Eric Nam's New Single and MV "Don't Leave Yet" Out Now!
LOS ANGELES, CA— Korean-American entertainer, singer-songwriter, and actor Eric Nam released his new single, “Don’t Leave Yet” on August 11, 2023. The track was written by Eric Nam, Rabitt[1] (Jason Yik Nam Wu), Boy Matthews, and Christina Galligan. Listen to the single here and watch the music video here
A true multi-hyphenate, Eric was involved in the screenwriting and creative direction of the music video. Produced alongside creative team 37th Degree (BTS, NewJeans) and choreographed by world-class choreographer Kyle Hanagami (BLACKPINK, CNCO, Justin Bieber), the video is set at a decadent dinner party complete with lavish food and glamorous guests, yet Eric is disconnected from the party happening around him.
“‘Don't Leave Yet’ is my take on a dance song,” Nam shares. “I wanted to flip the typical dance song on its head and thought about those situations where you or your friend don’t want to go home and stay out dancing instead. Maybe you want to get your mind off things in your life, and this song is saying - we can just dance it all out and stay here as long as you'd like. I'd like to think it's my version of an uplifting “I'm there for you” kind of moment, but in a fun dance song.”
“Don’t Leave Yet” follows the release of lead single “House on a Hill,” the title track from Eric’s forthcoming album. Last month, Nam enlisted Em Beihold for a special new version of “House on a Hill”. “House on a Hill” was met with critical praise upon release and was included on ROLLING STONE’s “Songs You Need To Know” list.
Eric’s highly anticipated new album, House on a Hill, will be released on September 8th. The album will include collaborations with UK-based artists, HONNE & Oh Wonder, and longtime collaborator & producer, Rabitt, musically supervising the album. House on a Hill is available for pre-order or pre-save here.
Following the album release this fall, Eric will embark on his House on a Hill World Tour which spans over 80 shows across North America, Latin America, the UK, Europe and Australia / New Zealand. Tickets for the North American, Latin America, UK and Europe legs are on sale now. See below for full tour routing and for additional information, please visit ericnam.com.

A Pleasure, Mr Horan
GQ Mexico & Latin America, February 2020
With ‘Nice To Meet Ya’, Niall Horan evolves in pop music, and opens the way to a promising second studio album
We’re witnessing the musical evolution of Niall Horan. Yes, Katy Perry’s favourite ex-member of One Direction and his debut single as a solo artist, ‘Slow Hands’, gave us the number one album Flicker in the final week of October 2017. The album, co-written by him in its entirety, had a pop-folk sound, from which the pop blueprint with which he started his second cut has evolved.
‘Nice To Meet Ya’ is a huge pop tune, that intro with piano and hand claps…
It’s what you have to do, to keep people interested. I was in a really good mood, I took the microphone, and that chorus just slipped out. It felt like a party.
How do you do this?
With a good melody, and lyrics that others can sing along with me. I’ve realised that we have this idea of how something should sound or think a lot about the lyrics, but the reality is people want to have fun and dance like crazy.
That’s exactly what you did. And is it about anyone in particular?
I wrote it about a wild night out, although nothing much happened [laughs]. My first album was exactly what I wanted in that moment, things that were passing through my head. This time, I opted for something more fun, to reflect my 26 years.
For you, coming from the One Direction phenomenon, it must be easy to flirt. Or is it the complete opposite?
It’s very difficult, I’m very picky when it comes to meeting people. I can’t just start flirting straight away, I need to chat, to be aware of what’s happening to be able to get to know someone the right way.
Let’s talk about your new album. Where are we at with it?
I’m going to show you my inbox, so you can see it’s full of masters of the songs we’ve chosen to give finishing touches, but it’s ready. It will be out this month or in March.
Which song are you most proud of?
There’s a couple. It was really hard to put this album together, because I ended up in love with so many of the songs, but ‘Put A Little Love On Me’ is a very sad ballad, it’s the most vulnerable I’ve been. People can say it’s the worst song, but for me, it’s the best I’ve written and I love to listen to it now.
How do you think pop music has shaped you as an artist?
I’ve loved it since I was a kid. I grew up with 70s rock and that was my first love, but I’ve always been interested in pop music, and my favourite thing about doing what I do is to make something a little different to traditional pop music, although not so rebellious, like what Billie Eilish is doing, in her way, and this helps to work in the sphere of pop music.
There’s a huge growth both vocally and sonically from Flicker to your new material. How do you see it?
For me, it hasn’t been so wild. I think ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ is a natural step forward from ‘Slow Hands’. It has been almost three years from one to the other, and in this gap, lots of things have happened to me as a person and as an artist, and in my musical tastes, and that’s what’s made me grow organically. It might sound crazy if you’re not inside my head, but I don’t think I’ve made music removed from who I am. Or at least, that’s what I think.
#Niall Horan#GQ#GQ Mexico#GQ Latin America#Nice To Meet Ya#NH2#translated from English to Spanish by GQ#and from Spanish to English by me#apologies if anything is lost in translation#there are a few phrases which I couldn't make sense of#but the gist is there

Blog 5: Joseph Rodriguez
Social documentary photographer Joseph Rodriguez was born in 1951 in Brooklyn.
He spent most of his 20s and 30s working as a taxi driver and didn’t into photography until much later. Working as a taxi driver gave Rodriguez a unique knowledge and perspective of New York and allowed him to tell stories of the unknown characters of the city.
Rodriguez’s first photographs were that of trees and buildings because he said he was afraid of people. After he warmed up a bit, he began taking photos of his passengers.
He would shoot various cab riders such as families, couples, and BDSM sex club members. He would also ride around in his cab and take photos out of the window of whatever he found interesting.
Rodriguez studied at the School of Visual Arts, New York City Technical College, and the International Center of Photography. It was at the International Center of Photography where he met photographer Mary Ellen Mark. She pushed him to take his photography to the next level.
“I continue to tell stories that have had an effect on my life so that we can diminish this distance and develop a better understanding.” - Joseph Rodriguez.
While attending the International Center of Photography, Rodriguez got involved in a class project on Spanish Harlem. Years later, he developed this project into a photo essay.
He gained moderate attention after documenting his environment of the Latin enclave of upper Manhattan, which is called “El Barrio.” According to Chapnick, Joe Rodriguez recognized his roots as the source of his inspiration to display the dynamism of the Latino community of East Harlem.
He captured the life of the Latino community through photographing the diverse people that live there, such as drug addicts and priests. Chapnick said he introduced Rodriguez to the director at National Geographic, who was impressed with his work. This ultimately led to a multi-page photo essay feature in the magazine.
Rodriguez went on to document gangs in Los Angeles which was considered a significant risk to him. But because of his background of growing up in Harlem, he built a rapport with his subjects.
Throughout the years, Rodriguez has photographed the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the struggle of immigrants traveling to America, along with many other projects.
Rodriguez has been featured in many publications such as The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Newsweek, and Esquire. His work has been featured in many different exhibits around the world.
He currently teaches at the International Center of Photography and New York University.
“Joe Rodriguez, like many other photographers who have opened the doors to photojournalism, did it by exploring the world with which he was most familiar. You may succeed just as well by opening your own back door.”- Howard Chapnick in the “Truth Needs No Ally.”
This resonated with me because I want to delve into and explore this type of photography. There is something exciting and raw about the concept of capturing photos that reflect the world around me. In my opinion, documentary-style photography breaks more ground than any type of photography, and these are the types of stories that I want to tell.

Quote
"Fortunately, I had a very good reception with my singles and I got carried away with that wave. Something interesting is that I did not have much pressure to form and create this album, compared to the one we lived with One Direction, which was a lot to be able to sell the tour, because it came out before the album. I no longer wanted to be in that situation, I preferred to live the music for what it is, enjoy it for what it transmits and not for a simple business. And it's just the reason why I took the time to deliver this one."
Since you touched the subject, do you think it is more acceptable to release singles than an album? (GQ Mexico and Latin America, Dec.19/Jan.20)

Space Project
"Space Project is my founding series, started in 2007 and still going on. It tells the story of both the past and the future of space exploration, from the memories of the Apollo program that followed the first steps of man on the moon, to the future NASA SLS rocket destined for Mars. My photographs are a mix of historical and documentarian vision of space adventure with scenes staged inspired by cinema and my childhood memories. My aesthetic, philosophical, and recreational fascination with outer space undoubtedly comes from the imagery and books from the 1970s and 80s – television series, science fiction novels and documentaries – that were blended and superimposed in my memory. Emblematic locations for space exploration look like cinema sets where Mon Oncle from Jacque Tati movie might meet with Jules Verne in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey… My latest images from December 2019 show the Artemis project, at the NASA Glenn Research Center, whose objective is to return to the Moon in order to develop an orbital station that will then serve as a starting point to go to Mars.
"Space exploration is humanity’s great adventure, a leap into the unknown towards a dark light beyond Earth’s protective atmosphere and the gravity that keeps us there. Space represents the universal desire not only to contemplate the sky, but also to project oneself into it. Desire, from the Latin work "desiderare", means regret and “nostalgia for a lost star”. But how can one desire something unknown? Could it be that – stardust that we are – we are reminded of a primeval time when we floated in space? Might men not be gods fallen from the sky, unconscious of the fact, but nevertheless nostalgic for the star they have lost?
I photographed both the past and the future of space exploration between 2007 and now, from the space race in the 1960s to the NASA SLS launch vehicle expected to go to Mars. The present decade marks the transition from political to economic considerations in space, and the introduction of a worldwide dimension. After the Cold War and the domination of the super powers, the space sector became less of a military priority than an economic one also involving investments by private rms with multiple interests: communication, science, research and development, ecology, health, technology, and even space tourism.
The ambivalence between fantasy and reality in Vincent Fournier’s photographs confronts the myth of space race with a sense of irony. It appears like a magnificent children's play provoking a diffusion between waking and dreaming. His ghostly, composed photographs-mysterious, space-suited men walking on a vast desert plain, a researcher quietly sitting in a blindingly white sterile environment, abandoned monitors blinking codes in a simulation room—have an otherworldly, unreal aesthetic. In these fascinating images, Fournier explores the paranoia and darkness of man’s attraction to the disconnect of space. — Sawako Akune, GQ Japan
I would like to thank all the space centres that have placed their trust in me and allowed me to venture behind the doors of these secretly guarded places. They have allowed me to relive my childhood dreams and I am grateful to them. Thank you to the NASA centers in the United States, John F. Xavier against Magneto
interview for GQ México, May 2019
link to the source below =>
In an interview, the actors James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender tell us about their participation in Dark Phoenix and their history behind the X-Men saga. James McAvoy has it clear, he is jealous of Michael Fassbender and the rest of the cast in the x-men saga. The reason is simple: he would have liked for Professor Xavier to have a suit too. One very showy, a superhero one, and yes, he is a little bit jealous. "Yes, a little, the truth is I would have liked to wear an attractive superhero costume, even so, I have the look of an action man with a turtleneck, which I like" says Professor X and his reflection comes after a decade to be in the skin of the mutant leader and when many point out that the mutant path has come to an end. Sometimes, memory fails and more with superheroes movies, because the first thing that comes to mind is the marvel cinematographic universe, the MCU monopolized our attention the recent 10 years, however, if we analyze it carefully, those who marked the pattern for the action genre of the 21st century was the mutants and they got it through the first X-Men (2000) by Bryan Singer. Dark Phoenix is the twelfth feature film of the franchise and the fourth installment of a series that continues to explore the origin of its characters. And also it would seem that it wants to play with our heads, what is known as a deja vu, why? Everything points out that the film is closing the circle of its era with 20th century fox before Disney takes control of the rights of the franchise and will do so adopting one of the most complex storylines among its fans, the dark phoenix created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne in 1980. Some years ago, the franchise of x-men first class (2011) managed to renew the popularity of the series thanks to the exploration of the origin of the enmity between Professor Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr aka Magneto, generating more than satisfied viewers and with the expectation of seeing more thanks to the work of two actors who are not only the pillars of this story, but in recent years emerged as icons of Hollywood and world cinematography, and what better to chat with them about what it holds for this movie (and what the future may leave) A FAMILY MORE THAN MUTANT. If something they have in common the trajectories of McAvoy and Fassbender is that their natural histrionic talent has allowed them to diversify and not fall into an interpretation stereotype, from one film to another we see them in very different characters, disparate, for example: Michael looked futuristic and chaotic as David in Prometheus, while James showed off his talent in Split and Glass playing Kevin and his multiple personalities. But x-men has something special for them, something that motivates them to come back and repeat "I think it's a combination of several factors" says McAvoy "We all enjoy playing these characters as I do, I love this company of actors, here there's a true family that goes back 10 years ago and for which you feel a lot of loyalty and affection " In that sense, Michael agrees with that idea and delves into what it's like to be a fundamental member of this family. "I love the journey that has led to Dark Phoenix and I specifically wanted to return, because Simon Kinberg would direct, I wanted to do everything I could to make things turn out well, he is a fantastic collaborator and seeing him in the director's chair made me very emotional" says Michael, highlighting the fraternity that has been formed within the production crew, although it's not the only reason that motivates them. The depth of their characters, as they have evolved throughout the movies, in addition to the political and social settings where they are developed are also excellent pretexts. The mutant phenomenon within x-men brings to the table racial issues, class, social inequality, prejudice and the reasoning of these issues, through their characters is, in essence, the pillar of the franchise. Magento seeks to locate his race above the pyramid and Xavier appeals for equality with humans, but how do they develop in this new delivery? What evolution we will see from Magneto and Xavier? Michael answers enthusiastically "Finally he has become the leader of Cuba that has always lived inside him! (Laughs) He has formed Genosha, his own community: an independent state/nation where the mutants live in harmony, without being attacked and in where anyone who agrees to help can be incorporated, is a self-sufficient community, not locatable and that was the struggle of Erik during the franchise " For his part, McAvoy makes it clear that the professor also presumes a profound transformation "Charles may be the leader of a social movement, but now he is the leader of a political movement, I think that's what he looks like now. which justifies by saying that he is loyal to his principles, although it seems to me that he has forgotten that those principles only exist to protect his family and his species, Charles somehow has forgotten that" says James, almost in love with his character. It's true, Dark Phoenix's argument is one of the most popular and puts one of his allies Jean Grey in direct confrontation with them, a situation that drives the characters to join forces, rethink their current situation and evolve. "What I find most interesting about Charles is that he is not selfish and he is not very vain, he is very wise and his empathy is what drives him and his detachment and almost sacerdotal nature are what defines him. somehow that disappeared in the two previous films and returns in this one. It was something that I liked, I really enjoy exploring that notion of fallibility" James finishes. REVENGE TIME. In Latin America, Simon Kinberg's name may not be as popular, but he is a select member of the mutant family, he has written and produced previous installments of the franchise, such as Apocalypse, Days of Future Past and he also wrote The Last Stand. Now his revenge has arrived. On this occasion, Kinberg debuted as a director and his place in that chair was something natural for Fassbender who knows and appreciates him. "Kinberg was very relaxed, very confident, he seemed to be doing this for years, he is also a very intelligent man, he is the kind of person who doesn't speak unless he knows about the subject, he observes, he listens. That makes a great director" Says Michael. While James, in turn, points to the particular style that the director printed on his debut. "The interesting thing was his instinct to make the film something more subtle, based on the performance, we're still going to have a show, but that was his way of doing it, going down to make it look more real. of the emotional drama "says McAvoy. Added to the cast is the consecrated Jessica Chastain (Zero Gravity, The Help) and her participation, although she is not the star, is key in Phoenix's journey to this dark stage. She is one of the reasons for her unbalance, to keep her out of control. Although her skills in front of the camera were that this duo almost completely missed. "It was great that she joined," emphasizes Fassbender. "But we didn't have many scenes together, just a few moments in the final scene, she is present with Jean, so it was mainly through acting patterns that I interacted with her character" James is not left behind the anecdote. "I think we only have one scene together ... unfortunately! In fact, I have a couple of scenes with her character, but she was not there, sometimes, it was just a special effect, one of the reasons she says that she took the job was because she expected to meet and act with me, but barely and we crossed paths! " RISE OF THE PHOENIX. When Sophie accepted the role of Jean Grey, surely she knew that in her hands she had a vital character for this cinematographic stage who, incidentally, is considered by experts as the most powerful female figure in the Marvel universe. In Apocalypse, Phoenix only had a few flashes of its potential, although it made it clear that in this movie it would have greater strength. Fassbender, from the beginning of his participation, was more interested in the weight of the different female characters but clarifies that the conjuncture we saw today did not influence for this to happen. In fact, that was the original idea almost 10 years ago. "I think the seeds of female roles were present, Simon had some unfinished issues after The Last Stand, he wrote the script! So that was already there, and at the moment this happens, it seems to be in sync with what happens in the real world, but Simon has always thought this way, equality in everything, both for female characters, as for male ones ", he concludes. With the premiere getting close, the fate of Jean Gray along with Professor Xavier, Magneto and the rest of the X-Men will be solved, and Dark Phoenix will unveil us if it represents the end of this cinematographic universe that infected of emotion the audience, it also had inconsistencies and errors. In this last letter, we will see until the final credits. For now, neither Fassbender nor McAvoy knows what the future holds for what they consider as one of their most endearing characters. "As far as the X-Men are concerned, I've always said: If this is the last one, it's been great, we have new owners of the franchise and who knows what they're going to do? But if this is the last one narratively, it feels like a good ending " James concludes. goodbye mutants?

Relax America: Putin Controls the Horizontal When did you first wake up from the collective sleep? For me, it was right before the Sochi Olympics of 2014. The roll-up blinds turned loose and snapped open, letting the bright morning sun rush into my sleepy brain. I remember thinking, “Wait a minute, us Americans, we’re supposed to be sportsmanlike.” So, something went was all wrong about Russia’s big Winter Olympic extravaganza. Only it had nothing to do with the Russians. The “something” was the onset of Russophobic chaos, you can call it Cold War II. All that hate leveled on Russia at her shining moment, it was the trumpeting of the end of peace in our time. “There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: There is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to… The Outer Limits.” Cut scene away from the 1962 TV series to 2021. Russian strongman Vladimir Putin now controls the world. An American billionaire president is run like a sock puppet by the former KGB Colonel. The great democracy is a push-button Russian toy. Putin’s GRU operatives in secret cyber pods across Russia monkey with the inner workings our America’s system. And now, even the Democratic Party candidates of a once-great nation are nothing more than little wooden Pinocchios for Vladimir to have fun with. It’s over. The Ruskies have won the game. Before long Starbucks will be serving blinis and borscht with a shot of Belebeyevskaya classic vodka. At least this is the rumor from CNN and The New York Times. GQ Magazine asks the question; “Why Does Putin Love Bernie?” James Carville, President Clinton’s former adviser, and campaign manager says; “the Nevada caucuses are a big win for top vote-getter Bernie Sanders, and for Vladimir Putin.” Google promotes the topic of “Russia and Bernie Sanders” to the top of any news search for Putin. Mike Bloomberg is telling the world Bernie Sanders is Putin’s choice because he can’t beat Donald Trump come November. And the United States of America is reduced to a great big mess of finger-pointers and Chicken Little fraidy-cats hollering “THE SKY IS FALLING!” Bloomberg likes China’s President Xi Jinping, Trump’s in Putin’s pocket, Sanders is the Russian interference super-cop, and the people of my country are a fragmented mess of dizzy Disney characters hell-bent on self. The world can go to hell, as long as we can feel like America is great again. In the meantime, the globalists who got the world in the current mess are creating a bipolar power struggle that can only lead to confrontation. From my perspective, everything we are seeing is the beating of war drums in preparation for some ultimate confrontation. The tension feels a lot worse than the original Cold War, in many ways. It’s as if some Wizard of Arms is behind the curtain pulling the strings to take us to a massive arms buildup. This hate and fear Russia narrative can only end in greater world crises. Just the other day Putin commented that Russia is ready for another “Cuban Missile Crisis” scenario if the west takes things that far. But the game big problem is not the complexion of this new Great Game. The more dangerous issue is the fact that policy analysis and geostrategy have become impossible now. The current situation cannot be looked at objectively anymore. Nobody is the expert in a cosmic mind mashing of misinformation and tailored rhetoric coming from all sides. Media is no longer news. Research is tainted by the big money. Profit superimposes an invisible will on everything we hear, see, think, and do. Putin the villain. Crazy Trump. And now the useless Bernie comes under the Russian mind control beam. Nuts. The world has gone nuts. We might as well be in the Dark Ages waiting for the total demographic, cultural, and economic deterioration to come. The New York Times’ On Politics writer Lisa Lerer says “the Russians don’t have to help President Trump or Bernie Sanders. They may already be winning.” It’s funny to me that none of these genius journalists and experts ever ask “What if?” Think about it. Let’s say Vladimir Putin is the great wizard pulling all the levers. What happens when the evil genius Putin finally wins it all? I guess, worst-case scenario, every Russian has two SUVs in their two-car garages in their Vladivostok or Yekaterinburg suburbs. Hell, America operates as if there are not enough gas-guzzling 4x4s to go around. A moment of pause, please. Why was it that the United States and Russia were enemies in the first place? Was there a purpose in all this west-east maneuvering? In my honest opinion, Vladimir Putin has done everything in his power to reconcile relations with the United States. In fact, he’s bent over backward to moderate the situation that came about because of the Ukraine coup. Yes, I said coup. The United States was behind Ukraine-EU integration all along, and Russia has only been on the defensive since before the Georgia War, which was also instigated by the United States. Even though the analysis of the overall geopolitical situation has become impossible, evaluating Putin’s role is not so complex. If the Russian president had wanted this bipolar power struggle, all he needed to do was to forge a military alliance with Iran and/or China. If his grand idea was territorial dominance, air dominance land-based military control of Asia, the Persian Gulf, and satellites in Latin America like Venezuela would pretty much do it. Sadly, this scenario looms darkly over the current situation we face. Americans are totally brainwashed and blinded by controlled media. The MAGA nonsense ripped the United States right down the middle. One provocation, a Gulf of Tonkin, and the next Vietnam or Korea is a reality. There’s nobody and nothing to stop it. Hell, a full-scale revolution is not beyond the scope of imagination if there is a close 2020 presidential race. The stage is set on that. With Putin and Russia as the convenient instigators, try and imagine how a silent or loud coup in America works. Think like the 21st Century robber barons in charge of this whole mess. Somewhere in London or New York, a room thick with cigar smoke and old leather echoes with the casual planning of powerful men. And no, there are no ladies present, I am sorry for those among you who believe in things like equality. This mahogany clad penthouse overlooking us peons is where the fates are being calculated. Two, five, six, or seven old and angry men decide it all. The end game. What Putin will do. How Trump’s play will impact the big win or lose of west versus east. Bernie or Bloomberg. None of this really matters, don’t you see? I can assure you, these people are there planning and plotting based on foreknowledge that presidential outcomes are controlled. Come on America, we know this since forever. The only question is; “Are they planning for the ultimate takeover of the world, or do they already control it?” My only hope is that I am right in betting on Vladimir Putin being on the level. I hope Putin does control the horizontal in this case, because the vertical is controlled by the worst of the worst among us.
