Precure

Been on a Precure watching binge lately, so why not lists? XD

All my opinions yo! Will update as I binge seasons (in no particular order)

GPP (Go Princess Precure)

Favorite Cure: Cure Scarlet. Even though she was a late entry, she stole the show. I also liked Cure Flora a lot too Least Favorite Cure: Cure Mermaid. She's just a bit too tropey for my tastes. Favorite Transformation: Cure Flora's. Favorite Villain: Shut. Hands down, favorite character in GPP. I was rooting for him to be saved/redeemed the whole way. Least Favorite Villain: Eh, I'd say Dispear but she's not really present too much so IDK if she actually counts. Of the ones that have screen time, I guess Lock. Mainly cause I wish they had somehow hinted about the truth of him rather than just shove it in. Pacing: I started off loving this show so much and it generally kept that same feeling, minus a few episodes here and there. It had peaks but always seemed to return to the same level of good.

HCP (Happiness Charge Precure)

Favorite Cure: Cure Fortune. I really like her determination and her whole character arc. Least Favorite Cure: Cure Honey. Her constant talk of nothing but food got old very, very quickly. Favorite Transformation: Cure Fortune. The celestial motif is good. Favorite Villain: Namakelder for sure; this lazy guy stole all the attention! I also really like Red when he shows up at the end. Least Favorite Villain: Hosshiiwa. Her laugh is just horrendous & her motivations are just "bleh". Pacing: I'll admit the first few episodes dragged and it was hard to get into it. But then, as the series progressed, it got better and better and better.

So, a sort of half month long strip from Go Princess, that I am trying to finish. I honestly love this clip from gpp and walkways wanted to redraw it but I only ever had Hope.

So the roles assumed are :

Flora -> Hope

Mermaid -> @curejune

Twinkle -> @emibaarashi (because, it's been taken since when.) And,

Twilight -> my professor of so little faith

I have no ownership of any of these panels, just two characters and two are from June and Emiba, everything else, concept and all, belongs to Bandai and honestly, this is helping me practice off hand some poses and angles. So yeah, magical girl shows are magic in their own making.

And the dialogue is in spanish, mainly because my classmates wanted to read it after. Some panels have been taken out so it's not an exact replica.

I'll see if I can't translate this later and have a few more panels done before December or so.~ This won't be an everyday thing so I'll see to it every other day or so.~

Hi, I wanted to ask about "no pantsu" incidents in PC fandom. I joined Tumblr PC fandom only this year, so I don't know about dramas there. I read your post about Yuko's incident and I had no idea that this stuff could be possible, omg...

I don’t know how familiar you are with anime fandoms, especially ones that have a higher number of male fans than female fans. But there’s this weird obsession with female characters not wearing any underwear/panties under their skirt. For some reason, dudes are just really, really thirsty for this kind of thing.

The first incident happened during Happiness Charge’s airing. In the first ED, there’s a scene where Cure Lovely/Megumi is doing a jump trick off of a skateboard. Fans combed through that scene frame by frame, and showed off one particular in-between frame as “proof” that Megumi wasn’t wearing any underwear under her skirt… all because there wasn’t a line or something near her butt indicating underwear. (I know, it’s dumb.) Perverts People went a little crazy over that.

The second incident happened during Go Princess’ airing. In one of the later episodes near the end of the series (I don’t know which one as I had stopped watching GPP by then), there’s a really unfortunate angle and use of shadow/lighting that made it look like Cure Mermaid/Minami wasn’t wearing any underwear under her Cure outfit. I get the feeling that it was an animation error of some sort, but it really was an unfortunate shot. There were a few people outraged about how “sleazy” the shot was; but there were a ton more people who were happy over this. One prominent Precure fan (not naming him for reasons) was gleefully making posts about this, saying how the animator of that episode was “one of them” or “on their side” or something along those lines… because I guess sexualizing 14-year-olds is something to be proud of? Anyway, that dude and his followers/fans started kind of harassing people who were upset at this shot, calling them “triggered SJWs” if I recall correctly. I was one of those people actually; which is why I don’t want to mention his username on here. (good thing he effed off pretty quickly)

Annnd that’s basically it. I don’t want to scare you though; the Precure fandom has actually gotten a lot better as of late. There’s still people who harshly criticize whatever current season of Precure is airing; but there’s been a whole lot less shipping wars and other bad stuff in general.
