Nefarious is exactly what she's doing by sliding her arms around him that way but he will let it slide. In fact, he gave a hum, leaning into her and placing a kiss against her lips. It's something he's been meaning to do all day. When it's your best friend that you get to hold every night it's a kinda magic he can get behind. It's a long way from New Mexico he'll say. Now all the rage is night City, glam and dirty laundry. The kind they love to expose.

"Yeah, you're right. It is dangerous. Still, having you go there at all is bad enough." Since this is something he's been following for a while, he can't really tell her no. He'll try though. "Don't think it's gonna be worse? I mean me alone undercover is one thing. Dragging you in?" At that point it's more than his job. He'll be worrying about her even if he's glued to her hip.

She could only exhale a breath as he tried to tell her no. A real worrier, that was Landon. But, Eloise couldn't blame him- she's in the same boat after all. "But leaving me home to worry about you is fine?" She still held that same smile, even as she scrunched her nose a bit, "Are we not that dynamic duo that can do anything we set our minds to? The ones feared by every criminal out there that we will expose them?"

Her tone may have been playful, but she dropped it when her expression changed to something more serious, "You worry too much about me. Can I not handle myself? I mean, I took those self defense classes too."

"Cute, huh?" He questioned her as he narrowed his gaze. Why does he get the feeling she's trying to pull one over on him. "Is this about the Night City story I'm tackling that you want in on OR genuine appreciation for your boyfriend?"

Eloise gives a fake gasp, "I'm shocked that you would assume anything nefarious of you're own girlfriend. Maybe I just think you looked cute and wanted to tell you."

She paused, moving closer to wrap her arms around his waist, "... Unless it's working and you could actually use a partner on this. Night city is a dangerous place alone and you know I'd definitely feel better at your side."

"Do you know where babies come from? I do. It's gross. It's from french kissing because normal kissing isn't strong enough. Kissing is just icky" - Lana to Cody oop 😂

Cody just sipped at his drink as he listened to her. Lunch had been mostly quiet, mostly typical. He was getting used to Lana being around, so much that it seemed weird when she wasn't. She just... Liked to talk. And sometimes the things she said were just weird or totally weird for a kid so young to know.

"Mmm..." Slowly, he set his glass on the table next to his plate, just looking her over for a moment, "I - don't think that's really right, Lana." Being in high school, he knew plenty about where babies came from and other strange and kinda gross sex things. Things he wasn't about to repeat to Lana.

"...Kissing isn't gross," Cody shrugged, looking down to his plate as he lightly tapped his finger on it, "I think it can be nice. People seem to like it. It makes them smile sometimes... Lou and Lando are always smiling when they kiss."

"Happy Birthday to the best journalist in the world." Landon uncovered a new desk he put together with a brand new laptop. The perfect set up for her work. A new space just for her in their new home.

Eloise gave a bright smile and a gasp as he unveiled the surprise he had been saving for her. It was an absolutely perfect gift and would make working so much easier, "Landon! This is amazing!" She threw her arms around him in a hug, lips connecting to his, "Thank you, I love it!"

"Hey, Lo. You rose tint my world..."

She just hummed, tilting her head towards him, "That's probably pretty dangerous, you know," she smiled as she teased him, leaning closer, "But... We both know that's just your style, isn't it? The thrill of the rush, the 'will they, won't they?'" She ran a hand up along his neck to the back of his head to pull him down closer, "Well, Lan? Will they?"

This was the first time he's able to get Eloise something without it seeming weird. He wanted to before but that was before they finally took their relationship to the next level. He set down his arrangement before pulling her into a kiss. "Happy Valentine's Day, Lo. I love you..."

Her eyes widened at the arrangement, the smile spreading across her face. Before she could say anything, he had pulled her in for a kiss. Eloise reached up to cup his face, keeping him close as she kissed him back.

"Landon... This is beautiful, I love them. Thank you," she wraps her arms around him, holding him tight, "I love you too."
