早くも次の一台が欲しくなって、二駆の次はやっぱり四駆だな、と。

タミヤのTT02シャーシのアウディクアトロラリーカーに気持ちがいってましたが、いじって遊べそうなのは、上のGF01シャーシ かも、と思った次第。

#1 FF

Friday marks the end of the working week. The non gender specific person reaches Friday with an air of content, maybe for the success of to do lists ticked, maybe for the fact that the negatives were stacking up and next week is looking brighter, or maybe just for the upcoming weekend.

My week has been treading new steps, in new threads, through pastures new in Waterloo. I have changed roles for the first in two years and have gone to a new company. Change is change. 2pac once said

‘Change, sh*t. I guess change is good for any of us, whatever it takes for any of y'all *something* to get up out the hood, Sh*t, I’m wit cha, I ain’t mad at cha, got nuttin’ but love for ya, do ya thing boi’

but I digress. Change is going to leave some sadness and present you with excitement, it’s going to take away some anxieties and give you brand new ones, it’s going to take all the food places you used to know and give you opportunities to eat something new. I had pizza twice in the same week, although I didn’t change the venue the second time, I changed the topping. I digress again.

Maybe I don’t digress. In today’s times I read lots and today I felt like I would start writing something. I’ve aptly labelled it something that would reference my name, FF. I’ve also just had a discussion with a friend I used to work with. One of the chats was about the changes in meeting rooms. At my old place, I used my knowledge and wisdom to inspire people at, they named meeting rooms by floor and numbered them - Ground floor was GF and the first meeting room was GF01 and so on. The First Floor was FF and continued up through the numbers to the Second Floor, SF. In my new place, where I shall be spreading joy and sparking interest, they name some after big, Hollywood movies and others after tube stations. Catchy. So earlier I made a quick call in Narnia and met a manager for a standing meeting in Up. Later in the day I chilled out, sorry, worked in Embankment! I’ve worried a little on the safety implications on this, or even my sanity coming in to question if I ever ring up sounding flustered saying I’m lost and in Narnia. Or on the way to work I get mugged in Embankment and they all think I’m having a cup of tea in the meeting room…

In the horrific events of the last week, month, year it’s sometimes difficult not to think that life is too short and feeling the desire to give up the 9-5 and make use of what time you have. Unfortunately the two days of eating pizza (I’m not saying that just eating pizza is making the most of what you have) needs those 8 hours first otherwise it’s unaffordable. Ye olde catch XXII. I’ve had my head in the clouds (literally while I was in Up) with learning new processes, getting used to new teams and new faces and have been feeling the input has been a lot more than the output this week. I’ve pondered on whether the right choices have been made and while events have unfolded before me I can’t help but feel this working life IS for me. There’s a certain comfort, a feeling of need, the reward for completing a task, satisfaction at streamlining processes that gives you something to be proud of. Things challenge you through life and work gives you opportunities to better yourself and overcome those challenges.

What this week has made me feel is that there are jobs out there that are rewarding for you and others. People coming together in London, and up North, this week and previous weeks; the police officers, the fire fighters, the community workers, politicians, campaigns teams, activists, the social workers, the youth workers, the teachers, the drivers, the bar staff, events coordinators and so on and so on have all ‘worked’ extremely hard this week. They’ve made a huge amount of difference in their communities. All the people doing all the jobs, all the amazing jobs, do things which ultimately and hopefully they enjoy doing. I’m hopefully making the point that you could be doing something that someone else is benefiting from or you could be completely selfish and doing something you really love, and hopefully this will make so many other people feel incredibly loved, supported, invaluable.

Whether the meeting rooms are originally named or make believe, you should want to be in it. Making your dreams come true. Everyone else’s dreams can then come true too.
