EGBM 1/144 Entry Grade Custom GAT-X105B/EG "Build Strike Exceed Galaxy"

Another of the new Entry Grades!! Compared to the Lah Gundam this kit has a much more involved build process. The waist and hip articulation in particular are a considerable improvement and don't leave gaps upon ab-crunching like the EG Lah or RX-78-2. The Strike Exceed Galaxy also has an impressive amount of detail for an EG kit, including two-part hands and even panel lines.

Another draw of this EG over others is the inclusion of UV reactive parts. All of the trans-pink pieces are UV reactive, but so is the green piece used for the eyes. On a kit without stickers this detail gives the eyes an extra bit of brightness usually afforded by the foil stickers, and this was a neat inclusion.

This kit usually comes with a special beam rifle that can split into a smaller beam gun and a club, but the parts don't look very cool. Luckily this kit also has the original EG strike gun, which I've outfitted it with instead. Included is also a beam blade piece that can attach to both the club and shield, although it looks a lot better on the shield.

The main gimmick of this kit is the presence of several 3mm holes. Just like on 30MM kits these exist to allow for future customisation. The other gimmick is the inclusion of a back mounted core-fighter, the Galaxy Fighter.

This side-build can also be displayed separately or attached to the main kit as a booster to assist kicks and punches.

Overall this was a very impressive kit for an EG and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get into gunpla!

Title: Build Riya Gundam Mk-II

Before Riya 🐰🏎️ suits her armored custom "Build Strike Rouge" variants, there's her armored "Build Gundam Mk-II", now known as "Build G Mk-II" this 2024.🤖😁 Based on the original 'RX-178 Gundam Mk-II' from 'Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam', the armor Build G Mk-II possessed dual beam rifles 🔫🔫 attached from her each forearm. And like Spot's armor Build Strike Full package, she got her owned flight booster attached on her back known as the 'Build Booster Mk-II' ✈️🚀, with two movable shields that act as a mountable weapon(s), or a defensive feature. 😁

Build Riya Gundam Mk-II (now called "Build G-Riya Mk-II"; affected on Jan 14th, 2024) Based on: RX-178B Build Gundam Mk-II [CLICK ME!]

Armament(s):

Beam Rifle Mk-II • The armor Build G Mk-II's primary weapon, they are high output beam rifles that are mounted to the movable shields, but they can also detach and be used as handheld weapons. When attached to the shields, the pair of rifles are directly linked to the suit's generator and hence capable of powerful beam shots. When used as a handheld weapon, the rifles can only fire limited number of shots due to their heavy energy consumption. The Beam Rifle MK-IIs can fire beam shots individually or in a beam machine gun-like burst.

Beam Sabers from Beam Rifle Mk-II's ○ Each rifle can also generate a beam blade from its emitter for close combat when mounted on the movable shield.

Movable Shield • The primary defensive equipment of the armor Build G Mk-II, they also serve as the mounting points for the Beam Rifle Mk-IIs. The pair of movable shields can be mounted either to the Build Booster MK-II or to the armor Build G Mk-II's arms.

Beam Saber • The armor Build G Mk-II possesses two beam sabers as its primary close combat weapon. When not in use, the beam sabers are stored on a pair of racks on its backpack, identical to the original armor G Mk-II.

Beam Rifle • The armor Build G Mk-II's optional ranged beam weapon, it is the same handheld beam rifle used by the original armor G Mk-II.

Hyper Bazooka • A powerful handheld bazooka, identical to that used by the original armor G Mk-II.

Vulcan Pod • Just like the original armor G Mk-II, the armor Build G Mk-II lacks head-mounted vulcan guns, but it can equip this optional vulcan pod on its head. The vulcan guns are housed in the left side with two barrels, while the right side functions as a balancer and contains the magazine.

Shield • The arnor Build G Mk-II can also carry the standard solid shield used by the G MK-II.

Special Equipment(s) / Feature(s):

Build Booster Mk-II • The detachable support unit concept utilized by the GAT-X105B/FP Build Strike Full Package proved to be very effective in battle, and the Build Booster MK-II is an enhanced version of this concept. The Build Booster MK-II is armed with a pair of Beam Rifle Mk-II as well as two Movable Shields, and they are mounted on rotatable joints. These weapons can either remain on the unit or be transferred to the armor Build G Mk-II's arms when the Build Booster Mk-II docks with the suit. Either way, the Beam Rifle MK-IIs have a wider attack range than the Build Booster's large beam cannons. The front portion of the Build Booster Mk-II is not present when it is attached to the armor; after detaching from the armor, the front section will dock with it to allow independent operation.

GAT-X105B/EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy

While I think Metaverse was a perfectly harmless, cute series, that doesn't mean it couldn't be better. I watched the Gridman movie shortly afterward, and that did way more of the crossover stuff you want to see in the same amount of time. As every main character got a new Gunpla, I'd like to take a second to talk about how I'd rather they'd have handled each season's representation in those reviews.

A big misstep with the Fighters cast is their ages. Sei is the same age as Sekai, and considering he wasn't revealed until EP3, finally revealing the version of him teased in Try would have been a great payoff. It's also a bummer how every Fighters universe character besides Fumina doesn't have an Avatar, and they had a bunch of already existing outfits that would be both perfect and great marketing. You give Sei his EP1 Amuro costume, Ral his original series outfit, and you give China, Rinko, and even Gyanko their MS Girl outfits, because there're kits of them and that'd be good marketing.

Also, not making the characters their proper ages mean they had to omit Reiji's daughter. And how perfect would her inclusion have been? Seeing one of the original characters getting their kid into Gunpla? Maybe when Reiji comes in on the Star Burning Gundam, he's wearing the Beargguy F backpack and she's along with him? It would have been an amazing end cap to Fighters, Try, and Metaverse. Fighters was probably the season that was handled the worst of the four, which is disappointing since it was the first.

The Kit: Onto the kit, it is the EG Strike Gundam with new armor parts and backpack, but you'd think it was a new mold considering how it has no leftover parts. It has some nice accessories and a lot of hard points for customization. I do worry about longevity, considering my original EG RX-78-2, but other than that I have little issue.

The Details: Quite a bit of black panel lining, as well as some black paint to fill a few small areas. Metallic blue on the peripheral cameras and rifle scope. I also filled in the clear red parts with metallic red where I could to hide the plastic underneath.

Overall, a simple but neat kit with some cool gimmicks. I'd almost recommend getting two just to mess with the customization stuff.

Title: Star Build Strike Spot (Plavsky Wing)

Here's my promised for Spot's 🐶🏎️ 'Build Strike Full Package' successor, the 'Star Build Strike'! 🤖⭐😁 Based on the Gunpla counterpart, Spot's armor 'Star Build Strike' possesses numerous armaments, and all source of particle powers, including energy wings generated from his transformable flight backpack called the 'Universe Booster'. 🤖🪽 💫

Star Build Strike Spot Based on the: GAT-X105B/ST Star Build Strike Gundam [CLICK ME!]

Armament(s):

Beam Saber • The Star Build Strike possesses two beam sabers as its primary close combat weapon. Its beam sabers are powerful enough to destroy an enemy unit with a single hit. When not in use, the beam sabers are stored on the side skirts.

Beam Gun • The same beam gun as used by the original Build Strike. Additional components are added to transform it into the Star Beam Rifle.

Star Beam Rifle • An upgraded version of the Build Strike's "Enhanced Beam Rifle". Its power output can be enhanced further through Discharge Rifle Mode by connecting to the Absorb Shield's charging barrel. The rifle's top barrel can flip over and is only used in Discharge Rifle Mode.

Star Beam Cannon • Mounted on the Universe Booster, the Star Beam Cannons' barrel can extend when in use. The beam cannons are positioned under the shoulders when deployed, and can also swing backward to fire at enemy units.

Absorb Shield • An upgraded version of the original Build Strike's "Chobham Shield". The shield has two new features: the ability to absorb and nullify beam weaponry, and a charging barrel that can attach to the Star Build Strike's beam rifle and amplify its power. However, it has difficulties handling a heavy projectile based assault and when the shield opens up to absorb enemy's beam attack, is unable to defend against beam blade attacks. The shield also cannot absorb beams that are too large.

Special Equipment(s) / Feature(s):

Absorb System • One of the Star Build Strike's unique systems. By manipulating Plavsky Particles, it can alter and absorb enemy beam attacks through the Absorb Shield. The absorbed Plavsky Particles can be used later by the armor's Discharge System.

○ Discharge System • Another of the Star Build Strike's unique systems, it can improve the Star Beam Rifle's power or the armor's speed and mobility. However for the Star Build Strike to execute this system, it must first absorb Plavsky Particles through the Absorb System. The number of times the Discharge System can be used seems to be linked to the number of beam attacks absorbed. The Star Build Strike can also use the absorbed particles to generate numerous small "Star Funnels" from the clear red parts on its legs and use them as projectile weapons. These red parts can also generate several small "Plavsky Power Gates", which are used to increase the speed and/or power of a melee attack.

○ Discharge Rifle Mode • The Absorb Shield's charging barrel is connected to the Star Beam Rifle and the Star Build Strike generates a large "Plavsky Power Gate". The particles absorbed are then transferred to the beam rifle and fired at the gate. When the mode is first used, the particles are fired from the rifle's top barrel and transformed by the gate into numerous beams to hit the target. The charging time required then was long and leaves the Star Build Strike vulnerable to attacks. When the Discharge Rifle Mode is later used at maximum output, the particles are fired from both of the rifle's barrels as well as the Star Beam Cannons at the "Plavsky Power Gate" that converges all of the beams into a single large, devastating beam. The charging time was also greatly reduced, but it is unknown if this is a result of an improvement or an inherent feature of the mode at max output. The reduced charging time may also be directly related to the amount of beams absorbed by the Absorb Shield.

○ Discharge Speed Mode • The Star Build Strike generates a large "Plavsky Power Gate" and passes through it, resulting in the materialization of temporary "Plavsky Wings" on the armor's back. These wings are later replaced by the gate, which now releases a particle cloud that is powerful enough to destroy any missiles or funnels caught in its wake. In this mode, the Star Build Strike gains increased speed and manoeuvrability. There seems to be a time limit on how long this mode can be used.

Radial General Purpose (RG) System • Unlike other armor that uses only Plavsky Particles on the exterior to move them, the Star Build Strike also saturates its internal components with Plavsky Particles through the RG System to strengthen its performance. The particles can be concentrated in specific internal components to increase their physical strength or used throughout all the internal components, improving the control of the unit and bringing out its full potential. The latter is also sometimes referred to as 'Full Mode', however there may be adverse effects if it is used when the unit's physical condition is poor. The RG System is usually reserved as a last resort to overpower other units up close should all else fails. Most of the gray parts on the Star Build Strike, excluding the Universe Booster, will glow blue when the RG system is activated and a brief glimpse of the armor's inner frame can also be seen.

UB-01 Universe Booster • A new booster pack for the Star Build Strike, it can increase the unit's power and mobility when docked. Developed from the Build Booster, it is equipped with a pair of beam cannons and can act as an independent fighter when detached from the Star Build Strike. The Universe Booster plays an important role in the Discharge Mode as it is involved in generating the large "Plavsky Power Gate" and is where the "Plavsky Wings" are generated.

Build Booster Mk-II The support unit from the armor Build G Mk-II, it is armed with the Beam Rifle Mk-IIs and the Movable Shields. It is attached to the Star Build Strike after it lost its Universe Booster, and allows the armor to fly against the flow of a particle storm when the RG System undergoes a full release. The Star Build Strike also executed the Hyper Build Knuckle while in this form.

Special Attack(s):

Build Knuckle • Also known as the "RG Build Knuckle", the Build Knuckle is usable only when the RG system is in "Full Mode". It is a powerful punch that is strong enough to counter the armor X Maoh's "Maoh Sword". When the RG System and Discharge System are utilized simultaneously, the small "Plavsky Power Gates" can be localized to the arms and enhance the power of the RG Build Knuckle.

Double Build Knuckle • A double fisted version of the Build Knuckle. When the small "Plavsky Power Gates" localized to the arms, the double build knuckle is capable of overpowering the beam sabers generated by the armor Exia Dark Matter in Trans-Am, and still have enough power to land a direct on its torso.

Hyper Build Knuckle • A stronger version of the Build Knuckle, it is used when the RG system initiates a full release. Whether this is due to excessive strain on the arms or simply the crystal's durability is unknown.

Armament(s):

Beam Cannon • Mounted on the backpack, the beam cannons are positioned under the shoulders when used by Strike Rouge Cosmos and their barrels can extend when in use.

Beam Rifle • Build Strike Rouge Cosmos can use a handheld beam rifle that resembles the Star Build Strike's Star Beam Rifle. However, its capabilities are unknown.

Shield • Mounted on the left forearm, the shield resembles the Star Build Strike's Absorb Shield.

Absorb Field • When deployed, a glittering spherical force field capable of absorbing beam attacks surrounds the armor.
