North American P-51D-20-NA Mustang "Big Beautiful Doll") (sn 44-72218), North American P-51D-5-NA Mustang "Marinell" (sn 44-13521), and North American P-51D-10-NA Mustang (sn 44-14419) by Robert Sullivan Via Flickr: (sn 44-72218) - (78th FG, "Big Beautiful Doll") flown by Col J. D. Landers, ace with 14.5 victories. Sold for scrap after the war. I have a reference having this gone to civil registry as G-HAEC, then D-FBBD, and being involved in a midair collision with AD-4N 124143 Jul 10, 2011 at Duxford UK airshow. Pilot bailed out but P-51 was a total write off, AD-4N landed safely. However, it seems that D-FBBD is actually an Australian-built CA-18 Mustang 22, serial A68-192. (sn 44-13521) (MSN 109-27154) - with 504th FS, 339th FG, 8th crashed near St Justin Chausson, 26 km ENE of Beauvais, France after wing hit by bomb blast Aug 13, 1944. MACR 7775. Pilot killed. Recovered at an unknown date by English person and has been under restoration since 1999. Registered to English user as G-MRLL Aug 22, 2005. Made first flight after restoration Jul 26, 2008. Registration G-MRLL cancelled May 18, 2017 and to N383FJ May 3-, 2017 with Sky West Aviation Inc, Albuquerque, NM (sn 44-14419) - (350th FS, 353rd FG) crahlanded in Belgium Dec 25, 1944. Pilot survived and returned to unit, aircraft badly damaged, unknown if repaired.

North American P-51D Mustang '413521 / 5Q-B' 'Marinell' (G-MRLL) by Alan Wilson Via Flickr: This is one of two stunning Mustangs owned by Maurice Hammond and based at Hardwick in Norfolk. She looks fantastic in her genuine markings that are exactly as she wore when flying with 504th Fighter Squadron, 339th Fighter Group based at Fowlmere in 1944. She scored four kills with the unit, before being shot down over France on 13th August 1944 (70 years and 11 days before this shot was taken). The subsequent crash landed sadly killed the pilot, 2nd Lt Myer R Winkleman. The remains of the Mustang were discovered in a scrap-yard in the mid 1970s and after some time as a museum exhibit the airframe was bought by Maurice Hammond and a detailed restoration was carried out. She flew again in July 2008 and has been based at Hardwick ever since. She is seen parked on the flightline at Little Gransden during the 2014 Air & Car show, a charity event for 'Children in need'. Little Gransden, Cambridgeshire. 24-8-2014
