Hey friends, sorry to ask yet again, but can we do a "get help"? (For those new to the "get help" it means sending funny, sweet, or horny things of our favorite fictional men, or just nice words etc. To cheer someone up) I don't mean to whine, but uh...I'm losing it. In the interest of brevity, here's the tl:dr...
-Still down with corona (but yay! Can smell a little again. And finally had the opportunity to binge Fleabag. Not quite finished yet, though. So, no spoilers).
-the second ex-boyfriend I was on good terms with/ friends with unexpectedly dying suddenly before their 40th birthday in a single year.
-my job campus closing down December 31st, job future very uncertain.
-Rude/fat-shaming/incredibly disrespectful yearly check up (dispite the fact that all my numbers are fine and my health is good, so...again sliver linings).
-Moving house by Dec. 31 (but it's a good/terrifying reason! Buying a house which will make freelancing easier.)
-doing a lot of freelance work (which is great because I'm in demand, and gives new experiences and money) but always stressful and uncertain and a lot more work.
Sorry, friends. I hope I'm not annoying the shit out of you all. (If I am, please feel free to ignore) I just gotta scream into the void again. In real life, I kind of suck it all up and don't say much.
Since the friend who ruined my birthday party, I've kind of stepped away from that whole friend group, which I think is a healthy decision, but leaves me, well...a lot more alone.
Please send some funny, sexy, weird, happy things. Share your good news in your life, show me cute pets. Share the shit out of this post. I would very much appreciate it. (Again, no pressure, and my apologies if I'm annoying you).
Much love ❤️

A few months ago, I had a very intense dream set way in the future where everything is essentially a wasteland with a very, very small human population that is carefully controlled.
Giant dinosaur-like creatures are the overlords of the planet-- whether aliens or some animal that has evolved, I have no idea. But what is left of the humans were the slaves of the giant creatures, and held the children in camps. None of them know where the adults are sent-- there are no adults anywhere, and when the kids hit 16, they disappear-- whether they're killed or moved, no one knows. None of them have ever even seen anyone over 16.
There is a myth in the camp that there is an adult camp ~150km away from them, and that’s where the giant dinosaur like creatures keep their parents.
The main character is a 14 year old non-binary kid, Peb. Peb manages to escape with one of the other slaves, a 12 year old deaf kid called B.B. They manage to escape, and they keep running. Eventually, they are saved by some attacks from the giant dinosaur like creatures by someone called Perry. Perry is the oldest person they’ve ever met—he’s 71. He tells them that he was at that camp and escaped years ago.
B.B. asks if Perry knew their parents, Perry sadly tells him that his father Barney was killed trying to escape several years ago.
Perry tells Peb that he knew their father, Fred. Perry tells Peb not to go looking for Fred-- Fred is 64, and they won't get to the quarry camp in time for his 65th birthday.
Perry tells them they can both stay with him, he'll help keep them safe as best he can, and teach them how to survive. B.B. chooses to stay, but Peb wants to try to save their father before he is killed, and promises to try to return to Perry and B.B. with Fred.
Peb starts off on their own with supplies and a map given to them by Perry. They dodge the creatures, meet one or two feral adult human clans who viciously attack anyone and everyone they see, human or the dinosaur creatures, doesn't matter.
Peb finds the adult camp at the quarry. They quietly approach one of the adult humans who is working, Perry. They tell Joe they're there to try to find Fred, and ask for Joe’s help to try to liberate the camp.
Joe sadly tells Peb that Fred is really poorly-- his health is so bad that the overseers have threatened to kill Fred because he cannot keep up with the work load. Joe argued with the overseers and promised to look after Fred and keep him on task, but it's getting worse and worse-- he'll probably be killed within the week because he just can't physically keep up with all the work.
Joe and Peb come up with a strategy to try to get Fred out. Peb wants to save the whole camp, but Joe tells them this is impossible-- they will both absolutely get killed, and so will all of the people in the camp.
Joe tells Peb there's one of the creatures with whom he thinks he can reason with (he calls this creature Deano) -- but he's going to have to have something to offer Deano in exchange. Joe tells Peb that Deano often asks Joe about the ancient human civilisation. Deano will let Joe trade stories (true, myth or completely made up, doesn't matter) for favours-- extra helpings of food, more comfortable cots, and letting Joe's friend Fred live when he really should have been disposed of.
Joe explains to Peb that the only hope they have of getting Deano on their side and helping Fred escape is to find an artefact from the former human civilisation that once existed. They are about 20KM away from what used to be known as a city. If Peb can get there, fill their bag with as many artefacts from the ancient human race as possible, there is a chance-- a tiny chance-- that Peb can buy Fred's freedom.
Peb asks what they can bring back to buy Joe's freedom as well, but Joe tells them he cannot leave-- he's the only one there who has managed to make this bond with one of the overlords-- he uses this relationship to try to protect his fellow prisoners as best he can. If he leaves, no one will be there to protect them all. What matters is getting someone else to safety.
Joe warns them that Deano has told him that where they are going is very dangerous—the former buildings have crumbled, there are wild animals that have taken over the spaces.
To make it worse, there are several of the overlord creatures who wander all the rubble, and they’re far more vicious and cruel than any of the creatures Peb has ever come across.
Joe tells them it would be best for Peb to go find a safe, quiet place to live as long and safe as they can because Fred is pretty much dead already. Determined, Peb refuses, and tells them they will try.
Peb now has a plan-- fill their rucksack with as many artefacts as possible, get back to the quarry camp as soon as possible, and Joe will use those artefacts to buy Fred’s freedom. Joe tells Peb that Fred might only have a week max, and encourages Peb to go as quickly as possible.
As they dodge the collapsing buildings and the wild creatures, as well as the rogue overlord dinosaur creatures, Peb finally manages to they pick up as many surviving objects as they can find that haven't completely wasted away.
They find an old vinyl record, a book that's nearly turned to dust, a tin can of some food that obviously expired centuries before they were ever born, Glass bottles, a car tyre hub, metal pens-- anything and everything that they can fit into their bag (that would generally be considered useless rubbish by the ancient humans who have left it all behind) and get back to the quarry camp as quickly as possible.
Peb returns to the quarry camp and gets Joe’s attention. They pass the treasures over to Joe through the fences, who looks through the bag and tells them this will help enormously—there’s so much here!
Peb asks where Fred is being kept, and whether Joe can get them over to see Fred, now that they have enough to buy his freedom.
Joe calls Deano over, and hands over the artefacts, asks Deano if it is enough. Deano is excited—this is certainly enough to buy Joe’s freedom. Peb argues—no, no, this is to buy Fred’s freedom. Deano opens the gate and lets Joe walk out—Joe is free.
Deano takes Peb into the camp in Joe’s place. Peb begs—please, tell them where Fred is, can they meet him? Deano explains that Fred died two years ago in an accident, he was crushed in the rubble.
Joe waves away happily, free. He calls out as he leaves the compound to Peb, saying, ‘Your father had always wanted to meet you, Pebbles!’
And then Deano takes Pebbles to processing to get their new assignment to work in the camp.
...And then I woke up.
… IT WAS AT THIS POINT I REALISED
…MY STUPID FUCKING BROKEN BRAIN
 HAD FUCKING
REBOOTED
A GRIM-DARK VERSION OF
…THE FUCKING FLINSTONES.

This is a piece of LunarLux fanart that I made for a holiday contest! It's a new year's light show in the city Copernicus, built over Luna's biggest water reserves. From right to left, these are Aldrid, Dycee & Peb, Melody (with a snowfriend plushie), and Paddy, a few of the town's residents.
I was considering whether to add snow falling in the city, and eventually decided on it because I had the idea that Luna's scientists would want to simulate winter for a day or a few for historical reasons.
Otherwise, I'm not sure if I got Aldrid's outfit exactly right, but I did my best! I definitely want to try to draw her again in the future.

Iterator OCs and Worldbuilding
Basically just the follow up to my post last night.
So just for some worldbuilding these fellas are a Local group on the other side of the continent from Pebs n Co.
Applied Blasphemy: They have a really interesting backstory, see the ancient city built on top of them was primarily one of religious fundamentalist who believed in ascension without the use of void fluid. Basically it was a conclave of monks. The leader of this city/conclave was one of Blasphemies closest companions and the two often debated the nature of reality and the soul. Of course Blasphemy being a fuckoff big supercomputer generally won the debates so one day, 8 Droplets upon a clear lake(said leader) made a wager with Blasphemy. He bet he would be able to retain himself even through reincarnation and swore to one day in the future return to Blasphemy so the two of them could have one last debate. This, of course, meant that droplets would no longer be pursuing ascension, which saw him publicly executed by his order. This act of blasphemy is actually what prompted Applied Blasphemy to give themselves that name, before that they went by Worthy Desires.
Age of Storms: Highly grumpy and irritable he’s the iterator furthest from the local group, though technically he’s still a part of it. He’s actually built up in the mountains and was built with the reduced water availability in mind. His puppet is teal and has a silver crescent on the forehead. He likes painting though, and he's covered his puppet room in his works, being up so high gives him a great vantage point for landscape painting.
Speaks Through the Clouds: He's excellent at finding loopholes in his programing, he used this to screw with the ascension of the ancients who built him and as such has a city full of echoes stuck on his can. When they were alive his population treated him poorly and the animosity was mutual. Still as time wears on he's come to regret his actions and has become one of the kindest iterators for miles. Now he spends his time researching methods to lessen the suffering of his echoes. His puppet colors are gold and deep blue. He likes long term plans and has patience remarkable even for an iterator. Basically he's the uncle Iroh of the group
Signals Lost in the Night: They’re an iterator from the time when the ancients were planning out the location of Iterators to maximize their longevity. This means that Night was specialized to perform a function in the broader network of Iterators. They were specifically designed to be a node in the global radio/signal network and as such have highly advanced long distance transmission and telemetry capabilities. They’re an absolute gossip as a response, and their structure has a suite of purposed organisms that both act as and repair radio systems. They’ve been working on creating a more efficient means of communication, especially because other communications Iterators specialized like them have begun failing and are a relative rarity now. Their puppet is deep purple with pearlescent white accents. The Watcher might be one of their messagers that was dispatched to repair the communication arrays by Pebbles. They are also the eldest of the group and as such are the leader.
Built Slightly Sideways: She was, as name suggests, built at an angle. It was a flaw that the person who designed her left intentionally in the hopes it would highlight that even the ancients weren’t infallible in their constructions. She and Peerless Architect share the same rift lake(albeit a small one). Due to her construction flaw her superstructure is constantly at risk of tipping and falling into the lake. Instead of despairing however she’s decided to find joy in every moment of life and works on her pet projects far more than on solving the great problem. She and Peerless are both crushing on eachother but argue constantly.
Peerless Architecture: She’s built across the lake from BSS and is massive even for a late gen iterator. She’s got highly enhanced structural supports on her can and has a corrosion proof outer surface. She spends most of her time working on the great problem and has been generously described as a hardass. She’s not as perfect as she outwardly appears however, and recently has had an experiment backfire on her, though she’s told no one yet.
Dreaming Deeply: He’s the youngest of this local group and is prone to flights of fancy, they're especially interest in the study of the psychology and social structures of slugcats and other such organisms. Has been experimenting with inducing dreams in Iterators recently. His puppet is bright blue and orange with white accents.

How PEB Structure Manufacturers are Revolutionizing Industrial Architecture?
Tumblr media
In the rapidly evolving world of construction, industrial architecture is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by innovation and efficiency. At the forefront of this revolution are PEB Structure Manufacturers who specialize in designing and constructing Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB). This modern approach to building has significantly altered how industries develop large-scale infrastructure, offering numerous advantages over traditional construction methods. In this article, we explore how PEB structure manufacturers are changing the game for industrial architecture and why their approach is the future of efficient, cost-effective building solutions.
What is a Pre-Engineered Building (PEB)?
A Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) is a steel structure that is designed, fabricated, and assembled using pre-determined engineering specifications. These structures are custom-designed to suit specific project requirements, typically used in large-scale industrial, commercial, and warehouse projects. Unlike conventional construction, PEBs are built using standard sections and connections, making the building process faster, more reliable, and more cost-efficient.
PEB Structure Manufacturers are the key players in this industry, responsible for designing, fabricating, and delivering the components of these structures to construction sites for easy assembly. Their role in streamlining the construction process is pivotal to the growth of the PEB market.
The Impact of PEB Structure Manufacturers on Industrial Architecture
1. Speed and Efficiency in Construction
One of the most significant advantages that PEB structure manufacturers offer is the speed at which they can deliver fully functional buildings. Traditional construction can take months or even years, as each phase must be completed sequentially. However, with PEBs, the building components are pre-fabricated and delivered to the site, where they are assembled like a puzzle.
This pre-engineered process allows for construction times to be cut by up to 50% compared to conventional methods. The efficiency of PEB structure manufacturers ensures that industrial projects can meet tight deadlines, helping businesses get up and running faster, which is critical for industries looking to expand or scale their operations quickly.
2. Cost-Effectiveness
Industrial projects are often capital-intensive, and cost overruns are common in traditional construction. Pre-engineered buildings reduce these risks by offering a more predictable and cost-effective approach. Since the materials are fabricated in controlled factory environments, PEB structure manufacturers can minimize waste, optimize material usage, and reduce labor costs.
Moreover, with fewer on-site complexities and faster assembly, PEBs lower the overall project cost. This is especially advantageous for industries that require large-scale facilities, such as warehouses, factories, and distribution centers, where even a slight reduction in cost per square foot can result in significant savings.
3. Customization and Versatility
One might think that Pre-Engineered Buildings are limited in design options because they use pre-fabricated components, but that’s far from the truth. PEB structure manufacturers offer immense flexibility in design, enabling them to cater to the specific needs of various industries. From wide-span spaces required for warehouses to high ceilings for industrial manufacturing plants, PEBs can be customized to meet almost any specification.
The modular nature of pre-engineered buildings also allows for easy expansion. If a business needs to grow, it can quickly add more sections to an existing structure without interrupting ongoing operations. This adaptability makes PEBs a preferred choice for industrial projects that anticipate future expansion.
4. Durability and Sustainability
Steel, the primary material used in pre-engineered buildings, is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to environmental factors such as wind, snow, and seismic activity. PEB structure manufacturers use high-quality steel to ensure that these buildings can withstand harsh industrial environments, making them ideal for factories, power plants, and other heavy-duty applications.
In addition to their strength, PEB structures are also environmentally friendly. Steel is 100% recyclable, and the precision of the pre-engineered process minimizes material wastage. Many PEB structure manufacturers also offer energy-efficient solutions, such as insulation and solar panel integration, helping industries reduce their carbon footprint and operate sustainably.
5. Reduced Maintenance Costs
Industrial facilities require durable buildings that can withstand the rigors of daily operations with minimal maintenance. PEB structures are engineered to be low-maintenance, thanks to their steel construction and precision-engineered components. Unlike traditional buildings, which may require frequent repairs due to wear and tear, pre-engineered buildings have fewer maintenance demands, saving businesses money in the long run.
Additionally, many PEB structure manufacturers offer warranties on their buildings, ensuring that any necessary repairs are covered and that the structure remains in excellent condition for years to come.
6. Compliance with Safety Standards
In industrial settings, safety is a top priority. PEB structure manufacturers design their buildings to comply with local and international safety standards, ensuring that the facilities they provide are safe for workers and equipment. Pre-engineered buildings are also fire-resistant, and their design can accommodate safety features such as fire exits, sprinklers, and ventilation systems.
By partnering with PEB structure manufacturers, industrial clients can ensure that their buildings meet all regulatory requirements, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring smooth operations.
The Future of Industrial Architecture
The rise of PEB structure manufacturers is transforming the way industries approach construction. Their ability to deliver cost-effective, durable, and customizable solutions in a fraction of the time it takes for traditional construction methods is revolutionizing industrial architecture. As more industries recognize the benefits of pre-engineered buildings, the demand for PEBs will continue to grow, driving further innovation and efficiency in the construction sector.
In addition to industrial applications, PEB structure manufacturers are expanding into commercial, institutional, and even residential sectors, making pre-engineered buildings a versatile solution for various architectural needs.
Conclusion
PEB structure manufacturers are playing a pivotal role in revolutionizing industrial architecture by offering faster, more efficient, and cost-effective construction solutions. With their ability to deliver customized and durable buildings that meet the specific needs of various industries, PEBs are the future of large-scale infrastructure development. As industries continue to evolve, the role of Pre-Engineered Building solutions will only grow, shaping the future of construction across the globe.

Prefab Factory Buildings - A Smart and Efficient Solution for Modern Industrial Needs
In today's fast-paced industrial landscape, the demand for quick, scalable, and cost-effective building solutions is more pressing than ever. Prefab factory buildings, also known as pre-engineered buildings (PEBs), have emerged as a preferred choice for businesses looking to set up industrial facilities in a timely and efficient manner. Whether it’s manufacturing, warehousing, or other industrial applications, prefab factory buildings offer unparalleled advantages in terms of flexibility, durability, and sustainability.
What Are Prefab Factory Buildings?
Prefab factory buildings are structures that are pre-engineered and manufactured off-site, usually in factories, before being transported to the location for assembly. These buildings are made using advanced technology, precision engineering, and modern materials like steel. All components—such as columns, beams, and panels—are designed, fabricated, and tested off-site to ensure they meet the specific requirements of the project. Once on-site, the building is quickly assembled, drastically reducing construction time.
Benefits of Prefab Factory Buildings
The popularity of prefab factory buildings is rising, thanks to the numerous benefits they offer over traditional construction methods. Here are some of the key advantages:
1. Faster Construction Time
The construction of traditional factory buildings can take months or even years due to the on-site fabrication of materials. In contrast, prefab factory buildings can be assembled in a fraction of the time because most of the work is done off-site. This results in a shorter construction timeline, allowing businesses to get up and running faster. Prefab structures are often ready for use within weeks, significantly reducing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
2. Cost-Effective
Cost is a critical factor in any industrial project, and prefab factory buildings provide significant savings compared to traditional construction. The manufacturing process for prefab buildings reduces waste and lowers labor costs. Moreover, because the structure is pre-engineered, fewer on-site labor hours are required, further driving down overall expenses. The quicker assembly also translates into savings on associated costs like site management and construction equipment rentals.
3. Design Flexibility
One of the main misconceptions about prefab factory buildings is that they offer limited design options. In reality, these structures can be tailored to meet a variety of industrial needs. Whether a company requires a small warehouse or a massive manufacturing plant, prefab buildings can be customized in terms of size, layout, and functional requirements. The flexibility of these designs also allows for easy future expansion if the business grows.
4. Durability and Strength
Prefab factory buildings are designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions, including heavy winds, seismic activity, and harsh weather. The use of high-quality materials like steel ensures the building is both strong and durable, offering long-term reliability. Prefab buildings also undergo stringent quality checks during the manufacturing process, ensuring that they meet industry standards and are free from construction defects.
5. Eco-Friendly Construction
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the construction industry, and prefab factory buildings are a greener alternative to conventional methods. The controlled factory environment allows for efficient use of resources, reducing material waste. Additionally, many prefab structures incorporate energy-efficient materials, leading to reduced energy consumption in the long run. The quicker construction times also reduce the environmental impact associated with prolonged on-site activities like transportation and machinery use.
Applications of Prefab Factory Buildings
Prefab factory buildings are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. Some of the most common uses include:
Manufacturing Facilities: Large production floors, specialized equipment, and assembly lines can easily be housed within a prefab structure.

This method offers a wide range of advantages over traditional construction, making it a preferred choice for many sectors, including commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Why Choose Engko's Prefabricated Solutions?
At Engko, we understand that construction projects need to be efficient, reliable, and adaptable. Our prefabricated structures offer:
1. Faster Construction Time
Time is money, especially in construction. Prefabrication significantly reduces project timelines because the building components are produced off-site while the foundation is prepared. Once the components arrive, assembly is quick and seamless. This parallel process helps reduce overall construction time by up to 50%.
2. Cost-Effective
One of the biggest advantages of prefabricated structures is their cost efficiency. By reducing on-site labor, minimizing waste, and shortening project timelines, Engko helps you save both time and money. Our precision-engineered components ensure little to no material waste, and the controlled manufacturing environment minimizes the chances of costly errors.
3. Quality Control
Every component we produce is manufactured under strict quality control guidelines. Engko leverages cutting-edge technology and modern techniques to ensure that every element of our prefabricated structures is made to the highest standards. This level of precision is difficult to achieve with traditional on-site construction, where various external factors can affect the outcome.
4. Sustainability
Prefabrication is an eco-friendly construction method. Since the components are produced in a factory, we can minimize waste and reduce the carbon footprint of the construction process. Additionally, transporting materials to the site is more efficient, further reducing emissions. Engko is committed to sustainable practices and continually explores innovative ways to minimize environmental impact.
5. Customization & Flexibility
Our prefabricated structures are highly customizable, giving clients the freedom to design buildings according to their specific requirements. Whether you need a warehouse, an exhibition hall, or a railway shelter, Engko provides bespoke solutions tailored to your unique needs. Our designs are flexible, allowing for future expansions or modifications.
6. Durability
Despite the quick construction process, there is no compromise on quality or durability. Prefabricated structures by Engko are built to last, using high-strength materials that can withstand various environmental conditions. Our railway shelters, warehouses, and exhibition halls are designed to be structurally sound and resistant to wear and tear.

Sorry you’re dealing with travel delays! When you mentioned Domhnall Gleeson, though, it reminded me of when I first switched my Siri voice to the British male one. (I was going to say “don’t ask why” but I’m sure you don’t need to.) And my husband and I used my Siri to direct us to the science museum…
My husband looked at me like 😒
“Why is Hux directing us to the butterfly conservatory? 😒”
(It’s just the slightest vocal similarity, and maybe just to him and me, but it made me laugh)
Hello there sweet Lady!
And thank you for the fun prompt. It definitely kept my imagination occupied during the travel blues. I hope you enjoy this little bit of swooning over villainous British voices. This is new for me. I've never written Hux, second-person perspective, gender neutral reader, or a short drabble before, so lots of firsts!
Much love!

Drifting back from unconsciousness, the first thing you heard was that voice; crisp, cold, polished, sharp enough to enact death by a thousand subtle, strategic, cuts. It was mesmerizing, pulling you back to wakefulness with an iron grip. Your eyelids flutter open to a mere squint under the bright lights and shiny black surfaces. There's something covering your mouth, pushing air into your lungs and you breathe it in desperately.
A mirthless chuckle. “Ah. There you are. Welcome back.” He gives an order and the mask is gone, the air is gone, and his threatening presence seems to steal all of it from the room. “Leave us,” he commands the medical technicians, and you hear them funnel out with a hiss of the door.
It comes back to you; the research station you were working on marred by flames and swarming with storm troopers. You were injured badly and so were your colleagues (the ones who were still alive, anyway). You were shoved before him, hands cuffed behind your back, and soot staining your white lab uniform. His shiny boots striding purposefully towards you were all you could see as your head hung in shock and grief.
“And what have we here?” he inquired, lifting your chin with one long, leather-clad finger.
He didn't expect to be struck by how beautiful your face was; compassionate and clever eyes, a bravery in them despite overwhelming fear. Even covered in soot and abrasions, hair disheveled, it only made him want you more. It jostled his immaculate composure and made him warm under the crisp black uniform, but he would never show it.
You spoke, though your voice shook with fear and anger. “A scientist...just a scientist. This was a peaceful operation, a research facility...Why? Why did you have to do this?”
Hux wasn't accustomed to emotion breaching his Teflon coating of ambition, but something about the vulnerability in your voice made him ache to touch you, soothe you with that hypnotic voice telling you it was all for a greater good, of course, all for order in the galaxy, you sweet innocent darling. He settled on doing so, but with a shield of sardonic teasing.
He tutted, yanking your face to meet his eyes with that icy, gloved hand. Hux peaked his brows in mock sympathy, though his piercing green eyes held none. “Oh, but it is all for the greater good, my dear. You'll see.” His voice dropped to a deep whisper, as his face moved closer. “And it will be my pleasure to personally show you.” As the implication of his words set in, you felt horrified at the unbidden heat rising in your body; the unmistakable fizzle of arousal snaking its way between your legs. He loomed, tall and thin, that brilliant red hair and green eyes reminding you of a fox playing with an injured rodent.
Now, with your back against the cold medical slab, prone and vulnerable and isolated with the dreaded General Hux, terror and temptation swirled within your body. His face, that beautiful lethal face, moved to a hair's breadth form your own as your breaths became shorter and quicker. His hand cupped your cheek gently, this time without the wall of leather between your skin. A tear slid from your eye and he brushed over it gently with his thumb.
“Now, darling,” the general said, with surprising tenderness, “Where were we?”
