Exploring Mundane Astrology: Understanding the Cosmic Influence on World Events
Introduction
Astrology, often associated with personal horoscopes and individual destinies, has a broader, more encompassing branch known as mundane astrology. Derived from the Latin word "mundus," meaning "world," mundane astrology seeks to understand and predict the cosmic influence on global events, societal trends, and national affairs. This ancient practice dates back to the Babylonians and has been used by various cultures to interpret and forecast the rise and fall of empires, natural disasters, and significant historical events. As we delve into the intricacies of mundane astrology, we'll uncover how the movements of celestial bodies can reflect and, perhaps, shape the collective experiences of humanity.

Understanding the Basics of Mundane Astrology
Mundane astrology operates on the principle that celestial events influence earthly occurrences. Unlike natal astrology, which focuses on individual birth charts, mundane astrology examines the horoscopes of nations, cities, and significant global events. Astrologers use various charts, including ingress charts (which map the moment the Sun enters a new zodiac sign), eclipses, and planetary conjunctions, to gain insights into world affairs.
Ingress Charts: These charts are crucial in mundane astrology. The most notable is the Aries ingress chart, created for the moment the Sun enters Aries, marking the astrological New Year. Astrologers analyze the positions of planets in this chart to forecast global trends for the upcoming year.
Eclipse Charts: Eclipses have historically been considered omens of significant change. Solar and lunar eclipses are analyzed to understand their potential impact on world events. The house in which an eclipse falls in a national chart can indicate areas of transformation or upheaval.
Planetary Cycles and Conjunctions: Long-term planetary cycles, such as those of Jupiter and Saturn, are particularly important. The conjunctions of these planets, occurring approximately every 20 years, have been linked to shifts in political and social structures. The Great Conjunction of 2020, for instance, was seen as heralding a new era of change.

Applications of Mundane Astrology
Mundane astrology has been employed to predict a wide range of events, from political upheavals to natural disasters. For instance, astrologers might look at the ingress chart of a country to forecast its economic outlook or examine the aspects of Mars to predict military conflicts. Historical events, such as the fall of the Roman Empire or the French Revolution, have been analyzed through the lens of mundane astrology, providing a cosmic context to these pivotal moments.
Moreover, mundane astrology is not limited to the past. Contemporary astrologers continue to use these techniques to anticipate future trends. For example, the economic turmoil of 2008 was foreshadowed by significant astrological configurations, including a challenging alignment of Saturn and Uranus.
Conclusion
Mundane astrology offers a fascinating perspective on the interconnectedness of cosmic and earthly events. By studying the movements of celestial bodies and their influence on world affairs, mundane astrologers provide valuable insights into the patterns and cycles that shape our collective experience. Whether predicting political changes, social movements, or natural disasters, this branch of astrology reminds us of the intricate web of connections that bind the universe and our planet.
As we navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world, the ancient wisdom of mundane astrology can serve as a guiding light, helping us understand the broader forces at play. Embracing this cosmic perspective allows us to see beyond the immediate and gain a deeper appreciation for the ebb and flow of history and its celestial counterparts.

Media: Star Trek
Year/my age: 2020/30
What drew me to the media:
Okay! To be far, I was a fan since birth. In the back of our VHS cabinet, an entire wall of the shelf was made up of The Original Series. I think it was 30 or so tapes? Each vhs case was a uniform gray. My dad was a fanatic since childhood. They watched the Next Generation before my memory began. Deep Space Nine played in the background of my life and then Voyager. They separated when Enterprise was running. Star Trek is in my blood.
I watched TOS alone in college the same year I got interested in the Labyrinth. It's goofy. It's shakespearean. The OT3 is potent! I had fun but it didn't leave much of an impression on me besides: 'I like Spock. Kirk is a doofus. I like Bones.' After college that was it. I put Star Trek away.
For the next few years I dabbled with the Next Generation, but it's uhhhh... just not very interesting for me.
So what the fuck was my problem with it? I'm a sci fi fan! Yaknow! This is my heritage! This is my calling! But I was always lowkey pissed at Star Trek, and I continue to be.
And this is something that frustrates me about Star Trek fans, is no one wants to talk about things they don't like about the shows. I mentioned a plot of a novel I was working on to a group of writers and someone (as someone does) was like 'oh yes, like Star Trek!'
I scratched my head and said, pitifully, 'well, you know, I sort of have a lot of issues with Star Trek.'
"What!? But Star Trek is the best!"
But like...is it?
And since it doesn't seem to allow space for critique, it's sort of hard for me to get my feelings out about my hangups with it. I'll try my best.
To really understand why I didn't like the Next Generation is I sort of needed to experience Farscape before I could approach it again.
This is my biggest hangup about it.
I have a hard time understanding a future where everyone has the same motivation for being and existing together in space. Star Trek is very utilitarian. It's carpeted corridors. It's a little sexless (The Original Series got around this but it's also very dated sexiness). It can be so SERIOUS. It's militaristic (yes it's a peace mission to explore the galaxy but the organization of the ship is so uninspired for me). And even when the crew encounters a complex moral dilemma, it always feels like they get on top of it in the best way possible. Everyone is fit in this world. Everyone is healthy in this world. They shape human culture as if we "achieved" perfection somewhere along the past.
And it drives me FUCKING CRAZY.
The world of Star Trek is not a future I want at all!
Sorry I'm such a messy slut, but like it really dilutes the complexity of existence to the most utilitarian and predictable. The Starship Enterprise reminds me of past work environments that do 'culture hiring' for fuck's sake!
In short, the storytelling bothers me. The characters both me. And I wish we fans could have a conversation about why Star Trek *isn't* perfect and why as a the leading sci fi franchise it needs to embrace being more fucked up.
What made me a fan:
Deep Space Nine baby! What I just said above was completely voided on that fucked up space station because it's about a bunch of people that have to learn to live with each other despite having varied life experiences and view points. They aren't going to all get along. That's a good thing. People make mistakes here. Bad ones.
Some of the more batshit characters exist in this series. Garak is fucking wild. Like WTF. Gul Dukat is the WORST. Kai Winn SUCKS. Quark!? IS GREAT. Odo???? I LOVE MY JELLOMAN KIND OF FASCIST???? OR NOT? THE HOTTEST WOMEN EVER ARE IN THIS SHOW AND ONE OF THEM KISSES ANOTHER WOMAN. Kira and Jadzia are like so good. Sisko is fucking great. Miles o Brian is back being traumatized and has some fantastic episodes. Season 2 there is a three person pregnancy. People dying really knocked the legs out of me. Weyon is the fucking cutest dumpster fire evil clone.
DS9 really helped me see Star Trek differently. It's a really good story from start to end, which I feel like the procedural nature of the other series has a tough time grappling.
The problem characters add so much zest to plots too. It's one of the first Star Treks that I actively see trajectories of characters when they aren't on screen.
Like Garak/Bashir example. Bashir would be interested in the giant lizard spy, because he's obsessed with subterfuge. They probably have some weird friends with benefits situation until the Wire. Then it's more serious. But when war starts, they get distant again. Julian is grappling with his identity. He shifts to hanging with Miles a lot more as the war gets hot. He gets drafted into being a spy. They have the weird prison camp 'adventure' yikes. When they finally separate at the end, with Garak finally being able to return to Cardassia but it's fucking wrecked and Julian says goodbye. There is a REAL MATERIAL SADNESS THERE. And that's only one example of show dynamics. I can imagine a lot of his weird mental jumps beyond the plot of the show just in subtext.
I remember showing DS9 to the hubs and being like 'why didn't you tell me this show rocked?' and he was like 'you know I don't think I thought of this show as highly as I do no rewatching it with you. it's really one of the best star trek series.'
YES THANK YOU.
Have I written fanfiction for it? Why or why not?
I have. I wrote a really short one shot about Odo pining for Kira. I liked the Odo/Kira pairing. Heart of Stone really blasted me. I knew that he was going to develop a crush on Kira because someone told me, but that episode is SO SPICY. Like no one expected that jelly dude to want to with Kira, who was like so adored by so many people. AH. I still love it.
Just thinking about it again. I should've written more. I had the ideas. But I was sort of bogged down with the other things I was writing at the time, and writing Star Trek fanfiction is also intimidating. It's a big fandom. There is so much lore that I can't even begin to grapple with.
I also knew that if I started on any of my ideas they would spin out of control. I'm long-winded. Even if I say 'I'll keep this short' working on a project generates more ideas for me.
I really really love DS9. I really love ALL THE CHARACTERS. Where do I even start? I'd be at it forever.
Opinion on the fandom:
I've already mentioned my hang ups with the fans, but I love the fandom. Star Trek fans are widespread. They exist in so many people. This show has touched so many people in so many ways for generations. It will continue to matter to our stories and culture.
But thanks to DS9 reorganizing my atoms or whatever, I can watch other Star Trek shows again (at least for a bit). I think I'm halfway through Voyager. I'll probably finish it some day. I'm excited to one day start Enterprise.
Would I read it again?
Sure! Ya!

Abbie is Pregnant w/ Her and John’s 2nd Child!
Get The Data (and Predictions) Here.
Tumblr media
On Mother’s Day (May 8, 2022), Abbie (Burnett) Duggar announced that she’s expecting Baby #2, a boy, in “late summer.”  She married John David Duggar on November 3, 2018, and so far they’ve had 1 Daughter, Gracie (b. 2020).
[ Permalink to Pregnancy Announcement ]
Read on for all the data!
Approximate Due Date (ADD)
Per the Pregnancy Announcement, Duggar–Burnett #2 is due in “late summer.” Duggar Data would general defines “summer” as the months of June, July, and August, inclusive—but still, “late summer” is pretty vague.  So, let’s take a look at the data, and see if it helps us narrow things down...
John + Abbie have had one prior pregnancy (Gracie).  That time, they revealed the pregnancy on August 1, 2019.  Gracie’s Due Date was January 12, 2020—so, Abbie was 116 Days Along when they went public the pregnancy.  If Abbie was also 116 Days Along this time around, her May 8, 2022 would correspond to a Due Date of October 17, 2022.  Obviously, that’s not right, since they said the baby’s due in “late summer.”  So...  The data doesn’t help us much.
With nothing but “late summer” to go on, Duggar Data is going to use August 31, 2022 as Abbie’s Approximate Due Date (ADD), for the time being.  I chose that date because it’s about as “late summer” as you can get.
Projected DOB + Child Spacing
With Gracie, Abbie gave birth 5 Days Early (on January 7, with a Due Date of January 12 per Counting On).  With an ADD of August 31—and assuming she delivers 5 Days Early again—that’s a Projected DOB of August 26, 2022.
Grace was born on January 7, 2020.  If Duggar–Burnett #2 arrives on August 26, 2022, that’s a Child Spacing of 962 Days (2.63 Years).  This is one of the longest Child Spacings ever for a 2nd–Generation Duggar Couple.  (Actually, the only longer one is the Theoretical Spacing for Sam–to–River Bliss Dillard, had Jill not miscarried.  That would’ve been ~1,711 Days.)
Abbie suffered hyperemesis gravidarum (HE)—severe, persistent nausea and vomiting, far beyond typical “morning sickness”—with her 1st Pregnancy (w/ Gracie).  John + Abbie haven’t revealed if she is similarly ill during Pregnancy #2, but there’s a good chance she is, since HE often recurs.
Tumblr media
Early, Late, or What?
Definitely late.  Based on John + Abbie’s Wedding–to–Firstborn Spacing (430 Days) and the current (until their Pregnancy Announcement) Duggar 2nd Child Multiplier (1.5688x), the Duggar–Burnetts would have been expected to have a Gracie–to–Baby #2 Spacing of 675 Days.  If so, they would’ve welcomed Baby #2 on November 12, 2021.
Obviously, that didn’t happen!  Now that they’ve announced, it looks like they will welcome Baby #2 on August 26, 2022 instead, which is 287 Days (or 9.4 Months) Later than the 2nd Child Multiplier’s forecast...  That’s definitely late!
Impact on 2nd Child Multiplier
Grace arrived 430 Days after John + Abbie’s Wedding.  Duggar–Burnett #2 is expected to arrive 962 Days after Gracie.  Comparing 962 Days to 430 Days, John + Abbie’s 2nd Child Spacing is 2.2372x their Marriage–to–#1 Spacing.
Immediately prior to John + Abbie’s 2nd Pregnancy Reveal, the Duggars’ 2nd Child Multiplier was 1.5688x, on average.  Each Duggar Couple’s Multiplier— from largest to smallest—is as follows...
2.5294x   Jill + Derick
2.2372x   John + Abbie
1.9524x   Joy + Austin
1.8755x   Joe + Kendra
1.5199x   John + Anna
1.2439x   Jessa + Ben
1.1320x   Jinger + Jeremy
No Data   Jed + Katey, Jer + Hannah, Justin + Claire
As you can see, John + Abbie’s 2nd Child Multiplier is second largest, after Jill + Derick’s.  When John + Abbie’s is averaged in with the rest, the Duggar 2nd Child Multiplier shifts from 1.5688x to 1.7131x (+9%).
Impact on Procreative Pace / ESOQ
John + Abbie’s Procreative Pace (PP) is now based entirely on their Projected Grace–to–Baby #2 Spacing, since that’s their only Non–Firstborn Spacing.
As a result, their Procreative Pace (PP) for any future pregnancies is now 962 Days (or 2.63 Years).  Immediately after Gracie’s Birth, their Estimated PP—based on their Firstborn Spacing and the Duggars’ 2nd Child Multiplier—was 766 Days (196 Days Faster).  As a result, they are expected to have children a lot slower than before.  With a 962–Day PP, their ESOQ is now 5 Children—a modest quiver, by Duggar standards!  That’s down from 6 Children, right after Gracie’s birth.
When To Expect Duggar–Burnett #3
Based on available data, here’s what the Predictor expects—
Baby News   November 30, 2024
Due Date   April 19, 2025
Projected DOB   April 14, 2025

The devout and observant Christian is undoubtedly aware of the precarious state of the faith in our modern world and is becoming increasingly open to out-of-the-box solutions. One such possible solution is to take a cue from our bearded Amish neighbors and form rule-based religious communities—but maybe without the horse and buggy.
A brief peak at the current state of American Christianity should disabuse anybody of the notion that this is unnecessarily drastic.
America’s traditional Mainline Protestant denominations are bleeding out so quickly they will likely be gone within 20 years. That is not my prediction, but their own. The ELCA (the main Lutheran branch) projects they’ll only have 16,000 worshippers by 2041; the PCUSA (the main Presbyterian branch) lost almost 40% of their members in the last decade, causing one analyst to note, “At its current rate of shrinkage the PC(USA) will not exist in about 20 years;” and data for the Episcopal Church shows the same 20-year timeline until the denomination runs out of people in the pews.
More conservative denominations used to chuckle at these headlines and say, “If only they preached the Gospel instead of liberal activism, they’d be growing like us.” But they don’t say that anymore. The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest of the Evangelical churches, has lost 14% of their members since 2006; the Methodists are losing members while in the middle of a brutal split; and for Catholics, according to Bishop Robert Barron while speaking at the 2019 bishops’ annual conference, “Half the kids that we baptized and confirmed in the last 30 years are now ex-Catholics or unaffiliated.”
There is one major exception, though: the Amish—a mustard seed that is growing into a large tree in front of our eyes. The Amish arrived in the United States shortly after their founder, Jakob Ammann, split with the Mennonites in 1693 for being too lax on enforcing their communal rules, as laid out in the Dordrecht Confession of Faith. For the next 200 years, the Amish were just a few eccentric families in Pennsylvania that spoke an archaic Swiss German. By 1920, these few families had grown to 5,000 people and since then have doubled about every 15 to 20 years, including between 2000 and 2020 when they doubled to 351,000.
Unless something changes drastically within their culture, this doubling is projected to continue. One demographer, Lyman Stone, showed that at their current rate of growth, they will easily make up a majority of the United States in 200 years. This means the current moment may mark the halfway point between them arriving as a small band of friends and their inheriting the most powerful nation on the planet. They may seem like a backwards remnant of the past, but in reality, they will almost certainly play a major role in the future. This will become more evident after they soon dwarf more well-known churches like the Episcopalians and Lutherans.
So, when virtually all other Christian groups are seeing plummeting, or at best stagnant, numbers, why are the Amish seeing growth like this? The answers people typically give are that they have a very high birth rate and an over 90% retention rate. But that’s like saying someone is wealthy because they made a lot of money and then saved most of it. It begs the question—how? How do they have such large families—with 6 or 7 children per woman—while the country at large has a below-replacement rate of 1.6 children? And how are they able to keep all those children within their communities?
I believe it all comes down to one thing—the Code—or as the Amish call it, the Ordnung.
The Amish Ordnung is different in each community, but if it strays too far, other communities will no longer associate with that community; so there are limits. While outside observers will just see strict rules about hats and beards and technology use, the Amish see the glue that holds them together as a people.
It’s very important to realize that each rule is chosen as a group and with the goal of strengthening individual virtue (especially humility), family and community ties, and their faith.
As an example, most Amish communities don’t allow phones in their homes, but it’s not because they think phones are inherently evil and ban them completely. They often have shared phone booths at the end of the street to use when necessary and at their places of work. They just don’t have phones in the home because they believe it will take away from the purposes of a home—things like family bonding, chores, and recreation. Nobody who has sat in a room of family and friends all silently swiping at their phones can tell me their concern isn’t warranted.
The success of this model was discussed by Eric Kaufmann, a political-demography scholar at the University of London, in his provocative 2010 book, Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?: Demography and Politics in the Twenty-first Century. Kaufmann noted the growth of groups like the Amish and the Haredi Jews (often called the Ultra-Orthodox) and attributed it to their birth rates and strong communities. Haredi Jews, for example, who also live by strict community codes, were only a few percentage points of the Israeli schools in 1960 but are now about a third of students, and he predicts they will very soon eclipse secular Jews. Haredi growth in Brooklyn, New York, is seeing similar growth, with high birth rates and retention.
Laurence R. Iannaccone’s 1994 study “Why Strict Churches Are Strong,” which has been frequently cited and confirmed since, gives more detail on the success of certain community codes.
Iannaconne found that groups can be strict on items as long as they provide a “close substitute.” Think, for example, of banning social media but then providing a lot of new in-person social opportunities to make up for that sacrifice.
“Strictness works,” he says, but the rules can’t be so strict they make people miserable and drive them away, or as Iannaconne says, “Arbitrary strictness will fail just as surely as excessive strictness.” The rules do have to be strong enough, though, to keep “free-riders” from claiming the benefits of the community without participating. He called these rules “costly signals,” like the sacrifices the Amish make by limiting their clothing styles and technology use. A person would be very unlikely to go through all of those costly steps for community benefits they could get more easily elsewhere. By eliminating free-riders—whose mere presence dilutes a group’s resources, reducing the average level of participation, enthusiasm, energy, and the like”—they see the reverse, very high levels of participation, enthusiasm, and energy.
It’s not just Amish and Haredi Jews that have seen success with following a community code beyond the laws of the state—think of the monastics who survived in far-flung places relying on The Rule of St. Benedict; knights that followed the Codes of Chivalry; bands of cowboys on the American frontier who stuck close to the Code of the West, which gave detailed guidance on passing strangers on the trail, when to tip your hat, and with which hand you should hold your whiskey; and the tribes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border who have followed the Pashtunwali code since pre-Islamic times.
Modern Christians interested in starting a rule-based community would need to create some real benefits that are harder to come by in society at large. I’d suggest the basic benefits of a traditional community (help with childcare and schooling, coherent customs on dating and marriage, providing purpose and companionship to the elderly, cultural celebrations and gatherings, friendship, and assistance during hardship) would be plenty.
Then, they could agree together on some basic rules that are costly enough to separate the serious from the free-riders while not being arbitrary or unnecessarily strict. Targeting the rules toward areas that are particular downfalls for modern Americans (promiscuity, pornography, social media, screen-addiction, substance abuse) would be a good start. Agreeing to forego these in this time and culture would almost certainly be a costly enough signal.
Also, many of the rules should take into account issues like abuse of power, cults of personality, convenient personal revelations from God, sexual abuse, and a host of other issues inherent to tight-knit communities (and larger ones for that matter). The ability for a trusted leader to turn out to be an evil psychopath should never be underestimated, so rules should take that likelihood as a given and guard against it. The Amish, for example, draw straws to choose their leaders to avoid jockeying for power.
One last consideration is to what extent “walling yourself off from the modern world,” as Kaufmann said, is appropriate. Kaufmann said that was the best strategy for growth, but growth is not the only thing to weigh. There are also things like loving your neighbors, having an influence on the greater culture, and not stifling curiosity and creativity. Some walls are necessary, like between a teen boy and pornographic websites or between a child and an activist teacher, but a balance between walls and open spaces should be carefully pursued as a group. For example, language is used as a wall for the Amish (who speak Pennsylvania Dutch) and the Haredi Jews (who largely speak Yiddish), but that would likely be a step too far for most communities, as would their highly-detailed clothing restrictions.
Out-of-the-box? Sure. But with the exponential growth of the Amish and similar rule-based communities (and our own failure to find a workable model for modern Christian life) it may be a paradigm to consider. Even without our participation, it will certainly be how a fair amount of future Christians will live.

A totally self indulgent compilation of my favorite works on this blog of the year June 13, 2020 - June 13, 2021
2019-2020
The following lists are all in chronological order according to the date each post was first published.
Top 10 panel edits:
Tumblr media
#1: It's our first morning
Date: Aug 20th, 2020 Time: ~ 2:18 h I really like how this one turned out!!! The 2020 Emma b-day edit has a lot of major panel redraws, but this is probably my favorite. I I really enjoy how I made the shadows work!! And the ear banfage looks pretty neat. Nice!!! Immagine
Tumblr media
#2: Norman birthday edit 2021
Date: Mar 20th, 2021 Time: ~ 2:21 h Awww, soft Norman :') There was a bit to redraw, but I think everything turned out pretty neat!!! I believe everything works out fine. Though looking back at it, the part of the ID I added is definitely top small :')
Tumblr media
#3: Manga dub: Yuugo gets knocked out
Date: Mar 27th, 2021 Time: ~ 5:05 h Here start the Manga Dub redraws to which I gave my everything ahah. This one turned out nice! I think the shoes turned out particularly good eheh. I like how Yuugo's clothing lineart- for the texture, I wanted to go for something heterogeneous, but I'm not fully confident in the final result. Gilda looks very rushed but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tumblr media
#4: Manga dub: Yuugo makes his dramatic entrance
Date: Apr 5th, 2021 Time: ~ 4:02 h This is pretty cool!!!! The coat took ages to redraw, but sis it turned out perfect!!! I'm very proud of this.
Tumblr media
#5: Manga dub: RayGildEmma hug!!!
Date: Apr 9th, 2021 Time: ~ 1:31 h Awww, a beautiful panel I was really happy to have the chance to redraw. Taking into account what there was to redraw, I'm actually surprised with how little this took! Ray's backpack was a pain to make, but I think it turned out fine. I'm very happy with Emma and Ray's heads!!
Tumblr media
#6: Manga dub: Formalities
Date: Apr 12th, 2021 Time: ~ 5:31 h It is not always easy to give sense to Demizu's perspective, but I do my best!!! In this I am *so* happy with how Don and Ray turned out, they look neat! The background on the other hand... It took hours to make ahah. I'm not fully confident in the perspective, but I'm happy with the details I've added- I really did my best to make it look like athe other manga panels and I think it paid off!!!
Tumblr media
#7: Manga dub: We may be weaklings, but we're still alive
Date: Apr 30th, 2021 Time: ~ 1:37 h This little Emma is so cute!!!!!! I think the redraw turned out pretty perfect. I'm really satisfied with how this one turned out, and it's such a cute little Emma!!!! She's so brave and optimistic, I love her. It's a shame this panel didn't make it to the episode :')
Tumblr media
#8: Manga dub: Goldy Pond Gang
Date: May 7th, 2021 Time: ~ 8:44 h lmao This is probably the panel redraw I'm the most proud of ever :') Just think everyone turned out very nice!! The ceiling is not exactly perfect, but it still works somehow. I'm very happy with how Gillian's back turned out!! I don't really like the fading effect on the right, but 8h in I got pretty tired of working on this ahah
Tumblr media
#9: Manga dub: This is Goldy Pond
Date: May 21st, 2021 Time: ~ 1:29 h I'm very glad for how the Manga dub has been challenging me to learn to redraw backgrounds, something I had quite literally never tried before. It can be a little frustrating, but it's so satisfying to see the final cleaned piece!! With this panel, I also learnt to use copy and paste, which is something I had never done before beyond texture
Tumblr media
#10: Manga dub: Good morning doctor
Date: May 21st, 2021 Time: ~ 3:42 h This is another background that turned out pretty good!! That one Norman is one I knew I would have had to fully redraw sooner or lager- the background was a bonus ahah. I'm very happy with the final result!!
Top 5 edits as whole:
#1: The Promised Neverland manga ending edit
Date: Jun 14th 2020 Time: ~ 12h 41min (5h 45min of cleaning panels in the edit + 5h 37min of cleaning panels that didn't make it to the edit + 1h 19min of resizing) + time spent cleaning panels I've deleted the file of so I can't see lmao This is overall very nice!!! The concept of an Emma evolution through her back is cool, and I think overall the edit turned out very aesthetically pleasing. The concept idea came to me while I was working on the 2019 Emma's birthday edit, a long time before the manga ending announcement- back then I wouldn't have imagined using it in occasion of the manga ending, but I think it ended up making a nice tribute. The colors add a nice touch, since so far my edits had always been black and white- it makes a sweet closure. To make that edit I selected 76 panels of Emma framed from her back; I plan to make other versions of that edit using the discarded panels eventually!
#2: Emma - Chapter 181: Beyond Destiny
Date: Jul 12th 2020 Time: 2h 57min My last edit for the manga 🥺🥺 I think this one is my very "manga ending edit" because to me it really signed the ending of weekly chapters and their weekly chapter edits. It makes me a little sad to look at it, but it's also, I don't know, kinda sweet to see how I grew both in my panel cleaning and as a person since I first started my blog. I'm glad I got into TPN!
#3: Emma birthday edit 2020
Date: Aug 22nd 2020 Time: 8h 54min This one turned out so well!!! Though I used the same concept for all the trio edits, I think this one is the best one. The two panels on the left / two panels on the right alternation combo never fails ahah. The colors are nice (shout-out to my sister for making me a palette), despite the fact that it was hard for the lighter ones to make them work with the images without having those disappear. I'm very satisfied with the panels I chose for this, I think they work really good together! Also, it got me very happy to read everyone's comments saying they liked the fading effect in the last panel :)
#4: Emma + Eyes Close Ups [1/?]
Date: Jan 24th 2021 Time: 5h 55min This one was really nice!! Another idea I got when working on the 2019 Emma birthday edit I was glad to finally execute. Started the edit in September, finished it in December. I'm overall very happy with how it turned out... I hope I will be able to make more in the future!
#5: The Promised Neverland Parallels → (9/?) » 114 // 122
Date: Feb 23th 2021 Time: 5h 7min (panel cleaning only) Aaaaahh I really like this one!!!! A parallel I love very much, and I'm really happy with how the edit turned out. All the hair redrawing looks neat!!!! The gif is maybe a little excessive, but I think overall it's a nice edit. I like it!!! Fun fact, I completed it on August 26th 2020, but I couldn't find the right moment to post it ahah.
Honorable mention: The Promised Neverland Parallels → (5/?) » 08 // 16
Date: Aug 30th 2020 Time: 2h 52min (Second picture cleaning only; I deleted the first picture art file so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) I don't have much to say about this one except!! It turned out very nice!!!!! Love the pen lmao.
Top 10 analysis:
Too many analysis,,
#1: Post chapter 181 Emma analysis
Date: Jul 9th 2020 Mmmh a nice analysis. I think it was important for me to put down in words what I think of Emma's characterization and the manga ending, so I'm happy I did it!
#2: A long Oliver analysis because I love him very much
Date: Dec 6th 2020 What can I say I just love Oliver tons 😔😔💕💕 This was very fun to make!!!
#3: TPN s2 previsions
Date: Jan 14th 2021 Really love the effort that went into this + me proving that 11 episodes GP could have possibly worked + it's just a lot of fun to read again after s2 ended pffft
#4: More s2 delusional previsions lmao
Date: Jan 27th 2021 I think the points and previsions I made where pretty neat!! In my defense, it was pretty impossible to predict the anime would have ended with this season. I always feel honoured when friends and Anon ask for my opinion, I'm like "you wanna know what I think? Wow. I'm flattered (◍•ᴗ•◍) " Thank you to anyone who ever sent me an ask!!
#5: Why Emma not wearing pants is 𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕘
Date: Jan 29th 2021 Really proud of this!!! Pants Emma is important!!!!!
#6: Post episode 5 manga Emma analysis
Date: Feb 4th 2021 A depressed analysis, but a necessary one 😔
#7: Norman analysis
Date: Feb 12th 2021 I love him!!!! And I'm happy I eventually got to put down in words what I love about his character. The day I posted this ww3.readneverland was in maintenance so I couldn't use the volume scans for it- the thought of that post having fan edited and fan translated scans still haunts me
#8: RayDon rambles
Date: May 12th 2021 I had a blast writing this and like. It's likely the post of mine I reread more often of them all. I love this ship tons!!!!! I'm satisfied with how I put down in words what I like about them. I LOVE THIS SHIP
#9: Chapter 58 analysis
Date: May 23th 2021 I've wanted to express this concept since like the first time reading the manga- I'm so happy I finally did!!!! This concept is one of my absolute favorite things about tpn- the feelings that people are good. The concept that kids who got to live in an healthy and supportive environment will always be inclined to kindness and altruism, because humans are just inherently good. From the Three Character Classic: “people at birth are inherently good”. I want to have faith and courage to hold on the goodness in myself, and to hold on the goodness in the world, no matter how difficult it to do that (Chloé Zhao).
#10: Norman and Lambda squad relationship analysis
Date: May 24th 2021 I think this was a pretty sharp analysis and I like what I did with it!!
Other stuff:
#1: Krone birthday edit
Date: Jul 15th 2020 This edit is so good ;; Like not perfect since it was my first attempt at coloring gifs but still I believe it turned out so good ;;;;;; The time and effort that went unto this is crazy, but... Maybe I'm happy to have dedicated time to something I like for a satisfying result.
#2: Get to know my ship- Wolfpack Trio
Date: Aug 24th 2020 Uuuh a good post. A good ship.
#3: Gilda + blank glasses
Date: Aug 27th 2020 This is such a cute nice compilation!!! I love looking at it. A few panels are missing but still :')
#4: Apollo Ray AU
Date: Sep 7th 2020 (Though it was written Sep 2nd 2019 lmao) I'm so happy I finally gathered the courage to post this 😭😭 I really enjoy what I did with this AU, so this one and its other installments are all posts I have a lot of fun rereading. More than everything, I was astounded and overjoyed by the positive response it got: that gave me tons of confidence to put my ideas out there, no matter how unique they sound!!! Here's to hoping I will be able to post my RayEmma Hadestown AU, by other big AU from late summer 2019 :')
#5: TPN timeline project
Date: Dec 2nd 2020 This is like. I don't know it's a lot ahah. Arguably the project I'm the most proud of ever making. I'm just so happy of all the months long hard work and of the final result!! The post didn't receive much response (though the ones I got were extremely kind and sweethearted so that totally makes up for it), but in the end I don't really mind? I'm just so proud I accomplished that idea :')
#6: TPN calendar
Date: Jan 4th 2021 A nice sum of the tpn timeline + everyone's birth dates!!! I really like how it turned out visually. It's a cute little tpn calendar!!!
#7: Ray smiles compilation
Date: Jan 17th 2021 Ray's smile. That's it that's the post :')
#8: Trans Oliver headcanons
Date: Jan 24th 2021 MMMH really like this headcanon I think about it a lot
#9: Thoma and Lani theory
Date: Jan 28th 2021 I really don't want to brag but this is the best joke I've ever made :')
#10: My TPN AUs
Date: May 10th 2021 Ok you gotta admit those are very good AUs, I'm glad to have made a list out of them!!!
#11: Ranking Emma promotional art outfits
Date: May 16th 2021 This is one people seem to have liked a lot which makes me happy ahah. I'm glad to know we can all agree Emma deserves more pants outfits!! Please stop it with the gendered clothing :') This is the post I want to be remembered for
#12: TPN musicals AU part 2
Date: May 20th 2021 A GREAT POST I can't stretch enough how happy I am with those character-song associations. I hope I have time to make a part 3 in the future!!
#13: TPN Drive folder
Date: May 30th 2021 This was born as a way for me to have all the tpn extra contents easily accessible, but I'm happy to have shared it with people- I hope it will turn out to be useful to others too!
#14: TPN s2 recolorings
Date: Jun 12th 2021 A more diverse children cast is good for the soul :')
That's it, this year was really fun!! Thank you to everyone who supported me through it, I can't express how grateful I am for all the kindness and validation I received. Here's to many more months in the fandom!!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧

Idol General Reading
Note: I’ve made sure to cover as much Aspects as I could to give a very general reading. Remember that I DO take this very seriously, however take it with a grain of salt. Readings can’t touch right on spot when the energy of the person that is being read isn’t present.
Anyway hope this will help you learning more about your idol, and please remember to take things lightly. I’ve used 4 decks for this reading : The Dark Fairy Tarot, The Animal Oracle, The Astrology Of The Dark Moon Oracle and The Paths Of Awakening Oracle
-> Date: 22 Mars 2020
Joshua From Seventeen
Tumblr media
Current Mood/Energy:
I’m happy that I’m finally having one of the boys that is feeling genuinely happy and joyful. Joshua is feeling exactly that. All his relationships are working well, people around him are thoughtful and he is overall surrounded by a lot of positivity. There’s good news coming his way, his faith his pretty strong (not surprised) and there’s a lot of new projects that he is currently excited and working on. Also all my spread Indicated a birth in some sort. Either someone of his family is coming out with a pregnancy or either it’s simply a symbol to demonstrate that all his projects and ideas are coming to a birth.
Current Love Life:
Joshua is single at the moment. However he had a partner later on, however this person had caused him more harm than anything else however he is fully recovered from it. I see that he had lost faith about finding someone else by the time he had been hurt however all of that is now past. He is patient, and he knows the right person will come at the right time. He isn’t actively searching either. He wants things to take its time and come to him naturally. He believes that everyone one has their someone
Current Career:
Again for his career, as I’ve said there’s a lot of projects going on and a lot that he is happy to be working on. Joshua is really happy about his job and about what he is doing. He relies a lot of his band mates and there’s a lot of emotional connection and support form them. Also whatever project he is working on will be a success and everything will work his way so I’m excited for him to show us what he has been up to. The only thing that troubles him is that this projet is making him having double choices and he finds hard to chose only one side and not both. Anyway he is definitely very focused on this new path and is helping him devolving his artistic skills
(Ps: it’s interesting because a very popular kpop prediction account have already predicted a solo music/solo activity (like acting) from one of the seventeen members so I wonder if it’s not Joshua based on this reading )
Current Health:
Because of his new working movement, Joshua is being quite absovered and as every other idol I’ve made reading for, he isn’t taking care of himself too properly. There’s of course excitement and stress. For now it’s not being too harmful but he should check it so it won’t become a trouble in the future. So yes basically he is healthy he just needs to check out his emotional side so he won’t get too burdened
The Spiritual Message:
His spiritual guides are very soft and gentle with Joshua. He really has a lot of luck concerning this field. His faith keeps him up and there’s definitely a someone from the spiritual world that looks up for him and that protects him. As for the message they just want him to know that they are here for him and that he is loved and taken care of. They also want Joshua to open up and to share all his talents and love with the world. This boy really is bright and he shares nothing with good energies with people

Adeline and Michael Are Engaged: Full Data
Tumblr media
Various Morton family members have been reporting that Adeline Morton and Michael Holloway have gotten engaged, and Addie even reported it publicly on her Facebook account. This comes as a surprise to Morton Data because they hadn’t been pictured together since August 2019, and I was under the impression they had broken up. It looks like they decided to step back from social media and didn’t actually break up.
Addie said on Facebook that they got engaged on July 4, 2020. She, 28, was born on July 15, 1991, and Michael, 22, was born on July 20, 1997.
All of the information in this post is back in the Morton Predictor, and this post will cover everything related to their engagement and predictions based on it.
How does their data compare to the rest of the family? After the jump!
Tumblr media
The Relationship
Adeline and Michael never stated the exact nature of their relationship, but they were first confirmed to be a couple on May 1, 2019, on a visit to her siblings in Paraguay. Given a July 4, 2020 engagement, that means they courted/dated for 430 Days before the proposal. This is a hugely long relationship for her family; in fact, it’s over 10 Standard Deviations longer than the Average Morton Courtship of 46 Days. The Average Morton Courtship now lasts 101 Days (55 Days Longer, more than twice as long as it was before).

The average Morton engagement lasts for 143 Days before marriage and varies by a Standard Deviation of 82 Days. As a result, based on the data, there’s a 68% chance that a Morton engagement will result in a wedding 61-205 Days later. Given their engagement date, the predicted wedding dates are as follows:
Earliest (+ 61 Days): September 5, 2020
Average (+ 143 Days): November 21, 2020 (Predictor uses this one)
Latest (+ 205 Days): January 23, 2021
Note that the wedding dates are adjusted to Saturdays, when all of the Morton weddings have been scheduled.
Tumblr media
Pregnancy Announcement and Firstborn
The typical Morton firstborn arrives a blistering 302 Days after their parents say their vows, with a standard deviation of 46 Days. That gives us a 68% chance that any given Morton firstborn will arrive between 256-348 Days after the wedding. The three wedding dates above correspond to the following three firstborn birth dates:
Earliest (+ 256 Days): May 19, 2021
Average (+ 302 Days): September 18, 2021
Latest (+ 348 Days): January 6, 2022
Future Quiver
The typical Morton couple reproduces at a rate of 1 Child Every 538 Days, with a Standard Deviation of 189 Days. That’s a 68% chance for each child to come 349-727 Days after the next. Matching each relationship speed with its corresponding procreation speed, we have:
Fastest (1 Every 349 Days): 14 Children
Average (1 Every 538 Days): 9 Children
Slowest (1 Every 727 Days): 7 Children
Fundies never cease to surprise.

17 Ways To Predict The Future That You Can Do For FREE (#8 Will Have You Shook - And I Should Know, I Totally Saw It Via Augury)
It was 8.57pm on a Wednesday night. I was sitting on my bed, waiting for the microwave to let me know my lasagne is ready, and that’s when I first heard it.
Silence.
Day 2 of UK lockdown was nearly over, but the tidal wave of boredom - and the consequential existential crises - was set to hit the nation at any moment if it hadn’t already.
Amazon orders of ‘watercolour kits for beginners’ had surged, YouTube workouts I’m pretty sure were filmed in some murderer’s basement were clogging up YouTube's trending page, and returning to the dark side of Duolingo was filling the days of my fellow countrymen.
Whether it’s not being able to work, losing your job, or being sick with the virus yourself, people across the globe are on the hunt for new skills, hobbies, and how-to’s on filling the 24 hours.
Tumblr media
The thing is, your next hobby (the one you will inevitably ditch once you realise you have the artistic ability of a dented tin of tuna) will probably require items you can’t scavenge in the home you’re currently self-isolating in.
And God forbid the skill you decide to take up includes making self-expressive sculptures about your childhood with toilet paper.
Why not take up a skill that doesn’t require paint pots you will inevitably spill on the carpet and lie to your landlord about? Why not occupy your time with the occult, instead?
Of course - you should become a fortune-teller!
With 44 methods of predicting the future available and most of them requiring, well, nothing - or, at the very least, a handful of beans and maybe the odd animal sacrifice - trying and testing methods of seeing need not use up your time, nor the scraps left in your cupboards.
Tumblr media
And once you’ve fulfilled your destiny as a prophet, why not let us know when this pandemic will be over?
But before you’ve even learnt to read palms, and before you’ve even considered how Mercury’s retrograde will affect the heaviness of your next period, you should probably find out what the methods are, and which ones you can do with half a tin of bins and the protein powder from last year when Love Island shamed you into thinking you weren’t good enough.
(Bro, you totally are.)
That’s why I’ve decided to guide you in the next step your spiritual journey. Or at least keep you busy for the next 79 minutes. And given the current state of the world, the latter is far more precious.
But before I launch into the 17 different ways you can trace out your future in self-isolation, I thought we should actually know what fortune tellers are.
A Brief And Totally Ironic History Of Predicting The Future
*pushes glasses up nose*
Tumblr media
Fortune telling is defined as the principle of predicting the future events of someone’s life. There are many different types of the practice and the people that predict the future, from those that practice divination (which involves rituals to see into the future), to fortune telling (which takes place in a less formal setting and is far more symbol based).
The latter found its feet in the Renaissance era, and was firmly planted in Romani culture, explaining why gypsy fortune tellers are the most prevalent image representing the art. In fact, it was ol’ Nostradamus that made his name in this period.
Michel de Nostrodame was a typical 16th century Frenchman.
Only he spent his time working in apothecaries, predicting the future, and writing down what he claimed would happen. In total, he made 6338 prophecies and 11 annual calendars, and it’s one of these prophecies which has become rather relevant to 2020.
That is, it predicts the end of the world. And it’s kind of coming true.
Tumblr media
Nevertheless, the once forbidden art of predicting the future has been founded in our cultures since ancient times.
Astrology was the OG, setting the trend that would spark the uncountable practices currently in practice. Those that could predict the future - whether from their own abilities as prophets, or using systems as clairvoyants - had a strong political stance as prominent advisors.
Obviously, the role has lost respect over the years.
However, the practice faced their greatest amount of opposition during the Enlightenment era as reason began to prevail, ditching superstition. Once it had become, like, so uncool, it became cool again in the 19th century alongside the rise of Spiritualism - AKA dead people can talk to us, k - which tied the capabilities of mediums with those that could see the future.
This was the root of popular culture’s current approach to today’s soothsayers, a relationship sealed with the New Age culture of the 1960s.
Getting your palm read, or having a flick through some tarot cards became a tradable commodity during this decade. And an odd 30 years later, the term ‘psychic’ officially hit the scene.
Tumblr media
Psychics were people that utilised ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) to identify extra sensory information we normal mortals can’t quite detect. Often, this involves telepathy or clairvoyance to assist in their predictive skills.
So - are you ready to join the ranks?
*Throws sticks onto floor to find answer*
Here Are The 17 Ways You Can Predict The Future Even If You’re In Lockdow
Aeromancy
Divination that uses the weather to predict the future
Go outside. Look up. Look for symbols in the sky.
Boom - you’ve just practiced one of the oldest forms of divination to man.
In less stuttered terms, aeromancy is the practice of seeing symbols in the weather that point you to what’s happening in your life right now, and what will happen in the future. Most of these practices rely on this symbolism, and thus have a few explanations for certain types of weather-based events.
Not only is this one of the simplest - and least costly - ways to predict when the lockdown will end, it also makes you a bad bitch. And that’s because it was one of the forbidden arts in the Renaissance period.
Once you’ve discovered your inner rebel when getting your daily quota of vitamin D, you might wish to specialise in one of the sub-types of this art: you can investigate storms, peruse wind patterns, stare at the stars or keep it simple with clouds.
Astrology
Divination by the movements of celestial bodies.
Okay - this one’s gonna take some reading.
Finding out your horoscope these days is as easy as mispelling ‘Gemini’ in google and hoping you don’t end up on a website dodgier than that kebab you consumed 3 days ago.
(Just hasn’t quite settled in my stomach, yet.)
Tumblr media
Astrology is a pseudoscience - that is, it mixes sciences and the supernatural - which studies how the position of the celestial bodies impact events here on Earth. It might be mocked within an inch of its life, but it's figured prominently throughout history.
Going back to 2BC, this has designed the basis of our calendars and our seasons. Historically, cultures have assigned vital importance to astronomical events of note. And now you can too!
Astrology these days focuses merely on horoscopes as astrologers believed those born around the same time of the year when the planets were aligned in a similar way had a lot in common and thus had certain personalities. From there, individual predictions created in the forms of charts were brought to the table.
Finding your chart might be a simple feat thanks to the internet, but interpreting it? Whole ‘nother ball game.
And that’s what you’re going to do for the next 3 hours!
Numerology
Divination via numbers
As with all methods of divination, numerology has a variety of sub-types held to its name - but the basic definition is the practice of assigning spiritual value to numbers. This typically focuses on numerical patterns.
One of the more basic methods of seeing the future, numerology is actually more anchored in our culture than you’d expect. Pythagoras - yeah, that guy that forced you to spend two sevenths of your teenage years obsessed with triangles - even followed its basic principle, claiming numbers were a universal language offered by god(s) as a “confirmation of truth”.
Triangles, man.
Tumblr media
This started with the Ancient Egyptians, who believed life was made up of cycles of numbers, and that harnessing those cycles was how you could discover your key to success. Their fundamental claim was that each individual number has a personality, for example, the number 7 is the thinker or the searcher of truth.
By deducing key facts of your life with numerology, such as your date of birth, and what you should do on the different days of the months, navigating your future via numbers is your next hobby.
Augury
Divination via the pattern of bird flight
As I write this post, I am following the UK government’s guidance to only go outside once a day. You’d think that this would restrict access to this form of fortune-telling, but if you can get to a window, you’re ready to forecast major world events.
Birds have always featured prominently in cultures, with many belief systems claiming the animals are messengers from the gods and can even transcend the borders of heaven. This means if you want to try your hand at augury, you will have to consult ancient texts which outline the patterns you need to be looking for.
And there’s a lot of patterns to look for.
You could be investigating how fast they fly, you could be interpreting the movement of their flight, and you could even be considering the way birds eat if you chuck a handful of grain on the floor.
Evidently, this form of divination is best practiced at Brighton when you’ve got a bag of chips in one hand, and an unknown meat-like substance in the other.
Automatic Writing
Divination via writing
This one might be the easiest to do - but it's the most difficult to do right.
Pen? Check. Paper? Check. Access to the inner thoughts of spirits surrounding you? You’ll need all three to correctly practice this form of clairvoyance.
Many believe that otherworldly beings essentially write through you in this process. So, clear your mind, take a deep breath, and let your hand be guided.
Bibliomancy
Divination using books
Another simple form of fortune telling, this requires you opening a book to a random page, reading the paragraph you feel drawn to, and interpreting the message the gods are clearing letting you in on.
Bibles are the most popular book used for this practice, but any ol’ book will do.
Ceromancy and Capnomancy
Divination using candles
If, like me, you have a minor addiction to candles, this is the perfect pastime to enjoy the pleasant experience of burning a candle and predicting your future.
Tumblr media
The former requires you asking the, uh, candle a question, pouring melted wax from a candle into the water and interpreting the shapes of the cooled wax to find your answer.
The latter involves the interpretation of the smoke of the candle. As this is measured in the same way as interpreting the clouds, you can follow the same principles of aeromancy here, too.
Palmistry
Divination via hands
One of the most famous forms of telling the future, palmistry follows several simple principles and practices. You can read hand shape, you can investigate line reading… And the options don’t stop there.
From more general observations of your own, to more specific divination, all it requires is a hand, and a guide to reading that hand.
Scrying
Divination using mirrors or crystal balls
It’s the official mascot of telling the future - but you don’t need a crystal ball to master this art. In fact, using a mirror to open a portal to another realm and contacting the spirits is far more common.
It’s also far more dangerous due to the potential for negative spirits to cross the barrier into our realm. In fact, that’s how Bloody Mary really made her name.
You can read more about her story here.
Favomancy
Divination using beans or peas
Are you a selfish prat? Were you one of those people that panic bought everything in my local Waitrose, and left shit all for that old guy who just staggered past me?
A - fuck you. And B - this is your new hobby!
All you really need to tell the future is a can of beans, and an open mind. With its origins in the Middle East, by dropping a handful of beans or peas and interpreting how they fell, you can see how the next few weeks might just pan out.
It might follow a complex set of rules, and it might follow very precise principles, but nevertheless, it can help point out the favourable and unfavourable signs for your future.
Haruspicy
Divination via liver dissection
This is by far one of the simplest methods of fortune telling - trust me.
First, you sacrifice an animal to a deity of your choice. Second, you reach into its corpse, and rip out its liver with your bare hands.
Then, you sever the liver into several parts based on deities of your choice. From there, you’d investigate it for signs from the gods based on size, shape, colour, and texture.
Signs interpreted, messages understood, future predicted.
*drops mic into small intestine*
Iching
Divination via yarrow stalks and Chinese coins
This might be the most complicated method of divination on this list, and this might cost the most as you try to get yarrow sticks by next day delivery, but thanks to websites offering to carry out the process for you virtually, finding your future might actually be the most effortless.
Harness the power of ancient Chinese divination via the I Ching (AKA The Book Of Changes) and the principle of cleromancy, the production of random numbers to determine messages from the divine.
This ancient Chinese manual is based on 8 symbolic trigrams and 64 hexagrams which are interpreted in terms of yin and yang...
Okay. I’ll be honest.
I don’t really know what’s going on.
There’s some vegetables, there’s some loose change involved, there’s more yin and yang references than the first day of Coachella… All I know is you find a website that does all that for you, and you ask it a question.
Tumblr media
Moleosophy
Divination using the moles on your body
Live in an urban area? More chance of seeing a fox hump a Chicken Cottage box than the Big Dipper?
Then why not try your hand at reading the moles on your skin?
This system of divination assigns significance to your moles, allowing you to interpret the marks on your body as warning you of your future. And warning is the right word.
Got a mole on your throat? You’ve more chance of being beheaded than Damien’s family members in The Omen. Freckle on your nether-regions? You’re a god-forsaken whore.
There’s many more meanings left to be unlocked - and hopefully not all of them are negative attributes about yourself or your death.
Oneiromancy
Divination of dreams
Ever wondered what that dream you had, you know, the one with Gabriella from High School Musical saying all the old people should just die from Covid-19, cause, like, it’s inevitable, actually meant?
Well now you can!
With more online guides and overpriced books offering to analyse and interpret your dreams for you, accessing your subconscious and predicting future events has never been easier. But you will need to remember what actually happened in your dreams.
Fuck.
Cartomancy
Divination using cards
Couldn’t get Prime delivery on your tarot cards? Have a knack for solitaire?
Pull out your pack of playing cards, and use ‘em to guide your future. There are many rules you need to follow, but it’s a good way to practice your divination skills before you move onto other oracle based cards.
It even follows the similar principle of tarot, with each card having a different meaning, e.g. the 8 and Hearts represents an unexpected gift or a visit.
And if you give up, just play a game of Clock Patience!
Scapulimancy
Divination via bones
Still got the carcass of that animal you slaughtered in the name of your chosen god/goddess?
Good.
Reach into the body, and pull out the shoulder blade bones - aka the scapulae. Examine for messages and markings from your chosen god/goddess, and jot down the future events you predict on your calendar.
Then, check out your council website to see which day they take out the sacrificial goat bin.
Tasseomancy
Divination using tea leaves
It’s the pop culture representative for the occult, making its name in the Harry Potter films and leaving us all with the vile experience of coughing up tea leaves into your morning.
It might be one of the most accessible forms of fortune telling - especially as it is primarily based on symbolism and your own interpretation of the messages your favoured god has left in the dregs of your hot drink - but tea leaves must be used for this practice.
Tea from tea bags won’t have the same effect.
Which One Are You Trying Out Tonight?
Leave me a comment and let me know. Or will I know already?

Erin is Pregnant!  (Wow!)
Get The Details, Data, and Predictions Here.
Tumblr media
Normally, “shocking” is the last word I’d use to describe a Bates Pregnancy...  But, this one actually is!  After ruptured ovarian cysts forced her to have “one ovary ... and most of [the] second” removed, Erin (Bates) Paine is expecting—something she recently said would be “a huge miracle.”  Against all odds, the Paines’ 5th Child is due in January 2022.  Sharing the news via People, Chad said—
“Everyday life is a miracle, but this is such a special miracle for our little family.  For the past year, Erin has experienced different health problems, which ended up leading to multiple surgeries.  After consulting with our doctor, we realized having another baby was not going to be in our future.  It was sad, just because we both really love kids, but I knew Erin's health was the biggest priority, and we were overwhelmingly grateful for the four little blessings God has already given us.  We were content knowing that God sometimes has a different plan than our own.  As you can imagine, we were absolutely blown away when we found out the good news and really in shock!"
Read on for a full analysis—
Do we know Paine #5′s Due Date, or can we estimate it?
What is Paine #5′s Projected DOB?
Should we expect a Name / Sex Reveal and, if so, when?
How is Duggar Data planning to handle this data, given Erin’s recent health issues and surgeries?
How does this impact the Paines’ PP and ESOQ?
Will the Predictor resume pregnancy predictions for Erin + Chad?
Tumblr media
Approximate Due Date, Projected DOB
As of 12:30 PM PST on August 24, 2021, the Paines haven’t said much about the Due Date...  All we know is that Erin is due in January 2022.  With nothing else to go on, Duggar Data will use the midpoint of January—i.e., January 16, 2022—as Erin’s Approximate Due Date (ADD), for now.
That said, Erin consistently delivers early—like, early early.  She gives birth 27 Days Early, on average, and she has never gone past Day 256 (24 Days Early).  Based on her ADD of January 16, 2022 the Predictor actually expects she will deliver in 2021.  Paine #5′s Projected DOB is December 20, 2021.
When to Expect The Sex + Name Reveal
Erin has revealed each of her 4 Children’s Sex + Name, before birth.  (And she has always done a joint reveal—i.e., Sex + Name, at the same time.)  Typically, the Paines do the joint Sex + Name Reveal when Erin is 126 Days Along.  But, with an ADD of January 16, 2022, Erin is already further along than that!  So...  They’ll probably do it soon.  Hard to say when, though!
How Will Duggar Data Deal w/ This Data?
Erin’s ovarian surgeries obviously slowed her down, here...  There’s simply no way they didn’t.  As such, it makes sense to factor in that ‘delay’ by adjusting the Child Spacing associated with this pregnancy.  Duggar Data already dealt with this issue with Alyssa...  Alyssa + John had a larger–than–normal spacing between Zoey and Maci due to Alyssa’s heart arrhythmia, which also required surgeries.  For them, Duggar Data dealt with it by simply ignoring the period of time between Zoey’s Birth and Alyssa’s 2nd (and Final) Surgery...  Maci’s Child Spacing is counted from the Surgery Date, not Zoey’s DOB.
I’ll do the same thing here, counting Paine #5′s Child Spacing from the day of Erin’s Last Surgery.  But...  At this point, we don’t know exactly when Erin had surgery...  So, that’s a slight issue!  Hopefully Bringing Up Bates might provide more information, here.  If not, we do know that she’d had 3 Surgeries prior to February 7, 2021.  (See Also.)  Also, it appears that she had her 1st Surgery at some point after she had COVID for the first time, and that was in August.  So, basically...  3 Surgeries between August 2020 and February 7, 2021.  Let’s just assume her 3rd (and Final) Surgery was in January 2021, shortly before Erin + Chad went public with her ordeal.  (This is entirely speculative, I’ll admit.)  For now, we’ll go with that, and count Paine #5′s Child Spacing from January 16, 2021—i.e., the midpoint of January—instead of from Holland’s DOB.
Effect on Procreative Pace, ESOQ
Counting from January 16, 2021 to December 20, 2021, it looks like Paine #5 will have a Child Spacing of 300ish Days.  That’s an outlier...  So, Duggar Data will hold off on analyzing this until we get a more solid date for Erin’s Surgery.  (And, if we never get one, I’ll have to treat Paine #5′s Spacing like an outlier.)
This is a developing datapoint.  I’ll let you guys know if I change my mind on how I’m going to deal with it, etc.
Based on non–Paine #5 Data, Erin + Chad’s PP is 552 Days.  Assuming that Paine #5 is born on December 20, 2021, and that Erin had Kelly Jo’s fertility, their 552–Day PP leaves them enough time to have 9 More Children...  Their ESOQ is, thus, 14 Children.  Prior to this, their ESOQ was 15 Children—and thus, Erin’s health ordeal ‘cost’ them 1 Child.
Will Predictions Resume?
Tumblr media
When Erin stated it would be “a huge miracle” for her to conceive ever again, Duggar Data halted pregnancy predictions for the Paines.  Now, it’s clear she actually can conceive...  As such, I’m planning to resume normal predictions.  This is subject to change if it starts to look like Paine #5 was just a one–time, crazy miracle that’s unlikely to recur.
We’ll play it by ear!

I have a certain fondness for cyclical history, or at least the notion that there are some structural patterns that seem to recur in predictable waves throughout history – including ones that could explain our current period of upheaval.
Several observers of history have theorized broad 60-100 year secular “cycles” of historical disorder and reorder, such as William Strauss and Neil Howe’s generational theory and Peter Turchin’s “cliodynamic” forecast of an “age of discord” – both of which predicted a period of extended crisis around 2020 and now seem to pretty much be playing out exactly as prophesized.
This stuff is worth exploring more, and I aim to do so in the future. But first, I think it might be worth it for us to start by actually thinking bigger – much bigger. As in: what if we aren’t witnessing a period of change “unseen in a century,” but unseen in five centuries? And, what if we are engulfed not in a secular cycle, but in one more fundamentally religious in nature? That’s an important question to analyze, even if you aren’t religious.
In the last decade we’ve seen the emergence in the West of a strident new ideology of “Social Justice” which, despite its self-conceived secularism, many observers have now convincingly argued bears all the hallmarks of a new religious cult, complete with a new metaphysics of truth and reality, a concept of original sin, a new hierarchy of moral virtues, a self-constructed canonical liturgy and a strict orthodoxy, a de-facto priesthood, sacred spaces, self-abasing rituals, a community of believers, linguistic shibboleths, blasphemy laws, and excommunication – among other giveaways.
But, quite notably, this “New Faith” seems to have, consciously or unconsciously, modeled most of its belief system and ritual practices straight out of the Christian tradition, from an overarching preoccupation with the weak and the victimized, along with an emphasis on atonement (though any conception of grace, forgiveness, or redemption is notably absent), right down to specific forms of ritual, like the washing of feet or the symbolic reenactment of martyrdom.
This raises an interesting question: is what we are witnessing now less an entirely new faith than what in the past would have instead been immediately recognized and categorized as part of the long list of Christian heresies, large and small, which challenged the established church throughout history? Could we be living through, as I posited briefly in my introductory essay to The Upheaval, a religious revolution similar to the Reformation that wracked Europe beginning around 500 years ago?
A 500 Year Cycle
Enter the late Phyllis Tickle, an American academic and journalist following religious trends, and her 2008 book The Great Emergence, which essentially argued precisely that. Tickle’s book is frankly what I would have described as a work of pure kookery as recently as five years ago, but, well, times have changed.
The Great Emergence posits that Christianity has throughout its history been shaped by a recurring 500 year-long cycle of structural and spiritual dissolution, turmoil, and re-formation. Each time, the Church has seemingly been seized by a collective desire to cast off established institutional structures and beliefs. She identifies four past rotations of this cycle, coincidentally describing a “mighty upheaval” that has inevitably consumed the Christian world at every climax of this cycle before order was eventually restored.
Tickle describes an established religion as a sort of cable – not just a metaphorical “cable of meaning that keeps the human social unit connected to some purpose and/or power greater than itself,” but with the analogy of an actual cable.
Inside a steel cable are three interwoven strands, in this case representing spirituality (interior religious experience and belief), corporeality (the physical embodiment/evidence of a religious practice’s existence and practice, such as books, liturgy, or a priest’s robes), and morality (essentially applied spirituality, filtered through corporeality). On the outside of the cable is a waterproof casing that protects the interior. In our analogy, this is the religion’s story (the mythic and actual shared history that unites members). Finally, in between the casing and the strands is a pliable mesh sleeve that makes the cable more flexible and less brittle, and helps to absorb shocks. This is the common imagination or illusion of the religion’s believers about “how the world works” and is “to be imaged and thereby understood.” It serves as a general operating system for the group.
So constructed, said religious cable can rest underwater on the seabed of history for quite a long time unperturbed in its function. However, eventually the outer casing (the story) will become corroded, and the interior mesh (collective imagination) disrupted by events. At first this is fine, and the cable continues to hold, or is even repaired. That is until “that fateful time, about once every five hundred years, when the outer casing of the story and inner sleeve of the shared illusion take a blow simultaneously. When that happens, a hole is opened straight through to the braid. The water rushes in; and human nature being what human nature is, we reach our collective hand in through the hole and pull out the three strands one at a time. Spirituality first, corporeality second, and morality last. We pull each up, consider it from every possible angle, and at times finger it beyond all imagining.” (If you’re now thinking of the rapid growth of people in the 21st century that began claiming they’re “spiritual but not religious,” you are connecting the dots here).
Which brings us to a final interesting pattern that Tickle identifies in every cycle: the emergence of at least one “new form” of Christianity, but also simultaneously a process of “re-traditioning” by the original faith that has “occurred with each turn of the eras and is a substantial dynamic in the progression from upheaval to renewed stability.” In the case of the Reformation, the Church was “freed” to tackle errors and corruptions, and to make significant institutional reforms (in the Fifth Lateran Council, the Councils of Trent, etc.) during a period of counter-reformation that would eventually produce a less decadent and more unified, clarified, and vibrant Catholic Church.
What happened in sum, in Tickle’s telling, is that “sola scriptura, scriptura sola,” which “had answered the authority question in the sixteenth century and, more or less, had sustained the centuries between the Great Reformation” and the modern day, was mortally wounded. In largely Protestant America, this had big consequences (and meanwhile the Catholic Church was facing similar pressures). Any agreement on the three strands of the cable – what it means to be “spiritual”; what the corporeality of the church should looks like, or if it should even exist; and eventually what it means to be a moral person – was now gone.
The result, she says, has been the emergence of a new faith structure.
The very first manifestation of this, Tickle argues, dates back to the birth and explosive growth in America of Pentecostalism, a form of “charismatic” Protestantism that emphasizes a radically egalitarian, direct and personal relationship with God sufficient to produce the famed “speaking in tongues” common in Pentecostal worship. Pentecostalism “by definition assumes direct contact of the believer with God and, by extension, the direct agency of the Holy Spirit as instructor and counselor and commander as well as comforter.” As such, “Pentecostalism assumes that ultimate authority is experiential rather than canonical… Pentecostalism, in other words offered the Great Emergence its first, solid, applied answer to the question of where now is our authority.”
Today, however, even Pentecostalism is beginning to break down – along with evangelicalism and pretty much every other denomination – and see its followers assimilated into something new: the “Emergent Church.” But what exactly is that?
And the “Emergents,” it turns out, “are postmodern.” Despite all that rationalist science from earlier, the takeaway from the collapse of authority has been “that logic is not worth nearly so much as the last five hundred years would have had us believe. It is, therefore, not to be trusted as an absolute, nor are its conclusions to be taken as truth just because they depend from logical thinking.”
But who ultimately determines the narrative in this ultra-democratic faith? Tickle taps into network theory to answer: crowd sourcing. The group will manifest its own values and own authority. This “differs [from the past] in that it employs total egalitarianism, a respect for worth of the hoi polloi that even pure democracy never had, and a complete indifference to capitalism as a virtue or to individualism as a godly circumstance.”
Is any of this beginning to sound somewhat worrying to you? Well don’t worry, says Tickle – and it is worth pausing here to note that Tickle is an enthusiastic self-described Emergent who thinks this is all great news – the coalescing Emergent Church will settle on new answers to authority, spirituality, morality, and practice, and find its footing as the new dominant Christianity.  Meanwhile the reactionaries left in the corners will undergo a process of re-traditioning and come out the better for it in the end. And they can take heart that “every time the incrustations of an overly established Christianity have been broken open, the faith has spread – and been spread – dramatically into new geographic and demographic areas, thereby increasing exponentially the range and depth of Christianity’s reach as a result of its time of unease and distress.”
And with the new egalitarian faith tradition so deeply in touch with our common humanity, all the bloodshed and general unpleasantness experienced during every past historical case of “emergence” will presumably be avoided (Tickle seems to forget about that part in her excitement). Then everyone will live happily ever after – or at least for another 500 years.
That was Tickle’s conclusion anyway. But she published The Great Emergence in 2008 and died in 2015, so she didn’t live to see what’s actually happened.
The Actual Great Emergence
Tickle wrote her book too soon. Liberal, vibrating, Eastern-inspired hippies no longer, her “Emergent Church” seems to have taken a turn in the last decade that she didn’t see coming, transforming into a rather different beast.
Here’s what I think may have happened. Tickle got a lot of things very right: the cable of institutional Christianity was corroded by science and cultural entropy; sola scriptura, scriptura sola did break down, and the faith did enter a crisis centered on the question “where now is authority?” A new Christianity did began to emerge, just as she described.
In fact the trends toward the collapse of establishment Christianity were perhaps even more powerful than she may have predicted. A recent Gallup poll found that less than 50% of American’s are now official members of a church or other religious organization, down from over 60% in 2008.
But – and this is my theory – in the end Tickle’s version of Emergent Christianity proved a weak social construct. It existed to gratify its adherents with the belief that they were still morally good members of a religious tradition, whose primary goal was to provide for their happiness, while liberating them from any higher authority beyond themselves and freeing them from any of the responsibilities or strictures that had once characterized that religion.
In other words, Emergent Christianity was mostly Moralistic Therapeutic Deism all along.
Ultimately, this fragile early-stage Emergent Church didn’t resolve the crisis because it didn’t have any real authority, meaningful substance, or unifying purpose.
Meanwhile, many of the seeds planted within Emergent Christianity that Tickle mentioned were still finishing germinating, namely: post-modernism, narrative-driven reality, direct personal relationship with and self-interpretation of divinity, opposition to hierarchy, and crowd-sourced authority.
But, most important of all was I think something Tickle doesn’t really touch on too much: the modernity-driven suspicion, deep within the hearts even of many Christians, that in fact, as Nietzsche infamously put it, “God is dead.” Increasingly skeptical about the existence of any kingdom of God in heaven, they were primed for a logical alternative: building the kingdom of heaven on earth instead.
The stage was thus set for The Great Merger.
At some point the Emergent Church came face-to-face with secular, identity-based “Social Justice” activism – likely in the 2010s, when core theoretical ideas behind that movement, based on post-modern Critical Theory and neo-Marxist frameworks of identitarian struggle, first really began to seep out of the academy and crystalize into effective activist movements, such as Black Lives Matter or the trans rights movement, in a big way.
Both sides liked what they saw, but for the Emergent Church in particular this was a match made in narrative heaven. Secular Social Justice activism dovetailed perfectly with both the strong historical emphasis on social justice work within many Christian denominations (including the Social Gospel movement) and the post-modern seeds already present in Emergent Christianity (such as the primacy of self-interpreted identity). But more importantly it offered Emergents nearly everything they had been missing and longing for. Suddenly they had a new source of authority (the doctrines of Critical Theory and the hierarchy of intersectional identity), a clear metaphysics of good and evil (the oppressed and their oppressors), an ultimate objective (to perfect the world by the elimination of evil), and a grand narrative of how to live in the world.
George Orwell famously wrote in his 1940 review of Mein Kampf that: “Whereas Socialism, and even capitalism in a more grudging way, have said to people ‘I offer you a good time,’ Hitler has said to them ‘I offer you struggle, danger and death,’ and as a result a whole nation flings itself at his feet.” Well, the Emergent Church offered its restless followers comfort and a good time on earth; neo-Marxist Social Justice offered them revolutionary struggle, and so they prostrated themselves immediately.
That’s not the end of the story though, as I think Emergent Christianity may have had more influence on the secular activist movement than the latter tends to consider. In fact I think it might have been quite important to the rapid emergence and spread of the New Faith.
To start with, it provided the concept of sin. This helped grow and empower the activist movement tremendously. Why? One might not think of free-wheeling secular culture embracing the idea of sin so easily, even joyfully, but it was a simple matter. As an example, picture a hypothetical middle-class suburban white lady, enjoying a relatively comfortable material life but wracked by a vague but unshakable sense of guilt about her existence – for being white in a country with a history often unkind to non-whites; for her consumption habits contributing to environmental pollution and climate change; for being the citizen of a rich country while elsewhere in the world children starve, and so on. Liberalism has never addressed this feeling in a satisfactory way. Suddenly, along comes the New Faith, and tells her that it’s all true: she is indeed a sinner, and she’s not alone! In fact the whole country and her whole race is corrupted by the original sins of colonialism, slavery, and genocide. What a relief! Even better, it has a comprehensive plan of action for how to address this sin.
This helped reorient Social Justice from the purely systemic to the personal. Neo-Marxist roots mean that the modern Social Justice movement tends to think primarily in terms of systems, and aims to drive systemic change to address systemic problems, like “systemic racism.”  Broadly speaking, this is still the case, but the problem is that this is both a hard goal and a cold, impersonal one. It’s not very inspiring to tell people their individual agency is of little import to the machine and that the only way to affect progress is to change the whole machine. Activism seems like pretty desperate business in that case. The concept of sin, however, provides a short circuit to this problem: it implies that progress can be made through a sort of personal moral transformation (say by acknowledging one’s privilege and “unconscious bias” and moving from “racist” to “anti-racist”) which anyone can achieve if they “educate” themselves and “do the work.” Liberalism has studiously avoided telling our secular white lady how she should live in the world, so this kind of moral direction provides the relief of having a distinct path. Moreover, if everyone was to accept this path all the problems of the world would be immediately be solved, so convincing (or forcing) more people to accept the Good News and begin their personal transformation becomes an imperative mission.
Finally, it provides an even greater sense of community to the faithful, helping to overcome the atomizing isolation and loneliness of liquid modernity. This is a somewhat odd community though. Just as Tickle predicted, communications technology has made it simultaneously vast and hyper-democratic. You might question whether the strict orthodoxy and blasphemy codes of the New Faith, to which one must submit or be canceled, are democratic, but that is only because you have forgotten your Plato and Aristotle, either of whom could have warned you what tends to happen to pure democracies. As Aristotle put it in his Politics:
[T]here demagogues spring up. For the people becomes a monarch, and is many in one; and there many have the power in their hand, not as individuals, but collectively… At all events this sort of democracy, which is now a monarchy, and no longer under the control of law, seeks to exercise monarchical sway, and grows into a despot.
If you ever wonder why something you said that was fine 72 hours ago is now an unredeemably racist, sexist, excommunicable offense, it’s because the disembodied Swarm Pope, who leads the People’s Democratic Priesthood of All Believers, crowd-sourced it from the swirling Id of the mob on Twitter while you weren’t looking.
The problem is that, even if the 500 year cycle that Tickle describes is genuine, it isn’t clear in each case what is cause and what is effect. As Tickle acknowledges at one point in her book, “over and over again,” the “religious enthusiasms” of each period of cyclical emergence “are unfailingly symptomatic or expressive of concomitant political, economic, and social upheavals.” So was the Reformation the cause of Europe’s 16th century turmoil, or just one important manifestation of a broader secular dynamic driving general upheaval? If the “great emergence” was not the cause, then what was? Tickle doesn’t attempt an answer to that, so our inquiry is back near square one.
However, I do have a suspicion that the question Tickle identifies as at the core of recurring crises in established Christianity – “where now is authority?” – is key. It may be that the seeming collapse of any firm locus of authority in almost every aspect of life today – politics, geopolitics, elites in general, religion, morality in general, asset pricing, economics in general, media, information in general, etc. – is central to our whole broader upheaval in the world today.
