Okay, so single dad modern zukka AU part 4 let’s go

Izumi has been begging Zuko to go to FunCon because according to the ads it’s the “ultimate kids convention!” Zuko is hesitant because he’s not sure he can take her with all the extra things he’s been working on.

He comes up with a compromise by asking Ty Lee or Uncle to take Izumi, but the little girl said in a teary eyed state that she wanted to spend more time with her dad “papa, please? it’s papa and Izumi bonding time! please pleeeeeaaaaaaase papa? I’ll be good I promise!”

Zuko couldn’t exactly say no to that now could he? Especially when Uncle kept chiming in and adding to the puppy dog eyes.

Ty Lee tags along still because she says she wants to help him fend off any single mom or dad who wanted to flirt with him.She was the opposite of helpful as she kept pointing out people checking him out saying if their auras were a good match.

Zuko and Ty Lee get dragged by an excitable five-year-old all over the convention going from one booth to another. Izumi started to tire out so Zuko lifted her up so she can sit on his shoulders. She took that as an opportunity to pull his hair whenever something caught her eye.

When they announced that the main event was starting, they hurry to the center stage. Sokka steps on stage and Zuko’s scalp was once again subjected to tiny hands pulling at his hair.

Ty Lee looked at Sokka and it was then that Zuko had two girls gushing over the most irritating man on the planet. Ty Lee’s conversation with Zuko goes like this: Ty Lee, whispers to Zuko in a not so hushed voice : He’s really cute. Zuko, already grinding his teeth: If that’s what you like. Ty Lee: And he’s glaring at you. Zuko, glaring back at Sokka: Maybe he’s looking at the person behind me. Ty Lee: Nope. Pretty sure he’s glaring right at you. Your auras are really clashing right now, but it’s like...ohhhhhh. Zuko: Oh? What do you mean oh? Ty Lee: Don’t worry about it. [to Izumi] You like that Socko guy huh? Izumi: His name is Sokka and he’s the best! He makes stuff go boom! Did you know a lot of things can go boom? 

Zuko and Ty Lee then had to listen to Izumi talk the many different things that went boom.

Sokka finishes his show and people clap and Zuko tries really hard not to bum his kid out with his bad attitude. But he can’t help it because the guy was so irritating. Screw the fact that he can also be charming and is great with kids. 

After the convention wraps up, Izumi, Ty Lee, and Zuko get some food and who would be there but Sokka and his friends. The man was surrounded by some fans so Zuko tries to go around them. Ty Lee had a different idea and went straight to the guy as soon as she saw an opening. That would’ve been fine if she didn’t also drag Zuko and Izumi, who was sleeping in his arms, with her.

Sokka sees them approaching and he doesn’t know what to think. At first he’s mad but then he reminds himself that he can’t be mad because there are children around, then this pretty woman walks up to him with Zuko and Izumi in tow and starts flirting with him??? What the fuck is happening?

Zuko keeps glaring at him so Sokka thinks Ty Lee is Zuko’s wife or girlfriend, which shouldn’t disappoint him because he’s not disappointed at all. He’s just sorry that this nice woman has to deal with an asshole like Zuko.

Sokka doesn’t want anymore trouble so he tries to subtly deflect Ty Lee’s flirting and slips in the fact that hey isn’t that your boyfriend or something.

Ty Lee laughs and goes “oh, Zuko’s not my boyfriend. Actually, he’s single. He’s very available. Are you seeing someone?” She bats her eyes and smiles.

Sokka can’t believe that Ty Lee is being a wingwoman... and to Zuko of all people. Did she not know their history??? A quick look to the man and Sokka knows that he’s absolutely mortified so the best thing to do is play along and flirt with him. No one has ever said Sokka wasn’t a bit petty.

Zuko is confused at first by what’s happening then blushes hotly at Sokka’s advances. Ty Lee seems thrilled and thank goodness Izumi is tuckered out and napping or else... well he didn’t know what maybe yell a little that always did the trick.

It ends with Ty Lee giving Zuko’s number to Sokka who seemed just as shocked as he was. Ty Lee takes Izumi to the car and says she’ll wait over there while they talk.

The first thing out of Zuko’s mouth is “Lose my number.” Sokka answers swiftly with an “I didn’t want it anyway.” And then a much terser exchange of “Fine.” “Fine!”

Zuko storms off and Sokka is absolutely fuming mad that he let the guy get under his skin again!

Zuko gets to the car and his face is still red but he’s not sure if it’s because of anger or embarrassment from Sokka’s flirting earlier. Meanwhile, Sokka is staring at his contacts trying to decide if he should delete Zuko’s number.

They both decide to forget the incident ever happened and both wishing that it was the last time they see each other again. It is definitely not the last time they see each other again.
