After years of dating, you have finally decided to propose to that special lady. Time to settle down and live a long happy life with the woman you love, but first comes the notorious Las Vegas bachelor party to be enjoyed along with your best boys. Ah yes, the time-honored tradition of going out for that one last night of debauchery with the boys before committing to a life of loving only one woman. Now you just have to decide where to spend your time and hard-earned money. Sure, you could go to the local bar or Strip Club and drink at the same booth while staring at the same girls you've watched on countless weekends but why settle for the mundane when you could be celebrating in Las Vegas!? Bachelor party capital of the world! Home to numerous gentleman's clubs, nightlife venues, and exciting activities to keep you busy during the daylight hours. Most men make the mistake of coming to Vegas and only sampling what the city has to offer when the sun goes down. Little do they know Las Vegas provides a myriad of things to do during the day from shooting zombie targets with automatic weapons at the indoor gun range to flying through the desert on your own personal ATV. Most Parties tend to focus their energies on the Nightlife Las Vegas has to offer. Why Not? The town is saturated with nightclubs over 60 of them in all major hotels and more strip clubs than you can count. So what makes for the best Las Vegas Bachelor Party Ideas? Below is a brief list of top services and ideas you should look to hire in Las Vegas.
Tumblr media
TOP Las Vegas BACHELOR PARTY Ideas By Alicia Godsey Omaha
1. Nightclubs - best venues for bachelor parties include XS, Marquee, Tryst & 1oak.
2. Strip Clubs - Sapphires and Treasures round out the top 2 with spearmint rhino the preferred venue for small parties
3. Restaurants - Piero's and Del Frisco's best off-strip restaurants Italian and American steakhouse, respectively.
4. Adventures - Dune buggy and Gun Range always great for beating a hangover
5. Transportation - Stretch Vehicles including Big BLUE or Brinks Bank Truck!
6. Pool Party - Great during the Spring and Summer months best pool include Encore Beach Club, Wet Republic, and Rehab.
Las Vegas is also home to a long list of exciting and unique places to eat like the German/Beerfest themed Hofbrauhaus or Dick's Last Resort for the younger, more daring crowd. When planning for your Las Vegas bachelor party it's best to not just go out for one evening, but to make a whole weekend out of this! You only get married once (hopefully) so be sure that your bachelor party is one to be remembered for years to come. A weekend to look back on when you are older so you can think to yourself ""Man, that was one wild party.""
A bachelor package is the best way to enjoy a full weekend of activities at the best prices. The most popular Las Vegas bachelor packages include providing you with VIP Services at a Nightclub for 2 nights in addition to receiving unlimited Strip Club access with transportation plus dinner! Not a bad idea for a weekend. Here are a few popular Bachelor package ideas in Las Vegas:
The Clubber: Includes a party bus, all you can drink on the bus and VIP Hosted Entry into any 3 Las Vegas Nightclubs (e.g. Tryst, Tao, Pure, XS, Marquee, Surrender). Hint: Drink as much as possible on the bus to save money on purchasing drinks inside!
The Teaser: Free Transportation to as many Las Vegas Strip Clubs you can handle (Treasures, Sapphires & Olympic Gardens. Hint: Limos like to provide a free service to you as they sometimes make commissions on what you spend inside!
Dine & Dash: Stuff your gullet full of All You Can Drink and Eat food and Beer (Hofbrahous, Gordon Biersch) then get chauffeured around Las Vegas in a stretched Party Bus!
When booking a bachelor package in Las Vegas you certainly shouldn't come expecting to wake up and find a tiger sleeping in the bathroom of your hotel suite but I can assure you that throwing your bachelor party in Las Vegas will guarantee that you and your guests will have an experience unlike any other. Below are a few tips on how to coordinate a party for a large group. It's always best to speak with a Party Planner or VIP Service as they can give you great ideas to start out with and possibly work with you to help structure the weekend's events!
1. Email - Communication is important and email is the best way to asynchronously keep all the guys in the know.
2. Intro -Introduce yourself as the party planner, why you have been selected and how you will be informing everyone of updates for the coming months.
3. Budget - Attendees spending limits should be the first thing you ask for you cannot plan a Party without knowing how much each guy is willing to spend,
4. Date - Get feedback on which dates most guys are available to attend.
5. Hotel - A hotel is a key ingredient to a good time in Vegas. Spend a little more to be closer to the action. This will save you money on transportation costs and you may even get free comps to the nightlife inside the hotel.
6. Agenda - Do NOT attempt to plan the entire weekend. The ladies will be getting wild and may not show to every event. Keep a designated Day/Night as a Mandatory guys meeting and other times can be left to leisure.
7. Payment - Collect ALL payment upfront do not leave this to chance as you will eventually be left holding the bill. Have everybody Paypal you at least half of the contribution in advance so you can guarantee services or possibly hire a Las Vegas Bachelor party planner to assist with things.
8. Logistics - Make sure every guy has a clear understanding of meeting times, places and obligations. You do not want excuses for guys missing special events.
9. Have Fun!
Now that you are equipped to plan and execute a flawless bachelor party in Las Vegas, starting as early as possible is the key to success. Use this posting as a guide to assist you in coordinating the big event with the boys. If you should start to fall behind always look for some assistance with a local Las Vegas party planner or VIP service as they have special advisors and staff who are available at all hours to assist.

I am a director at a family-owned daycare. My parents have owned the daycare for 25 years. I plan to it over one day. You can put that I used to live in Las Vegas where I ran a company by the name of Alys babes promotions LLC and BAchelor party babes LLC witch later got changed to Prima Allure LLC. It was an event planning business for large groups of people staying in Vegas. We would accommodate there to stay and plan their events. Now that I’m back home living in Nebraska I work for my parents and help manage their businesses. Not just daycare I’m also an office manager and in charge of keeping paperwork up today
Advertising and marketing for the Midwest area and planing summer parties for Vegas Bachelor events. Also, I deal with Setting up events and promotion work I deal with ordering and recruiting models or entertainers looking to promote or perform at one of our Gigs. "

PSYCHO
Continuing the Post-Retribution setting, this fic follows Sidestep through his day as the the-facto leader of the Rebellion, solving problems and attempting to carry out his master plan.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Good doctor, I know you haven't been completely honest with me" you speak as you continue to walk towards him. Confident. Intimidating. By now you don't need a mask to fall into your villain persona.
"Whatever do you mean Retribution?" he asks raising from his bench. His mind is a maze as usual. You're not sure what kind of chemicals is he using, but you haven't been able to read him so far.
“These have all been temporary setbacks! The prototype will be ready in time" he adds
"Funny. I believe the prototype is ready right now, and you've been making up these delays because you're having second thoughts"
"That's not true" Mortum protests "I just need more time! You need to adjust the time-frame! You're asking for the impossible!"
"I thought impossible is what you do Mortum." You spit his own words back at him. "Perhaps you need a little incentive. Maybe we can bring Eden to one of our little chats".
"N... no" his voice trembles. "That.. won't be necessary"
"Good. Is there, or is there not something you can do to ready the device for a demonstration?" you ask.
"Maybe... maybe I can adjust some of the parameters to allow for early testing" he starts. Bingo. You knew something was up, but you went through the plans three times without finding any mistake. He’s too crafty for you to find the flaw with his work.  It took a threat to drive it out of him. Already he wants to betray you.
"Excellent."
"It won't be operative without incorporating the Hourglass technology!" he complains.
"I know that Doctor. Rest assured It will be acquired as planned," you say, heading for the door. "Just remember it was you who didn't want Eden involved" your let out before leaving, poison dripping from your words.
You can hear a loud noise. Even the preparations he made to cloud his mind from you can't cover the outburst. Your mind easily picks up on his rage, as he begins trashing the lab, flinging test tubes and destroying a computer. And then, he stops. And goes back to the test chamber, to start working again.
You can't help but feel some of his own frustration drip into yourself.
You have to keep going, removing each and every one of the obstacles ahead.  And all your plans fall apart if you don’t manage to master this technology. You hate doing this, but there is no choice. If Mortum fails to deliver, you will have to find someone who will.
The new underground lair now resembles a small city. The abandoned bunker has been expanded with new tunnels and completely refurbished, and now holds most of your rebellion. It was originally created by a doomsday cult whose leader was exposed as a fraud all over the media almost a decade ago. The guy was not wrong, you ponder, but he had his dates mixed up.
Your vehicle is ready, and a soldier regen drives you away through the tunnels, and towards the debriefing room. It's going to be another long day.
--------------------------------------------------
You rush through the corridor. Cestus follows you, reading the latest report as he keeps up the phase.
"Another skirmish in San Francisco. We lost seven soldiers" he goes on to describe the battle.
"Our Frisco team is low on manpower" he continues. "Their rangers again"
You sigh. "Order the lab to ... start growing a new battalion of them." He stops. You keep walking. He catches up.
"Cellex won't like this"
"Well, what Ceelex doesn't know, he can't complain about" you answer.
Soldier regenes. The farm has perfected a quick process to breed them in a matter of weeks. They are non-sentient and almost completely guided by their implants. You stole hundreds of them, still in their pods when you assaulted the farm. Everyone agreed to use them at the time.
But now your operations have gone nation-wide, even beyond the West Coast. And a few hundred soldiers is nothing compared to your enemies. The soldiers are highly effective, but Heroes keep killing them. They can sometimes be a bit predictable unless you have a sentient agent leading them.
So you ordered your labs to start growing new ones. Everyone was troubled by it, you didn't need to be a telepath to know. If you're growing regenes and sending them to fight, how are you different from the farm? But Soldiers are tools. They would never complain about this situation. It's what they're made for. You have the technology and none among the sentient regenes wants to die. Well, mostly none of course... In any case, having soldiers around makes it easier for the sentient regenes to survive the ongoing war.
And of course, if you accomplish your plan, it will remove this moral ambiguity altogether. If only they were ready to understand it...
No one raised an issue in the end. No one but Cellex. And nobody liked it when you told him you would do it anyways.  Seeing how he was outvoted, he insisted on reviewing how many of them you use. He wants to put some sort of limit. And you can’t have that. Not if you want to succeed. You are becoming the villain among your people as well, perhaps sooner than you expected.
You stop by the reinforced door.
"Get it done Cestus" "Of course Cyrus," He says looking down You put a hand on his shoulder "Hey. It's ok. I know It's a lot I'm asking of you. But we need to use the tools we've been given if we want to win" you reassure him, adding a slight mental touch to get him on board with it. "O.. ok," he says looking up, some light returned to his gaze. "I know Cyrus.. it's just hard" "You can do it. I always trusted you Cestus" "It's not about trust... Say...  Are you going to see charge again?" he says looking away. The question reeks of envy in his mind. "I need to ask him some questions about the Frisco Rangers" you lie. "I don't want a repeat of today" "Alright," he nods. "See you back at your quarters," he says as he leaves.
You just want to scream in frustration. But you can't. You brought this on yourself. Cestus and you were secretly together back at the farm. And now that you're together again. You need his vote on the council you lead. It is as simple as that. You still feel... something for him, but it's certainly not love. And maybe it never was.
But you smile and kiss him, and let him be with you because then he'll be completely loyal. And you are going to need loyal badly very soon. And then there's Ortega. Your prisoner. Your enemy. All you had to do was get rid of him. Maybe a prisoner exchange. What did you do? Keep him close. talk to him. Give him a (supervised) job in your base. And end up in bed with him while at it. That's you. Self-destructive to the core. His game is clear. First, he thinks he can convince you to go back into the good path, deluded idiot he is. Second, obviously wants to "Seduce the villain" to get you to make a mistake. The worst part? It's actually working. You've curved down the unnecessary deaths and try to keep civilian casualties down where you could thank to his insistence on the subject.
Some in your council questioned your decisions. You justified yourself saying you want there to be peace after your side has won the war.
Win the war... It's shocking just how easily they bought all your lies about the glorious victory of the rebellion. Casualties will come in the end. They are just irrelevant right now.
------------------------------------------------------------- You nod to the guards at the cell's entrance, and the open it for you...
"Well if it isn't my favorite Psycho?" Ortega speaks sarcastically as you enter the large cell. It's more like a small appartment now, with several amenities like a TV and insulated gaming consoles.
"Had a rough day" you begin "Yeah, I saw. You blew up a shopping mall in San Francisco with a nanite weapon" he accuses you.
"It was empty. Like the museum"
"It doesn't matter if it's empty! You're causing panic in the city!"
"Well, that's on them. If they would agree to my terms, none of this would be necessary. And I needed to show them HELIOS isn't my only weapon.
"So you're resorting to terrorism"
"Stop," you say "The only deaths were on our side anyways"
"You're sending your people to die then," he says glaring at you.
"Stop" you repeat, wrapping your arms around him. It's surprising how physical you've become now that every threat to your existence is gone. "I would electrocute you, If your scientist hadn't disconnected my emitters, you know," He says, not stopping you.
"But you can't. And my scientist did disconnect your emitters"
"Well maybe i found a way to reactivate them, you know?"
"Zap me then. Fry me right here. Stop the leader of the revolution." You hold him tighter, inviting him to act on his threat.
Nothing happens.
He frees himself from your arms. "You're the one who needs to stop. I'm not your bitch, you can't come here and..." "Maybe I AM your bitch after all Ricardo. That's what the media used to report all the time about your little sidekick, didn’t they? Sidestep was just that" You say with a cynical smile "Do you remember how they made fun of me? How they... " He gives you a murderous glare, and then spins you, holding an arm behind your back, painfully. He pushes you against a wall, pinning you down. "Oh...bossy. I like it" you say with a snort, your face against the wall. "Shut up!" he says adding pressure. You choke a gasp of pain. He might break your arm if you're not careful or call the guards. But you won't. You want to provoke him He let's go, walking away. Cooling down. That's not what you need. "What's the matter, Ricardo? I destroyed a fucking shopping mall. Big deal.  Doesn't the Hero in you want to give me a lesson?" You taunt. "I remember how mad you got when I crashed your car's window so all those years ago."
And then it all happens too fast. He lifts you... and flings you. You fall on the bed. He closes in, and climbs on top of you, holding your wrists down, a furious expression overtaking him.
And you kiss him. And he kisses you back, pinning you down. Taking your clothes off. Exposing the tattoos.
He's going to make it hurt. And you deserve it. Especially after what you did to Mortum today. That's why you provoked him in the first place. It won't matter in the end. Nothing will. You may as well have as many moments with him as you can before your plan comes to a conclusion.
Before you set things right.
Before you put an end to it all. You. Him. Everyone else.
.....................................................................
“What’s with the names?” he asks as he lays exhausted by your side. He always does this. String you from some more information. And you let him. Tease him for more next time.
“What do you mean?”
“Cellex. Cybra. Cestus. Cyrus. I am noticing a theme?”
You smile. Of course, there’s a theme.
“Infiltration regenes like me are called Cuckoos. At some point after my second capture, I started promoting this... rebellion. We decided to give ourselves names, not just serial bar codes. They’re the ones who helped me escape the second time”
“So the C stands for Cuckoo?” he asks
“It was Cellex’s idea. To be proud of what we are.”
“And are you?” He says looking at you.
“Of course not.” You say wondering how can he even ask that. “They made us to be slaves. They had us kill people. They owned our bodies. They did... terrible things to us Ricardo” you can’t stop thinking about Cybra. About how she can’t speak at all now. The sole idea makes your skin crawl with anger.
“I talked to Celise” he lets on.
“Oh.” You ponder. Celise. She’s one of you, but she’s been content to stay on the back lines of your rebellion. Her power isn’t offensive or suited for combat. She is likely working the tunnels... just like Ortega.
“She told me something of what happened... how they took you for experiments... for whole days. She tells me it was pretty bad every time they took you back to your cell.”
You can’t help nausea. “Pretty bad” doesn’t begin to describe it.
“They were animals” you let go. “That’s why I killed every single one I could when we took the farm.”
“But why... why the focus on you?”
“I stopped the Nanosurge, Ricardo. And when no one could stop Heartbreak, I just walked in and shot him. They were impressed”
“Oh?”
“The Farm’s funding had been cut in half prior to Heartbreak. The whole program was always a risk if it filtered into the media. The government was focusing on mods instead. There were even talks about closing it. And then, they got me, and they shifted all their attention to my powers, and how could they create others like me to fight their wars. They stopped at nothing... they figured out my emotions had to do with my ability. What they did to me...It was beyond torture... it was hell.”
“Shit” Ortega says holding your hand. “Do you... want to talk about it?” he asks.
Fuck. For a moment, he had you. You had begun to forget where you were. THat he was your prisoner.
You raise from the bed, dressing up, letting go of his hand.
“Perhaps another time Ricardo”
You leave the room.
--------------------------------------------
The guards lock the cell behind you. You got what you wanted from him. And he got answers, for whatever those are worth.
You walk to the elevator and enter. This one has a mirror.
The reflection glares at you with a murderous expression.
Is this who you are now? It strikes you how little is left from your old self, the naive youngster who thought he could have a life by just escaping the farm.
Deluded fool. It took you some time to realize your past self was the cause of it all.
"Cyrus" a voice in the intercom speaks. It's Cellex.
"What is it?" You ask in your most neutral tone.  Did Cestus tell him about the new regene soldiers you ordered? This might be a problem.
"We've found objective one" he speaks calmly. "The Hourglass Armor"
"Really?" you say containing your breath. "Where?"
"There is a freak calling us. Calls himself Psycopathor. He really wants to talk to you"
"Well fuck me," you say annoyed. "I'll be right there"
"I assume you're not on good terms?" Cellex asks sarcastically.
"I'm coming! Don't call him again until I'm there! You don't know that guy, he's a...
"...a psycho?" Cellex asks with a snort. You are just frozen, staring at your own reflection. The elevator doors take an eternity to open, and you leave without looking back.

A Guide to Carrollton TX
Located in Dallas, Denton and Collin counties, Carrollton is the 23rd-most populous city in Texas. Its population was 133,434 as of the 2020 census.
Tumblr media
The History of Carrollton TX
Carrollton has a rich history that includes a number of notable individuals. One of the most well-known was Wade H. Perry, who was instrumental in the growth of the area. He was a successful businessman who built homes, churches, schools, and even a railroad depot in Carrollton, which helped develop the city into an industrial hub.
Early settlers to Carrollton came from the state of Illinois and had to overcome a lot in order to settle in North Texas. They typically married young and had large families. Their cabins were often only 12 x 14 feet, so they had to be very sturdy and well constructed.
The arrival of a new railroad and post office in the late 1800s was a game changer for the town. The Cotton Belt, Katy, and Frisco railroads provided passenger and freight service through Carrollton, and the train station was an important hub of business activity.
This railroad and post office revolution was the start of a new era in the history of Carrollton, and the area became an important transportation hub for the entire region. The city is still well served by the three railroads that run through it, and they all offer access to major airports in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
A Visit to the Historic Trinity Mills
The first mill in the area was operated by A.W. Perry in the 1870s, and it is located in what is now known as Trinity Mills. The mill produced brick for many buildings, including the Belle Allen home, and several other structures in downtown Carrollton.
A visit to the historic mills can provide a great deal of insight into how life in Carrollton was different from what it is today. It is also a good place to enjoy some of the local culture and cuisine.
It’s a great way to spend the day with family or friends. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to keep everyone entertained.
Taking a stroll around this park is an excellent way to relax and unwind with your loved ones. The park spans 12.3 acres and features a large playground with rock climbing, slides, swings, and more. There are also restrooms and a rentable pavilion.
You can also take your kids here to enjoy a splash in the water. The park is a popular destination for those looking to cool down on a hot summer day.
The Rosemeade Recreation Center is a fun and affordable place to go with your family or friends. The facility has 2 gyms, 4 racquetball courts, volleyball and basketball courts, a game room, refreshment areas, and a dance floor.
There are plenty of things to do in Carrollton, and you can find many of them for free or very inexpensively. You can even visit the parks and museums for a cheap and fun experience!

Advantages of Spray Foam Insulation
There are some major advantages to spray foam insulation. The biggest one is that it’s a great way to save money on energy bills.
It also improves indoor air quality and reduces allergens. This is especially important if you or your family members suffer from allergies, asthma, or chemical sensitivities.
The foam expands to cover even the smallest nooks and crevices, making it an effective air-sealing insulator. It also has a high R-value that means you won’t have to replace it as often as other types of insulation.
Having a well-insulated home can be essential in preventing fires from occurring in your home. This will help prevent any short circuits or domestic accidents from causing a fire to break out.
Another benefit is that it makes your home safer by keeping moisture out of the walls and reducing the chances of mold infestation. Moisture can easily seep through gaps and cracks around vents and pipes, putting your home at risk for mold growth.
It also increases the sturdiness of your wall. This is because it’s dense and hard, so it won’t deform in the presence of heavy winds or strong snow.
The foam also has a high R-value, meaning that it will keep your home warm and cozy even when the temperature is low. This helps to prevent your energy bill from skyrocketing and can make your house more attractive to prospective homebuyers.
Finally, the foam is environmentally friendly, as it doesn’t emit any harmful chemicals. However, it’s worth noting that some of the blowing agents used in spray foam can have very high GWPs, which means they’re more than twice as powerful at accelerating climate change than carbon dioxide.

40+ Places to Shop Local (Online) for Christmas Gifts on Small Business Saturday and Beyond
Tumblr media
All photos by me - Kristina Rowe (and most are pre-pandemic. Apparently I’m not much of a shopper.)
I hope your Thanksgiving was great and I hope you’ve been able to support some small businesses today. Here’s a list I originally posted on Reddit of some Dallas small businesses where you can shop for Christmas gifts or for yourself.
Online shopping options are linked or described here to give you the safest possible shopping experience.
I’ll be sharing some more holiday shopping lists featuring local Dallas businesses soon. (Some of us aren’t into Black Friday shopping, even in non-COVID-19 years.)
Happy Shopping, you’ll feel great when you shop local!
Toys
Froggie's 5 &10 - Note: Not much can be purchased online. This store will be moving in 2021 so they are offering discounts on pretty much everything in the store.
Toy Maven - Toys, games, novelties, and lots more.
Toys Unique - Games, puzzles, arts & crafts and lots more.
Twig & Olive - Boxed sets that encourage creative play with no batteries, buttons or screens.
Gaming
Common Ground Games - With board games, trading card games, miniatures and paints, it will also someday once again be a great place to meet others and play games. Their week-long small business Saturday sale runs through Sunday, Dec 6.
Madness Games and Comics (Plano) -  A pop culture mega store with new comics, graphic novels, actions figures, board games, RPGs, and more.
Tumblr media

Bikes

Sports/Outdoors
A J Vagabonds - Outdoor & Sporting Goods store in Bishop arts with a motto of “Go Outside Y’all.” They have fun stuff and great gift ideas on their Facebook page, but it looks like most of it cannot be purchased online.
Buddy’s Sporting Goods - In business 40+ years, focus on team sports equipment and apparel.
Dynamic Discs - This company wasn’t “born in Dallas” and isn’t headquartered here, but it’s family-owned and has a small footprint with a strong presence in Carrollton and Lewisville. If you’re into disc sports, you’ll want to shop here.
Not Just Soccer (Dallas & Fort Worth) - locally owned and operated business specializing in everything youth sports.
Play it Again Sports (Plano) - Locally owned, new and used sporting goods and gear.
Ray’s Sporting Goods - The iconic Dallas guns and more store on Singleton.
Plants
North Haven Gardens - Sustained a hard hit from the tornado, got up and dusted itself off and got back into business. Truly deserving of your support!
Ruibal’s Plants - Locally owned and managed with four (beautiful!) locations in Dallas.
Books
Deep Vellum - A nonprofit publishing house and literary arts organization. Order books they’ve published through DeepVellum.org or request any book you want and they will order it for you through DeepVellum.com.
Half Price Books - OK, they’re a huge chain but they belong to Dallas.
Interabang - Another tornado recovery story, their online shopping system is quite robust.
Lucky Dog Books - Used book stores in Mesquite, Oak Cliff, and East Dallas. No online shopping site, but you can call or email requests to see if they have something you want in stock and they will ship it to you.
The Wild Detectives - To provide an online shopping experience, they’ve leveraged Bookshop.org, which offers a large selection, great service, and supports local bookstores with the proceeds of sales.
Tumblr media
Pretty bonbons from Chocolate Secrets.
Chocolates
Cocoa Andre - This Mexican-American family-owned chocolate shop has Mexican chocolates, themed chocolate molds, vegan chocolate, bean to bar chocolates made in house and much more.
Chocolate Secrets - Hand-painted bonbons and truffles are the thing here. They also have a great selection of different chocolate Santas, Christmas trees and other fun holiday-themed chocolates.
Dude, Sweet Chocolate - Chef Katherine Clapner likes peculiar things and unique flavor combos and it shows (in a good way) in the delicious chocolates and treats she makes.
Kate Weiser Chocolate - Oprah made Kate Weiser’s “Carl the Snowman” famous. Handmade and beautifully painted candy bars are special here anytime and the holiday version is no exception.
Tumblr media
Pre-pandemic in the gift shop at Nasher Sculpture Center.
Gift Shops/Flower Shops/Stationery
Abundantly Aromatic -  Soaps, body scrubs, Shea Butter lotions, and more all  handmade locally with all-natural ingredients.

Lucky Franklin - T-shirts, sweatshirts and more for dog and cat moms, plant lovers and other wonderful people.
Mosaic Makers - Multiple local makers under one roof (and in one online shop!)
Odin’s Leather Goods - Leather bags, belts, and bracelets are just a few of the offerings at this store that went from making products at their dining room table and selling them on Etsy to a  workshop space in Coppell.
Neighborhoods
Bishop Arts District - This website has links to many of the retailers in the Bishop Arts District. Use the links there to check out which ones offer online shopping.
Deep Ellum - Here’s where to shop in Deep Ellum.  Be sure to “Load More” at the bottom of the page to see them all.Use the links there to visit individual shops for online shopping links.
Tumblr media
I bought one of these handmade totes from Lucky Franklin and then I won another one (full of locally made goodies) in a Boho Market giveaway a year or so later.
More suggestions:
Buy merchandise (T-shirts, hats, etc.) online from restaurants, bars, small music venues, coffee shops, breweries, distilleries and more. Just visit the full website of your favorite places and look for a link to “shop.” Or if you’re in a position where you can do so, look for a donation or GoFundMe link on their site and help out some of the hardest-hit places. They could use your support.
Hardware stores under the True Value and Ace brands are usually locally owned and operated. My favorite is Rooster Home and Hardware because George the Rooster lives there. Online shopping is through TrueValue.com. I’m told Stones Ace Hardware in East Dallas has free beer while you shop.
Shop local from dozens of area makers at Etsy Dallas. Use the links on the page to go to the Etsy stores that interest you.
The State Fair of Texas has a holiday shopping site where you can buy State Fair souvenir gifts and shop from State Fair vendors and GoTexan merchants.
Also, here’s a large list of local businesses offering gift cards, compiled by the Dallas Morning News in cooperation with USA Today.
Next week my list of great gifts of wine and spirits from local producers and shops is coming to the Dallas Observer Food and Drink section. Stay tuned!!

Branson's top-dos can best be described as family-friendly with a western nation. Think Disney World meets Nashville.
There is Silver Dollar City, which attracts children with thrilling trips and makes parents happy with the "fun, clean" atmosphere. There are also ample educational opportunities, from the history of the "unsinkable" ship at the Titanic Museum to animal and environmental science lessons at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. What's more, Table Rock Lake affords a picturesque place for swimming and boating, while an array of performance venues like the Sight & Sound Theatres will entertain the whole family with singing, dancing, and music.
[toc]
1. Table Rock Lake
The Rock Lake board covers over 50,000 acres, with nearly 800 miles of coastline, in southwest Missouri. Visitors enjoy the natural diversions of swimming, boating, fishing and even scuba diving at the lake, especially since they're so different from the rest of Branson's activities.
Recent tourists, from aspiring fishermen to families with young children, say Table Rock Lake is clean, peaceful and absolutely lovely. Fishing, swimming and sunset trips receive special appreciation from visitors.
2. Branson Landing
Branson Landing is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment center located along Lake Taneycomo that spans 1.5 miles.
Along with shops and restaurants, the area also boasts a lakeside boardwalk and a series of water fountains set to lights, fire, and music (the feature was designed by the same company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas).
Recent travelers enjoyed shopping at the more than 100 storefronts in the center, as well as eating at its restaurants, including Cantina Laredo and White River Fish House. More adventurous visitors highly recommended Parakeet Pete's Waterfront Zipline, which allows visitors to zip line across the lake.
3. Silver Dollar City
Silver Dollar City is a unique theme park in that it contains both thrilling rides and entertainment, and it embraces a late 19th-century vibe. Even when guests scream on the latest trip, they will still feel like they were transferred to the 1880s.
Attractions like the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train, which travels through Ozarks country, and the signature Fire-In-The-Hole roller coaster, which mimics a coal mine caught ablaze, help foster the old-time feeling.
A range of shops that carry homemade candies and handwoven rugs, among other eats and wares, also lend themselves to the homespun theme. Along with its trips and shops, Silver Dollar City is known for its programs, ranging from pickers and storytellers to gospel performers and musicals.
Although Silver Dollar City is family-friendly, some people say this park is best for children 36 inches or taller because there is a height requirement for most trips. Tourists also recently mentioned the hills inside the park, suggesting that future travelers should be prepared to walk.
Some people also warn that eating options may stand to improve. If you don't want to purchase snacks in the park, pack your own; Silver Dollar City allows visitors to bring in food and nonalcoholic beverages.
4. Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery
The shepherd of the Hills Fish Farm is a salmon farming facility operated by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Travelers can tour the hatchery, which produces between 350,000 to 400,000 pounds of rainbow and brown trout annually.
You can also walk on one of the four trails - which allow fishing to reach Lake Taneycomo - pack a picnic to enjoy at picnic tables and pavilions, and see the natural center of the hatchery.
Families traveling with children said they would love to feed the fish, but they suggest future visitors take them to the neighborhood to pay for fish food and a cup to collect food for. fish. Others highly recommended making time to view the video in the visitor center and speak to the friendly and knowledgeable docents.
5. College of the Ozarks
A university visit may not usually be on your to-do list, but the College of the Ozarks is unique. Nicknamed "Hard Work U," this college allows students to graduate debt-free if they work campus jobs while they attend.
Tourists recommend eating at the Dobyns Dining Room or Keeter Center, saying the food is delicious and the staff is very kind and professional.
6. Titanic Museum
When visitors enter the Titanic Museum, built to look like the real ship, they are issued a boarding pass with the name of the Titanic passenger actually on it.
At the end of the self-guided tour – which winds through a recreated grand staircase and past more than 400 artifacts preserved from the sunken vessel –, visitors see if the passengers on their tickets survive the notorious shipwreck.
Recent visitors have reported that the experience, while a bit expensive, has been well worth the huge admission fee. Parents, in particular, said their children enjoyed various interactive experiences.
Museumgoers can touch a real iceberg, plunge their hands into 28-degree water (the temperature of the ocean on that fateful night) and try to stand on the sloping decks, which mimic the incline of the ship as it was sinking.
7. Sight & Sound Theatres
The 2,000-seat movie theater & audio - with locations in Branson and Lancaster, Pennsylvania - is one of the top things to do in Branson. The theater has been called the "Christian Broadway" since its stages show with Biblical themes.
Some recent musicals include Sam Samson, "Jonah" and "Miracle of Christmas". Self-pay is family-friendly, Branson's Vision & Sound outpost even has a glass-covered family room, allowing parents to look after children and watch a show on TV without losing the audience concentrate.
But it's not just families that enjoyed the choreography and elaborately costumed performances. Critics of all ages always describe the shows as "awesome", praising the high level of talent, as well as special effects and general atmosphere.
Thanks to the stadium-style seating, many visitors said there's not a bad seat in the house (though some recommend booking a seat in the back half of the theater in the center section for the best view).
Recent visitors also enjoyed the one-hour behind-the-scenes tour, currently available from mid-March to mid-December. Tourists said the tour guides were friendly, informative. and help the audience to better understand the show scene.
8. White Water Branson
Visitors to White Water Branson, Silver Dollar City's sister attraction, will have the opportunity to splash into over 2 million gallons of water. Along with a lazy river and speed skating, White Water Branson also has a 500,000-gallon wave pool.
Most tourists say that the water park spends a great time, while others say that while the staff is friendly, the park's attractions are only average when compared to public parks. other water pills. To avoid waiting time, reviewers recommend going to the park when it's open in the morning.
9. Promised Land Zoo
The faith-based zoo was founded in the 1990s by the Sanders family to preserve and rescue endangered animals. Current critters include sloths, kinkajous, and kangaroos. It also employs a number of biologists and conservationists who are responsible for the animals.
Like the rest of Branson, the zoo gets into the Christmas spirit and hosts a drive-thru lights display in November and December.
Recent visitors recommended purchasing the VIP experience. With the VIP experience, visitors have the opportunity to feed, keep and interact with a number of creatures in the zoo. Other features include guided tram tours and foot safari, among other attractions.
Reviewers say the interaction with the zoo's animals makes the pricey ticket well worth the money. Travelers also warn future visitors about the zoo's religious postings throughout the space. Though the postings did not detract from their visit, it could be jarring to those unfamiliar with the zoo's religious affiliation.
10. Branson Scenic Railway
You can take a ride on the Branson Scenic Railway at the historic warehouse in downtown Branson and take a winding train through the foothills of the Ozark mountain range. November and December are especially popular times since the train turns into Polar Express, eliminating children's favorite books of the same name.
The experience includes a live reading of the book, hot cocoa for all and a visit from Santa Claus.
Recent visitors said the train ride was enjoyable and that they learned a few things along the way about the towns that used to lie along the tracks. Others said that there wasn't too much picturesque scenery to enjoy during the 40-minute trip, but parents mentioned their kids loved the Polar Express experience.

25 Crazy Cool Collections in DFW
It was actually the installation of three painted pianos in downtown Dallas that inspired this article. I wondered how many out of the ordinary collections and displays I could find around DFW, and it turned out to be quite a few. Use our links and maps to see these offbeat art pieces and artifacts.
A Quirky Assortment
If you’ve lived in North Texas, you’ve heard of a few of these, but I also found some that may surprise you. All of these goofball (but sometimes serious) collections are must-see sights for DFW locals and visitors alike.
Painted Pianos in Historic Downtown Mansfield
Photo courtesy of Mansfield 88 Piano Project
I was pretty surprised to learn that Mansfield has painted pianos too. Called the Mansfield 88 Piano Project, there are currently 9 painted pianos located in various parts of the city’s historic downtown. “Downtown Mansfield” is the name of a free app you can download (iOS or Android) to guide you to the pianos and other public art plus services, shopping, dining and more in Mansfield.

400 Cowboy Hats Art Piece in Fort Worth
Photo courtesy of Fort Worth Public Art
Around here, star-shaped art is moderately commonplace. This particular star is definitely not your ordinary art. It’s 28 feet wide and suspended from the ceiling at the Fort Worth Convention Center. What makes it a collection is the fact that the star is covered with 400 cowboy hats – all donated by the local, locally famous, or nationally known people who wore them. Artist Donald Lipski named the piece Intimate Apparel and Pearl Earrings. It’s free to view if you’re in the convention center when there’s not a scheduled event.

Five Recreated Entire Rooms from World-Renowned Art Collectors in Dallas
Almost every museum in existence contains a few oddball art pieces or exhibitions, and the Dallas Museum of Art is no different. For over 30 years, a 16,500-square-foot wing has been the home of an actual home. Well, it’s not really a home, but it’s a recreation of five rooms where Wendy and Emery Reves lived in the south of France.
The villa was designed by Coco Chanel, and over a thousand art pieces were displayed there. In the recreated bedroom, dining room, salon, library, and hall, you will see over a thousand art pieces including works by impressionist painters Cézanne, Gauguin, Manet, and Monet. Their collection also included sculpture by Auguste Rodin and even some artwork by Winston Churchill, who was a frequent guest in their home.
This exhibit is part of the permanent collection at the DMA, so it’s all free to see.

A Park Decked with Teddy Bear Statues in Highland Park
The Turtle Creek Dam bridge and its surroundings are part of a beautifully landscaped city park in Highland Park. The park has been listed so many times in “hidden places in Dallas” articles that it’s no longer a secret of any kind, but it’s still a fun place to hang out.
You see, amid the mature trees and near the Read Memorial fountain you’ll find four (much) larger than life statues – of teddy bears! The biggest one is taller than most adults – stand beside it, hug it, or sit on its lap for an iconic Dallas selfie.

The Chairy Orchard in Denton
Photo courtesy of The Chairy Orchard
Chairy is not a typo here – this is no grove of cherry trees, but a mini orchard full of chairs. I said mini, because when you go, if you’re looking for a huge field or a park-like place, you’ll drive right by it. The Chairy Orchard was dreamed up by two Dallas businesswomen who are also neighbors. It occupies a vacant lot between their houses in a residential neighborhood.
The lot sits back from the street a ways, but you can definitely see it when you arrive. Walk through the lawn a few yards, and you’ll be surrounded by an incredible assortment of all kinds of chairs, mostly donated by the people of Denton. The collection of crazy chairs just keeps growing, and it’s a truly magical place for a professional or an impromptu photo shoot.
This unique attraction in Denton is free to visit, but you can purchase a pen or a cup on-site or a T-shirt online to support the project. Its Facebook page tells us there are exciting improvements ahead and mentions that they are working with Valley Quest Design – a local landscape architecture firm.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not and its Free Outdoor Sculpture Garden in Grand Prairie
Photo courtesy of Ripley's Believe It or Not! (Grand Prairie, TX)
It would be hard to argue against Ripley’s Believe it or Not as the wackiest collection in DFW. Its Odditorium and Wax Museum are just two of the five attractions on site. Prices vary, and combo tickets for multiple attractions are available.
Parking is free at the Ripley’s, and before you head inside (or even if you don’t), you can wander through their outdoor sculpture garden. It’s got a giant ball of barbed wire, a set of three chromosaurs (dinosaurs modeled out of chrome auto parts), and an oversized gorilla (also made of auto parts.) Add in a few more oddball statuary and you’re in for a fun time and some unbelievable photos!

Japanese Samurai Armor in Dallas
Photo courtesy of The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection
This collection isn’t wacky, but it’s a little bit crazy that the largest collection of Samurai armor outside of Japan is right here in Dallas. The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum is on the second floor, directly above Saint Ann restaurant, so the location is a bit quirky as well.
The armor and other artifacts come from the Barbier-Mueller’s personal collection in which they amassed over a thousand treasures over the last 25 years. Many of the helmets, masks, and horse equipment objects are on display at the museum, while others are loaned to traveling exhibits, and still more are displayed in lobbies of the Dallas real estate developer’s buildings. The museum (like most others in DFW and nationwide) is closed on Monday, but has public hours six days a week and is free. (Tuesday evening cocktail events require a small admission fee and include a tasty beverage.)

Tools of the Funeral Service Trade (Circa Late 1800s) in Grapevine
Photo courtesy of Tarrant County Historical Commission Friends
One of the oldest funeral homes in North Texas, J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home has been in continuous operation since 1880. On the north end of their property, on Main Street in historic downtown Grapevine, you’ll encounter a small building with glass walls. Inside the display room, you can view a horse-drawn hearse, several coffins, and other items unique to the funereal business. A historical marker outside the display pays tribute to the Foust family and their civic as well as business contributions to Grapevine.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (Not to Mention Motorcycles)
The Dallas area has a wide range of activities, museums, and exhibits related to modern methods of travel. These examples have some very interesting collections.

This exhibit is one of 13 collections at the Frontiers of Flight museum. From the earliest attempts at flight to space flight and much, much more in between, you’ll see some awe-inspiring things here. Open 7 days a week, the museum’s admission fee is modest, and parking is free.

Other Flying Collections
If you love plane-centered museums, DFW has kind of a collection of those. In addition to the Frontiers of Flight Museum, you may also want to check out the CR Smith Museum, the Vintage Flying Museum, or the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison.
Real Railroad Cars and Locomotives in Frisco
DFW has numerous museums surrounding the railroad industry which breathed life into the area and made it what it is today. We even have an operative Vintage Railroad train, and we have the largest permanent model train display in America. I may have to round those up for you in a future story, but for now, let me tell you about the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco. You can read more about the train fun in DFW here.
Originally opened in Fair Park in 1963, the museum and its contents were physically moved to Frisco starting in 2008. Tours of the rolling stock are still somewhat limited. Please check the website for details before visiting the museum.

Vintage Cars in Weatherford
Photo courtesy of Vintage Car Museum and Event Center
There are surprisingly few car collections in DFW. (I guess all the cars are on dealer lots or on the freeways!) But in one suburb of Fort Worth, you can view a collection of classic automobiles at the free Vintage Car Museum & Event Center. Even more cool classic cars are on display at the Vintage Grill across the street.
Of course, if you want to make the five-hour drive out to Amarillo, you can stop by the iconic Cadillac Ranch.

There’s a new museum in town, and you’ve never seen anything like it. At age 70, Dallas financier and former National Geographic aerial photographer Bobby Haas has outdone himself yet again. His latest claim to fame is the newly opened Haas Moto Museum in the Design District.
The museum showcases over 100 classic, custom, and vintage motorcycles as well as sculptures and artwork that celebrate motorcycle culture over a span of 12 decades. The cycles are all from Haas’s personal collection which he started amassing after riding a motorcycle for the first time at age 64.
The museum will be closed from until September 3rd to refresh its exhibits, so make plans to visit after Labor Day.

Bonus: It’s not in DFW, but one of a very few things I’d drive to Houston to see is their Art Car Museum.
Before Planes, Trains, or Automobiles
Before the advent of trains made diversifying the area’s economy possible, cattle were a large source of income for many North Texans. The DFW area has its own collection of cattle drive art paying tribute to those days.
Three Cattle Drive Bronze Installations in Dallas, Plano, and Frisco
Pioneer Plaza in Dallas
Photo courtesy of Dallas Segway Tours
Texas artist Robert Summers began creating this installation for the city of Dallas in 1992. With 49 six-foot-tall steers and 3 cowboys, it was (at the time) the largest bronze sculpture installation in the world. (It’s still the largest cattle drive sculpture anywhere.) Located in a City of Dallas park near the convention center, the cattle seem to wander over a limestone ridge and through a nearby water feature straight into the heart of downtown.

Trails in Legacy near Baccus Plaza in Plano
Also by Robert Summers, this cattle drive stretches down Bishop street over the course of several blocks. This gives the effect of a realistic trail drive with some riders and cattle lagging behind the others.

The smallest of the three installations, this one is also in the most scenic setting. Set within the water feature and fountain in Central Park, this Created by Anita Pauwels in 2003 depicts cowboys at rest and steers in motion.

The Mustangs of Las Colinas in Irving
If you like horse statues better than cow statues, you may like The Mustangs in Las Colinas by African wildlife artist Robert Glen. It even has a museum dedicated to the artist’s time designing and building it.

Architectural
Dallas has a couple of beautiful architectural collections too.

Online Collections
There are a number of online collections related to North Texas, and I picked a couple to share with you. One is simply a huge repository of interesting information and the other was a long-time public display in Dallas that’s now available to tour online.
Portal to Texas History
This is a collection of collections available courtesy of the University of North Texas. It contains reference material on thousands of subjects from agriculture to wrestling.
The Adrian E. Flatt, M.D. Hand Collection – Online Only
Frequently mentioned in lists of quirky or obscure attractions in Dallas, this public exhibit may have been permanently closed. Formerly located at Truett Memorial Hospital, now part of Baylor University Medical I couldn’t confirm any of its details on an official website or Facebook page. However, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) has created a virtual exhibit of over 100 bonze-cast hands. Dr. Flatt created these casts of famous people from all walks of life – musicians, athletes, politicians, artists and more.
And of course FunCityStuff.com!
Of course, we hope your favorite online collection is the FunCityStuff.com website. We love to collect and share stories and tips about fun places, fun food, and fun stuff in North Texas. Let us know how we’re doing in the comments or on our Facebook page.

A Guide to Things to do in Frisco
Surrounded by world-renowned ski resorts – Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Vail – Frisco, Colorado is often overlooked as a Colorado destination. But being a “resort-less” town has its perks, so many that this little mountain town shines on its own. It’s truly Summit County’s hidden gem.
I was first introduced to Frisco years ago when I moved to Colorado and would regularly drive through it to reach Breckenridge for my weekend ski fix. It wasn’t until the summer months that I really spent time and got to know Frisco. With three sides of public land surrounding the town, and the shores of Dillon Reservoir enclosing the other, the biking, hiking, and water activities are endless, making Frisco an ideal outdoor recreation destination. This winter I was invited by the Town of Frisco to spend a few days in town to get to know Frisco’s other side. My
My initial findings…The town of Frisco has a lot to offer and if done right, can be a more affordable destination than its neighbors.
To help you plan your trip to Frisco, I’ve put together a short guide complete with things to do in Frisco, where to eat and how to find the best lodging in Frisco. If you have any additional tips, we’d love to hear them in the comments.
Things to do in Frisco, Colorado
Ski Being in the heart of Summit County, Frisco is strategically placed within 30 minutes of six world-class ski resorts, including Copper Mountain (7 minutes), Breckenridge Ski Resort (15 minutes), Loveland Ski Area (20 minutes), Keystone (20 minutes), Arapahoe Basin (24 minutes) and Vail Mountain (30 minutes).
If you’d prefer not to drive your own car to the slopes, you can catch a ride on the  Summit Stage, which offers free public bus service throughout Summit County. The Summit Stage provides service to ski areas (Vail and Loveland are not in Summit County), lodging, town centers, retail areas, medical centers, and some residential areas. It’s a great – FREE – way to get around Summit County and try out multiple ski resorts.
Frisco Adventure Park In the winter the Frisco Adventure Park is the place to be for everything outdoors – tubing, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and even horse-drawn dinner sleigh rides. In the summer, the park features a bike park including a dirt bike jump facility, slope style course and pump track. You can also partake in a dinner chuck wagon experience! It’s an ultimate place for things to do in Frisco.
The Town of Frisco has partnered with Copper Mountain to offer ski and ride (snowboard) lessons, at the Frisco Adventure Park. The two-hour session offers a simple, convenient way to try skiing and riding and learn basic skills with the expertise of the Copper Mountain professional ski and ride instructors. Reservations are required.
The tubing hill features seven, lengthy 1,200-foot tubing lanes with lift service up the hill – it’s a great way to spend the afternoon! The first hour is $26 with each additional hour costing $10. Reservations are available online or over the phone, 970-668-2558. #gallery-0-36 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-36 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-36 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-36 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
At the Frisco Adventure Park you can partake in the Tumble Bubble Corral where visitors tumble, bounce and smash other tumblers in giant (9ft) plastic human hamster balls. This experience is like no other as you roll and slide on the snow at the base of the tubing hill.
For the last 30 years Two Below Zero has been offering horse-drawn sleigh or wagon rides through the scenic mountain trails of Frisco, Colorado. If you have the opportunity to do a dinner sleigh ride in the winter, you won’t be disappointed. (In the summer you can do a chuck wagon experience.) During the two-hour experience you will enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride to dinner, the meal itself, after dinner entertainment and the sleigh ride back to the lodge. It’s an amazing experience…and one of my favorite things to do in Frisco. (See my full review.)
Frisco Nordic Center The Frisco Nordic Center is actually located within the Frisco Adventure Park. The Center offers 27k of ski trails, 20k of snowshoe trails, rentals, ski skate or classic lessons and ski tuning.
Learn to Blow Glass at Gatherhouse GatherHouse Glassblowing Studio + Gallery, located just off of Main St. in Frisco, is the working artist’s studio of John Hudnut. John teaches glassblowing classes to all levels and does free demonstrations on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 2pm to 6 pm. Not only is it a great way to get a hands-on experience of working with 2000-degree molten glass but it’s an amazing life experience, especially for kids. On our last visit to Frisco, my daughter learned how to blow glass…she made a vase with John’s help and direction. The fact that she did it was such a confidence builder for her and an experience she will not soon forget.
Frisco Bay Marina During the winter months, you can head out to the Frisco Bay Marina to do a little ice fishing at Dillon Reservoir or to just soak up the views. In the summer, the Frisco Bay Marina is alive and jumping! With 25 miles of shoreline around Dillon Reservoir there is endless outdoor actives. Rent a paddle board for the day, try sailing or grab a fishing pole and see if you can catch one of Colorado’s famous trouts for dinner.
Woodward at Copper Woodward Copper Mountain – aka the Barn – is an indoor-outdoor freestyle training facility filled with trampolines, foam-pit jumps, jump ramps, rails, and a 60-foot-tall synthetic ski hill. (There are only four in the country!) I had always assumed Woodward was where those crazy daredevil, wanna-be X Gamers go to learn how to do the 1080 and backflips. I didn’t realize the true potential Woodward Copper provides for kids, teens AND adults until my visit. I discovered Woodward Copper isn’t just for kids or daredevils. It’s a safe, less intimidating environment (than the mountain) to learn how to do crazy daredevil, X Gamer jumps…as well as simple jumps through the trees or just learning a few basic freestyle moves. See my full review of Woodward Copper.
Stock up on Sweets The local candy store – Foote’s Rest – is literally a sweet spot in the towns history. The building was originally the 1870s-era assay office for Frisco – the place where miners went to have their gold and silver weighed and assessed – then the town’s post office, grocery store, gas station and now candy store. Oh, if only the walls could talk…the stories they could tell about Frisco. If you’re there, stop into Foote’s Rest for some of the best homemade fudge and ice cream you’ll ever taste.
Dog Sledding Do you ever wonder what it would be like to experience the Iditarod challenge? Why not give it a try, just not on the same extreme level. Give dogsledding a whirl in Frisco where there are several dog sledding experiences that will have you racing through the snow with your trusty barking four-legged steeds leading the way. Dog sledding in Frisco is something the whole family can do as well (most companies allow for children over the age of four).
High Country Activities
Good Time Adventures
Alpine Adventures
Frisco Historic Park and Museum Take a walk back in time when you visit the Frisco Historic Park and Museum. A cell phone walking tour will guide you through the history of this historic mining town. Along the way, you’ll stop at 11 historic – and original – buildings from an era of early life in Frisco. It’s a fun, short tour that will introduce you to the colorful past of the town and those who built it. I suggest you try to do this early in your visit to give you a flavor for the town you’re visiting.

Silverthorne Outlet Mall Technically, the Silverthorne Outlet Mall is not in Frisco BUT it’s a short 10-minute drive down the mountain and well worth the shopping and savings you’ll find. Think GAP, NIKE, Under Armor, Colombia, Gymboree, Ann Taylor, Polo, etc. And, remember you don’t have to drive. Take the free Summit Stage!
Free Snowcat Rides Ever ridden a snowcat? Jump on the snowcat at Copper Mountain for a free ride to experience parts of the mountain you rarely see. The ride is free with any lift ticket purchase or season pass to Copper Mountain.
Colorado BBQ Challenge  In June the Colorado BBQ Challenge will call Frisco home. The challenge will feature 70+ BBQers competing for a variety of awards, seven bands, pig races, kids’ activities, the 3rd Annual Fire Fighter Cook-Off, the Breckenridge Distillery Whiskey Tour, the Bacon Burner 6k and the best BBQ you will have in Colorado this year.
Concerts in the Park During the summer the Town of Frisco brings together great music at the FREE Outdoor Concert in the Park Series at the Historic Park Gazebo & Lawn at 120 Main Street. It’s a great – FREE – thing to do in Frisco.
Snowmobiling Snowmobiling is an awesome way to experience the mountain and all the fresh champagne powder without a lot of physical activity required.

  Lodging Options in Frisco
Frisco is not a ski resort town, so you won’t find your big luxury hotels here. However, the lodging options in Frisco still range from high-end luxury to inexpensive, budget friendly. You just have to look for them… Of course, you can leverage TripAdvisor to help but you may find smaller, private luxury condo options not included in its results. AirBnB and VRBO are also great resources but I’ve had hit or miss experiences with them and the results can be overwhelming to sort through… Here are a few resources I suggest checking out for lodging in Frisco to make your visit easy and comfortable.
Summit Mountain Rentals specializes in rentals in Frisco and Breckenridge. Tell them what you need, and they’ll find the perfect spot.
Bighorn Rentals is a locally owned vacation rental company just off Frisco Main Street and a great bet for vacation rentals.
For a retro vibe, the Frisco Lodge on Main Street is perfect.
Hotel Frisco is perfect for families, couples or anyone seeking a clean, updated and affordable room. It’s located in the middle of Main St. so you’re close to everything there is to do in town and right by the stop to grab a ride on the Summit Stage.
For a more romantic stay, the Frisco Inn on Galena (a block off Main Street).
For additional Frisco lodging options, check out what the Town of Frisco suggests.
Where to Eat in Frisco
The options for restaurants are endless in Frisco. Really. From Italian to seafood, to Cajun, to steakhouses and amazing brunch spots. You can’t go wrong. Here are a few of the top restaurant in Frisco I suggest visiting.
Vinny’s Restaurant Named the Best Restaurant in Frisco in 2016 Vinny’s Restaurant is a must. Its Euro-American Cuisine is owned and operated by Chef Vincent and his wife Sarah.  Don’t be fooled into thinking that “Vinny’s” means simple Italian food and pizza! Think homemade soups, seasonal organic salads, pastas, pork tenderloin, lamb shanks, duck leg confit…the options are endlessly delicious. And, did I mention the wine list, well let’s just say it made me happy. There are multiple varietals from regions around the world offered by the glass or the bottle. Vinny’s is open for lunch and dinner.  Reservations are recommended for dinner any night of the week.

#gallery-0-38 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-38 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-38 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-38 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Peppino’s This is the best pizza in town, not just according to me. Peppino’s was voted Best Pizza in Frisco by the Summit Daily. Even better, they deliver. If you do go (or order delivery) try one of their specialty pizzas. I love the BBQ Chicken pizza and the Aloha. Delish!!!
610 Main St. | (970) 668-5128
Butterhorn Bakery & Cafe Breakfast. Brunch. Lunch. Sweet Treats. Caffeine. Butterhorn Bakery & Cafe has it all. The restaurant packs it in during peak season so expect a crowd, but not too long of a wait. The menu offers a variety of options, all delicious. If you go, try one of the egg sandwiches or French Toast. You can also call your order in ahead of time and get it to go if you’re trying to catch a ride on the Summit Stage.
408 Main St. | (970) 668-3997
#gallery-0-39 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-39 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-39 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-39 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Lost Cajun I adore the Lost Cajun. Having eaten my way through New Orleans on countless occasions, I can honestly say the Lost Cajun has brought authentic Cajun cooking to Colorado. The restaurant itself is a TINY hole in the wall – three tables and a high-top bar table for guest to share. There is outdoor seating but in the winter, it’s closed. The open kitchen and Zydeco music makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a gumbo shop in Louisiana. To add to that feeling, every guest is offered a complimentary sampler of gumbo, rice and beans, and etouffee as soon as they sit down.  The menu is simple, affordable and brimming with flavor…it’s hard to pick just one item so order a few and share with the group. My top picks – shrimp poboy, rice and beans, crawfish pie and the shrimp platter.  Make sure to try the Beignets too, they might just be better than the ones you can get in New Orleans.
204 Main St. | (970) 668-4352
#gallery-0-40 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-40 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-40 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-40 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Bagalis Bagalis is chef-owned and features a classic Italian menu with several additional internationally inspired dishes, all with locally sourced ingredients. The rustic atmosphere creates a cozy setting for a delicious dinner…paired with one of the many wines Bagalis offers by the glass or the bottle. The seasonal menu does change so make sure to ask the server which dishes are their favorites. I discovered the amazingness of the Short Rib Fettuccine when I did that on my last visit. If you go, you must try the Truffle French Fries and the Bacon, Burrata, Brussel Sprouts.
320 East Main Street | (970) 668-0601
Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters Roasting and serving local Colorado Coffee for more than 16 years. Enough said. Go here to get your caffeine fix. (There is a drive through Starbucks at the intersection of I-70 and 10 Mile Road if you need to grab something as you’re heading to/from one of the ski resorts. however, if you’re staying in downtown Frisco, Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters is going to be your best caffeine fix. It’s also a great little spot to sit and sip up the town.)
285 Main St. | (970) 668-3470
Bread + Salt Hello, brunch. Bread + Salt is one of the most popular places in town for breakfast and brunch, but its limited seating typically requires one to wait for a table. It’s worth it though. So worth it. Try the Eggy Bread, a unique twist on traditional French Toast, the Frisco Skillet or the Huevos Rancheros. If you’re trying to jump on the bus to hit the slopes, call your order in ahead of time and get it to go. I’d suggest one of the egg sandwich options as the others will be difficult to eat on the go.
