Longest-held U.S. political prisoner Leonard Peltier is hospitalized
As of October 28, the longest-held political prisoner in the United States, Leonard Peltier, has been hospitalized. Peltier, who recently turned 80 behind bars, has dealt with various health concerns due to his long confinement, which include diabetes, high blood pressure, and surviving COVID-19. Peltier’s supporters are calling for him to receive an emergency medical transfer out of prison to a medical facility.

There’s no pride in Genocide. In a country with a record number of mass shootings it is time that we ask ourselves where this behavior or this energy originates and it’s impossible to not look at the fact that this country was birthed through violence and erasure of its native people. This is something that we must fight every single day for as long as we are here because the colonizers will never stop unless the people say “No Thanks No Giving” At the end of the day we truly are one Nation. Once we know the true story of this land we can reconnect and start taking care of it. The native people are the best stewards of this land and the land needs to go back to them. Mama Gaia is screaming and filled with unnecessary bloodshed and that can end with every single one of us standing up to fight for her. Without her we are NOTHING. Next year this march better double, no it better triple in size. Don’t be scared to speak against the oppressors because spirit has always been by your side and will continue to be by your side through every hardship. The biggest hardship would be for us to stay Quiet and allow the colonizers to destroy our land and then move on to destroy other lands. Let’s show them how powerless they are without us the people. The power has always been in community and the spirit of our ancestors reside within the Mountains, the waters, the sky and of course within us and that’s how we remain eternal🙏🏾 #noprideingenocide #landback #nothanksnogiving #2slgbtqiaplus #thereddeal #plymouthrock #plymouthrockwhatacrock #2spirit #taino #puertorico #nationaldayofmourning #freepeltier (at Plymouth Rock) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClY_O9jJP0M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

On Prison, Torture, and Stanford
The topic of this post is the terrible conditions of prisoners in the US and many other countries, and torture as a whole. If you can’t/don’t want to deal with this right now, you should stop reading here.
With the recent stories on torture in US prisons, the Stanford Prison experiment is getting a bit more attention again. And that’s not wrong: of course the results also apply inside actual prisons. The incredible power gradient between the guards, who have all their liberties and, as we just realized, an incredible amount of leniency on their side, and the prisoners, who have their liberties stripped away and must follow the instructions of the guards.
There is however an aspect of the experiment which is getting very little attention. The Stanford Experiment was conducted on students, not actual prison guards, and there was a rather thorough vetting mechanism put in place based on information available on these students. Stanford is a rather elite place, so the quality of the information on these students was probably very high.
Prison guards, like police officers, school teachers and other people in power positions, are a different story. These positions attract people – not exclusively, but just as well – who are in it for the power. A significant portion of prison wards chose the job because the perspectives are strangely appealing to them, whether they realize it or not. Not necessarily for the best reasons.
This means that prisons have a good potential of being disproportionately worse than the Stanford Prison Experiment. And given how horrible that went, this should be a very uncomfortable thought.

Seeing so many in #solidarity is hope. Proof we are not alone in the fight. So many taking a stand makes you believe! However the march is not the goal, it's the start line. #peace #justice #equality #love #freedom #sustainability #prosperity for all is the goal! How deep is your resolve?! If it's only as deep as your placard than it's only paper thin, if you're only willing to walk the distance of the march then we haven't got anywhere yet. The march is the start, the celebration of the journey forward. We've been fighting the same beast all along. This has to be us now saying now we're ready to take action to change things, we're not going to be complacent anymore. We're ready to turn it up! Today there are people in #StandingRock defending our planet #NDAPL Today there are bombs ready to kill #peaceinthemiddleeast #peaceinafrica #peaceinasia #peaceineurope #peaceintheamericas #peaceintheworld #worldpeace. Today kids and people will be considered less than and exploited. There are political prisoners here on Turtle Island #freepeltier Today in your city kids live in poverty. This needs to stop before we let up even a little! From #Jesus to Joan of Arc to #Gandhi to #MLK to #Paris to #Woodstock to #Mandela to #Tiananmen Square to Standing Rock to #Selma to #Snowden to #PussyRiot to #PE to #Rage Against the Machine.... We must continue to fight the system which has been so unfair, horrific and deadly to so many. Today and everyday is the start of the fight as long as there is injustice. Our planet and the life within it needs to be a priority. Love and prosperity before property rights. Care before greed and colonialism. People before profits. Nature before business. No bomb has ever helped anyone, no bullet has ever fed anyone. We must strengthen our resolve. It's the cop who needs to see the humanity in people. It's the youth who needs to see that standing behind a gun is not the path to power, freedom or prosperity, but standing behind education and tolerance is.#solidarity #unity #fightthepower #🌎#☮️ #keeponmarching #womansmarch #marchon #❤️

Dennis Banks died.
Anna Mae is waiting for Clyde now & Arlo who shot her.
That's almost all of them gone now.
Every time I see #freepeltier I think about the gun he put in her mouth.
Justice for Anna Mae.
No more stolen sisters.

By Leonard Peltier
I have fought for my freedom every single day of these past 48 years.
You, my people, my supporters, my family in a very real way, lift my spirit and enable me to hold fast to the beliefs they want me to denounce. You get me through these hours that last for days or years.
Keep fighting. Fight the parasitical influence of colonialism. Fight the lies, the greed, the corruption of the oppressor. Fight for the survival of our people.

Happy 74th birthday to Leonard Peltier. He’s been in prison for more than half his life. Nelson Mandela called him a fellow political prisoner. He called for his release along with Amnesty International, Pope Francis himself, & many others.
