Even though you missed the jingling of Amanda’s keys in the hallway you knew she was a few steps from the front door at the way Frannie’s head popped up, looking over the back of the couch at the incoming noise. After a couple of sniffs she seemed satisfied, plopping her head back down beside you, continuing to chew on her bone. You gave her a little scratch behind the ears and let out a breath, your pulse quickening at the sound of Amanda’s keys in the lock.
She opened the door to find you on the couch, television turned on to Bluey as you were (presumably) cooing to Frannie.
“Oh, that’s it.” You laughed softly, “such a good girl. Okay, ohhkkay, ssssh.” Your hand reached out to pet her as she let out a low whine. “I know, I know. She’s home now, okay.”
“Awee.” Amanda let out a chuckle, “did someone miss me?” She whistled quietly, “c’mere girl.”
Frannie popped up on the opposite end of the couch from where you were facing, quickly jumping down and trotting over to her mom to say hello. At first, distracted, Amanda didn’t notice, cooing at her dog as she gave her a very welcoming pet and big scratch. Her ears picked up another whine that definitely wasn’t human and her head titled back up to catch you with a sheepish look on your face.
“So… if Frannie is over here…”
“That was… my stomach?” You offered with a wince and Amanda let out a small scoff of a laugh. She straightened up, letting out a small sigh as whatever you were hiding on the other side of the couch let out a yip.
“Sounds like you haven’t eaten all day.” Her hands fell to her hips, “what’d you do?”
“I… did not do anything.” You made a little kissing noise and the other dog finally popped up into Amanda’s sight line over the back of the couch. It looked like a chocolate lab, big enough to look like a fully grown dog but small enough Amanda knew it was likely still just a big puppy. You cupped its head in your hands, making more kissing noises as it sniffed at your face as your voice slipped into puppy dog mode. “But some big meanie left this gorgeous angel in the alley way.” You turned to look at her, “I told you I heard something crying last night. Bastard left her outside in the storm all night tied to the damn dumpster. I saw her when I went out this morning.”
“Are you absolutely sure someone wasn’t coming back for her?” Amanda asked, slowly approaching the back of the couch as you went back to playing with the dog.
“Yes.” You nodded, nodding the dog’s head in your hands as you did so, “yes, I am.” You looked back to your girlfriend, “I went back down with some food and water right away, she was super friendly and just wanted some love. I left her all afternoon just in case, it was already getting dark and the poor thing starting crying again. Frannie and I just couldn’t bare listening to it anymore.” Your lips formed a pout and Amanda could almost see the glistening of tears starting in your eyes, “when I went back down she was just so happy to see us! Instant friends with this one, I tell ya.” Your hand reached out to give Frannie a little scratch. “Then I found the note on her collar…”
“Someone really just left her?” It was her turn to pout, finally reaching out, letting the dog sniff the back of her hand, giving it a few licks before she scratched her behind the ears.
“Yeah. Note said she was a Christmas present for the kids, but the kids weren’t ‘doing their chores’ of taking care of her and the family didn’t want her anymore.” You said the last part in just over a whisper as you covered the dogs ears, “she’s house trained, no issues and is up to date on all her shots and stuff. Though I did make an appointment with the vet for tomorrow just in case.”
“Baby…” Amanda’s head tilted and you let out a sigh at what you knew must be coming. “We can’t keep her.”
“Why not?!” You whined and Amanda nearly laughed as both the new dog and Frannie let out whines in practically the same pitch as all three of you stared up at her.
“We… already have Frannie.” She gestured, “and I work late hours. I feel guilty enough leaving one dog cooped up in a one bedroom apartment all day.”
“I work from home like, eighty percent of the time, you wouldn’t have to worry about us. Besides, another big dog means another level of protection.” You countered, “you always say you wish I was safer out at night, or when you’re working overnights. Can’t get much safer than this.” You gestured to your lap which was slowly being taken over by both dogs, Frannie nuzzling at ear while the other one licked your cheek.
“She does really seem to like you.” The blonde replied, chewing on her lip.
“They get along perfectly too!” You bartered, gesturing to the dogs as you picked up a toy, swinging it between them before tossing it down the hall and they both ran off, instantly starting to play with each other like they’d grown up together. “See? Instant best friends. You can’t deny Frannie that.”
“Oh my god.” Amanda laughed, running a hand over her face. “What happens when you’re out for a walk and the kids see their dog and come crying wanting it back?”
“Note said they live in Staten Island, left her here so that wouldn’t happen.”
“They seriously drove all that way to dump her in the garbage? When there’s plenty of shelters all around the city?” She wasn’t just frustrated, she was pissed now, a feeling the dog could sense as it jogged down the hallway and went right up to Amanda, nudging at her legs until it was getting pets, “oh you poor thing.”
You knew it, a smile creeping up on your lips as Amanda crouched down to actually greet the dog and her face instantly melted. The look of love and adoration immediately taking over her eyes as she cooed at the dog who nuzzled as deep into her as it could.
“Oh, you’re a good girl.” She cooed, “such a sweet girl. What’s your name, hmm?”
“Cocoa.” You replied, and the dog let out a quiet bark.
Amanda stood back up with a small sigh, glancing between the two dogs who immediately started playing together again before looking over at you.
“Puh-leeeeaaase.” You pulled an overdramatic pout and faked crying.
“You are worse than a child, you know that?”
“At least I have my own source of income to support Cocoa and now we’ll each have one to walk when we take them out. I mean, Manda… look at them. They’re so happy, she’s so much happier not being tied to a dumpster in the rain… you’re not going to ruin that, are you?”
“Wow.” She laughed, rounding around the couch to drop down beside you.
“Well?” You batted your eyelashes, “yes?”
“Fine.” She finally agreed with a small smile and you let out a shriek, launching toward her to pepper her face with kisses.
The noise alone was enough to pull both of the dog’s attention, barks echoing through the apartment as they jumped back up onto the couch, jumping on the both of you, cold noses and wet kisses getting everywhere they could.
“Okay, okay.” Amanda laughed, gently pushing Frannie down onto her lap, “you win, you win.” She booped her nose, “you got a new sister, happy?” Frannie agreed with a small woof, rubbing her head into Amanda’s hands.
“You hear that?” You cooed to Cocoa, scratching underneath her chin, “you get to stay! Welcome home Cocoa.”
You looked back to Amanda with such love and happiness in your eyes that she knew there was never a way in a million years she would have actually said no to the whole thing. She loved you too much, loved seeing you happy too much and this way Frannie would have someone to play with when no one was home.
It was a win win for everyone.

The curtains were drawn wide, welcoming a cycle of getting rid of the stuffy air inside and inviting the fresh warmth from outside. With a rush of the April wind through the patio door, heat curled beneath the sheets and lingered.
The swelter made perspire run up your skin, seeping through your clothes and you kicked off the covers with a quiet grunt, frustration pursing your lips at another restless night. You shallowed your breath, careful not to rouse Amanda because your face was pressed in the crook of her neck, and being a detective, her guard was always up and running, volatile to even Frannie's snore that was boisterous within the silent house.
In the darkness, your feet figured out the edge of the bed. It became a mission now to leave without being caught. You lifted the pressure of your chin on her shoulder ever so slightly so that the lack of weight would be adaptable, your breath latched in your throat so that it wouldn't blow her hair to tickle her face.
The bed creaked at the shift and your heart leapt to your throat, eyes darting instantly to her features but no, there was not a frown pulling on her brow and so you resumed. As you finally hauled your head off her pillow, smiling to yourself about your achievement, your hair drooped and brushed past her cheek, too quick for you to notice because you were already playing the balancing game with your limbs, thinking you were out of her radar.
But you were not. You completely overlooked the moment her eyes peeked open in alarm, too focused on your foot not kicking over the bedside lamp or the alarm clock or the bedside table itself that your neck was straining over your right shoulder, as if you were trying to avoid a landmine.
She could've laughed as she watched the heel of your foot slam into the bedside table, you holding back an expressive grimace at the noise and the pain, but she chose to keep quiet as you continued backpedalling after casting a furtive glance at her.
She had her eyes on you the whole time as you slid off the bed in a tremendously ungraceful manner, legs off the ledge smoothly until you must've scraped your shin on the bedframe when you leapt backwards off the bed and literally banged into the wall behind from the pain. A laugh almost escaped her until she reminded herself of her role.
But what fun would it be if she didn't scare you a little? So she shuffled rather dramatically, hugging the sheets and saw as you stiffened, wide eyed against the wall. She gave herself a full view of the room, wanting to catch you in the act the moment you open the door.
She didn't expect you to watch her for another beat, even after the fright wore off from your features, shoulders rolling down. You were encased in a dim glow from the patio door, and your irises glittered as your lips hooked up into a slight smile only at the sight of her. She felt weak inside all a sudden, her own smile threatening to surface.
When you finally dragged your gaze off of her, she was a breadth away from grinning at all your affection, heart bursting with joy. She was up before your hand could even brush the doorknob.
"Where are ya runnin' off to?" Her laugh bubbled over as you yelped, whirling over in her direction.
Once the fret washed over, you blew out a exasperated breath. "Was about'a take Frannie out for a walk cos I couldn't sleep."
"You couldn't just wake me?" She said, amusement apparent in her voice even though it was ladened with sleep.
"No of course not, you work twenty four seven already, I'm sorry I woke you." You ambled over to her side of the bed, your lips meeting her temple. "Yeah kickin' the bedside table? You weren't exactly discreet."
You rolled your eyes at her words, turning back to the door. "Go back to bed 'Manda, you need it."
"And leave you alone in those clothes? Not a chance." She leapt from the bed and in a few quick steps, her lips pecked yours before she swung the door open. And in another step almost tripped over Frannie who was stationed by the door, her leash and collar hanging on her lower jaw. She barked, tail wagging at Amanda before she looked at you.
"Yeah Fran, I'm joining this time." And that was cue for you to leash it up before it went prancing up to the doorstep.
"How many times have you gone out like this?" Amanda eyed you, unsure herself if she wanted to know the answer.
"As much as you have in mind." You said with a laugh and all she could do was shake her head, smiling all the way out the front door.

There's no one else that knows Amanda Rollins like Kelli does and she's so devoted to her and really loves her, I love this.
this article is good and the way she talks about her relationship with Carisi and Liv my god! and how Rollins life kind of mirrors her own life in some ways, I'm so glad they're both happy.
also excuse me but Kelli talking about Frannie made me cry a lil bit 😭
-Giddish reflected on another reminder of the passage of her time on SVU — her constant companion, her dog Frannie.
“She was a puppy when I first brought her to set and now she’s 14. She doesn’t hear well now, but she’s still doing great. We call her ‘Nanny Frannie’ at my house.”
Tumblr media
sweet Frannie is 14, I thought she was around that age my god, and she doesn't hear well but, I'm so happy she's ok other than that and that Kelli talked about her, thank you! (she heard us that we were a bit worried and wanted to know how she was lol!) she's an old sweet lady now 🥹
anyway all this made me miss her even more and made me need her back permanently even more.

Sick - Nick Amaro
I stood closely behind Nick as he interrogated the suspect. He wanted me to stay behind him, just in case he tries to attack us. He was a step up from the shitty partner I had in Atlanta, and I loved it, Amanda always teased me claiming I had a 'crush' on him. But that's just what twins do to each other, we're not identical appearance-wise, but personality-wise we're practically the same.
"You know we found your DNA on the victim right?" Nick dropped his voice to seem threatening.
    "I didn't rape her. I promise."
"Then why did we find your semen in her!?" I yelled.
"I don't know!" I suddenly felt nauseous. I'm assuming I went pale because Nick turned to me, concerned.
"Y/N?" Nick slowly approached me, but I scooted to a corner to throw up the lunch that cost me $20. "Yikes, you good?"
"I don't know." I gasped. He led me out of the room. Amanda and Carisi took our place.
He handed me the trash can that was next to his desk. "Maybe you should go home, you are clearly under the weather."
"No-" I threw up again. "I'm fine."
"Girl, if you don't go home I am personally going to sedate you and drop you off in the middle of nowhere." Fin cut in.
"Jesus Fin," I mumbled, head still in the trashcan.
"Take the rest of the day off Rollins," Liv gave me a concerned look.
"Which one?" She did not like that joke, I groaned and grabbed the keys to Amanda's car, we carpooled today, something we usually don't do. "Tell Mandy I'm taking the car."
"You are not driving when you can't keep your food in your stomach." Nick protested grabbing the keys from me.
"Wha-hey!" I yelled trying to get them back, I guess I moved too fast because I retreated back to my chair and threw up once again.
"Amanda will be taking you home," Liv said. "You both can go, just stop puking in my squad room." I let out a long groan and let Amanda drag me by the arm. Once we got to our apartments she opened my door and led me to the couch.
"I told you the eggs were bad." she chuckled, I groaned and threw a pillow at her. Our apartments were conjointed so she unlocked the middle door and Franny ran in jumping onto me.
"Hey, girl! Oh, I missed you! Hi, baby." I hugged her and rubbed her fur. Eventually, I went to the kitchen and grabbed a Gatorade from the fridge, hoping to get rid of the nausea. When I just felt sicker I stared at the open fridge "Screw it." I grabbed a bottle of wine, not even bothering to pour it into a cup before drinking some, and falling to the couch.
-------------------------
    "Hey Y/N."
"Hey, Mandy." She dropped a bag onto my counter. "What's that?"
"I went shopping, Nick is coming in with some bags too. He wanted to check on you." She smirked at me before leaving for her apartment, Franny following close behind. Nick walked in soon after, carrying two more bags.
"You know you shouldn't drink wine when you're sick." I flipped him off and he smiled. "Amanda said you liked (Flavor) ice cream and (Favorite Candy), so we got some of that. And this. He pulled out a huge stuffed animal.
    "What is that?"
"A get well soon teddy bear." I covered my mouth and chuckled. "What?"
"Nicky, it's just food poisoning." He pushed the stuffed animal towards me anyway.
"Take it, Amanda said you have a stuffie collection." My face got hot and I avoided eye contact.
"What-I-I have no idea-" I ran to the bathroom and puked again.
"Just food poisoning my ass." He stood behind me, pulling my hair into a ponytail. Once I was done he led me to my bedroom and pushed all my stuffed animals off to the side. I laid down and he tucked me in, setting some water on the nightstand. He went to walk off but I grabbed his hand.
    "No, stay. Please,"
"Y/N, there are stuffed animals everywhere, there's nowhere for me to go." I kicked them all off my bed and pat the empty space. He gave me a look and laid next to me.
"You smell expensive," He chuckled and pulled me close to his body, he was warm, and his breathing was calming. "Nick?"
    "Yeah Y/N?"
"Why do you care so much?"
    "Excuse me?"
    "You heard me."
"Well, there's a lot of reasons."
    "Go on."
"After hearing about how shitty your old partner was I guess I wanted to make sure you have a good experience at SVU, but somewhere in there..... I fell in love."
"With who?" I felt nauseous again and bolted to the bathroom. "Ah, shit!" I yelled when I stubbed my toe.
"I fell in love with you. Look at you, you're gorgeous, I'm glad you and Amanda aren't identical, one is enough." I couldn't hold my laugh in and ended up rolling on the bathroom floor.
"I love you too Nick," I said once I stopped laughing, he leaned in for a kiss but I stopped him. "Nah-uh. Still sick."

Sunburns and squabbles
chapter 1
AO3
summery: How Olivia Benson, Elliot Stabler, Amanda Rollins, Dominick Carisi, and Grace Muncy all ended up on a family vacation together would never be known.
Actually, it would. It was quite simple really: Elizabeth Stabler forgot to mention the name of her girlfriend.
Or: The story of a vacation with way too many people, with way too many things going on, and oh great now we have to make an ER visit.
not centered around a specific pairing rather several pairings and friendships
words: 2531
warnings: None for this chapter, correct me if I'm wrong
How Olivia Benson, Elliot stabler, Amanda Rollins, Dominick Carisi, and Grace Muncy all ended up on a family vacation together would never be known.
Actually, it would. It was quite simple really: Elizabeth Stabler forgot to mention the name of her girlfriend.
……………………….
The trip had been in the planning stage for quite a while, trying to get everyone time off and details set in stone was more of a task than expected, but eventually everyone had managed to pull themselves together for a good old fashion family vacation.
Among the guest were the original stablers: Elliot, Maureen, her husband, and their two kids, Kathleen, Richard- or Dickie, and Elizabeth with her girlfriend who only her siblings had met, and of course Eli.
Then there were the Benson-stablers: Olivia and Noah.
And then tagging along was the Rollins-Carisi crew: Sonny, Amanda, Jesse, and Billie, there was a bit of debate about whether or not Frannie was coming along, but ultimately Frannie was sent to live with a more than reluctant Fin for a while.
Olivia and Amanda had brought up going on vacation together more than once, it just never seemed to work out, and when it finally did work out, ten more people were added to the mix, not that either of them really minded.
Okay, Amanda minded a little, not because she didn’t want everyone there, but because she was going to be in close proximity with Elliot Stabler, and while she was incredibly happy that Olivia has found someone who makes her happy, Amanda did not exactly like Elliot. She had nothing real against him, he just rubbed her the wrong way- and the whole abandoning Olivia thing didn’t help- but Amanda supposed she could put up with him so long as he didn’t do anything stupid.
Looking back on it, Olivia really should have known- she was the one who signed off on Muncy’s time off for god’s sake, she really couldn’t put two and two together.
……………………….
“Tell me why we aren’t just flying again” Elliot said popping his head out of the closet.
“Elliot it was your decision, you said it would be cheaper to drive and a good quote ‘bonding experience’” Olivia pointed out.
“Well why didn’t you stop me”
“I tried El, I tried, but you weren’t having it, now were going to be driving for quite literally 2 days before the trip even starts” Olivia rolled her eyes “It should also be noted that it was your idea to rent an entire minibus so we can all ride together” Olivia said.
“Hey, now that was a good idea, no trying to keep up with each other, plus the bus has WIFI and charging stations, not to mention a bathroom which means we will be stopping less” Elliot defended himself.
“Sure”
……………………….
“Jesse Honey come on, you have to get up” Amanda said softly shaking her daughter, it had been a rough night in the Rollins-Carisi house, Jesse had been having a tough time all around. She wasn’t acting up, but she never wanted to go to school, half the time she ended up in Sonny and Amanda’s bed in the middle of the night and she never seemed to want to be in a room without at least one of her parents. Amanda had talked to her about it, but the 8-year-old didn’t really have a good explanation, but Amanda would keep trying until she figured out whatever was going on.
The previous night had been a long one to say the least, not really by anyone’s fault, but Jesse had refused going to sleep, even when Amanda laid in the bed with her, she had had a bit of a breakdown. Amanda and Sonny had established a solid bedtime routine which Jesse could do mostly independently, but when it came time for her to actually go to sleep, she clung first to Sonny and then to Amanda.
Amanda was never one for just sticking a kid in their own bedroom and saying deal with it, this was not Jesse being defiant, this was Jesse being anxious, and forcing her to sleep in her own bed on the verge of a very real panic attack was not the solution.
They had gotten Jesse to sleep with the promise that one of them would be with her at all times, but she had woken up several times during the night, which thank the heavens Billie never woke up to since they moved and the girls had their own rooms, but it made for several very tired individuals, and Amanda hated the fact she had to wake Jesse up so they could leave, with any luck she would sleep on the bus.
Jesse rolled over and groaned, now that she actually needed to be awake it seemed as if all her body could do was sleep.
“I know, I'm sorry, I’ve let you sleep as long as I can, we got to get up and get ready to go, but maybe you can sleep once were on the road” Amanda said, hoping to entice her oldest out of bed “And Aunt Livia said there will be breakfast”
Jesse rubbed at her eyes before opening them to meet her mothers, “Don’t wanna”
“You don’t wanna get up, or you don’t want to go on vacation?” Jesse hadn’t said anything about not wanted to go, but then again, she hadn’t talked about going much either.
“Don’t wanna get up” Jesse clarified, snuggling her face into the blanket Fin had given her so many years ago.
“I know you don’t, I know it was a bit of a long night huh” Amanda brushed back some of Jesse’s hair “We just need to get you up, I can braid your hair and we need to brush your teeth and pack the last-minute things”
Jesse still didn’t want to, but pulled herself out of bed.
……………………….
With a momentous amount of effort everyone managed to make it to the lot where they could all get on the bus to start driving.
Noah was dragging his feet behind his mother and Elliot, looking like he has rolled out of bed about 30 seconds ago, Eli not far behind him looking about the same. Olivia and Elliot were babbling away about God knows what, probably about how there were only 3 people licensed to drive the bus.
Kathleen rode with Maureen and her family, and she seemed to be about the only one awake in the whole group, except of course for Maureen’s boys who were running in circles around the parking lot.
Dickie- which he was finally okay with being called again- was standing at the back of the bus with Maureen’s husband playing what resembled a game of Tetris but with ungodly amounts of suitcases and duffle bags.
Billie was holding onto Sonny’s hands and being swung around, which in truth made Amanda a little nervous on the hard pavement, but she wasn’t going to stop them, not with the giggles it was producing from the 5-year-old. Jesse was standing against her mother’s side gripping her hand, she knew some of the people around her, but not all of them, but when she saw Olivia, she ripped herself away from her mother to run towards her.
Olivia caught the girl in a hug “Hey sweet girl” she ran her hand over the back of Jesse’s head from where Jesse’s face was against her stomach. “You doing, okay?” she said as Jesse released her.
Jesse nodded “Hi Elliot”
Elliot was a little surprised this being the first time Jesse had greeted him directing without prompting. “Well, hello miss Jesse, can I just say that I think your hair looks pretty awesome”
That got a smile out of Jesse once hand going up to touch one of her braided space buns “Thank you, momma did it”
“Well, your momma did a great job” Elliot said with a smile, this honestly being the longest interaction with Jesse other than the time he was helping her get food at a dinner.
“I like to tell Elliot that his hair looks good” Olivia said with a smirk.
“But Elliot’s bald” Jesse said with a laugh.
……………………….
Lizzie was the last to arrive, but no one minded since she was also responsible for bringing breakfast for everyone, so she got a pass.
“I need some help here, I only have so many hands Elizabeth” came a frustrated, but not actually frustrated voice from the other side of the car where no one could see.
Olivia looked behind her from where she was talking to Amanda, she knew that voice, but there was no way. Amanda had also noticed but she was a little more unsure as to who it was.
Only a few moments later Lizzie stabler walked out from behind the car holding several boxes and bags, followed by a Grace Muncy who was quite precariously balancing drink holders up and down her arms.
Amanda and Olivia looked at each other then back at Muncy who had yet to notice the presence of her captain and former colleague, passing some of the drinks over to Kathleen who had come over to stop her from spilling the drinks all over the parking lot.
With a more reasonable load to handle Muncy was able to look up and at all the people spread across the parking lot, she quite quickly noticed Olivia and Amanda, and who she assumed was Carisi on the other side- he was running in circles it was hard to tell.
“You knew didn’t you” Grace looked towards her girlfriend who had a little guilty smirk.
“I didn’t want to scare you away, if it makes you feel better Olivia didn’t know either” Lizzie defended herself with a smile.
Grace rolled her eyes “I don’t even like you”
They made their way over to the group, Muncy just giving a nod to Amanda and Olivia, not sure what the protocol was for when you find out you're going on vacation with your boss. “Alright, the drinks have sticky notes with names on them, if you got the wrong drink wait until they’re distributed before we figure out who’s is whose” she said and began passing out drinks.
“This one is for Billie” Grace said handing it to Sonny rather than the 5-year-old. “And this one is for Oli- the captain” Muncy was just reading off names but stopped herself before calling her boss by her first name.
Olivia held back a smile, it seemed as though Muncy was a whole lot more flustered over the whole situation than she was, she took her drink trying and failing to make eye contact with a very focused Muncy.
Lizzie had been setting down the food inside the bus and hopped out walking over to Olivia instead of her helpless girlfriend. “If I'm being honest, I thought it would probably scare her away, it should also be mentioned that she’s never met dad”
Olivia was going to respond but Amanda beside her started chuckling. “She hasn’t met your family and you stick her on a vacation with her boss and Elliot Stabler, now that’s just cruel”
“Hey all my siblings have met her” Lizzie defended herself. “She’ll be fine”
Olivia couldn’t help rolling her eyes with a bit of a smile. “Once she actually makes eye contact with someone” she really did mind the whole situation, sure it was definitely a shock and it threw her off, but all in all it wasn’t a big deal- nothing was going to put a damper on her vacation.
All the drinks had been distributed and Grace saw that she really didn’t have a choice other than to go stand over by her girlfriend. “Captain, Detective Rollins” Muncy greeted with a smile, even if it was a little forced.
“Not a Detective anymore, you can call me Amanda” Amanda said trying to coax a hiding Jesse out from behind her to meet a new person.
Olivia considered messing with Muncy a little, but decided she would be nice just this once “And you can call me Olivia or Liv since we’re not at work”
Muncy nodded- she would still be using captain. She spotted Jesse from behind Amanda, when she had called out her name for her drink Amanda had come up and grabbed it handing it to the girl, so she hadn’t really seen her. “And who is this?”
Amanda tried to pull Jesse out from behind her, failing at first but getting her to where Grace could at least see her face, even if it was still leaning against Amanda’s side.
Grace could see how nervous Jesse and made sure not to step forward to avoid crowding “Those shoes are really cool; I have some just like them with me” the way to a kid’s heart was compliments.
Jesse looked down at her shoes than back up at Muncy “Like these ones”
“Yep” Muncy was telling the truth, they were in her suitcase at the moment “Well, they’re probably a little bigger”
Jesse looked down at the shoes Muncy was currently in, as if to check and nodded back up at Muncy “I'm Jesse” she said after looking at her mother for permission.
“That’s a very pretty name, I'm grace, and do you know Lizzie” she said indicating her girlfriend who gave a little wave.
Jesse thought for a second before decided that she had not met Lizzie, but thought she knew who she was “You're Elliot’s daughter”
Everyone was a little surprised that Jesse had put that together and remembered it but Lizzie nodded “I am, which means I'm Eli’s sister” Lizzie knew Jesse would know who Eli was.
Jesse nodded and turned to point “That’s Billie my sister with uncle Sonny”
Olivia looked at Amanda who shrugged. There had been some debate over who Sonny was to the girls, well not really, by almost all accounts he was their father, and ever since Amanda and Carisi got married they had been living together.
Billie had taken to calling Sonny dad right away, she had been doing it since they day of the courthouse wedding, but Jesse hadn’t and that was okay they were in no way going to pressure her, if she never called Sonny dad no one would have a problem with it.
Jesse knew who Declan was, and had met him a few times, mostly she knew that she would be getting a nice birthday and Christmas card each year with more spending money than she got from anyone else, and she didn’t seem too torn up about not seeing her biological father. Al was a little more involved in Billie’s everyday life, and saw her a good bit even having her overnight sometimes, but Amanda and Sonny made sure always to give Jesse a bit of extra love whenever that happened.
There was a loud slam at the back of the bus indicating that all the bags had been packed in and Elliot got the attention of the group “This bus leaves in 5 minutes if you're not on it too bad”

Uuugh nothing this week in the episode, come on you can do these 'empty' episodes after she leaves the show, give us something even tiny! We're losing her in 2 episodes and I'm already a mess!!😭
Like, I thought at the end when Liv was leaving at 9pm, Amanda would have gone with her and they could have talked a bit during the ride down in the elevator, just something like 'ehi Rollins going home to the girls?' 'well at this hour hopefully they're already sleeping, unless they convinced Dominick to read another story! He's learning to say no and he's doing great but you can literally see his heart breaking when he says it' 'ah! Poor Carisi I bet they got him wrapped around their little fingers!' 'oooh oh yeah both of them, even Frannie! But he's amazing with them, always been really, I'm a lucky woman' 'told you there were still good guys out there' 'yeah, yeah you did'.
Give us these rolivia moments! I'm gonna miss them like crazy, they're been there together for 11 years! 11 years and 12 seasons!! How am I gonna cope without them?!!!😭 and I need Liv to call her 'georgia peach' one more time please lol
I was hoping for some sort of Rollivia moment this week too!
Or, a one sided phone with the girls - something like “be good for Daddy” (or even Uncle Sonny if that’s still where they’re at…) that Liv overheard, so we could get both

Amused by the way Frannie's sunglasses lowered Sam cutely scrunched his face into a silly smile before he carefully pinched the side of her sunglasses, careful to not smudge the lens, and raise it so it sat on top of Frannie's head. "Don't worry. I'll bring them back down. I just want to see your pretty blue eyes while we talk." Sam's fingers caressed the side of her cheek before lowering his palm to rest against the back of Frannie's neck. "You're the one who feels good. Even with you wearing more clothes than me right now..." he said with a cheeky smirk. There was a time, not too long ago, where she couldn't wait to get him out of his. "I won't lie, I've thought about dropping out of school and living on the beach. I can be a lifeguard or work the bar, even do whatever rentals they've got going on on the beach. But, I won't actually do that, no matter how tempting it is." He sighed, as if he was giving up on a life-long dream. "I think when you die that's game over. I do think our souls live on so I guess souls can dream if they're still rockin' and rollin'" There's just so much unknown when it comes to the afterlife.
"I don't mind the early wake up, babe. Besides, my body craves those endorphins and since we're not sharing a private room might as well get it by running instead fun morning sex with you." Now that would be the perfect way to get the day started. "I'm most definitely a fighter. I do very little thinking when something springs up. Jump right to action and then think later. What about you? I know you're one who likes to plan things out. How would you handle a sea monster attack?" It's such a silly scenario but Sam's taking it seriously. When the conversation veered into the whole roommates thing Sam stilled their walk and moved around to face Frannie. His hands held onto hers as he quietly listened, Sam appreciating her reassurance. "I honestly don't know. It's not like any of us can predict the future like one of those crystal ball ladies. I tell myself we're solid and as long as we keep sharing what's on our minds we'll be good. But you saying your feelings and focus are only on me does help. Just, I'm not saying it will happen. Trust me I don't want it to happen but I also want to be an adult about this because of all the times I've been burned in the past. But if you think old feelings from before resurface. Please talk to me about it." These words are hard to push out but Sam wants to make sure they have the kind of relationship where they keep nothing from each other. That if questions are asked or something comes up they'll talk it out.
He laughed at her reaction and shifted to the side so they can resume their walk. "My foot is fine! Not cut. I haven't been on a beach since I was a kid and forgot how those suckers are everywhere. " His free hand, not the one holding hers, casually thumbed over the shell she gifted him. "You should see our bathroom cabinet back home. There's a basket with a bunch of those little bottles. They're great when the big bottle's empty and you need something in a pinch." His eyes lit up at the fossil hunting idea and Sam turned to look at her. "Okay, so, if they don't got that here then I get it. I imagine whatever they've got has been picked over. How cool would it to go on an actual archaeological dig? You might accidentally unearth some kind of curse in the process but imagine the cool things you dig up." Ever since he saw Indiana Jones Sam's found the whole thing fascinating. "Oh, you texted something earlier about sea turtles. What's that about? Is that place near here?"
The nose boop caused him to scrunch his nose one more and chuckle. She's cute. Damn cute. It's one of the many things he really likes about her. But that kiss? That got a goofy grin to illuminate his features. If they could he'd lay around all day and make out with her. "Nope. I rolled out of bed, brushed my teeth, put on my trunks, and hit the water. Lets get food and go over our plan for the day."
Another chuckle fell from her lips at the feeling of Sam's arms firmly keeping her within his. There was a temptation to playfully tease Sam, yet Frannie was absolutely aware that she adored the feeling of being in his arms. No way was she going to complain. Instead, she lowered her sunglasses covering her eyes down her nose an inch so that she could stare up at him properly. "You look good, by the way. And you feel good." She commented with a teasing smirk. "This beach vibe definitely suits you." Frannie couldn't help her head tilting to the side in thought as she listened, slightly amused, to Sam talking about his sleep. He had a point, after all! "This opens a lot of philosophical questions, here, Sam. Do dead people still have dreams? Do they still even go to sleep?"
"At the moment, my body is still waking up at 5am." Frannie explained with a small shrug. "Although you really don't have to start waking up at that time, I promise!" She added quickly. "We could always say that I swing by your hut at 6.30 and we go from there? That way we can catch the sunrise together. And fight any beach monsters that try to attack us. Are you a fight, flight or freeze kind of person?" As they walked, Frannie couldn't help letting out a contented sigh of happiness, the smile still imprinted firmly upon her lips. It was only the mention of her roommate situation, or reminder of what had happened, that the smile faltered a little. Her head turned to try and guage Sam's reaction, something she had been painfully aware of the night before out of a fear that he would feel uncomfortable about the situation. "Dani and I might talk to try and clear the air, a little. We might not." Her words tried to remain light, almost trying to give off an impression of apathy. But she couldn't hide it for long, and within a few seconds, Frannie then added. "You don't think there's a part of me that's still interested in her, do you? Because there's not. At all. I promise." Giving his hand a small squeeze, she looked across at Sam as they walked. "This was something that happened years ago. And besides, I'm with you. My attention and my feelings and my focus is all on you."
Her eyes widened at Sam's admission of nearly hurting himself on a shell and her rolled her eyes playfully. "Sam!" She gushed in dramatic mortification, her jaw dropping a little. "You're too spec-SHELL to hurt yourself on one of those." It felt nice to be sharing those kind of family traditions with Sam. The last time they had spoken about her family had been...a less than stellar or positive conversation, so it was nice to think about something a little happier. "Those freebies are the best, right?! There's something adorable about toiletries that are so tiny." Looking forward, out towards the beach that they were heading towards, she couldn't help letting the hand that was intertwined with Sam's start to swing, slightly, as they walked. "That sounds perfect. It doesn't have to be a shell, if you don't want to. We can make our own traditions, too." Thinking on the spot, Frannie's eyes darted around, running her tongue along her lower lip in consideration. "I'd say we could go fossil hunting within the rocks, but I'm not really sure if you'd be able to find those kind of rare treasures around here. That would've been amazing, though, right?"
Using her free hand, Frannie reached out and playfully 'booped' Sam's nose gently, before giving another sweet, short kiss against his lips. "I haven't eaten yet." She answered. "Have you?"

seeing Beau with Oldie in a Giants jersey, he so cute and so big already and so blond wow 😃, he's walking already oh my. Made me think of little Nicky Rollins-Carisi who is probably walking already too, wreaking havoc in that little apartment lol, poor old Frannie😂, the Rollins-Carisi could totally be a Falcons-Giants household too tho lol.
Hopefully we'll have some family scenes too this season since the chances are improving now that's she's gonna be in multiple episodes, and they said Carisi will have some scenes with the kids flying solo too.
Not that I'm watching the whole season lol, the writing and that 'new' squad of strangers looks as interesting as watching paint dry, no thanks, I'm only gonna watch the episodes with Kelli and the kids scenes to fill my Rollins and rollisi heart. I was planning on not watching at all actually, like I did for season 25 (except the 2 Kelli episodes), then she comes back as a sergeant now and had to drag me back in, the things I do for her.
I don't know much about sports outside of college basketball; but I feel like I can say with confidence that Amanda is probably a Braves fan, Falcons fan and a UGA fan - but I could probably see them "fighting" over what team the kids are gonna root for and like laying out two different jerseys and having Nicky pick one.
I haven't watched a full episode since the s24 finale and even then I only watched like 11 episodes that season. Tried to and I just can't do it without Amanda. I've just watched her scenes in the 25 premiere and didn't do much beyond that - I've just seen pictures/gifs from the second time she came back last season.
I used to tell myself that as long as Olivia was still there, I'd still watch it; but like....I can't. Which sucks because I don't really have memories of a time without this show because of how much it's been in my life; but the writing... just ain't it.
Obviously I love Carisi and the kids, I actually like Velasco, Bruno has the potentially to be a character I'd like if the writing was better (and Amanda was still there) but something is clearly missing in the squad (Amanda). That found family aspect that slowly started after season 13 is gone and I just can't be bothered to keep watching.
They've all gone from being friends/hanging out after work to randomly being strictly coworkers again.... and it's odd. Aside from that one random scene between Carisi and Liv that I saw where he was trying to channel Amanda and give her advice they haven't even really tried to remember that they're friends on top of being coworker.

A Misunderstanding
Tumblr media
Amanda Rollins x reader no real warnings, just some jealousy and Amanda over thinking.
Amanda had heart eyes for you from the moment you popped up in the squad room, you were an expert in your field, consulting with the squad and she could barely tear her gaze away from you while you explained your thoughts on the case. You were like her own personal ray of sunshine in an otherwise very dull and dark world of heinous crimes, the sparkle behind your eyes, the slight upcurve of your lips whenever you got the nod of approval from someone, it was enough to make her completely forget about where she was. She was absolutely captivated by you, butterflies in her stomach, her heart rate picking up every time you walked into the room, she found herself suggesting to reach out to you on more cases as time went on.
She simply couldn’t resist you.
First you only came when called, when they needed your expertise on a case or when they knew you’d get through to a witness or victim better than any of them. You’d come in a little rushed, pulled from whatever else was going on in your day, quickly scanning through documents and the case board while the squad got you up to speed. Amanda was amazed at just how quickly you could absorb the information, letting it settle in your brain before flashing Olivia a glittering smile and asking her where you were needed.
Then one day you lingered in Olivia’s office, the door shut behind you as the two of you chatted, laughing together, bright smiles on your faces and Amanda couldn’t help the heavy feeling in her gut. While you were friendly with the whole squad, you were friendlier with Olivia, more comfortable around her, your guard was down and when you went to leave that day it almost looked like the two of you were about to hug.
The next week you popped by unannounced. It was a quiet day in the squad room, paperwork, catching up on files and otherwise dicking around to kill time. It was clear you hadn’t come from work, you were much more casual, a cute pair of jean shorts and a loose tee hanging from your frame as you walked into the room, bright smile on your face. Amanda caught your eye first and she could have sworn your smile got brighter when she did,
“Brought your fave.” You greeted, dropping a coffee mug onto her desk with a wink, she barely got a thank you out before you were dropping a box of baked goods onto Fin’s desk, “and don’t worry, I didn’t forget about the rest of you, or that Fin gets first dibs.”
You flashed them a wicked smile before you disappeared into Olivia’s office, the door half shut behind you. Amanda watched for a moment as this time, you did greet each other with a hug before you settled across the desk from her, pulling take out boxes from the bag you’d come in with. She scowled at first, wondering what it was about Olivia that was so enticing, what the older woman had that she didn’t. Then she frowned over the obvious age gap, wondering how Olivia made peace with the fact that you were so much younger than her, even if this was just in the flirtation stage she never pegged Liv for the type. The moment the coffee hit her tongue though, all was forgotten. You not only had gotten her exact favourite flavour, you’d picked it up from her personal favourite, mom and pop owned coffee shop, the place that made it a million times better than any chain ever could.
The next time she saw you was when you were called in for a consult, it was clear you were a little under the weather, your voice hoarse when you spoke, the bags under your eyes making it obvious you hadn’t been getting enough sleep, a thick sweater wrapped around your body while you worked. She wanted to take you home, tuck you into the couch with the fuzziest blanket and let you nap, getting the best snuggles from Frannie while she made chicken noodle soup for you to feel better. Instead after you finished talking with a victim, Olivia was passing off a steaming mug of tea, urging that it was completely okay for you to take off early, you needed the rest and she wanted to make sure you got better fast. While she watched it was more than apparent that the two of you were comfortable around each other, that you’d spent time together outside of work. There were glances, a shoulder squeeze, small smiles that you communicated through rather than words and it made her see green. She still wasn’t sure if it went both ways, there was something in the way you looked at Olivia, like she was your guiding light, your guardian angel, someone you respected and cared about, yet there was something in the air that made Amanda feel like you were a little lovestruck puppy. Occasionally she’d catch Liv brushing you off, or shutting down a theory of yours on a case and even though it was only a flash of a moment, a look of dejection would cross your face. It made her wonder, digging herself deeper into this hole in her brain, deeper into her infatuation with you, that if Olivia didn’t want you, she was ready and willing and right in front of you. That she would treat you a million times better than the brunette could even dream of.
A few weeks later, she’d been having a rough go, needing some time alone to decompress from the week, have a couple of drinks and divulge into some deep fried food to distract her. Olivia had offered to pick up Jesse from daycare, she was long overdue a playdate with Noah anyways and Amanda was grateful as ever to the other woman, not having to call the nanny at the last minute. Feeling refreshed and destressed she swung by Olivia’s apartment, knocking gently on the door in case either of the kids had happened to fall asleep early. As soon as the door swung open the smile fell from her face, her brows furrowing at the sight of you inside Olivia’s apartment.
“Detective Rollins,” You greeted, a small smile on your cheeks, a little out of breath, “oh my gosh this makes so much sense, I should’ve realized you were Jesse’s mom.”
“What… are you doing here?” She asked, realizing a little too late that she was potentially pushing the boundaries of being offensive, glancing around the apartment behind you.
“Oh, I swung by to see Liv, drop off a couple of things, Noah suckered me into staying for a few rounds of snakes and ladders.” You shrugged, stepping back to let her into the apartment.
“Didn’t realize you’d met Noah.” She muttered half under her breath, letting the door swing shut behind her, “where is Liv?”
“She had to run out, something about work.” You let out a huff of a laugh, brushing your hair off your face, “I hope it’s okay she left the kids with me.” You nearly winced, watching the way she glanced through the apartment, “I watch Noah pretty regularly when the nanny’s not available or it’s super last minute. I live around the corner so it’s easier for her to call me in the middle of the night when a case breaks.” She followed you down the hallway to the living room, “we played some games, did a bunch of reading, put together some puzzles and had dinner.” You turned back to her with a small smile, “grilled cheese, tomato soup and extra veggies on the side. Jesse’s a real broccoli fiend.” You giggled and Amanda felt her heart swell at the sound, this was bad, very bad, there was no way she could be this into someone who was this wrapped up in someone else’s life.
“I didn’t know you and Liv were so close.” She commented and you chuckled.
“Well, I mean—”
You were instantly cut off when Noah and Jesse glanced up from the television, shrieks of glee echoing through the apartment, “Auntie Amanda!”
“Mommy!”
They both raced toward you, Jesse launching up into her arms while Noah settled for a tight half hug before wrapping around you and you scooped him up, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.
“You have fun tonight?” You asked.
“Yeah.” He replied with a yawn, “even if Jesse did beat me at board games.”
“Well she is a real quick thinker, isn’t she.” You replied with a smile, tickling at her side briefly and she let out an adorable giggle. Noah yawned again, starting to bury his head into the crook of your neck and you chuckled, leaving a kiss on the top of his head before putting him down on his feet, “okay mister, you’re tired, time for pj’s and teeth brushed.”
“And bedtime stories?”
“And bedtime stories.” You assured him.
“Are you sleeping over tonight?” He asked and you shrugged.
“Dunno. I’ll have to talk to your mom.”
Amanda felt the pit lurch in her stomach as Jesse scrambled out of her arms to grab her things and say goodbye to Noah before he disappeared down the hallway.
“She’s a real gem.” You commented, pulling her back to reality, “you know, if you ever need a last minute sitter, just let me know, I’d be happy to help out.”
“Yeah.” She managed a small smile, “thanks.”
Amanda had trouble sleeping that night, instead of falling asleep to the thoughts of taking you out for dinners, curling up on the couch together, fantasizing about the love the two of you could have, she kept thinking about you in Olivia’s bed. Every time she closed her eyes she felt sick to her stomach, eventually having to get up and turn on some mindless reality television to attempt to distract her.
A week later she was out walking Frannie, wandering the streets of Manhattan while the dog got to explore the city. Things had been rather quiet at work recently, no surprise pop ups or guests in the squad room and while that did bum her out a bit, it had at least helped her stop thinking about you and Olivia. If she didn’t see the two of you together she could separate you, calm her jealousy down a little bit and only catch herself daydreaming about you instead. This crush was driving her insane and she knew it. She was waiting at a street corner, wondering if she should just call you to babysit Jesse and then find some excuse to come home early when movement in the window of a restaurant across the street caught her attention.
It was a nice Italian place; she’d been on a couple of dates there and knew both how extensive and pricey the menu was. Yet, right there at a table for two right against the glass were you and Olivia, warm smiles on your faces, bottle of fancy red wine sitting between the two of you. She watched as the server came by to leave the check and you quickly snagged it from Olivia’s hands, passing off your credit card and Liv didn’t seem to have a care in the world that you were footing the bill. Luckily before she could get too pissed, Frannie barked, tugging her in the opposite direction and she decided it was best to follow her lead instead.
If you had asked, she would say she wasn’t sure how much time had passed since she’d seen you, but she knew it had been exactly seventeen days. Seventeen days that she’d see Olivia smiling at her phone and wonder if it was you texting her, seventeen days of watching Liv leave work early, or come in a little late, seventeen days of Liv being able to have a drink or grab a bite after work because someone was watching Noah and she didn’t need to worry about paying overtime.
So on day eighteen when you paced through the squad room straight into Olivia’s office she couldn’t help but eavesdrop. You had dry cleaning in one hand that you draped over the back of a chair as you said something about two different flavours of cupcakes and a special gluten free dessert for Noah’s bake sale, the bag in your other hand coming to sit on the same chair. Olivia barely looked up from her work, muttering a quick thanks before asking if you could pick up Noah after a ballet class that night. You replied with an enthusiastic ‘of course’ before she gestured to the computer in front of her and you let out a breath of a laugh, nodding and said you’d see her after dinner and quickly swung out of her office. Though you did pause briefly to flash Amanda a glittering smile, the sparkle in your eye making her heart leap in her chest.
She waited until the elevator doors slid shut and you vanished from the precinct before pushing back her chair. As much as she knew she shouldn’t stick her nose in other people’s business, she couldn’t handle it anymore, she had to say something. She quickly knocked on Olivia’s office door, swinging it shut behind her.
“Got a minute?”
“Yeah, what’s up Rollins?” She glanced up from her work, sliding her glasses off as she folded her arms on her desk.
“You are seriously out of line. You’ve got her running your errands now? Picking up dry cleaning, Liv, come on it’s getting ridiculous.”
“What?” She laughed, leaning back in her chair and that only egged Amanda on even further, letting out a frustrated groan.
“She likes you, so much, and you’re sitting there taking advantage of it! I mean, dropping off coffee when she’s coming in to consult is fine, but coming in on days off with food, dropping everything to babysit Noah last minute, or in the middle of the night? Not to mention those cupcakes look homemade, it’s like she’ll do anything for you and you barely say thank you.”
“Amanda…” She laughed again, “I paid her, for all of the above and she loves spending time with Noah.”
“That really doesn’t make things better! Why is she footing the bill at fancy restaurants when your salary is clearly more than hers, and don’t even get me started on the fact that she’s like, twenty years younger than you.”
Olivia’s head tilted, her brow furrowing as she started to realize what the blonde was getting at, a small smirk on her lips before she spoke, “I’m starting to think you’ve got the wrong idea about this.”
“Oh? What?” She scoffed, “you’re not using her and this is actually what a healthy relationship looks like?”
“I’m not in a relationship or even considering having one with her. Trust me.”
“What’d you mean, why?” It was Amanda’s turn to be confused, she could feel her heart starting to hammer in her chest.
“Well for starters… she’s twenty years younger than me.” Liv chuckled, “secondly, she’s my goddaughter.”
“Oh god.” Amanda felt her cheeks flushing as she dropped her face into her hands, wishing she could shrink into a little ball to never be seen again.
“But I have a feeling this is more than just you wanting to call me out about inappropriate relationships.” She chuckled, grinning as the younger woman dropped into the empty chair. “Someone’s jealous.”
“I—” Amanda shot her a glare before sighing, “yeah, okay. I just… you guys spend so much time together, you’re so comfortable with each other and now that makes more sense. It just seems like she’d do anything for you.”
“And that drove you a little wild because you would do anything for her.”
“Oh it’s not that—”
“Amanda, please. I’ve seen the way you look at her, you’re all heart eyes with your head in the clouds.” She teased, “and for what it’s worth, she helps out so much because I picked her up from school every day when she was a kid. She’s just trying to pay it back now that she’s the one that has more free time. And she does get paid for it.”
“Sorry…” Amanda mumbled, the embarrassment returning to flood through her body.
“How about instead of whining about it in my office like a love sick teenager you go tell her how you feel, ask her to dinner?”
“What?” Her head shot up, eyes wide as her heart hammered in her chest and Olivia laughed, “I can’t! I mean, there’s no way she’d say yes.”
“You’re being ridiculous.” Olivia grinned, “she won’t shut up about how much she likes you. So go,” she waved her off, “just treat her right or you’ll hear from me.”
*
You were standing in front of the open fridge in your kitchen, trying to figure out what you could scrape up for dinner when there was a knock on your apartment door. Your head tilted in the direction of the sound, wondering who would be paying a visit as you swung the fridge door shut and padded down the hallway.
“Amanda?” You greeted, flashing her a smile once the confusion wore off, “you need something?”
“I, uh… sorry. I hope I’m not interrupting.”
“No, not at all.” You laughed softly, stepping back from the door to let her into the apartment, “I was just trying to decide on dinner but my fridge is pretty bare.”
“Oh! You know, I think I might have something to help with that.”
“Yet you’re empty handed?” You raised a brow, the corner of your mouth curving up.
“We could go out.” She stuttered slightly, shrugging, “I mean, god…this is so awkward.” She laughed, feeling the heat creeping into her cheeks as your stomach started doing flips, wondering if you were reading the situation wrong or not. “Would you.. like to go for dinner? With me?”
“I would love to.” Your face burst into a grin, “like, right now?”
“Uh, yeah.” She giggled, “I think if I bailed now Liv might kill me.”
“Oh please don’t tell me she gave you some kind of lecture or warning.” You groaned, “I honestly don’t know if it’s the cop thing or the godmother thing, but she’s always been a little overprotective.”
“She just worries, and I’m sure she wants what’s best for you.”
“And if that happens to be you?” You boldly stepped toward her with a soft smile and Amanda felt the blush creeping up her cheeks.
“I’m uh… not sure.” She laughed awkwardly, pulling another one from you.
“It’s alright.” You leant in, your perfume invading her senses as you squeezed at her hand and pressed a feather light kiss to her cheek, “you’ve already got the seal of approval.”
“Really?”
“Of course.” Turning from her for a moment you grabbed your jacket and scooped up your keys, “how do you feel about Thai?”
With a wicked grin that made Amanda’s heart beat faster, you grabbed her hand, fingers lacing between hers as you locked the apartment door and lead her to the elevator.
Olivia smiled brightly the next time you showed up at the precinct, beelining directly for Amanda’s desk, placing down a cup of coffee and a takeout container as you perched on the edge of her desk. It was small, the affection going unnoticed by anyone else in the room, but there was no doubt that both of you were completely infatuated with each other. Neither of you able to control the smiles on your cheeks, the small laughter as you playfully teased each other. When Amanda had to get back to work you quickly glanced around the squad room before sneaking a quick kiss, waving to Olivia through the window before you left the detective to do her work.
As it turned out, all you had needed was a little nudge from Olivia to make what happened to be one of the best decisions of your life. You quickly became part of Amanda’s daily routine, whether it was getting ready together in the morning, a quick coffee or lunch break during the day or dinner out in the city. It didn’t take very long until you were the one picking up Jesse, having dinner ready and waiting on the table when Amanda got home from work, something that she absolutely loved and wouldn’t have any other way.
Getting to come home to her girls on a daily basis made her happier than she had ever been before, she knew just how loved she was and just how much you loved her in return. A little misunderstanding had lead to absolute perfection.
