Pedestrian Accidents and how to Avoid Them in Cape Coral, Florida
A pedestrian can be defined as any person in locomotion on or adjacent to a road. That moving person can be walking, gliding, running, jogging, hiking, or doing something else. Sudden, unforeseen and terrifying,Fort Myers pedestrian accidents can be disastrous, some even result in damage to properties.
It is imperative that pedestrians and drivers alike exercise due discretion when traveling. Both must apply reasonable caution.
There are numerous kinds of pedestrian accidents, the five (5) most common of which are below.
1.    Pedestrian crossing a highway, especially limited or restricted ones. Cross only on pedestrian lanes as much as possible. Exceptions can be made for drivers whose vehicles act up along the road.
2.    Road-side accidents with pedestrians can mostly be avoided if only the pedestrians stay off the road, in sidewalks for example. It is practical for pedestrians to take the farthest side of the road.
3.    Off-road accidents with pedestrians are reportedly more often than not due to drunk or distracted driving. Inclement weather and night-time which reduces visibility are pointed out as culprits too. While, obviously, the pedestrian cannot control the driver, more so, nor the weather and time, the former can at least be wary enough of a vehicle about to crash onto him or her.
4.     Backing-vehicle pedestrian accidents are a familiar story at parking spaces. While this is more of a driver’s responsibility, still the same, the pedestrian should exercise personal safety and awareness of the surroundings.
5.    Work or play accidents could, by and large, be avoided by slowing down on work, school and play zones or where the masses flock or prowl.
Fort Myers pedestrian accidents are avoidable, yet, again, anyone can fall victim.
