The 2024 Goodguys autocross season came to a dramatic finale, at the 27th Speedway Motors Goodguys Southwest Nationals, where Forgeline customers dominated the competition, winning 3 of the 5 class shootouts plus the coveted King of the Desert title.
The class shootouts started with the Pro-X class, where for the fourth year in a row, a Leisinger came out on top, thanks to Josh Leisinger's win in his Summit Racing-sponsored 1964 Chevrolet Corvette on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels. In the Pro class, Bob Bertelsen took top honors with his 1968 Chevrolet Corvette on Forgeline forged three piece CV3C wheels. It wasn't all flowers and sunshine, but after a grueling 24 hours of racing at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, two Forgeline-equipped Chevrolet Corvette GT3.Rs landed on the podium, with the No.13 entry from AWA Racing taking home the win in the GTD class and the No.3 entry from Pratt Miller Motorsports taking the runner up spot in the GTD Pro class.
Four different teams had entered a total of five Corvette GT3.Rs at Daytona, including entries from Pratt Miller Motorsports, Trackhouse by TF Sport, AWA Racing, and DXDT Racing, making 2025 the largest field of Corvettes since 2007. Not surprisingly, 24 hours of intense racing took its toll on several of the entries, with the winning AWA Racing car losing both of its rear view mirrors, the DXDT car suffering an engine fire, and a now-infamous altercation between the No.4 Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette and the No.48 BMW.
In addition to the five Corvettes in the Weathertech field, the Daytona weekend also saw five Ford Mustang GT4s compete on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels in Friday's Michelin Pilot Challenge BMW Endurance Challenge race, where the No.59 entry from KohR Motorsports, driven by Billy Johnson and Bob Michaelian, earned a third place podium finish to kick off the 2025 season.
Congrats to the teams at AWA Racing, Pratt Miller Motorsports, KohR Motorsports, and everyone at Chevrolet and Ford, and thank you for the trust that you’ve placed in Forgeline! Learn more at: https://www.forgeline.com/blog/corvette-gt3rs-endure-rolex-24-at-daytona/31706

Pro Tip: Cold temperatures, ice, and snow may create the illusion that the 2025 racing season is far away, but that's only an illusion. The 2025 racing season has already begun, and it won't be long before everyone wakes up and realizes that they need their race wheels tomorrow. The smart buyers are ordering their 2025 season wheels today, while our production queues are still relatively short, and with plenty of time to spare before the first event. Do yourself a favor, and don't wait until the last minute! Get started here: https://www.forgeline.com/wheels/c1842

Not just another pretty wheel. Yes, our Open Lug design concept looks cool, and it has been copied by many other wheel brands, since we first released the idea in 2011. But we created this concept not for style reasons, but for real racetrack functionality. By working closely with racing teams and racecar engineers, we discovered that opening up the area around the lug nuts would not only reduce mass, but it would also make pit stops faster by creating more room for the pneumatic pit tools and by omitting the lightening pockets from the backside of the mounting pad (thus mitigating the possibility of the pockets getting stuck on the lug studs, during a tire change). In other words, the Forgeline Open Lug design was engineered to make the wheel faster both on the track and in the pit. So the next time that you see a pretty street wheel with an open lug center design, you can thank the Forgeline motorsport program and the teams who worked with us to develop this performance improvement.
