Yandere Cullens Family's Reactions to You Attempting to Escape:
WARNINGS: Yandere, running away, mature language, manipulation, toxic relationship, gaslighting, etc.
SUMMARY: You tried to run away from your kidnapper lover but your attempt failed and now you have to face the consequences of your actions. Problem is, how will your beloved yandere react to it and what are the punishments that lie ahead for you?
AUTHOR'S NOTE: We had the Volturi guards and now, we'll have the Cullens! I guess, I'm in my active writing era for tumblr, so don't be surprised if I end up posting a whole lot more. It can be about Twilight or even other fandoms. I'll definitely be posting more for Miguel O'Hara too. Also, I was supposed to post this later on but it got put on queue and I didn't know how to put it out of the list, so I apologize if it seems a little rushed.
MASTERLIST & REQUESTS: Before you go, have a glass of wine or better yet, recommend a good bottle. any kind of message is always a delight.
-----
EDWARD CULLEN aka THE MIND READER
Tumblr media
He's a mind reader. That is the only thing you need to know about him to know that it's useless to even try to escape because Edward is already reading your mind to see the potential plans of your escape. He'll do everything to ensure you won't escape and if you managed to find a single hint that could bring your hopes up to do so, he'll immediately eliminate it by fixing the problem. If you had somehow— no one knows precisely how —managed to find an escape, then just know that he'll find you soon enough. Not even just because of his abilities as a vampire since he can easily track down your scent with them, but also because well— he can read your mind. Edward will know where you desperately want to go to and he'll know about the decisions that you'll make as you try to escape. So, good luck but it's practically impossible, unless you managed to outsmart him by thinking of some sort of distraction. But yeah, it's almost impossible because he's constantly reading your mind! Very nosy indeed for a vampire but even worse as a yandere vampire.
CARLISLE CULLEN aka THE DOCTOR
Tumblr media
He would be disappointed. Carlisle isn't the type to get angry at people, but he would get disappointed in you when you try to run away because he thought you knew better than to do that. Honestly, out of everyone in the family, Carlisle is the yandere who gives the most freedom to his darling partner. Carlisle gives a lot of trust to you but after your attempt escape, which was most likely ruined because of another family member, he will definitely be keeping a closer eye on you. Carlisle will either give you a scolding after your escape or he will be quite silent while checking if you got any injuries while being outside. The latter is actually scarier than the first because it's unusual for Carlisle to be giving you the silent treatment and it would mean that he would be more cautious and give you less freedom from then on. However, instead of immediately locking you up in the house after your attempt escape, Carlisle will show you all the reasons to keep you in the house. It could be by showing you the wounds and deaths caused by a rogue vampire or even just by bringing you to the hospital to show you the potential wounds you could get by being outside.
ALICE CULLEN aka THE PSYCHIC
Tumblr media
Same situation as Edward. She's a psychic. Alice can easily check through her gift when you feel even the slightest want to go against her. She'll immediately fix the problem and spend more time with you and be much more attentive too. However, if you decide to rebel against her far too many times, she might just let you attempt an escape. Under her watchful eye, of course, since she doesn't want anything to happen to her precious darling but Alice is sure she can make an accident or two happen around you or maybe worsen your day with some horrible mannered humans to get you thinking that going outside and rebelling against her isn't worth it. She'll be faking her worries when you finally decide to come back home to her and she'll fuss all over your health. Alice might hide it from you but she is strategic and quite smart, especially when it concerne you. Your attempt had also given Alice a chance to guilt trip you into being her personal dress up doll. Not that you already weren't before, but things are certainly much smoother if you follow her order like a sweet darling right?
ROSALIE HALE-CULLEN aka THE BEAUTY
Tumblr media
Rosalie would be scoffing at your attempt. She's definitely annoyed and angry at you, but she is also blaming herself for it. Rosalie should have known you would try to escape and she probably had a feeling on that as well, yet she still decided to trust her darling. You could say that she considered it as a test to see your loyalty to her, one in which you had failed horribly. After she has finally calmed down from her anger, which could take a few days, she will return to you with a sweet smile and continue treating you as her precious jewel like she usually does. Now, you can ignore her attempts to win you back over with her charms and even insult her for it, but do remember that Rosalie could be the sweetest person in the world towards her darling, constantly spoiling you with affection and cherishing you with her gentle words. Her actions causes you to be awfully conflicted about your want to escape because why would you want to get away from someone who loves you more than anything in the world? Your doubts could be added if you had terrible partners in the past.
JASPER HALE-CULLEN aka THE SOLDIER
Tumblr media
Jasper will definitely be hurt. I mean, which yandere wouldn't feel hurt at some point if their darling tries to escape? But out of everyone, Jasper is the one who shows it the most. He's trying so hard to adjust for his darling on everything. He had made renovations to his home, specifically to accomodate to your taste and comfort. He had to endure more trainings to keep his blood thirst under control because he doesn't want to hurt you, and so much more. Jasper doesn't expect you to return anything, not even your affections since he understands he needs to earn it, but you attempting to escape is almost like you were dismissing all of his efforts in one go or even worse, you didn't give a shit about them in the first place and that was what probably hurted him the most. Jasper will probably get stricter with you after that. He had tried to be fair and tried to respect your space before and to be quite honest, he is the yandere who gives the most freedom to you after Carlisle. His only rule was for you to not leave him. But you had to break the rule and now, you'll pay for the consequences.
ESME CULLEN aka THE LOVER
Tumblr media
Esme has the same reaction as Jasper. She's hurt but she is also confused as well. Esme is really patient and she understands that you needed time and space to adjust living in her house, your new and sudden home that was completely foreign to you, and she's trying hard to get you adjusted and be as comfortable as possible. Like Jasper, she's doing everything she can for your comfort but unlike Jasper, she expects your acceptance in return. It's not as if she is expecting it in a cruel type of way with the mindset that she's doing something for you, so you should do something for her. No, Esme is nothing like that. However, Esme made sure she was doing everything right and she expected for your relationship with her to go more smoothly, not for you to suddenly escape. Your failed escape made her think she did something wrong, but she's confused because she had done everything right so far. Esme never forced you to return your affections, she wanted to slowly earn it, which is why after your failed escape, she had a talk with you and asked you why you tried to leave. Esme knows that she's flawed but she wants to improve herself and do everything she can to fix the problem but in no world would she ever let you go.
EMMETT CULLEN aka THE JOKER
Tumblr media
Emmett is silent. He was so fucking silent that it actually scared you more than if he got angry at you and he had never gotten angry at you either but it's probably much better than the silent treatment you're getting. No teasings or even some bad jokes. Heck, not even his cheesy pick up lines. Emmett still takes care of you and spend time with you during his silent treatment though. He still cooks meals for you and cuddles with you while watching a horror movie, which is actually his favourite activity to do with you, but he still didn't say a single word. And it was starting to get to you as well. You had no one else besides Emmett in the house, sometimes his "siblings" would visit, but they don't talk much with you and you were beginning to slowly grow insane from the lack of conversations. It didn't matter how long it took but after some time, you broke down and begged for Emmett to speak to you because if the silent treatment continued on, you were sure you would go completely insane. Emmett was surprised when you begged him but he was pleased as well. He was silent all this time in order to make him more tolerable to you, but Emmett also knew that he would eventually break you and hoped it would be enough to get you to want to talk to him.

In your opinion what would be snows gay or bi awakening lol
In the books, I think Coryo is too depressed (he is) and too stressed (he is) and too mentally unstable (he is) to really think about love (the sincere kind of love), friendships, and bi/gay awakenings.
He does feel things like pain, sadness, anxiety, and desire. However, his childhood war traumas (the horrific 2 year Capitol siege by the rebels that almost starved everyone to death), hunger (physical and psychological), and early losses in life (the death of his parents and other financial problems) were great factors that shaped him to be as cold as his name.
We also have to understand that he was raised in the Capitol. He was raised in a place that was ruthless and merciless to those who don’t have money, power, or status. If you don’t belong or have no relations/connections with one of the “Old Guards” like the Ravinstills, Heavensbees, or Creeds, then you’re a “loser nobody” who has no place or future in the Capitol.
Propaganda was also everywhere (and I mean everywhere). Sympathizing with the rebels who almost starved and eradicated your people to death is a great no no. This also applies to those who secretly aided and supported the rebels.
Don’t forget, the punishment was so severe as well. Either you die a horrible death or you get turned into an Avox. Die or suffer. Those are your only options if you get caught helping a rebel or even know someone who aligned themselves with rebel sympathizers.
So I understand that Snow had to be selfish AF and put great importance to his and his family’s self-preservation and ambitions no matter the cause, reason, or outcome. And because most people in the Capitol will also choose to put themselves first before others. Heck. Being ruthless and selfish are a form of mercy to one’s tragic self if you live in a country like Panem.
Is it wrong to think like that? To most readers who value goodness and love, yes. However, for those who survived a horrific war, no, not really. And for those who are constantly starving or suffering, no. Sometimes hunger will drive anyone (and I mean anyone) to madness. Even the best of us will be tempted to commit such grave sins in order to survive and live a comfortable life.
In addition, we can’t deny that Snow was living in a cruel society where one mistake will cause you and your whole family’s life and reputation. So a poor Coryo had to pretend that everything was splendid and his life was perfect (like most of his rich classmates) because the House of Snow must not fall. It must always land on top.
Moreover, I believe that pretending and performing are one of Coryo’s strongest coping mechanisms when facing the harshness of reality. In a way, you could say that Snow would rather live and accept his crazy delusions than face the consequences of his actions. If not, he might’ve ended up being sent to the gallows or being turned into an Avox.
Even in the books, when Snow was sent back to the Capitol to meet with Dr. Gaul, there was a part of him that screamed and believed that he and his family would be severely punished. He was even in the verge of accepting his “Avox fate” for the mistakes he made while serving as a Peacekeeper in D12.
So is Coriolanus Snow capable of sincerely loving someone above himself? His childhood war traumas, mental instabilities, ambitions, self-preservation, and depression say NO.
Was Snow in love with Lucy Gray? His lonely life and delusional mind say yes, but he’s too afraid of love and just wants power after experiencing one horrible breakup. So no.
Let’s just say that love is the death of power/ambitions/glory and Snow chose the latter in order to survive and thrive.
Was Sejanus Plinth in love with Snow? Yes. Definitely. I won’t question it.
Did Coryo have feelings for Sejanus? I believe that a tiny part of his cold heart will say yes, but his confused AF mind and “rebel allergies” say no.
But these are just my thoughts and opinions anyway. Lol. I specialize in writing and editing crack!AUs. Not angst.
But I do read a lot of psychological & mental health books, Greek tragedies, historical literature, and crime stories.

So I finished Gintama and I've already started rewatching a couple of my personal favourite episodes (yeah I’m hyper-fixating) but how GOOD some of those earlier arcs were really emphasises how stagnant the ending was. The ending was ok, it wasn't awful, but it was....Meh. I’m late to the party so I’m sure it’s been said a million times before but having all the characters regress back to how they were at the beginning sucked. Nothing changed. For a series that always preached about life being worth living in spite of the change, pain and grief living brings, that sucked. It sucked.
Shogun Assassination and Farewell Shinsengumi are the high points of the series because the events in the arcs are personal for ALL the characters. By Shogun Assassination our core characters have all come to know and care for Shige Shige so wanting to stop his assassination is a poignant goal for everyone. Farewell Shinsengumi deals with the fallout of failing to achieve that goal, culminating with the Shinsengumi willingly becoming rebels to save Kondo, again, one of THE core characters in the show. Both arcs feel high stakes because they are. They’re centred around established and pre-existing characters we've spent hundreds of episodes with. Our characters' actions feel meaningful. The battles we get feel meaningful. It all feels like it'll build to something even more meaningful because what happens in those arcs force our characters to grow and change.
And then we get Utsuro’s introduction and it all goes downhill from there. Sorachi wrote himself into a corner by making Shoyo Utsuro. The second he did that he had to commit to the ending being Gintoki, Katsura and Takasugi shaving Shoyo. Anything else would not be thematically fulfilling. And he didn't do that.
It means Silver Soul is (un)intentionally reduced to a really straightforward good vs bad story for all the characters EXCEPT the Joui 3. The rest of the characters (mostly) have no personal ties to Shoyo. They’re stopping Utsuro et al predominantly because they're bad people out to destroy the Earth. That's it. It doesn't feel high stakes because Utsuro is never going to blow up the earth. That's just not going to happen. So it’s not interesting. You could replace almost all of the characters in Silver Soul with no-name background characters and nothing really changes.
Which makes the ending we did get even more baffling to me because Sorachi clearly realises that or else he wouldn’t have pushed for the ending to go past what had been the agreed end date. And yet the narrative still essentially punishes Gin for his choice to behead Shoyo by having both Takasugi and Shoyo die in the end. Shoyo doesn't get to save his student. Katsura doesn't get to stop Gin from having to cut down someone dear to him again. Takasugi never gets to heal and move on from his trauma. There is zero catharsis.
And then we flash forward with no reflection from any of the characters on what just happened and to make that worse we find out every character has failed to achieve their goals and everyone has regressed back to being the same character as they were at the beginning. Except we’re meant to be happy about that. It’s…..a choice.
Like I said, I’ve seen worse endings, and if I’m being generous it’s a nice safe ending for the Yorozuya. But I never felt like GinTama was a safe series. Utsuro being Shoyo caused a fundamental flaw with the story that Sorachi never really resolves so just wraps it up with a ‘See! It’s still a hijinks comedy series!’ which by the end, no it was a lot more than that.
Also Sorachi did the Shimuras so dirty. SO dirty.

i just woke up so this might not make much sense, but i need to get it out of my brain,,,
a short offering, @byelerss, @catboy-cabin, @conanssummerchild, @dark-quill, @fenixashes, @fluffyfangirl, @foodiewithdahoodie, @holyvirgilscriptures, @hyperfixationcentralsvoid, @ivytheenbyfae, @rotisseries, @runninguplenorahills, @saffirez, @willow-lark, @yearninginblue.
historical au where town troublemaker mike and his aristocratic family have everything and live a great life until one night, when they all get (falsely) declared traitors to the kingdom and get imprisoned for their supposed crimes.
mike, however, wasn't home at the time the guards came and so, he manages to avoid imprisonment altogether. ever the reckless rebel, he then sneaks in to visit his family in prison and he can't free them, but he manages to talk to them long enough for nancy to give him a mission: go into her bedroom, find the secret room he's almost found a thousand times, then grab all the equipment in there and run.
so mike does that. he enters nancy's quarters and walks over to the bookshelf she always yelled at him for approaching, then uses a hidden lever and accesses a small secret room. there, he finds some ancestral artefacts and scrolls that had been passed in their family through generations,,, he finds armour and all kinds of dangerous weapons even mike doesn't know how to handle,,, most of all, however, he finds a lot of questions about what nancy's been doing for the past few years, every time she'd sneak out in the middle of the night under the guise of meeting up with a secret lover.
but mike doesn't have time to think about that. he grabs all the equipment and seeks refuge with his friend lucas —who'd managed to rescue holly earlier and who keeps him company until the morning comes—, and then, at dawn, he makes his way to the city's square, where he witnesses in horror as his family is executed on the spot, faces solemn as they take their punishment for they know the truth will come out at some point.
desolate, lost and, quite frankly, terrified, mike wanders back to lucas' place where, in a trance, he opens up an inconspicuous letter he hadn't even noticed last night. upon reading it, he springs into action for nancy's letter contains further instructions: he's to go to a small cottage on the outskirts of town and hand over the ancient scrolls to the scholar who lives there, for he is the only one who'll know what to do with them and, in doing that, is the only one who can help mike uncover the truth of nancy's mission (their family's mission) and the reasons behind their execution.
so mike goes. and the last 48 hours have been nothing but shocking and confusing discoveries for him, he has way too many questions in his mind, and he doesn't even know what he feels at this point.
however, nothing could've prepared him for the moment the cottage door opens and uncovers a dishevelled-looking young man with poofy hair and a streak of green paint across his cheek, innocent round eyes sparkling with excitement the second he spots the scrolls and the wheeler's coat of arms in mike's bracer.
because there are not many things mike knows about nancy or her secret life, but mike's pretty confident that he still knows something about his sister and that is that her taste in men was, for lack of a better term, quite crap.
and the man in front of mike, the one who's so joyously introducing himself as "will", is anything but.
- the end -
(for those who know video games, yes, this is inspired by assassin's creed >.< i just had a dream about mike as ezio and will as leonardo and had to write about it x.x
bonus story: all of this has already happened, hundreds of years ago, and it's being seen in present times by actual mike, who's been hooked up to a machine that allows him to revisit his ancestor's memories. by watching the love story between his ancestor and the painter, mike realises his feelings for his childhood best friend will ~)

Does anyone else get annoyed when people talk about people infantilizing Gabriel but they only bring it up in the context of like, sex. And not how so many people will brush aside everything Gabriel has ever done and say it wasn't on him because he was forced to by the council and they generally pin EVERYTHING on the council.
So many people remove Gabriels agency in his actions. I'm sorry but you don't become the righteous hand of the father who carries out his will and violence by accident. Implying that Gabriel did not take pride in doing what he thought was right and defending heaven and God when he clearly did and took pride in his role and was GOOD at it. He struck down Minos with no mercy without listening to him. He yelled justice as people looked on in anguish at their slain king. He struck down a man who only wanted to stop being tortured for eternity and who tried to gather an army in a bid for freedom. He sees the punishment and infinite torment of Hell as just. You can't look at Gabriel and not see him as complacent if not playing an active hand in the twisted culture of heaven. He is more sympathetic than the council and during the events of Ultrakill he actually starts to change but you cannot separate Gabriel from his violence completely. His entire character arc is realizing the amount of violence he embodied and questioning why. He did what he thought was right but it wasn't and he never questioned it. Gabriel wasn't forced to do this, not in the way most people think. People depict the council as this evil entity always over Gabriels shoulder telling him to do horrible things but in actuality its more like... they're spreading a corrupted version of their faith and Gabriel agrees with them and carries out what they say because he thinks theyre right.
People will also depict Gabriel as younger than the other council members but theres no indication of that in-game or out. He and the council were all presumably made by God on the exact same day as he had made all angels on one day in the bible. They are all the same age and the same maturity, but people will depict Gabriel as younger or more ignorant almost as a way to justify his actions or not knowing what he was doing and it was all older angel manipulating him when he is just as old as them and had existed before humans were even created.
If Gabriel and the council upheld the same beliefs and worked together... why is Gabriel redeemable or his actions excusable but the councils isn't? Why is Gabriel's spreading and enforcement of the corrupted version of Gods teaching permissible but the Council's isnt?
The right answer is that neither are good. Gabriel before the events of Ultrakill may have been kind to some but to others he was brutally violent. He may have saved Ferryman but he left the other sinners in the Styx because he thought they deserved it. He only saw Ferryman, another who worked for God, as worthy of saving. You can see the difference in how Gabriel treats people who he sees as good and who he sees as bad. He shows a lot of kindness and grace to those he thinks deserves it but to those he sees as irredeemable he had no qualms about killing them or watching as other angels mangled their limbs and left them with just enough body parts to continue their torture but be unable to disobey or rebel again like they did with the Insurrectionists. Gabriel stood by and watched this happen and did NOTHING or actively participated in it.
Depicting the council as irredeemably evil and Gabriel as a someone unable to disobey them does such a disservice to Ultrakill's story and Gabriel's character arc when Gabriel's entire story is realizing his beliefs led him to do horrible things in the name of justice and regretting it. That's his entire arc and brushing aside his violence and the wrong hes done is missing the entire core of his character.
I don't even think the council are GOOD but they're not outright evil like most people assume. They were people who were blinded by their faith and twisted it to their own ends... but Gabriel saw no issue in this until the events of Ultrakill and actively participated in it.
If you can see the shades of gray in morality with Gabriel before his realization in 6-2 that what he was doing was wrong then why do you not extend the same sympathy to the council when they could also clearly grow and change if they had the same realization? They have the same amount of blood on their hands as Gabriel. Hell, they could have less because they canonically didn't go out and fight and Gabriel pointed out they got too used to sitting around. They may spread the dogma of the faith but they are not out committing the violence themselves.
Gabriel is such an amazing nuanced character with many shades of gray to him and seeing people reduce him to a poor innocent manipulated character who had no choice in his actions is so aggravating. He's one of my favorite characters due to the nuances of his character and people just... toss all the nuance to his character aside and ignore it in favor of sanding off all his rough edges and pretending they don't exist.

oh hunter is sooo 'loving but overbearing parent that his teenage daughter rebels against bc her latent Cool Kid genes kicked in' coded... sweet worrywart that has a heart attack when his sweetiepie actually yells at him for the first time... meanwhile every other person on this family is SUCH an enabler to any antics
When they're expecting a baby, Hunter's mood would swing between absolutely ecstatic and completely horrified at the idea of being a parent. Like he loves. He loves so much. He wants this baby and he wants to love her so badly. But he worries himself to pieces over possibly becoming anything resembling the "parent" Belos was. Which...yknow....shouldn't be hard to avoid. Don't be evil and don't treat your kid like shit? Easy, right? So he initially tries to reassure himself with that logic but it doesn't stop the anxiety. And even though Willow adamantly argues that he'd never turn out like Belos, he also gets her to promise that she'll reign him in if that ever happens. He's just...paranoid. But this comforts him somewhat.
But throughout Hunter's journeys with parenthood, he struggles a little with finding a sweet spot between strict, protective, supportive, loving and a safe place where his kid feels secure. Because like. Hunter was such a curious kid who desperately wanted to study "dangerous" things. Surely he wouldn't want to be the person who doesn't let his kid broaden her horizons. He wouldn't want to snuff out the incorrigible curiosity that she inherited fron him in the first place. He should be encouraging it.
But at the same time....Hunter didn't feel fully safe in his life until he was sixteen. There was a point where it felt like the whole world wanted him dead. He almost lost so many friends. He did lose a friend. After everything he's endured it would be in his nature to worry about the safety of those who are important to him. So being an anxious worrywort to keep his daughter from getting hurt definitely clashes horribly with his desire to give her the opportunities he never had. He doesn't want to be controlling but it's hard when you worry so much, yknow?
These two principles mashed together results in a very coddling Dad who is all for letting his daughter experience new things. Just so long as Hunter is right there beside her. He wouldn't let her take his or Willow's staffs for a test ride unless one of them rode alongside her until she got a palisman of her own. Which was SO embarrassing because her friends borrowed their parents staff all the time.
Hunter means well but he's developed a bad habit of smothering her. He's just so blinded by the need to keep her safe that he doesn't realize that he's not giving her the proper space to grow. He doesn't completely understand why she starts getting so rebellious.
Though he was hesitant to do so when she was really little and he was still getting used to the parenting thing, Hunter eventually does decide to start implementing punishment. Because at some point he realizes that he can't not. She can dislike him all she wants but keeping her out of danger is the most important thing. If he has to punish her to guarantee that, he will.
He's very careful about how he executes this. Punishment from Belos ranged anywhere from physical threats to psychological manipulation that had Hunter questioning how much he had to pull his weight to justify existence.
If his kid misbehaves herself, she receives a stern talking to. Sometimes Willow will decide if this is worthy of a grounding. But Hunter only dishes out punishment if her actions put her or anybody else in danger. And then once she's grounded, he comes into her room and slowly explains that this is the reason so there's no misunderstanding.
But you know how kids are. She loves her Dad. She really does. Sometimes it feels like he's the only person who understands her. Sometimes it feels like he GETS that she's smart and tough and powerful. He teaches her about palisman. Sometimes his chest swells with pride, and he smiles and says "You're as strong as your mom" and she knows that's the highest praise he could give her. But sometimes....UGHH!!! Sometimes he really gets under her skin. It's like he still sees her as a baby. And she doesn't understand why.
Hunter does not look down on his daughter in the slightest. He doesn't see her as weak. He just sees too much of himself in her. The tendency for recklessness and half baked plans. And he knows she's not a baby. But she's his baby. And when you're raised by somebody who did everything wrong and he let you get hurt again and again, you do everything in your power to do everything right. You make sure nothing ever hurts them. And that's how you end up like Hunter.
And one of these days, his daughter is going to learn the truth of her Dad's upbringing. And it's all going to make sense.

🌸 Teen Audiences
🌸 1k Words
🌸 For the @noragamizines!
It was almost eerie how beautiful the sight that greeted him was.
Serene and secluded mountain terrains that were undoubtedly explored by many others before him, yet none would've imagined that they were strolling right past a corpse. A twisted joke was displayed in front of the blond with the appearance of tranquil flora, which surrounded something that didn't quite belong.
A broken refrigerator— Haruki's gravesite.
Hello everyone! Alice here! ^^
Another project I was helping cook up this year was the Noragami Finale Zine! I was assigned to write a story for the Ooharai Arc (aka where my boy Yukine just goes back to his rebel roots), and I'm honestly quite happy with how it turned out~
Noragami was the first series that truly got me into anime, and that's why it will always hold a special place in my heart!
Tumblr media
“I believe our mother was intercepting the letters, and maybe even sending them back, too…” Yuka spoke barely above a whisper, her eyes never leaving the crinkly old envelopes that lay in the box in front of her.
Haruki could only stare in disbelief at the words that left his sister's mouth. Their mother couldn't have possibly done that, could she? During his entire childhood, the woman had been nothing but kind and supportive to them both, her only flaw ever being how forgiving she was of their father's actions. Yet the blond couldn't bring himself to blame her for leaving him with that monster, even if he wanted to.
But if what Yuka said was true, he didn't know what to feel anymore.
“Not even she wanted you. Nobody wanted you.” The voice in his head whispered those ugly words as it'd been doing so recently, but Haruki did his best to ignore them. They weren't true after all, since he knew for a fact that his sister loved him. Even if no one else did.
“I knew what he was doing to Haruki, yet I never mustered the courage to actually go see him.” His sister's voice wavered as silent tears began rolling down her cheeks. “I was worried he would hate me for abandoning him, so I never stopped apologizing in my letters, hoping that one day he'd come see me so we could work things out…”
“I did come!” The blond couldn't bear hearing her say these things. Lies that she fabricated in her mind out of guilt. “I could never hate you! I'm right here, Yuka!”
In that instant however, reality came crashing down on him when the young girl from his memories turned into an older woman, features still the same, but laced with the inevitable grip of mortality. Wrinkles appeared on her forehead as she forced a smile. “But he never did. That means Haruki's dead, isn't he?”
“You worthless brat… wanting to leave me too, huh? After all I've done for you!”
Hiyori placed a hand on top of Yuka's in a matter of reassurance, but at this point everything they were saying was white noise to Haruki's ears. His breathing became raggedy and agitated, despite the fact that his lungs didn't require any air. Not anymore.
“That bitch don't care about you! Nobody does! Why you think she took your sister instead o' you?!”
Images of his father began seeping into his mind uninvited, and it all immediately prompted him to leave the house and travel to another location that at some point his mind had started to forget. He didn't want to believe it—he really didn't—so he had to see it for himself. He wouldn't believe it otherwise.
It was almost eerie how beautiful the sight that greeted him was. Serene and secluded mountain terrains that were undoubtedly explored by many others before him, yet none would've imagined that they were strolling right past a corpse. A twisted joke was displayed in front of the blond with the appearance of tranquil flora, which surrounded something that didn't quite belong: A broken refrigerator.
Haruki's gravesite.
“You dying ain't my fault. It's divine punishment…”
Shivers ran up his spine as his knees gave up on him, causing him to collapse as he stared at the open makeshift casket. The place he took his final breath as he kept begging for an explanation, for mercy, for anything. But the eyes that looked down on him held nothing but pure unadulterated hatred.
“See ya, Haruki.”
“I'm dead…” Haruki's voice quivered with silent tears staining his clothes. Memories flooded back in a rush, and it was all too overwhelming as he gripped at the grass below his feet. “I-I'm actually dead. I don't belong anywhere—”
Suddenly something bumped against his palm from the inside of his pocket, slightly bringing him out of his dismay. After searching into his coat, the blond was surprised by what he'd discovered, eyeing it with curiosity. The wooden omamori was rough against his fingers since it was most definitely carved by hand, and the discarded yet familiar name written on it brought a warmth to his nonexistent beating heart.
Haruki had received it from Yato a long time ago—a memory from a life that didn't seem his own despite having become a Blessed Vessel in order to protect it. The feelings of jealousy and rage that consumed him back then seemed inconsequential now, while holding a physical reminder of the people he'd left behind in search of his truth.
Haruki had simply thrown them all away.
“How will they ever forgive me?” The reality of the situation was beginning to dawn on him as if he didn't have enough to deal with already. His betrayal, joining forces with Father, fighting those he swore he'd protect with everything he had. “Dad was right… nobody could ever love someone like me…”
“Yukine!”
The voice calling out eventually reached him, making Haruki realize that at some point his physical form left the battlefield to come to this place. Tentative steps could be heard rustling the grass, but the blond didn't have to look up to know who it was.
“Yukine… Are you okay?” It was a silly question, but laced with so much worry that Haruki couldn't help but lift his gaze to look into those familiar blue orbs. They held nothing but concern, which was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Yukine launched himself into the man's arms, sobbing and burying his nose into the scent of sweat that he missed so much. His entire body was shaking. “I-I'm sorry… I'm so sorry!”
Yato held him close with tears of his own flowing onto the blond's cheek. “It's okay Yukine… It's all going to be okay.”
Yukine didn't know what the future held. Fate was messy, convoluted and not always fair. But there was one thing he knew for certain—he'd never have to go at it alone.
Never again.

One of the reasons why I love Watership Down so much is because of how it portrays trauma, fear and pain. Because it’s not always about being terrified or crying with despair. All these emotions have their ugly sides.
And every rabbit shows it in different ways.
Woundwort had his parents killed and later was captured, put in a cage. That is not something the netflix series and tv series randomly pulled out of their sleeve, it was already like that in the book.
Pipkin mentions it himself - all these terrible things Woundwort does, it’s because of his fear. Of humans and predators. Like Pipkin said, he was hurt and it made him hate the whole world. Even in season three, character development doesn’t have to mean changing for the better. Sometimes you change for the worst. He tried to stop the war, it failed, his warren ended up in ruins. So he thought destruction was his legacy.
And he is still afraid. Note that Spartina asks why Woundwort is so afraid of Hazel.
Even in the Netflix series, he claims he is not afraid. But his words contradict his actions, as I said before and that’s why Netflix Woundwort has grown on me. I just love when a characters words contradict their actions!
Hyzenthlay was suspicious, distant and cold towards new rabbits out of fear they could be a spy. She didn’t trust anybody that was not part of her family and she did make sure Clover was ostracized from the rest of the group.
Nelthilta, in her own way, is scared too. Yes, Hyzenthlay says she views everything as a game and the fact that she drops hints to their escape proves that. But Nelthilta also says it herself - the presence of officers overwhelms her. She’s excited to let everyone know she is friends with rebels because they might be stronger in numbers. Her cheeky behavior feels almost as if she hides her fear behind sass.
Nettle became a spy for Orchis out of fear the does would get hurt. It’s obvious she is upset over it, that she actually wants to escape as well. But we see the metaphorical chains Orchis has on her so she cannot stop. Heck, she tells him: “We are going to break out west side of the warren” not “they”. She doesn’t exclude herself from it. And she apologizes to Hyzenthlay - while still lying in the same breath.
Orchis became so blinded with rage for Hyzenthlay and the others after the death of his brother that he stuck with his General until the end - and he would lash out if someone would say something nice about the outsiders. He becomes more unhinged as it goes on.
Vervain would have done everything for his general. You can see how he has a majority of Woundwort’s bad traits. His fear causes him to abuse his power because the punishment of failing scares him. His rank goes to his head because the way Vervain treats his Owsla is exactly how Woundwort treats him and others all the time. He takes his own frustration out on them. His fear is what caused him to rejoin Woundwort as a survival tactic.
Campion became withdrawn from everyone and even downright depressed in season three to a point where he would have prefered to stay dead.
Blackavar‘s whole mental condition in the book is so bad, I don’t even know where to start. He’s with different rabbits now and his advice doesn’t get taken, so he just forgets about it like his opinion never mattered.
Bluebell was hiding behind jokes as a coping mechanism, to get himself and Holly going. Telling his story as the only survivor from underground is the only serious moment he has.
Hawkbit’s snark moments are almost always because he is afraid of the unknown and because he is stressed - it’s the whole reason he keeps lashing out at Fiver. His visions are cryptic.
Pipkin, no matter what he goes through, remains full with kindness. He is good at talking to people, he is good at getting them to open up. But he never extends that kindness to himself. His issues usually fester and then he just blurts them out, something that becomes even worse when Campion makes him promise not to tell everyone he is alive.
“I did everything wrong,” he says when the promise is broken.
Pipkin is kind and forgiving towards others, but generally has a tendency to ignore his own issues and will be unnecessary harsh at himself for it. He would rather help others feel better. Even when he is angry when the war is over and everyone snaps at each other because the warren is filled, he runs off to cool down somewhere.
When he is upset, he deals with it on his own. He will answer when someone asks about it but generally never approaches first.
Blackberry's grief over losing Campion causes her to snap at others.

i think its very interesting that people mistake dean for a e8 and/or ES(T) and by 'people' i mean pdb votes (which is a whopping 935 and counting, surprisingly enough) when in reality hes just an incredibly skewed sx6 IS(T) it wouldnt make sense for him to be e8, because the entire point of e8s is that theyre rebellious, they strongly oppose/react aggressively to authority figures. which is the opposite of dean. dean had been following an authority figure ever since he was a kid—his dad. almost to an unhealthy degree at that. "...Hence the fixation of rebellion arises, it is a rebellion fixated completely on protecting the right to live according to one's impulses and desires, and stems from having to fight for this right very early on in childhood..." => this is not dean winchester! especially not kid!dean. e8 do it out of the purpose that they want to gain their own autonomy, they're rebellious because they want to be able to do whatever they want disregarding other people's feelings on the matter. sx6 also rebel, quite a lot actually, but they do it out of fear of punishment. Their rebellion is connected to the ideal of The Hero: "one who challenges the world for a just cause, willing to lose his life to save others."
The closest e8 i think people r likely to confuse him for is so8 (ive also assumed he was so8 early on in the series) because of their whole "protect the weaker than them" and "seeking justice" ect ect but this is not exclusive to so8s. sx6s also exhibit this behavior n mindset
Unlike so8, sx6 acts on fear. sx6's response to fear is very different of that compared to sp6 n so6. "...They can then end up exaggerating their strength or beauty, since they are afraid they must learn to protect themselves or be desired. Because of this, this character is often counterphobic, meaning they go against their fear..." => theyre a lot of bark, but rarely bite. In an attempt to mask their fear, they can often act reckless -> dean's infamous "shoot first ask questions later" which can be mistaken for ES(T). but these dangerous n reckless actions are calculated, they know what they're doing while taking these risks. They can also be reckless when met with people in need of protection (i.e. people they deem weaker/incompetent. also can be mistaken for so8). The contrast infixes in them the courage to face dangerous scenarios (dean's insistent on hunting because it saves lives, innocent people that arent in the know, despite putting his life on the line) "...The deep motivation is to maintain the image of a strong person who does not give in to fear¹. Sensing the risk, he increases the inner excitement that feeds the idea of being strong²..." ¹often can be mistaken for e8. as e8 do not allow themselves to appear weak or vulnerable. not of out fear. but because this would imply incapability to achieve their goal and therefore, a bruise in their ego. ²also often can be mistaken for e8. e8 do not need to sense the risk to do this, they can also do it out of egotistical reasons. which is not exclusive to e8 n can happen to sx6 too, although not that frequent n noticeable. Another point i want to bring up regarding e8 vs sx6 is intimacy and lust. while they can be intertwined and confused when next to each other, theyre very different in all aspects. e8's lust is a search for intensity in life that will drown out the noise of an empty existence, taking others for granted as much as they can. sx6's also instinctively seek out sexual intimacy and i quote "as if the intensity of these encounters were enough to satisfy their need for human contact."
but, however, and i quote again "He does not want the other to realize that he likes or desires him, because that would be putting himself in his hands, allowing him to do what he wants with him." => basically what this means is that the sx6 is afraid to give in into emotional intimacy, out of vulnerability and fear. to be emotionally intimate, is to be tender, is to be soft and docile. they cannot allow themselves to do this, it would mean the protective walls theyve built will be broken down, it would mean their fate is now in another's hands and they cannot control it (fear of losing control = e6; need for control = e8)
i might do a longer post abt this bc i havent even gone to the nooks and crannies of it yet. this man is so painfully sx6, please reconsider ur sx8 votes

Can I have A, P, and Y, of the Yandere Alphabet for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, please?
it's been a while, had the sudden urge to answer an ask, haven't done one in half a year, but i'm hoping with this sudden burst of energy i'll start to post more. but anyways I'd also like to say that i've kept most of my old asks, unless i've seen them answered somewhere else or it's an au, so i'll probably eventually get to your ask if you sent one in. also thank you for sending this ask in, i really enjoyed writing this one
𝒴𝒜𝒩𝒟𝐸𝑅𝐸 𝒜𝐿𝒫𝐻𝒜𝐵𝐸𝒯; 𝐻𝒪𝒩𝒢 𝒦𝒪𝒩𝒢, 𝒯𝒜𝐼𝒲𝒜𝒩 𝒜𝒩𝒟 𝑀𝒜𝒞𝒜𝒰 𝒜, 𝒫 𝒜𝒩𝒟 𝒴
A - AFFECTION ( how do they show their love?. )
• hong kong is perhaps the most adaptable to his darlings love language, whilst many other yanderes have their darling adapt to them, leon adapts to his darling. he is observant, and will keep track of what his darling finds to be affectionate, if his darling enjoys getting flowers, he will get them flowers, and so on. however it is often over exaggerated, to the point his darling is disturbed.
• taiwan is very traditional, and shows her love through grand gestures and giving gifts. even just days after they've met, she's already sending them stuffed animals and writing poems. it's suffocating, she comes on strong, and tries to make herself as appealing as possible, without realising that a marriage proposal after one month of knowing them comes across as strange, even if it was jokingly said.
• macau becomes his darlings servant once he has fallen for them, he dotes on them hand and foot, cooking for them, doing all in his power to make their life easier. he is most likely to know his darling well, and the sudden onset affection won't be too strange, which is what makes him so successful. he also caters to his darlings preferences, but tries to subtly change their preferences to match with his.
P - PATIENCE ( how patient are they with their darling? )
• hong kong is very patient, especially for his age. he is more likely to lash out at others, albeit in a disguised way, than his darling. he is content as long as his darling spends most of their time with him. but if they distance them self or start a relationship with someone else, his patience for letting them run around freely will end. however even after kidnapping, he returns to his state of patience, and is hard to deter, but push him there if you wish.
• taiwan isn't patient at all, the moment she finds her darling, they are hers, and anyone, including her darling, who tries to separate them must face consequences. she is sweet to them, but isn't afraid to punish them from rebelling against her, however she will do it with a sickly sweet smile on her face. mei pushed to her limit isn't something her darling wants to see, however.
• macau both is and isn't patient. he is incredibly manipulative, and if his darling isn't cooperating, they will never know they are upsetting him. he'll get them to obey him gradually and never raises his voice or appears mad. the moment they display a behaviour he finds troublesome, he's subconsciously thinking of ways to fix it, despite trying to tell himself he won't ever change or hurt his darling.
Y - YEARN ( how long do they pine after their darling before they snap?. )
• hong kong isn't likely to fall for someone quickly, he'll know them for a while before his obsession starts, but when it does, it's on a whim, their smile, their eyes, their talent in something. it doesn't matter what but he's enamoured. he can wait years if he must, but eventually he can't stand being apart from them, and takes action.
• taiwan can become obsessed almost instantly, of course she can develop on obsession for someone she already know, but more likely, she's introduced with someone that enamors her, and they're all She can think about. it could be the week they meet, the month, she's not going to wait long unless she's up against someone bigger than herself.
• macau can't pinpoint when his obsession started, he knew his darling for a while, and soon their presence in his mind became commonplace. but once he realises he loves them, one goal is set in his mind, looking after them. so cheng's not going to snap unless they are in a dire situation, and can even tolerate them seeing another person, so long as he is in their life.

I think Greer is such an interesting and important addition to stargate canon!
From the beginning military characters have always been the protector. Obviously, because the scientists aren’t always trained to defend themselves. Mostly, the military characters are good guys. They protect their people, and often refuse orders from above to harm innocents.
But do we really believe every military person in the stargate missions would act that way? Military people are famously trained to obey orders above all else. This is sometimes mentioned in passing in sga/sg1 but never really focused on.
So the question can be raised, what if there was a military protector character who did obey orders without question?
Now we have Greer. He is military, and practically obsessed with being a protector. He canonically will follow young’s orders- even including torture (kinda) and (believed) murder of another military leader, without question because young is his commander. Now, he does seem to pick and choose who he thinks is worth obeying - he will listen to young, but other military commanders he doesn’t approve of (like Telford) are liable to get malicious compliance or outright rebellion. We also can’t forget he was basically in prison at the beginning because he attacked a military superior he didn’t agree with (also Telford I think?)
It is canon that Greer is not violent just be violent, he sees it as a necessary tool to get things done. If anything he doesn’t want to be violent for no reason or all the time - as we see when he remembers his abusive father. He wants to be different than that!
I also don’t think he’s necessarily a bad person or a one dimensional character. He obeys orders blindly at times, but he has many other aspects than that, and as I said above he doesn’t just listen to anyone. His blind loyalty does need to be earned.
So if Greer plays the protector as expected, and seems to pick and choose who he feels are good leaders, how is that different than in previous stargate shows?
The problem is that Greer will see anyone as an enemy if ordered to - when the scientists who are typically protected by military characters in stargate canon stage a coup that seems not only logical but legitimate in its reasoning, he no longer sees them as his people to be protected - they are now enemies.
He seems to dislike them intensely, at times trying to intimidate them (without being ordered to) or making them aware he’s watching them for punishable behavior. He’s sometimes shown following them around the ship, looking for something to prove they are going to rebel again - that they are truly enemies. Even military people aren’t safe - once Telford is revealed as a mole, and thus an enemy, he is willing to stand by as young seems to torture and kill him - even stopping people trying to save him by force.
We also see, when he is under the hallucinogenic affects of the tick, that once his beliefs that the scientists are conspiring actively again are confirmed, he takes drastic action almost immediately.
Of course, we do have remember he is under the affect of an unknown substance.
However, how and why he takes violent action is revealing:
He follows rush and Camille, the leaders of the conspiracy from before, and has previously thought he saw them doing unsavory actions. Once he sees rush act “guilty” - simply by running away - he leaps into action, and violent action.
He follows rush, and then closes him, Camille, and himself into a room and destroys any way for them to get the door open again.
However, I want to stress he is not doing this because he feels like it - we are explicitly shown that he is hallucinating young on his radio, giving him orders that lead to this behavior.
Young, or what he believes to be young, essentially orders him to imprison and interrogate rush and Camille. Camille is already injured at this point and he either cannot not see it because of the substance, or chooses not to acknowledge it. Otherwise, whether this intended interrogation includes active violence and straight out torture is never clear. However, “young” also tells him that he is allowed and even encouraged to kill her if needed, and he doesn’t seem to hesitate at this.
His blind following of orders in the end not only encourages him to allow immoral behavior, but leads to him threatening the very people he’s supposed to protect!
He’s a great example of how the stargate protector trope could go wrong, and I love watching him grow throughout the show.

“Japs Launch Offensive,” Border Cities Star. December 1, 1932. Page 2. ---- Determined to Recapture Part of Manchuria Which Rebelled ---- Northwest Area ---- Chinese Taken by Surprise As Nipponese Take Field Again ---- By Associated Press CHANGCHUN, Manchuria, Dec. 1 - Japanese forces set out on the frozen, snow-covered plains of northwest Manchuria today in an announced effort to wipe out the Chinese rebel forces under General Su Ping-Wen, even though the lives of 150 Japanese hostages may be jeopardized.
JAP OBJECTIVE THE objective of the Japanese will be the recapture of almost one-fourth of Manchuria, lying against the Soviet border, and the annihilation of forces allied with General Su, numbering probably 30,000.
The Japanese vanguard of cavalry and infantry rode over the frozen terrain in motor trucks northward from Taitsihar, the famous outpost city that sheltered the late Chinese general, Mah Chan Shan, so long in 1931.
The advance contingent reached Chalaneun last night. 90 miles northwest of Taitsihar. The main body of troops was some distance behind, bivouacking for the night at Chantzushan.
SURPRISE CHINESE The first fighting occurred just before dawn yesterday near Pulaerchi, north of the Chinese Eastern Railway, when the Japanese guards surprised the Chinese force under General Chang Tien-Chu, one of General Su's lieutenants.
The Japanese said in every brush so far they had emerged victorious, the Chinese retreating. The advance was facilitated by the frozen roads, but the sub-zero weather common to the Manchurian winter worked hardships on the troops.
General Su last fall renounced his allegiance to the new Manchurian state of Manchukuo, and defied the Japanese army to come and get him. He entrenched himself west of the great Khingan mountains, and took over the city of Manchuli, the Chinese Eastern Railway's border city leading into Soviet Russia.
CAPTURED 300 The Chinese general captured more than 300 Japanese. He has released all but 150 through the good offices of the Soviet Government. Although the Japanese said General Su had agreed to meet then and negotiate differences, they lasted his "stubborn attitude" compelled them to take steps to punish him, even though the action should endanger the lives of hir Japanese hostages..

For your alignment chart ask game, Lenavee, Radu, and Barclay?
-verkja
Thanks for the asks (these and the yet-unanswered ones lol…)
Lenavee is Neutral Good, tending toward the Chaotic end of the order spectrum and down toward the Neutral part of the morality spectrum.
She was a petty thief and small-time scammer (if only under duress) for most of her childhood, and will lie, steal and manipulate to protect herself and her loved ones. Even her overly deferential way of speaking to and about people with more power than her is as much part of a submissive act as it is something her captors ground into her for years… and is sometimes incredibly backhanded. The traditions and institutions she respects are those of her culture, and not even as a form of defiance against the occupying forces (as it has become for many Hiukree rebels).
Morality-wise, she’s at a base level benevolent, and is a lot of people’s Mom Friend. She’ll throw herself under the bus for someone she loves knowing that they won’t ever know or recognize what she did. BUT. Put her and hers in danger or anything close, and you might find yourself drinking poisoned coffee or locked inside a washing machine.
Radu is solidly Lawful Good, though not the most extremely so of either quality.
As a heavily-conditioned whumpee (especially post-wipe), he’ll generally do what either his whumpers or his caretaker(s) tell him to the best of his ability, even if it hurts him. There’s quite a bit of fear there, of both punishment and abandonment, but there’s also genuine respect for anyone who protects him… or at least tells him they’re doing so. A significant exception to this is his protecting another, younger whumpee against his whumper… which led to him being wiped.
He’s almost a total cinnamon roll, of the variety that wouldn’t even hurt someone in self-defense. But. His loyalty to people he cares about can push him to do intentional harm. The example of this that’s come up so far is purposely mistranslating someone’s statements about one of his former whumpers’ good actions to say that said whumper had done the speaker harm. Granted, Radu did this to make sure that the person in question couldn’t do any more harm, and he didn’t know that the guy would get tortured because of what he said, but he could’ve guessed that it would’ve ended badly for the person he was framing.
Barclay is True Neutral. He drifts all over the place depending on his circumstances, but he never fully and permanently shifts alignment.
Anyone with power who gives him the time of day has his utmost respect, and he’ll do (or not do) a lot to prove himself and stay in their good graces. Throughout his early adulthood, he’d be the type to say he’s just following orders. At the same time, he does have lines he won’t cross, and will engage in minor, hidden forms of disobedience to avoid doing so. Meanwhile, he’s got huge impulse control problems. This leads him to disrespect authority figures or systems that have wronged or misjudged him, under the logic that if he can’t win, he might as well do whatever he wants and give the haters the finger while he’s at it.
As this suggests, Barclay tends to be as good or bad as the people around him and/or their expectations of him. When he’s working in the labs, both Director Richardson’s expectations that he be ruthless with subjects and the disdain of more ethical staff and subjects lead him to become the worst version of himself - cutthroat, bullying, and explosive in temper. When he’s eventually rescued/released from ten years of captivity and torture, though, his rescuers’ belief that he inherently belongs as a worthy member of his found family makes him act his best to deserve that respect… though still with the occasional reactive outburst.

Chapter 13-2 Water and Fire's Sharp Edges (水火鋒芒)
Chapter 13-1
.
.
.
The crowd searched the river in an organized manner. Chen Qi and I wouldn't relent, so none of the Black Cloud Riders dared to stop.
Nothing. Chen Qi was visibly becoming more and more anxious. I held his hand and squeezed it.
Princess: It's okay, I'm here with you.
Just then, a troop of horsemen arrived from afar - the Imperial Guard. The person they were escorting, walking hurriedly, was... Wang Jue.
Chen Qi beside me suddenly had a murderous look in his eyes. The vulnerability of a moment ago had completely disappeared, and a heavy darkness almost swallowed him whole.
Chen Qi: You've arrived just in time. The commander of the Imperial Guard missed the opportunity for battle. Black Cloud Riders, listen to my order -- punish him according to military law, kill without mercy.
Black Cloud Riders: Yes!!
Commander of Imperial Army: ... Young Master Chen, please calm down, your subordinate was unable to provide timely support, I was indeed held back... When I arrived, General Chen Xiu had already fallen from his horse...
Chen Qi looked at him coldly, with no intention of withdrawing his order. The long-suppressed anger of the Black Cloud Riders was triggered, and their icy killing intent was chilling.
The Imperial Guard was also shaken by the aura of Chen Qi and the Black Cloud Riders, but some fearless ones still stepped forward and stood in front of their commander.
Imperial Soldier B: The Imperial Guard is His Majesty's personal guard. Although it was temporarily led by General Chen Xiu, it's not appropriate for Young Master Chen to overstep his authority here, is it?
Chen Qi: Not appropriate? This man received a military order to guard the almost deserted southwest gate, but delayed going to the main gate to reinforce General Chen ---
Chen Qi: I want to ask, is this military order appropriate?!
With a swoosh, a cold light flashed from its scabbard. Chen Qi's sword was placed on the commander's neck.
Chen Qi: No matter who issued this military order, I must get to the bottom of this today!
These words were clearly meant for Wang Jue. No matter what, it was overstepping, but I didn't blame him for acting this way.
If the grief in Chen Qi's heart did not turn into anger and vent, I'm afraid it would burn him up.
Imperial Soldier B: Young Master Chen, think twice, don't make another mistake!
Chen Qi: The internal traitor colluded with the rebels and delayed the battle. I am eliminating this harm for the country, for those soldiers who died in battle. What's wrong with that?
Black Cloud Riders: Eliminate this harm for the country, never back down!
Imperial Soldier B: You, you are disobeying the imperial decree like this, could it be that you are rebelling?
Wang Jue: Silence!
Before I could speak, Wang Jue stepped out from behind the others. His eyes were cold, no longer the usual innocence and naivety.
Wang Jue: I'm very sorry about General Chen --- but he hasn't been found yet. Young Master Chen, isn't it too hasty to make trouble now?
Wang Jue: Moreover, wherever the sun and moon shine, it is the king's land.
Wang Jue: Even in Dacheng, generals cannot arbitrarily dispose of prisoners of war... Auntie, am I right?
Wang Jue looked at me, and although Chen Qi didn't withdraw his weapon, he didn't take any further action. They were both waiting for my decision.
Princess: General Chen Xiu defended our country, he was loyal and righteous.
Princess: Chen Qi is anxious for his family, this is human nature, I don't think he is wrong.
Wang Jue: Auntie, you...
Wang Jue was stunned, he seemed to not expect that I would stand by Chen Qi's side so firmly. Hearing my words, Chen Qi actually turned his wrist, really about to strike the commander!
Princess: Wait!
I grabbed Chen Qi's wrist in time and spoke softly.
Princess: Keeping him alive and finding out the truth of this matter is more useful than killing him.
Princess: You know I'm right. Finding the people behind this and making them pay the price is the true revenge for Chen Xiu.
Chen Qi: ...I'll listen to you.
Chen Qi finally nodded and sheathed his sword. Fortunately, even at this moment, he was not completely controlled by his emotions.
Chen Qi: Take him to the Prison and await interrogation.
Black Cloud Rider B: Yes, sir!
Wang Jue didn't try to stop it again. He knew very well that this was Chen Qi's biggest concession.

[waning, no relation with this blog as a whole]
Mortarion
...
The planet thanks to the Death Lords was forever consumed into a toxic air and into enormus mountains artificially made to be home of the Death Lords, of course, the more big the mountain, the more powerful was the Death lord in question
Humans civilization on the planet was reduced into little villages that prayed every day to get out of this hell, because if you were used by a Death lord not only you will suffer in life but also death
The soldiers of the Death Lords were twisted abominations made with the literal flesh and souls of humans, unwarped beasts that only knew how to cry (imagine "i have no mouth and i must scream" ending but a planetary level), this creatures were pretty much unkillable so they were most likely to be humans of centuries old trapped into this bodies
...
It would be in this place where the most powerful Death lord could one day get out of its mountain and start hunting humans, comun practice between death lords
It was one day when the Death Lord could hear a cry, the death lord facinated followed the cry and it encounter a child covered in flesh and flames, Mortarion, at first the Death lord thought in killing the baby and adding his soul to the collection but then another idea passed for its mind, a child that was not only alive but seemed like it could defeat even a beast like those of that place, this was a gold opportunity for its entertainment, the only thing its race whised
That child could be its son, Mortarion was given its name, not at the hands of the human but those of the Death
Once he took the child, the Death lord started its way back home, to the mountains, here is the thing, with the more you climbed the mountains, the more the toxins and the horrible effects of the planet could make effect, the Death Lord knew this and with purpose it could climb 'til the very point where Mortarion could barely stay alive and there he would build the palace where Mortarion would be raised
Years later, Mortarion would be literally thrown to the beast just to see him suffer, mutilated and later cursed with forgotten sorcery all this by the hands of its adoptive "father" that only searched his so wished entertainment, it didn't matter how many time could Mortarion tried, every action, every path, every wish that he could have all ripped away and always resulting in a punishment
In the eyes of this Necro Lord, Motarion was just a toy to be used
It is said that in the few records of this time that the eye's of Mortarion were a abyss of insanity like if all the time he was fighting against the horrors that he saw in Barbatus and the memory of his father
This lasted for years of insufferable torment without end, his mind would be destroyed, his body could be toyed and his will, the will of a Primach, would be blocked, didn't really help that Moration's "father" would be the first to discover its gift, "endurance like no other", but as you can guess, in aplace like this, the best thing that could happen was death, and endurance would only make it worse
Mortarion's gift was now a curse for him, and in its father eyes, which gift would lead into even more torture for the boy, a Primach was a being like no other almost something entirely, but he was still a human
His life could change when he first saw a group of villagers being hunted by a group of his father warriors, one boy called Calas Typhon would soon beg for help of the Primach, left them live or left them die, whatever was far better than the destiny that would follow his group if being captured
In the boy's eyes this was a cry for help, for Moratarion, it was the first time he that someone given him the choice, the free to be him to control his actions
Soon Mortarion could trown himself into a battle, winning and saving the lives of the group, deciding to rebel against its father and the other Death Lords
Little to little he could soon reach the trust of the people in hopes of organize a revolt, soon that boy who give him the first choice in his life, Calas Typhon, could become his best friend
Soon they could eventually manage to kill a pair of Necro Lords that considered Mortarion such less of a treat that they could mind its bussines, little could they know it was that Mortarion could trick most of the Necro Lords into battle against themselves
The Primach could start to gain more power with the pass of time (it was weaken by its "father") and soon the rebelion could gain more and more territory
After years of intense war only the last Necro Lord could stand tall against Mortarion, his adoptive father
Soon they have lost almost everyone in the war, but with enough preparation they maybe could take down Mortarion's father, it was then with all this thoughts in the mind of Mortarion that he first meet The Emperor
The Emperor armed with weapons, medicine and all the necesary help to assist Mortarion and kill its adoptive father, the only thing that the Emperor asked out of Mortarion was that he joined the Imperium
Mortarion was furious
Mortarion didn't start a whole revolution against his adoptive father only to go back and serve to another
That day was the culmen of all Mortarion's life, the day he could kill his father and he was NOT gonna fall against a false Emperor
He told the Emperor that he grabed his things and leave his planet, if he truly matter to the Emperor, why didn't he came before?
The Emperor told Mortarion that he could not even understand what he was saying, an entire planet was now in need and if Mortarion thought that he could kill the last Necro Lord by himself so be it
"If by the end of the day, Mortarion could kill the last Necro Lord, then he could forget about the Emperor, he could leave and never come back"
Mortarion accepted the deal, he didn't have to, he just did it out of pride and anger against the Emperor
Mortarion could take his best squad and go to kill the last Necro Lord, soon he could realize his mistake, they were not prepared for this heights, not even the Primach could stand much longer like that
Mortarion could eventually manage its way into the top but he was so consumed by the pain that he was in the floor uncable of moving
Soon he could see its adoptive father get close to him, he was aiming to get Mortarion's soul, before the final strike, Mortarion could only see as the Necro Lord was impaled by the Emperor's sword, finally killing the last Necro Lord, Mortarion's father
Mortarion before passing out was savied and later, as a man of honor he could make his word, he would serve the Emperor

Characters in my creepypasta AU (kind of in order of importance)
(link to my other post about this AU)
keep in mind this AU started as a PJO crossover, so in reality Leo Valdez is the main character, but I'm trying really hard to make this exclusively creepypasta for at least these posts lol
Toby: Proxy for about 5 years, so he's 21 in my AU. He's very different from the other proxies for multiple reasons. He's the only one with clear memories of his past, the only one where the Operator didn't force him to perform his first kill, and the only one that seems to actively enjoy working for the Operator. He doesn't regret any of his actions, definitely not. He definitely deserves any punishment the Operator gives him, who is he to go against the will of his god? He's happy like this. He doesn't need anything else, he's fine killing people, he's fine working for the Operator.
Jack: He's one of the Forest Dwellers and was found by the Operator about 3 years ago. In exchange for his medical services and loyalty, the Operator provided him a roof over his head and a relatively safe place to stay. Jack doesn't really like the Operator, but there's nowhere that he could live anywhere near as comfortably in the human world, so he sticks around. He gets along with Toby, and they eventually get together (yes this AU is ticcijack shush). After seeing how the Operator treats Toby and the other proxies, he becomes the second person to join the rebellion and becomes kind of like the guy on the inside
Kate: She's been a proxy for about 12 years, since she was 7 years old. It's honestly a miracle that she hasn't gone faceless yet, but in recent years the process has started. Her mouth is almost always covered in a pale, membrane-like skin, and that skin sometimes spreads over her eye as well. Brian and Tim have basically given up on her, but Toby's determined to keep her around. He hangs out with her a lot, coming up with insane shit for them to do every day, cutting off the skin when he can, basically just keeping up her will to live. She fades in and out of consciousness a lot, but she appreciates how much Toby does for her, he and Jack are pretty much the only people she talks to anymore.
Liu: He doesn't live in the Forest at all, instead living in a small apartment on the edge of a forest to give him easy access to the Forest. He's the creator of the rebellion. He created it after Jeff became one of the Forest Dwellers, convinced that the Operator was the one to turn Jeff into the person he is now. Jeff just needs help, and the Operator is the one keeping him from getting that help, he believes. He's also technically a ghost/spirit, with his unfinished business being getting his brother help and seeing him recover. Whether he'll ever actually achieve this is hard to say.
Lazari: She's a recent Forest Dweller, which Jack ended up adopting as a daughter/little sister. Her role in the story isn't super developed, I just thought Jack and Toby trying to raise her semi-normally was cute, and she also helps Toby begin to lose his mindset of worshipping the Operator a little bit
Brian/Hoodie: He's been a proxy for about 7 years now. After dying in Marble Hornets, the Operator basically brought him back to life and trapped him in the Forest, unable to leave unless the Operator is possessing him. Him and Tim tried to rebel for the first few years, but they eventually gave up, becoming apathetic to their condition and just doing what they can to help the younger proxies survive. When he finds out about the plans for rebellion forming he does what he can to help, but the Operator watches/possesses him a lot so he has to stay at least slightly out of the loop.
Tim/Masky: Also a proxy for about 7 years now, his backstory's basically the same as Brian's. After Marble Hornets the Operator traps him in the forest like Brian. Tim's kind of the Operator's favorite body, so he's possessed by the Operator much more often than anyone else. His part in the story isn't super fleshed out atm, but all the other proxies are at least slightly afraid of him, mostly just because they never know when the Operator is inside his head watching them
Ben: One of the Forest Dwellers, he watches the cameras set up throughout the forest in exchange for company and a place to hang out in his physical form. He's an annoying, nerdy-ass 12 year old in my AU, and he doesn't really care about much aside from his playing card/video game/monster energy can collections, so he ends up being won over by the rebellion pretty easily when they offer him some hard-to-get playing cards
Natalie/Clockwork: She doesn't have a big role now but I want to make her a lot more important. atm she's Toby's ex and used to be a Proxy or Forest Dweller before managing to escape the Operator and running away. She tried to convince Toby to come with her, but he refused to go against the Operator, leading to them technically breaking up. I'm thinking of making her part of the rebellion and acting in a similar role as Liu, but I might also change things to have her still be a Forest Dweller and make the AU a Toby/Clockwork/Jack sort of thing, we'll see lol
Jeff: One of the Forest Dwellers, he kills for the Operator in exchange for protection and a roof over his head. His only real role in the story is motivation for Liu, but he hangs out with Toby and Jack a decent amount, he's still on the Operator's side when the rebellion happens tho because he cares more about having a cabin than having friends lol
Sally: One of the Forest Dwellers, she's technically under Jeff's care, but she ends up spending more time around Jack and Toby than anyone else because of Lazari. Doesn't have a very big role
Cody/X-Virus: Still not sure if I'm adding him to my AU, I don't know much about him honestly. The only reason I'd add him is because it'd make the number of conscious proxies 6, with each one having their "twin." It's like how in MH Masky and Hoodie are called twins sometimes. Toby and Leo are twins, so in my AU Kate's twin would be Cody if I decide to add him
I also really want to add Nina to my AU somewhere but I have no idea where she'd fit in T-T her character's been really growing on me recently and I would love to add her somewhere, but these are the characters that I know are in my AU at the moment
maybe I'll get into the PJO crossover stuff later when I'm not feeling as cringe about it but we'll see :)
