FDA Revokes Authorization of Brominated Vegetable Oil (BVO) in Food! FDA announced the revocation of the regulation allowing the use of brominated vegetable oil (BVO) in food. Recent studies with the NIH found BVO poses potential health risks. The FDA, which regulated BVO since 1970, is taking this step as part of its commitment to food safety.
