The total production of Metallurgical grade fluorspar accounts for 35% to 40% and has key applications in the production of steel and cement. While the acid-grade fluorspar constitutes the remaining 60% to 65% of total fluorspar production and is widely used for the manufacturing of aluminum and hydrofluoric acid (HF). HF acid has applications in electrical and electronic appliances, lithium-ion batteries, refrigerant gases, and propellants, among others.
