#Flora: Medicinal Salvebrush

Was on the Zero Dawn remaster and was reminded of one thing that I wish carried over into Forbidden West: The medicinal plant varieties. In Forbidden West, we have three kinds: Medicinal Skybrush (overworld), Medicinal Bright Omen (caves/cauldrons), and Medicinal Waterweed (underwater).However, in Zero Dawn, we have 7 (though I’m only showing the overworld ones tonight)

This is Medicinal Hintergold. It is a common plant, often found near footpaths, and it restores 10% health. The closest real world equivalent I can find would be the poppy, which makes sense as the petals have been used for mild pain relief.

Next we have the Medicinal Valley’s Blush. It’s a fairly common plant, often found in open fields, and restores 12% health. The closest real world equivalent I can find seems like Fireweed, a plant with high anti-inflammatory potency.

This is Medicinal Ochrebloom. We’re getting a bit more rare here, but like Hintergold, it’s commonly found by footpaths, though it’s able to restore 16% health. It bears a striking resemblance to the Scarlet Gilia, which has been used to prevent blood diseases.

As for plants in the colder areas, we have Medicinal Salvebrush, an uncommon plant found in snowy regions, that heals 15% health. It’s also the first healing item used in the tutorial. As for real world equivalent, I struggled a bit but I want to say the Netleaf Willow is my closest guess. This is also another plant that has been used for pain relief.

And finally we have Medicinal Fresh Salvebrush. This is a Frozen Wilds exclusive plant, and it’s only found in the cut. I can assume it’s an early version of the Salvebrush as well. It restores close to 20% health, making it one of the strongest options in-game.

On a side note, I am done with finals and things can finally start picking back up again. (OST analysis will be back next week too!)
