Guess who has Hope’s little journal and is leafing through it, while Hope is away? Yeah, Chris does and he can’t help but chuckle at some of the things in here. There’s a lot of childish stuff in there about monsters along with half finished compositions. He can’t tell if it’s pathetic or adorable.

The almost-teen is clearly elated to know that there was a task specifically for her! It was no secret that Hope loved to help around and she always went to who she could to see if she could help.

She couldn’t help running in, gently taking the folders and giving Joey a hug.

“Of course I can!! Thanks, Uncle Drew!! There anything else you need after? That way I can do it right away, too!”

The hair ruffle gets a giggle out of Hope, her hugging the journal to her chest for a moment before cheerfully adding. “I couldn’t have done it without you and everyone else!”

A pause as she tried to lean a little bit and sneak a peek at what Henry was working on. “I still got a lotta work to do, though. D’ya know what I should try working on next?”

It’s a blink of surprise that comes from the almost-teenager as she whirled around to face the voice. Indeed there was one of Joey’s books in her hands, gripped tightly as if it could hold a cure for a disease.

Had this demon seen it when she’d come in. “Uhm....”

“I... I know. I wasn’t intending on using it like a toy. One of my best friends is very sick and.... and he’s not human... See?” There’s a turn back to the infirmary bed, and a small whimper from the child. She’d been worried, she knew her friend was sick and had been told not to look. But she was a big girl; she knew what sick looked like.

“I’ve been looking to see if there’s something that could help him... I thought it was a good idea, since human medicine can’t work.”

“I don’t get why you say all these adults are like family to you. Are you related or something?”

“No, but they-”

“Then you’re just being rude, loser. You can’t say that about strangers you barely know or the posters and plushies here. The latter is just weird.”

“It is? But-”

“Of course it is! Fuck, and here I thought you couldn’t get any freakier. The others aren’t going to believe this, at this point....”

“Oh.... this wasn’t here before.” Penny had come across a tripwire set up on the breakroom stairs, very similar to Hope’s pranks, and had almost stepped on it. Thankfully she caught it in time and had stepped over it, before glancing around the room.

She had literally just left the room to take a coffee to a storyboarder, and had come back to that. No one was in here, from what she could see, but... It had to be young Hope, right? “Little Miss Ray? Sweetheart... are you in here? This really isn’t the safest place to set a trap up, hon...”

No response from the blonde. Was she not in here, anymore. 

Now she had to loo around, once the glorified maid was on the breakroom floor. “.....Hello? Miss Ray...? Anyone...? How am I supposed to clean this up?”

Hope has been up for an hours, curled up under a breakroom table and shaking. She’d had a nghtmare, once again and didn’t want to annoy her sister, or anyone else around in the early morning. So, why not do what she usually does?

“I’ll be really quick, I promise. Uh... We’re dong an assignment in school and have to give a presentation on characters in TV or books that we like and uh... I’m doing you guys...”

Hope fumbles with her hands a bit, biting at her lip before continuing. “I realised I dunno a lot about you other than here in the studio, so I wanted ta ask ya something in regards to you and the show...”

“We gotta do a section on motives and backstory and I was wonderin’ why ya decided to work for the doctor... like in the show?”

Oh gosh... He had been busy? Maybe she should have stayed in hiding for a while longer. It was a little late to go back and hide now, however; especially with the weight of those wings on her back.

“I’m sorry.... I didn’t mean to bug ya, I.... I just didn’t know who else to go to.....” Maybe it  was best to get this done faster now. The last thing Hope wanted was to be an annoyance. “I... I just woke up, this morning, and these appeared soon after....”

“I’m scared, Uncle Bendy..... I dunno what’s going on...”

Hope had heard that shriek and had honestly jumped. There was only one thing that could come to mind at that and it was a good thing that Chris was around. He’s the one keeping Hope from sprinting to find her friend.

“Stick here. The adults got it....” Hopefully....

“Everyone seems kinda excited or slow-y today. Did something happen...?” Hope can tell something is going on, but doesn’t quite understand it.

“Well, since you guys aren’t human, and I dunno if you guys have body heat, I thought it would be nice if ya had something warm. So you’re not as cold, at night or when the weather gets really bad and studio heating isn’t enough.”

(Inkgluttony) Did Bubba see Hope being sassy? Yes. Is he proud? “That’s my Hope right there! You’re doin’ amazing, Sweetie!” Hell yes.

Of course she’s going to take a bow, giggling the whole time. The kid is definitely coming out of her shell and becoming her own person. Slowly but surely.

Calling Grant, Sammy or Tom that? Are you sure they just wouldn't be grumpier with a hyper brat calling them that? It kind of seems like a death wish...
