no bc when you stop and think about the full implications of fitz and the fool calling each other “beloved” you do have to go a little crazy. it’s required. because what do you mean that 6 sentences after fitz thinks, “being fitz had never been that enticing an existence” the fool summons him back to himself by calling him “beloved” and renewing their bond. what do you mean fitz refers to this as “burning my identity into me.” what do you mean “the word echoed through me, rebounded me from my fraying edges, found and bound me.” what do you mean. are you not going insane.

remember when fitz said in fool's assassin that it had taken him YEARS to accept beloved wasn't coming back? that he had waited for him, some part of his soul still dangling? waited like a dog told to sit and stay? that he had slowly begun to believe beloved didn't care about him anymore? that only after that did he really start to mourn? that he had obsessed over it for years, trying to excuse it? that he had chewed on one single line beloved had left him over and over and over, even going as far to question their friendship? that the scar of beloved's absence never healed? that the act of trying to understand his life years earlier turned into the act of trying to understand beloved? that he was never whole again after beloved left? that he likened the loss of beloved to nighteyes' death multiple times? remember that? yeah.

Finished Assassin's Fate a few weeks ago and I have many thoughts but can't properly put them into words so have some art instead.

I'm loving elliania's energy in F&F lol. She exposes the farseers generation long family secrets in front of the whole court because she's done with their bullshit. She's best friends with Nettle. You can count on her to give the most violent solution to a problem. She's mourning for bee like a mother wolf for her cub. If it was up to her, she would send whole armies to pull down clerres. She tells fitz to bring back a kerchief soaked in his enemies blood so she may bury them in her homeland and their souls never know peace. Fitz is convinced that if he lets her and beloved get into an alliance it will explode clerres and maybe the world. And I for one would love to see that happen.
