Hello! I know you said the emperor takes the form of Vat’il’s mom, how does he react when finding out the dream guardian is a mind flayer? Does he ever find out that the form the emperor was his mom? I love Vat’il and live for the angst of people having the dream guardian look like someone from their character’s past

If not for the fact that The Emperor is the only thing keeping everyone from turning into a mindlfayer and dying (which its being honest about, I checked snsnsnsjjsjs) Vat’il would’ve killed it on the spot. (He certainly threatens to)

Their relationship never really recovers from that. :> (He stomps on the astral tadpole- which The Emperor offered more to his brother than him- he just slaps it out of Tav’ilin’s hands and steps on it)

As far as him finding out that The Emperor was masquerading as his mom, I’m not sure if he ever finds that out! He does ask The Emperor about who she was, but it doesn’t know- it’s just someone he’d trust/not want to hurt.

I’ve toyed around with him figuring out that it was his mom, but so far that’s really only for a Bad Timeline Vat’il (Sceleritas knows who she is and could connect the dots for Vat’il if pressed to do so)

Introductory | Masterpost

I'm usually not the most active member of a fandom I focus on but between having been a TTRPG game for (now) most of my life and the fact how but Larian's last RPG got me to actively participate is a miracle tbh (the perfect part of my brain has been tickled). Now - I know my writing leaves a lot to be desired AND I am a terrible artist but lil Val has become very dear to me so why not try my hand at running a side blog for as long as I can?

Val started as a DnD character in very early lockdown - a girl I was at the time friends with invited me to their online game and while it was fun, the fact that all of them were in a different city than me resulted in the "online" part of the game to quickly disappear - despite lockdown procedures.

But I still liked this little tiefling, her design was used here in there in my sketches and I even created an OOAK doll of her back when I was still doing that (might return one day, need prepare working space first). When I stumbled onto EA for BG3 I used her as the initial character (for the sake of EA she was a warlock as sorcerers have not been added yet - and had a mop of wild dreadlocks). Even now, in Patch 8 I replay her character every once in a while - making the same decisions as always but I just like what I made of her.

I am fully aware that not everybody likes his character (heck, I think the majority does not trust him) but I really got invested in the dynamic between him and Val. No, it is not healthy. No I cannot say how it will end but yes - I am already compiling a sequel to the story I'm writing. I treat Daisy (the EA Visitor) as a separate entity. I wish we could have gotten feedback from Larian on what was the plans for them but for now I stick to the headcanon that it is the tadpole in Tav/Durge's head.

Reason behind this blog

Not that many really, I think I just wanted a place where I'd be able to post snippets and headcanons and they would be understood in the context of this page.

| Misericorde - Val x Emperor Sometimes even you can forget than under her need to save and tendency to electrify everyone in her vicinity (oftentimes both things not being exclusive) with spouts of wild magic, the tiefling sorcerer is still so very young. TW/CW: Childhood abuse, unhealthy relationships, grooming, manipulation, violence, gore, sex, hints of suicidal ideation? Not beta read, writer is not a native English speaker. Once I finish it I plan to edit it, maybe try to fix some plotholes - maybe add some more story here and there, flesh it out. Alternating POV. | Snippets - short writings set in Misericorde but things that might not fit the flow of the fic itself.

| Prompts - mostly from the Astral Campfire community, unless I see something that will inspire me | Photo - photos and screenshots from the game I found especially pleasing and just want to add them. May or may not have additional snippets. Photo mode might be used to recreate some past "adventures" Val had and show people from her life.
