"If you want me to go somewhere, I can." Finley added as he knew there were appearances they needed to uphold. "Give me a little notice and I can figure out work." He said as it wasn't impossible to him to work a schedule out. It wasn't as though he couldn't just bring his phone and manage stuff from away if he needed to. Finley just wanted to show Hattie that he was willing to try. "Lets get ourselves some pizza then." Finley added as that was one of his go-to foods during his party years.

“Hm.. I guess that is good to know. Worse case scenario I can just go by myself or with friends..” She shrugged slightly back at him. She knew her duties had to be fulfilled, but she had never pictured herself to be a part of a loveless marriage, though she feared it was where all of this were headed. Especially since he worked so much and they hardly got to see one another. “Hm.. I wouldn’t mind a burger?” She said, “Or pizza?” She added, “I think I need something greasy to soak up all the alcohol to not feel too rough in the morning.”

Finley sat in his office at the hotel with his pants around his ankles. He was in the process of jerking himself off. He let out a low moan as he got close to his release. What Finley had failed to realize is that he hadn’t actually locked his door, which became very apparent when someone walked in. Finley was immediately glad that his desk covered his junk, but he was sure it was still obvious what he’d been doing. “Can I help you with something?” He asked the person who’d just entered the room. His hand still on his member as he tried to figure out the best way to handle this situation.

Finley looked at the gingerbread pieces in front of them before he turned to Eloise with a small shrug. “I will be honest with you, I have no idea where to even start.” He said, as he was much better at eating these things than he was at making them.  “Maybe we need to start with icing the base or something?”

"Look, there are things about you that I can predict. As unpredictable as you can be, there are still things about you that I am able to call from a mile away." Finley said as he had gotten used to things in their current state. "I can rely on you to be a listening ear, and sometimes that is all I need." Finley said with a small shrug as he didn't ask for too much. He was a simple man when it came down to it if she hadn't figured that out, they were in trouble.

Finley raised his eyebrow at Ivette's comment. "Who just plays around with a harpoon? That doesn't seem like the type of thing that most people just have lying around." He said as he tried to fathom the series of events that had the man ending up in the ER. Finley had been known to do a stupid thing every now and again, but nothing that bad. "Did you get the sink stuff sorted out without having to pay a fee? You should have called me and I could have come and sorted it out for you." Fin said as he'd dealt with clogged sinks in his early days on working in the hotel business.

"Exactly, me being perfectly reasonable is the most predictable thing in the world," she half-teased. Of course, she was joking. Ivette was not known for her reasonable reactions, emotions always ran high with her. But, she liked to think that their friendship was solid enough that she would put more effort into being understanding, like she was now. "Well, I try" she conceded with a shrug. She unpacked the food and placed one of the takeout containers in front of him.

A brow raised at his answer, not much to share? What was this mystery, or was it all in her head? Ivette tried to shrug it off, opting to share what she'd learn before they were reduced to some awkward silence. "Busy bee here, yeah mostly work. I saw the weirdest thing in the ER last week, this guy came in with a harpoon stuck in his foot. Swore he was just messing with it, but yeah that was odd. Oh my god, and not work-related but my kitchen sink was flooding the other day? And my landlord was trying to blame me, so he could charge me the maintenance fee. So annoying, but yeah just weird things going on."

Finley nodded his head at Ceylan because he did understand that it wasn't that she did it on purpose. He just also thought that she might have more control over it than she seemed to think. Finley knew it was for her own good not to fall for everyone. "I think you just need to remind yourself that not everyone is necessarily good for you." Finley added as some people had poor intentions. "If you remember that, you can convince yourself not to fall for everyone until you know if they are good people."

“It’s not like it’s by choice.” Even if Ceylan didn’t think it was the worst possible outcome that could happen, it certainly felt better than hating nine out of ten people you met after all. She wasn’t purposefully setting out to do it. It just happened. “Although, I guess I can see your point. I just don’t know how to stop it from happening. Any ideas?” It wasn’t like she could tell people to stop being nice, but maybe Finley had a better idea. After all, he didn’t seem to fall in love with everyone who was nice to him - whatever he was doing had to be working for him.

Finley shook his head at her. "Nobody can truly turn their feelings off, not forever." He added as he knew eventually they would just come bubbling up for the surface. Humans were creatures that depended so much on what they were feeling. He was hurt by her words. "I'm not naïve. You are the one who is naïve if you really think you can turn off your feelings to hide from them."

" of course i do. if i didn't, why would i bring it up? " there wasn't a shred of fear in her words, though, looking at him only brought some type of shame -- shame she shouldn't feel, of all things. " you think i can't turn them off? i can, that's the thing that's different between us, " another sentence spoken before she slowly gives up on the conversation : on giving up on him. " you can doubt me all you want, finley, but there's nothing i could ever feel for someone as naïve as you are. "

Finley let out a small hum. "Nice to meet you, Claudia." He said, although they'd been running into each other enough that it wasn't as though this was actually the first time that they were meeting. "I have no intention of following you." Finley assured her as it was just a coincidence that they kept running into each other. "To be honest with you, I am just trying to find the best bar in town." He added as Finley was pretty new to the area. He'd moved here to manage a hotel that his parents had recently purchased.

dia rolled her eyes once more, but gave a light laugh on the side. "claudia, but everyone calls me dia." she offered. he didn't seem that bad, she was just bitter about anyone approaching her out in public. you would think she was some sort of celebrity the way it happened, but her mother always used to say that she was just to charismatic for her own good. of course, there was always a sense of disdain, of hatred in her voice when she said it. "it's nice to meet you, finley. please, don't actually follow me from bar to bar." she said, her smile showing that she got that it was a joke.

Finley looked around at their surroundings. "I don't know if you've noticed, but nobody is coming."

"Now that I know I will act accordingly." Finley said as he wanted for his girlfriend to be comfortable. "It's okay, I don't mind. You don't have to give me a pet name if it isn't your thing." He said as that sort of thing didn't matter to Finley. While he was the type of give pet names himself it wasn't a dealbreaker if she wasn't. He was still just enjoying getting to know Harlow and how her brain worked. "I am just glad you are comfortable enough to have this conversation with me."
