Möbius FF: “Wol doesn’t give a fuck”
That’s the “affectionate” title I gave to this set of screenshots below lmao
Came back to the game after a long time, and thought I would share this little jewel of a scene~ I’d finished Chapter 4 Part 1, and since it seems that Season 1 will soon come to an end in the global version too, I’m going to see if I can play more soon. I saw the trailer and I’m so excited to know what happens!
Also this means I'll probably go back to talk about the game and to sketch my Möbius FF babies, including more Woland too (still love that pairing although, lo and behold, I’ve started to care for Sarah and now I kinda ship her and Wol too)!
“Uh... Sure.”
“Hmmmmmmm... Kinda sounds like bullshit but...”
“Okay, let’s ask first just in case...”
“Oh. Then you’re... just a asshole. Got it.”
“How ‘bout no?” *changes subject like a boss*
I love my sassy Wol please Square-Enix allow him (and Garland) to be in Dissidia NT and/or Dissidia Opera Omnia abkdnglgs
Best thing is that, straight after that, Wol justs plainly asks Garland if what Vox said about him is true. I love this lmao (and, honestly I can picture Vox going into an internal high-pitched frustrated scream because of this).
(Also if anyone out there likes Möbius FF and wants someone to talk about it, I’m up for it! I love this game! ♥♥♥)

Excerpt from my new fantasy novel, Möbius’ Code, which will be available online and in print by the end of February. For status updates, please follow my blog.
That evening Jennifer sat in her pottery shop, looking out the window at the olive grove and wondering what to do next. This business of being and not being at the same time was proving more difficult than she would have envisioned, if in her sleepy little life she’d ever considered the possibility of getting stranded in this existential way station with trains in all directions, which she didn’t. She had to consider why she never asked more of her life, and the only answer she could come up with was that she couldn’t aspire to things she didn’t know existed. She also wondered how much more of this there was that she couldn’t conceive of, things that might be interesting and worth spending time on, surely more interesting than making yet another Etruscan amphora. Working things back into the past wasn’t her cup of tea. If she could work stuff back into the past, she’d rather have done something about the time she had wasted on earth.
Where does one find answers to questions one doesn’t know how to formulate yet? Well, the library, of course.
There is this thing about boring people, they always have some skills, passions or interests nobody cares about, but which always seem to come in handy when need arises. Jennifer was a library rat. When she was very young she used to spend so much time there people mistook her for the staff, and so, to avoid the awkwardness of having them apologize to her for the confusion, she learned the library system and answered their questions with reasonable accuracy, and that knowledge was just about to come in handy right now.
Sure the Akashic records were not your run of the mill local branch, but they were a library after all, how different could they be?
The thought of finally doing something new, and entirely pottery free, felt so exciting to Jennifer that she didn’t stop to question how she was going to get there, to those archives to which she was supposedly connected, or if they were an actual physical reality, or more of a flood of data which, judging by her current surroundings, she wasn’t capable of processing just yet.
“Well, what’s it going to hurt if I give it a try?” she thought, and focused on the library location with as much intensity as she was capable of, while the kitten clambered up her leg and pinched her with its tiny but very sharp claws. “I wonder if I’m allowed to bring a cat into the library,” was Jennifer’s last thought before opening her eyes to find herself in a large and somewhat dark reading room surrounded by shelving. The kitten had managed to claw its way off her shoulder and disappeared under a shelf, in search of plunder.
“Wow, it really is a library,” Jennifer was surprised to notice. Of course if Möbius were there, he would have explained to her that places in this realm looked like whatever one expected them to, but for some reason he seemed to be otherwise occupied at the time. “Lucky me, let’s see, where do I want to start?”
She found her way around the Dewey decimal system to the portion of the library that contained her city of birth and plunged into the bowels of the archives to find her school, her parents, any information about her former life.
“Good grief, my life was so pointless even the Akashic records couldn’t summon interest in it, how much further do I have to dig to find myself in existence, I’ve already reached the last shelf and I’m not on it either. Ah, here we go: Jennifer Smith - life range 29, that’s me.”
She expected there to be endless iterations of her alternate lives, at least that’s what Möbius had led her to believe, but there were only a few, and all of them pretty much on the same lines as her actual life.
“At least I don’t have to wonder if I didn’t miss out on actually making something of myself. I so hate Möbius right now, how hard is it to give a person some reason to live, other than wasting breath for twenty nine years!”
She looked around at the vast archive, with shelves after shelves of lives and alternate lives, and was so distressed over being relegated to the dollar bin that she placed her book back on the first shelf she found, without looking at the numbers or anything, who cared anyway. She spent the rest of the day going through other people’s books, covetous of their successes, of their long lives, of their friendships or romances, basically of having anything she never got. In her outrage about being so victimized she of course failed to notice the less palatable aspects of their lives.
She didn’t care anymore about foreknowledge and the consequences it might bring, so she made her way through the library in search of family and friends and the details of their coming years, and emerged from this endeavor with an even deeper sense of futility, firmly attached to her God complex.
“Nobody hardly ever does anything with this blessed life, I wonder why we bother at all.”
Since she was there, she figured maybe she could find something worth wasting time on, something like knowledge about the universe, or things that haven’t been invented yet, the end of time or maybe other intelligent species. After she was done with that she found the restricted section relating to what was before the world came into being and about the nature of God. That section must have been equipped with a presence sensor, because as she exited a row of shelves with her arms filled with the books she was planning to take back to unconstructed space and study at leisure, she found herself face to face with Möbius, who, as usual, seemed upset with her.
“Well, at least there is one reliable component in this ever-changing environment, and that is the fact that no matter what I do, Möbius is going to get mad at me for it.”
“You are not allowed in here, Jennifer, this section is restricted. My head still hurts from all of my bosses’ yelling at me. Could you please put the books down on the table and get out of here? Don’t worry about them, someone will reshelve them later. Someone with the proper credentials,” he frowned displeased.
Möbius, as any entity endowed with reason, had to acknowledge the de facto access one earned by nature of one’s inherent capacity to, well, get in. Besides, he had encouraged Jennifer to visit the library, he just didn’t expect her to rummage through every single one of the restricted sections. How, of all the humans in history, from all the cities and countries in all the world, did he manage to pick this one? For a split second he contemplated the fact that maybe, through means beyond the understanding of even the angelic realm, Jennifer herself was his punishment for drawing her life outside the lines, so to speak; who knew how heavens worked, really, even to the highest of the hosts their workings were nothing but revelation and miracle. The miracle of Jennifer indeed. God must have had a wicked sense of humor.
“Are you happier now, Jennifer? Now that you learned all there is to learn about everything,” Möbius chastised as he walked her to the main reading room, irritated that they had to find the kitten before heading back.
“I’m sure I don’t know everything about everything,” she contradicted him. “There is a section…”
“And nor will you,” Möbius interrupted her, “if there is any mercy in this universe,” he mumbled under his breath while looking under every shelf in search of tiny glowing eyes. “This cursed cat has more access than I do, there must be something wrong with the world.”
“Words of advice, Möbius,” Afael resonated in his head. “Next time you feel particularly creative, refrain.”

NOTE: Updates on the way!
// hey guys! I just sorta realized I'm behind the game with formatting this blog right, and since I'm getting people trickling in from my Final Fantasy VII family from my Genesis blog I think it's about time to get my ass in gear. My goal for the night before I let myself touch Final Fantasy XV is get Ruviks 'about' page done which will be under 'The Muse' and for once I will actually have a verses page!
I will specifically make a Final Fantasy VII verse so I can interact with the new people trickling in that may or may not be familiar with this game. I will also have a 'Dreams of Sunflowers' verse which will be essentially a 'everybody lives nobody dies' verse where the fire never happened, where Laura is alive and well, and Ruvik actually took the time to establish himself and gain a doctorate properly after his sister helped him get actual treatment for his psychopathic/sociopathic disorders. I.e a verse where he's NOT a crazy violent crispy critter reduced to a brain in a jar. He'll be an actual functioning doctor with a background in psychology. (and I already have a face claim picked out!)
I will also have a 'Echoes of Reality' Verse which will essentially mirror 'Dreams of Sunflowers.’ The fire still didn't happen, but Laura died (probably through something with that cult at the Elk Ridge church), and Ruvik never was treated for his delusions and psychopathic tendencies, but he is not working with MÖBIUS to create STEM. Instead he is working on developing it on his own, and eventually ends up with a very portable sort of system, much like what @croik had in their fic ‘A Nail Through a Star’ (mostly because I love the concept and I’m trash) So in this verse the TLDR is Laura is dead, Ruvik told Jimenez to fuck off, and he’s a killer in hiding making his own mind control device. Essentially what probably would have happened if Beacon shot down Marcello’s endorsement of this clearly disturbed kid, and Ruvik never caught the attention of Mobius.

Möbius Final Fantasy: more hyperino
[SPOILERS AHEAD!]
...
...
So, lately I’ve been playing Möbius Final Fantasy a lot, and... Well, I mentioned before I was excited about the game, but that reached new levels yesterday when I finished part 2 of chapter 3.
Chapter 3 was going around the area close to the royal castle, helping people out, earning the Marks of the elements to show your worth before being able to meet princess Sarah in person, and so on... And then WHAM, Chaos appears and things get interesting.
It’s mentioned that Blanks seemed to have a “hole” in their heart they fill doing different things, and then it was also implied/said that they “seek release”... And, well, it got confirmed yesterday, because it also seems that, when they’re close to Chaos and/or about to die, they remember their names and so on.
It was quite a wink to FFIV reading a certain Blank that I liked proclaim he was from Eblan before rushing to charge and dying (poor dude...).
Oh, and also it seems that Garland had been going around doing what he’s doing now with Wol, with other previous Blanks... A captain said a rumour that runs around that Garland eats (or something similar) the souls of Blanks, but well, I’m not giving much credit to that.
But well, heading to the most interesting things...
CHAOS.
Chaos is, like... Not what I was expecting. I was expecting a guy that would be scary and humanoid, and we got this statue that looks like the statue of a sword with a head and a crystal, and he’s TALL AS FUCK, and has an expression that’s weird (and it looks like kinda sad, like as if it’s suffering ot something).
His attacks along with his monsters are devastating, and the part 2 of the chapter 3 you spend it going after him in the area, until the fight comes. Also, you have one or two scenes with Garland, and in one he tells something like that Wol isn’t fated to die that day...
The fight is not that though, and when you finish it, GOD DAMMIT, Chaos just leaves the area, like, letting you live because you’re not fucking worth to be smashed to the ground by him.
But MORE JUICY THINGSSS, and this time concerning Garland!
After the battle with Chaos, he goes to talk to you, and he says Sarah (he didn’t even mention her title) wants to see him. And thus it started a scene that had me, at the same time: surprised, laughing on the inside, seeing it as ironic, feeling suspicious, AND FANGIRLING.
Yes, all at the same time. To sum it up? ... GARLAND IS THE BOSS.
You’re about to go into the castle to meet princess Sarah, and Garland, as ALWAYS, warns you. He says to not let her get to your mind, and then, you talk to a moogle and the scene starts rolling out. You’re in princess Sarah’s room, which is, contrary to the humble things one sees in the game, pretty much beautiful and full of things and decoration.
She’s crying by the time you enter the room (a moment that, by the way, is suspicious, because Wol mentions again that he smelled something “rot” in the room, something that was bothering him in earlier events), but she composes quickly and, well, you have a talk time with her that reveals that, after slaying Chaos, the Warrior of Light will marry the princess of the realm (which, by the way, is kinda interesting because there are female Blanks, and the prophecy stats specifically “princess”, not “royalty” in general)... And princess Sarah, more or less, just asks him to marry her.
Jeez, it’s just... I don’t like her, okay? Wol hasn’t been the first Blank following the prophecy, and A LOT of Blanks have failed... Maybe that means that princess Sarah dumped a lot of people before because they failed, or well, dumped them in case they looked like being able to become the Warrior of Light? Because, in all honesty, I don’t believe she’s in love with Wol.
I think there’s something more in this. I mean, I don’t think she’s in love... Gosh, you’ve only see him twice or thrice, exchanged words with him for a very little minutes, and you look so much in love with him, and WHAM then there’s that prophecy saying you’ll marry? SO convenient, mate. SO convenient.
There’s something more to this, all the more when you hear Garland talk about her... “Don’t grow to need her love”, if I remember exactly, he told Wol. Which probably means he was to be the Warrior of Light and somehow things turned upside down. Also, it made me remember that Garland threw Mog away when he was about to say something about princess Sarah and the Warrior of Light, that seemed to be about the engagement... Weird.
But well, in all this ordeal of talking about marriage, Wol seems like, surprised, stunned (like in a “this is too rushed” kind of stunned, which I totally understand), and he gets silent for a moment, probably searching for words, or blocked, when... A WILD GARLAND APPEARS!
Garland walks firmly and fairly quickly towards both Wol and Sarah, and here I thought things were going to go wild, but what happened just got me by total surprise (as if it wasn’t already a surprise the earlier thing)...
He just INTERRUPTS them, like, in time to save Wol of having to answer to Sarah’s proposal XDDD
Garland just entered and was like saying to Wol they had to head for the next temple. AND he took off his helmet, and there were some tense glances between and Sarah (who, by the way, didn’t recognize him, or acted like she didn’t, and she asked his name but he just didn’t say it). In a certain moment, it just seems that Garland is angry, and just turns away to walk out of the room. I’m want so much to know more of Garland, to know of his story.
And well, I’m sure as fuck that Wol’s head was something like non-stop thanking Garland for interrupting, because as much as Wol is sassy, he’s not a bad-hearted guy, and I doubt he would have felt nice having to turn down Sarah’s marriage proposal, but probably would feel trapped if saying yes given the fact he barely knows Sarah. And, well, the scene ends with Sarah saying he’ll wait for him, and so on.
In my head, however, there was a part of me fangirling and saying “GARLAND IS MARKING HIS TERRITORY, FUCK OFF PRINCESS” XDDD
Best thing is that, contrary to some classic tales... Wol questions EVERYTHING, and thinks of EVERYTHING, concerning the prophecy and everything. And then you have a moment in which you can see Wol wondering about what happened, and he wonders if Sarah’s feelings are real or not, and what about HIS feelings, like he thinks it’s too rushed and would want to properly know her before doing anything. He also looks surprised that she received him in such a warm way, and baffled.
I guess we’ll know in time better about Sarah. Maybe I’m judging her wrong, who knows... But I can’t shake this feeling that there’s something more.
And, oh...
Later on, when you’re getting close to the temple with Garland, a scene takes place in which Garland tells Wol something in the lines of “the temple it’s close and I’m not leading you there by the hand so you’re alone for now”... and as he walks away, Wol says: “...what a good friend”.
FRIEND.
Wol considers Garland a friend. And he didn’t think it, no, he SAID IT.
Can I die already because of feels? Yes? Good. Because, even if not in a shippy way, I like their dynamics, and I was HOPING they would get to be companions, but Wol just called him FRIEND and I was just SO HAPPY.
And it also adds a point in tension because in the glossary, in the part of the prophecy, it reads that the Warrior of Light has gone through “tragedies”... Plural. And so far, Mog has died and we have witnessed the horror that Chaos brings, plus the death of a soldier that was a good guy for which Wol cared too and the death of a lot of soldiers... but I think there are more tragedies to come.
Another thing that surprised me was the way of ending part 2 of chapter 3...
When you go to the next temple’s crystal, before heading to the next teleportation stone, you see in the crystal the moogles in Sarah’s castle gone crazy looking for her, saying she’s disappeared...
AND SHE APPEARS BEHIND THE CRYSTAL.
She sneaked out of the castle, and she joins Wol lmao. I mean, I kinda liked the scene, it’s like, well, I’ll get to see her more and therefore I’ll be able to judge her more properly as things happen. But I feel like Wol is a bit overwhelmed about what’s happening, and I can’t help but feel sad for him. No memories, no name, forced to fight, following a prophecy to save people, and now, a princess he barely knows is very interested in him and wants to marry him, something that the prophecy states too.
I’m really hoping that, whatever happens, Wol will get to be happy, but given the fact this is a Final Fantasy, that it’s Square-Enix and that Sarah looks suspicious, who knows. I’m also looking forward to see Garland interacting with her, in all honesty.
And, damn... Vox appeared, before the ending scene, and pretty much talked as he always does, and he told that he didn’t WANT Wol to become the Warrior of Light? WTF. He said he sees no light in him (???), and then looked as if he just used words to make him go forward on the prophecy or something... And I’ll continue saying it: if Sarah may look suspicious, then Vox is CERTAINLY suspicious.
And the chapter ended up with Wol wondering about what happened, and mostly about what Vox said, and thinking something in the lines of that maybe he’ll be able to find that light with Sarah by his side. Or, what’s the same, he wants to get to know her, and see where all leads, which I find logical.
I don’t know if they’ll end up as canon pairing, or if things will start going crazy, but either way, I’m enjoying the story so much!

Möbius Final Fantasy: my experience & my 1st fanart of the game
[SPOILERS]
I remember I downloaded it for the 1st time on my mobile, time ago, and well... Let’s just say the game wouldn’t work properly when it comes about graphics. Seems like my mobile wasn’t good enough for them, so I ended up uninstalling.
Aaaand when time later I found out that Möbius was going out on Steam, well, downloading time, haha.
Didn’t play it much though and I didn’t advance much, until some days ago I decided to pick it up again...
... And now I’m just like, playing it a ton? Loving it so hard?
The gameplay is nice, the music is very good as well, the story is getting more interesting as it advances, and I love the characters so far.
I’ve ended Chapter 2 at the moment and I’m doing other things before I move to Chapter 3 (exploring other areas and getting Sicarius), and I have to say it’s getting VERY interesting...
WoL (Warrior of Light), Echo, Mog, Garland, Sarah, Vox, the Azure Witch... Every one of them gives me feelings, in a way or another, and they all look pretty interesting.
WoL is a guy with good heart, and he’s also so sassy (and damn if he has reasons to be all sassy, I would be sassy and I would be salty and scared if suddenly I woke up with no memories, somewhere I don’t know, with a strange voice talking to me and another people that’s in the same situation, forced to fight and to follow a prophecy). Not to mention the times when he’s all witty and phylosophical!
Echo is definitely a snarky, playful thing... But she also has a nice side. And some temper, too. And gods, that moment when she changed her voice freaked me out. I don’t even know if it was something true or if she truly was pretending, as she seemed to do. The fact that it’s said she guides people to its doom by promising them loot and so on it’s both interesting and scary.
I definitely enjoy when WoL and Echo interact, their clashes is something I enjoy a lot seeing!
And Mog... Oh, Mog </3 Rest in peace, sweet little friend. I cried so much when Mog died, it was a heartbreaking scene, seeing Mog dying and WoL so worried and broken... I’m still not over it. Playing Möbius Final Fantasy without having Mog constantly doing wordplay and bad puns, trying to rhyme... It’s sad.
Garland is an interesting fellow. For what I’ve seen up until now, he’s neither on the good or the bad side, yet he helps and guides WoL while, at the same time, seeming to avoid some things (that one time he threw Mog away because he was talking of a certain part of the prophecy...). His attitude is, how to describe it... He looks like, insensitive, and the fact that Vox seems to want his head (or at least if he gets too close to the temples)... Don’t know. I mean, since Möbius seems to look like kind of a FFI version, or at least carries lots of winks to it, it could either be that his Garland will follow the steps of his FFI “brother”, or not. I have a feeling it could perfectly be either of them in the end, but I’m REALLY hoping that he ends up being a companion for WoL. Also... DAMN, when he took his helmet off. BEAUTIFUL MAN. I was intrigued as to see how he would look under the helmet but held no hopes of ever seeing his face, and then, suddenly, he takes his helmet off. That was awesome~
Also, I kinda ship WoL and Garland *COUGH COUGH* I don’t know if they’ll end up being enemies or not but, at the moment, I just ship them... Also, I call the pairing Woland lol
Sarah, along with Vox, stand in a weird spot to me. Let me just say... They’re SUSPICIOUS AS FUCK.
Sarah has a very delicate voice, maybe a very delicated one, and as much as she seems to be just as delicate, there’s something off about her. When WoL met her after Mog died for the sake of the prophecy, her attitude was just... HELL, it annoyed the crap out of me. Mog was kind and nice, he loved Sarah, and she acted like he was just a mere tool for the prophecy (what’s wrong with you Sarah?), to then shed a tear or two for him as WoL got angry and hit the crystal, suddenly appearing touched by what happened to Mog and about WoL’s feelings. How convenient that her tears calmed down WoL...
And Vox, oh damn. That high and mighty dude just looks as if he’s hiding something, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he and Sarah were the real bad guys, be it one of them Chaos in disguise, or his allies, for example. The same thing I said about Sarah applies to Vox: there’s something off with him.
In all honesty, I woudln’t be surprise if Sarah and Vox were the bad guys. And if that was to happen, it would be hands down AMAZING. It would be a nice plot twist.
Oh, and also, I just met lately the Azure Witch, and she looks interesting as well, although suspicious as well. So far I like her.
I’m really, REALLY excited to see the story advance! Bad thing that we only have until chapter 4 for now. In Japan they have already chapter 6 and, if I’m not wrong, they’re going to have soon chapter 7. Good thing I didn’t rush chapter 3. Time to take it slow as to not despair waiting for more chapters, haha.
What I thought would be probably a bland story is quickly being filled with doubts, questioning, drama, and suspiciousness... And I think the drama has just started, given the fact that the menu dedicated to info of the game’s story and characters mentions “tragedies” that the Warrior of Light has to beat, if I remember well...
* * *
Now... Fanart time xD I felt the sudden urge to draw Garland (without helmet) and WoL in chibis, and so, this happened:
I know it’ not the best thing, and in fact, I shouldn’t have drawn the noses, but I’m so used to draw noses, that by the time I noticed I was drawing these noses on the chibis, it was too late x_D
Also, WoL’s hair looks a bit more spiky than it is...
But well, had some fun doing this simple doodle haha.
And this won’t be the last time I draw them, that’s for sure, even if what I’ll probably do will be sketches and doodles.
