furby furblets are the fijit friends newbies of the furby universe. you can't convince me otherwise. they're small, silly, their ears move in some way (fijit newbies' ears move upward when their side or sides are squeezed, furby furblets' ears pop up and fold down), they're scrinkly scrimblos, AND THEY PLAY MUSIC.

Meanwhile, humanity decided to move on, forget that fijit friends existed, and decide to create a faceless, soulless, bodyless robot that STEALS human work and regurgitates it. and soulless corporations it was a good idea to put theftbot 3000 on top of google results. and in the taskbar in windows. WHY did we move on from fijits...

Hey, do any of you remember Fijit Friends? These weird little things from Girl Tech and Mattel that released/blew up in 2011 and just...died two years later?

Because I do. Oh, boy, I do. My brain just decided to hyperfixate on them, and I made a full-blown personality quiz about them in the span of about 30 minutes.

A Tribute to Robots of My Life — Part 1

I'm drawing robots that've influenced my life! Since we're starting in chronological order, here's the first three, mostly from my earlier childhood. Each are named, with their background and timeframes added! Ramble under the cut.

HOOO boy! So! This started because I started reminiscing on just how many robotic/synthesite characters I love. It's been a lifelong theme with me. So why not do art of every single major one?

Tiny is where it started for me. Little Robots was something me and my siblings all grew up on. There were so many reruns of that show, lol. Tiny is so joyous and whimsical, it's hard not to enjoy drawing him. And I really did enjoy drawing him! Precious baby boy who's done no wrong.

As for Zane, I specifically picked his S4-S7 era design, because it's the most nostalgic to me. It's what I really remember making me appreciate "chrome-faced" styled robots. And that was when I watched Ninjago the most! I've sort of fallen out of touch with the series, but no matter what, Zane will have a space in my heart.

Technically, NIMROD isn't a robot. He's a sentient supercomputer from the Cold War and he's a maths teacher. But shh. Let us just appreciate this sassy old man. Ever seen a fridge give you diabolical side-eye? He was the most difficult to draw, and far too large to fit fully in the frame, so you're getting the perspective of a Strange Hill student who fucked their maths class.

okay so i found the upload of this formerly lost video that i had watched a few years back (see here) and then a friend of mine who is VERY into archiving fijit material (im also a huge fan of em if you can't tell) had reuploaded it to his channel per my request for basically archival purposes just in case the OG upload gets taken down again or something. this is official, some sorta weird prototype ad, feels like an alternate timeline. no idea where it originated from.

Fijit Friends Repair Log #2

I couldn't get into Logan's head to fix her lights because of the screw covers, so my dad recommended that I just look for one in better condition. Lo and behold...

Logan Mk. II. Her right ear is bent backward, but that's a small price to pay for working face AND stomach lights, and a squishy body that doesn't melt onto my fingers whenever I touch it. To the person who initially listed her on Ebay, thank you. Logan is super hard to find (especially in good condition) since she sold the least. I would also like to thank my dad for even finding this listing. He's amazing at navigating Ebay since he's been selling stuff on the platform for so long.

As for Zinzie, uh... She's possessed. She still powers on when she has batteries put in her, but if they're positioned incorrectly, she won't stop giggling. They need to be placed exactly right, too, or she just won't work. Her duet button is also malfunctioning, playing a laugh instead of her duet song when pressed. This is disappointing. I wanted to test her duet function with Spinrose, but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. Maybe she'll get a replacement, maybe not. I don't know. As it stands, she's still cute and squeezable.

Skippa is still doing fine, as is Spinrose. They have all their functionality intact.

ngl i love computers and other machinery just as much as the average objectum but i do think that puppets and dummies don’t get nearly as much love as they should. wo pics below are my lovely little guy Danny.

this post is puppet-centric but i will go and say that animatronics are slept on as well, like showbiz animatronics and toy ones. i really like fijit friends and tedy ruxpins in pacticular lol. also any toys/ figurines in general, plushies are great but the rest deserve love too rip.

not being mean btw, just spreading my love :3
