It genuinely feels like all the 20+ kins have left tumblr. I go into the kin tag and it is filled with very young teenagers, which is absolutely fine and they deserve a space, too, but where have the rest of us gone? Where is everyONNNNNEEEEEEE? It's so hard to form friendships as an adult, full stop, but trying to find people near my own age in kin spaces is even harder. I just want community. I am almost 30 and it feels like time has just run out. Everyone has just vanished.

Interest check, would people be interested in a blog made for helping people find their fictionkin types? Sometimes I’ll know that I have a type that has particular character tropes and traits but I don’t know the source or where to begin looking. People would just submit the general idea they have and then people could suggest characters and or sources that line up with it. Is this too niche? I’d probably also host canoncalls and general help stuff too.

what if everyone is fictionkin and the only reason we amount to such a small number of people is because the enormous amount of fiction in this world means that most people will never interact with any of their sources over the course of their life

I just hinted at being fictionkin to my parents by saying “I’m literally Sol from Warrior Cats why are you making me fold laundry” and all my dad said is “well it’s Sol’s laundry so Sol is going to fold the laundry” and I think that counts as a good response

shoutout to people who ship things w their kins that they know WEREN'T canon. like not just "oh it didnt work out", full on "I would not have done that but it's funny to imagine a version of me that would've".
