Forced induction aplenty in Connecticut

There was a whole lot of head-spinning iron to take in at the Concours, but the star(s) of the show for this abnormally-aspirated motorcycle owner were the five factory Turbos of Brad Beers.

This is simply the finest collection of factory turbocharged motorcycles in the world. The Barber Motorsports Museum in Alabama is a respectable second. How do we know this? Because everyone who's seen both collections has given the nod to Brad. That's how.

Yeah, there were some great cars there. My heart skipped a few beats when Dale pointed out the 1964 Bill Thomas Cheetah to me. First one I've seen in the metal and it's more gorgeous than the hundreds of photos my eyes have burned holes into.

But those Turbos...

Please design some sort of mechanical hand that attaches to the side of the car’s cockpit so Lando can be fed pastries as he’s tearing ‘round Monaco at over 200 KpH.

“GET IN LOSER,” Lando hollers, when he pulls up to the curb in his light blue Fiat Jolly. Oscar, mid fighting a zombie, actually has to do a double take. “WE’RE GOING ZOMBIE KILLING.”

Oscar manages to successfully stab the zombie he was fighting in the eye, and clambers into Lando’s car. “I have many questions,” he says, as Lando peels away from the curb at. A pretty sensible speed, actually. Maybe a bit too sensible for a Zombie Apocalypse.

“Yes, this was the only car available, yes I am aware the open concept of the car is not great when fighting zombies, yes I do have a bottle of water, yes you can have some and no I don’t have a gun but I do have a machete,” Lando says, never taking his eyes off the road. Which is a good thing, seeing as Monaco is pretty much overrun with zombies.

Oscar opens his mouth. “Joke gift for my birthday,” Lando says, before Oscar actually gets a chance to ask him where he got his machete.

They drive to the chaotic streets of Monte Carlo in complete silence, until they finally make it out on the freeway.

“Thanks,” Oscar says. “For getting me out of there.”

Lando shrugs. “Teammates, ay?” He says. But there’s something in the way his hands relax on the steering wheel that suggest he’s more relieved than he’s letting on that Oscar’s next to him, alive and well.

Oscar doesn’t mind, though. He feels quite the same.
