Humanz and its post-trumpocalyptic realness

The whole album is about how technology can manipulate people and about a world governed by a money obsessed tyrant (it does name Trump in one of the songs xD), and as we know social media had a huge role on electing the orange man, so this is my read on the album, song by song:

So we start with the intro I Switched My Robot Off, about how getting away from technology will at the same time help and muddle you:

“I switched my robot off And I know more But I retain less”

And Ascension announces that:

“...the world is ending soon I assumed that they told ya They tryna dinosaur us  So now it's time to go up”

And the scenario is as follows:

“I'm finna turn Obama to my patna 'fore he dash Pull up to his pad, wipe my ass with the flag I'm just playing, baby, this the land of the free Where you can get a Glock and a gram for the cheap Where you can live your dreams long as you don't look like me Be a puppet on a string, hanging from a fucking tree “

Strobelite continues talking about the country’s division: 

“Are we just too far, to be as one again?”

Saturn Barz is told by someone living in a very difficult ambient post apocalyptic maybe? :

“The system force mi Fi be a killer just like Rodney Price All my life”

Momentz furthers the notion that something bad happened:

“And now we done, we passed the test And now lay down to rest And wait for the morning hangover that comes”

Then next is the interlude: The Non-Conformist Oath

Submission is told by someone who is trying to fight but is getting tired:

“At times, I feel like giving up 'Cause it feels like I've had enough Felt like my soul in handcuffs Got questions with no answers Can't help me out, I need a friend I'm losing faith in this world of sin”

Next is Charger, I had a hard time understanding this one, but some people think it’s about the internet and how you have no control of things that it’s on it “Everything is supposed to get in” and how you have nowhere to run and no privacy “I’m inside you”. I think “I’m going to take you for a ride” might be about wrong information being spread.

The interlude: Elevator Going Up might have been taken from Clash’s Koka Kola that starts with the same thing and talks about money, executives and advertisements, check the lyrics.

Andromeda might me talking about legal resistance, like the ACLU, in this world it was successful at first but it ultimately lost:

“When the courts were closing It was Bobby gracing* I know that I put it to the right man He put it back” *Bobby Grace is an attorney who won the “Pursuit of Justice Award” from the  ADDA

Busted and Blue has a similar theme to Charger, it’s probably about how social media can “seduce” people towards a certain direction:

“I was asked by a computer A shadow on the wall An image made by Virgil* To rule over us all So amplify the sirens” *Virgil was a poet who wrote a poem about Aeneas, a counterpart of Ulysses most known from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, where sirens, creatures that lure sailors to their death appear.

Then there’s the interlude: Talk Radio, with: “I don't have to take this any further if you don't want me to I only go as far as you want me to That's only as far as I go”

Carnival is a tough one, my best guess is someone trying to alienate you about what is happening to the world:

“We play to win, just to find the dark Go home again, and we both fall out I wanna spend the time with you Doing nothing Keep you satisfied, while they rob us blind”

Let Me Out is pretty straight forward xD, just read the all lyrics really, like:

“Obama is gone, who is left to save us? So together we mourn, I'm praying for my neighbors They say the devil's at work and Trump is calling favors”

Next interlude: Penthouse, it only contains: “Something, was gonna happen tonight”

Next songs, Sex Murder Party and She’s My Collar, are both about someone trapped in a bad situation, unable and unwilling to change:

“I'm caught up in this I'm caught up in this murder I'm trying to get away, but I'm trapped in this phase I'm caught up in this masquerade”

and

“I died a thousand times I did what I had to do Hey, that's just how it goes I'm still coming back to you”

Another interlude: The Elephant, my guess is, elephants are usually a symbol of power, and confetti can be read as something silly: “And out of the elephant's trunk... Confetti”

And next we are introduced to the elephant: Trump, it’s his song, Hallelujah Money:

“Here is our tree That primitively grows And when you go to bed Scarecrows from the far east Come to eat Its tender fruits And I thought the best way to perfect our tree Is by building walls”

We Got the Power is the resistance song, about love and hope:

“I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told Or how impossible it seems”

The album ends here, but then there’s the deluxe edition where the New World is being built as it starts with the interlude: New World

Next is The Apprentice... You know... The title... He is singing it again, about how he won despite people expecting him to quit:

“Tell these motherfuckers everything I'm seeing My world's darker than the young black dream Of the first black prince of a new white king I just wanna play, have it my way Make a bunch of fucking rules, then tell 'em obey They can't fuck with me, yeah, yeah, Ojay First name, government? No, him, I slay”

Halfway To The Halfway House, I have no idea, my wild guess it’s about his promises, luring people:

“We're feeling the same chill It's giving momentum We're feeling the same thrill Whatever we do, trust Imagine a broadcast, the central in mountain You say that you want your cherryade fountain”

Out of Body seems to be about people being manipulated:

“There's always stains on what's real and true Tonight is a special, special occasion And all that's left for us to do, is move”

Ticker Tape is probably about people waiting for something happen while the world changes towards another direction:

“ Waiting for the world to start again Waiting for the world... again 'Cause we're working through it Working through your nightmare (Are you leaving for the rest of it?) Watch the worker bees As they're working for it Working through the night shift”

The end is Circle Of Friendz, it doesn’t say much, but if I extrapolate, it’s about how his government is full of people with the same mentality of his.

Zach Myers: Great empire building game. I like its trade system and the research tree is good. They also have the other cultures challenge they are doing (Vikings) which I hope to see more of. Diamonds are a terrible deal outrageously overpriced to buy but at least the game doesn’t require you to buy them for advancement. I probably would if they weren’t so expensive. Overall good game with some decent strategy to the resource management and space management aspects.

Renita Wood: Great, it probably has better game control on other devices, extremely varying on my tablet at times it is extremely slow and others there is minimal loading time. On my cell phone when I have high-speed data it works rather well. Also, depends on the amounts of worlds played in you may spend anywhere from a few quick minutes up to an hour and a half for play time. Super great on the phone! Superb stress relief, great rewards!

Grace Symington: I LOVE this game. So much fun collecting buildings from different ages & arranging a City. I was reading some reviews & I will say they’re WRONG.!! I myself had NEVER read how to play, I’d only seen the TV ad, and I figured it out w/o any issues. I have a feeling ‘those’ people don’t READ the small print that states it takes 8 hrs to build a building. All they’re lacking is PATIENCE, not Money.! ΔΗΜΗΤΡΗΣ ΠΕΤΡΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ: Great and very detailed game with no ads. The only problem is that diamonds are used for too many things, even to unlock a few technologies it seems, in large amounts while also being way too expensive and hard to get without spending money. If I were you I would reduce the price on diamonds and if that would cost you guys money you could add some optional ads.

A Google user: The fantastic game I have played for a while without paying a cent and get more diamonds than I need from GE. This game is perfectly possible to play without spending money. People saying that must be extremely impatient I don’t see why you would need diamonds to advance your city no matter what age you are in. Paying diamonds is for bad strategists and impatient people. Again great job into games.

Alicia Gioia: I love the game but I hate that it costs diamonds for almost everything. It’s all so expensive and I don’t want to pay to play all the time. make expansions buyable with coins or goods. it shouldn’t cost so much to expand or make your city better.

Mark May: Enjoy the game. I have some suggestions. I think the game would be better if the player could face the buildings in different directions. I also think it would be better if the Police department actually created Police Officers. Another thing would be to have more Military Units per building. I also would like to see more decorative buildings such as a bank. It would also be better if the Electric Building actually generated Electricity. Lastly, if the game cycled through Day/Night.

Rodney Novotny: interesting game. purchasing diamonds does help, though not required to spend your cash, it helps and is slow going without diamonds or other packages. fun game though.

William Wolski: Love the game but touching stars don’t always hit the building I push and have trouble seeing the two very small white numbers . also seems some players have a way better understanding of the game and its secrets. maybe because of college education or business might be the reasons have read wiki leaks on the game and know it takes time. thanks.

P. Johannes Hoyer: It’s a great game and well maintained, but you can pay for this game literally hundreds of bucks each month and they do everything to get you to buy. Las Vegas style. So be aware and patient, but then to use some money here and it is OK and as said its fun and well-maintained

sasha davis: This game is so much fun and can be easily played for hours, but there are a lot of things that aren’t explained well when you start. Like what a PVP is or when and how you get access to even playing it. Then there’s what all the acronyms in the games even mean or what the symbols mean for each soldier in the battles. Outside of some of these things that could be solved with a tutorial when you sign up I love this game. I’ve been playing nonstop since I downloaded it.

Jessie DIab: I love this game. I think I have been looking for a game like this for 10 years. finally found it. Would be nice if there were more handouts of diamonds. And in the special events… if you are a starting player it is hard if not impossible to reach the end let alone a nice level.

Louise Flannery: I love this game. It is very challenging and addicting. some of the events a great, the carnival not so much. I hope they will rerun some of the other events in the future to let us work on some of the event buildings we missed. Lots of fun if you enjoy a challenge.

SteelChords: Great game. it’s my time killer right now. just wish that it wouldn’t force me to log back in every time I exit out to something else and come back. it’s gotten really annoying. that and trying to swipe across the screen to mass collect goods and stuff is a bit tricky without moving the camera over.
