The Cortes family was one that moved to Northeney, so their small but cozy (read: cheap) home was up for sale. Finally, Jamison could move out of his brother's home with his wife Shirha Subramanian and his stepdaughter Thanvi. They turned the garage into a pottery studio.
Both Jamison and Shriha are teachers, but at different schools so they didn't know eachother too well until they found they were kindred spirits (read: nerds) in the school district book club.
