How did Dami adjust to demonhood? Did she have different feelings about each of her metamorphoses?

Due to how long ago it was and how she was legitimately a different character when that blog started, this won't be 100% in line with the actual early contents of the blog, but if she had been the Mary Miyake incarnation of Damithal then that she is now, this is how I believe I would have done it

Her initial transformation into a demon was a lot. It was her first introduction to anything except the completely mundane in the world, and it flipped it all over instantly. She was drunk on power, yet overwhelmed and confused. She had never had so much control over her life before, and she had never felt like she understood so little about the world before, and those are very very weird experiences to be having at the exact same time for the exact same reason.

She basically compensated by just flinging herself right into it, acting like she was cool with everything, like nothing fazed her, and she had a handle on it. She leapt into learning and using her powers, tried to own it, and as a result she sort of fractured her perception of herself. By not pacing herself in the transition, she couldn't reconcile the person she perceived herself as with the idea of herself in her head, and so she started having problems with self identity, and grappled with feeling like a different person, or not a person at all.

She was much more comfortable in her own skin by the time she became a Queen, fortunately, and basically took it completely in stride.

December has gifted us an early Christmas present in the form of Cairo Calling, a vital collaboration between Cairo label 100COPIES and London’s Rinse FM, the former pirate radio station that now enjoys a global reputation.

The genesis of the ‘Cairo Calling’ project was a 2014 cultural exchange that saw UK artists such as Kode9, Faze Miyake and Mumdance collaborating with Egyptian artists Sadat, Figo and Diesel. To continue bringing Mahragan music and Cairo street culture to a wider audience, this month saw Rinse and 100COPIES facilitating talks, screenings, clubs and conversations, culminating in an incredible compilation from which today’s #TrackoftheDay is taken.
