Kyle Hill Gang : unique iterators based on science!

i’ve been rewatching some kyle hill recently and tinkering on some redesigns for some of my personal iterators i made a bit ago :]. consider this a proper introduction! lettuce start with a same-evening doodle:

here are some darkmode doodles with their recent redesigns, featuring their favorite videos!

Meet Ack, Pluto, and Rhnull/Zurk!

as you can see, they’re veerryyyy far-from-canon iterator designs. i took an experimental and fun sciencey route when making them instead :]. Ack and Pluto were inspired by science i hyperfixated on through kyle hill (hence the group name), and zurk from a stray-based idea (and discovery in blood types??). more detail on who they are and what they’re specifically inspired by under the cut ^^!

Ack is based on particle accelerators, the (at their full potential) most powerful machine humanity’s ever built. He in turn is one—in a way i’m still figuring out! his process involves some sort of solar power and converting it to electricity via that huge cord in his chest. he gets really hot so he uses supercooled liquid nitrogen to cool his systems…somehow. personality-wise, ack is very ‘over it’ and mellow. authoritarian. independent. persistent with his logical choices. negative and bluntly sarcastic when he’s annoyed with zurk (at first). but they bond and become besties :] somehow!

Pluto is literally a nuclear bomb. i am not even kidding :D. Well, to an extent he can melt down and maayybbee explodeee….yikes…can’t be good for mental health. He’s my anxiety child (every now and then i have to make one)! His internals are a maze of lead-lined watertight organs that cool off the critical mass of plutonium inside him. rarefaction cell? more like demon core💥. because of his nature, he has to wear some rather overwhelming gear to protect himself the others around him while remaining functional. this DEFINITELY isn’t good for his mental because maybe the next socially-pressuring-environment-caused panic attack could be his last…! ohhh yikes…he gets a good ending though. maybe some, well, blood on his hands, but a good ending!

Aannnddd Zurk. The goober of flesh inhabiting the discarded skeleton of another iterator. the stray-inspired mass of cancerous tissue who’s just as silly as his eye size depicts! he’s fully capable of speech but has more, shall we say, sensitive survival instincts. Clingy! Really good at making points. Optimistic and highly curious. Very enthusiastic after having found a friend who is also a freak of engineering like he! ack needs to warm up to him since zurk’s at first overwhelmingly curious. that’s when some boundaries and social skills are learned! zurk my beloved….he’s also probably a he/it actually. i like that huhu.

their sciencey source material gave me a lot of abstract freedom in design, and i’m rather pleased with how they’re developing as silly fellas!! they have lots of backstory and other schtuffs i’m still fleshing out, but this is what i got so far. more will come soon ^^!
