doing fatin and tolga side-mission on dl2 and ngl, im tripping. (Spoiler alert for those who havent do this mission, but i believe most of you did that alrd)
Like what the hell, we fight 2 demolisher in pitch black room!?!?!?!? WHO THINKING THATS A GOOD IDEA!?!??! how high are they when they making those stages???? Took me like 1 hour to find the device
And multiversal concept is kinda overrated these days but damn that other aiden is hot, kinda reminds me of dicktat's renegade!aiden. Jonah really did a good job voicing the other aiden like, his voice is so much different despite voiced by the same guy. Aiden's voice is having this confused tone, but the other aiden's like he just wanted to ended it and very cold. I guess the other aiden joining renegade is canon after all, in other universes.
#rayn's rambling#dying light 2#aiden caldwell#Fatin and tolga#dont mind me im just yapping here bcs i had nio friends who play dl and dl2

INTERMISSION I-IV: BEFORE WE PART WAYS...
Segment taken from Side Quest Story: Lending A Hand
The prosthetic arm looked crude and clunky, a skeletal framework of scrap metal, bolts, and screws. It was functional but basic, powered by an old battery pack.
Nobody expected miracles, but the flaws became more apparent the longer Noam worked on it. The biggest issue was the fingers—they had to be controlled manually with joystick switches, requiring clumsy extra steps.
Clank!
Two fingers and a thumb clamped too hard, shattering a cup in the test.
Jack's eyes widened, alarm bells ringing in her head. There was no way they would put this on the lad and everyone agreed silently.. Noam swept the shards away, terrified as the fingers twitched, almost as if the contraption wanted to grab him, only stopped by its heavy weight.
"That's a bear trap," Freakazoid stated the obvious.
"You don't have to tell me twice. Doesn't help that it needs a 35-kilo battery, and a controller that short-circuits!"
Frustrated, Noam yanked out the wires, watching the disastrous metallic beast power down.
"Alright. What do we need?" Crane asked.
"Nothing," Noam replied, slumping in his seat. "Hate to break it to you, but you're gonna need hardware. Know anyone who can help?"
"If we were in the Outskirts, the Grads might have an idea," Jack offered.
"Any chance they can help out?"
Jack shook her head. "It's hard enough traveling along the Coastline without the military breathing down our necks."
Crane wasn't an engineer, but he knew this mechanical upgrade was a long shot. The prototype on the table wasn't even the first attempt.
"...What about asking Tolga and Fatin?"
Jack's eyes widened in disbelief for hearing the worst suggestion possible. Noam, however, looked confused—those names weren't as infamous to him as they were to both Runners.
Crane already regretted the suggestion before he said it. They were the last people on Earth he'd ever want to ask for anything.
"No," Jack said firmly.
"I don't like it either," he admitted.
"Absolutely not."
"They're difficult, sure-"
"That's not my problem. You're asking two mad scientists to work on a child's arm."
"They're not going to strap a rocket launcher on him," Crane said, though Jack immediately picked on the slight doubt in his voice, narrowing her eyes further.
Because he could actually see those two do the impossible. Not for a kid, hopefully.
Still, what other options did they have?
"Let me talk to them."
All of a sudden, Jack crossed her arms, brow furrowed. Why?
This was the first time Freakazoid had volunteered to talk to someone, let alone two people Jack could barely tolerate.
"I mean, sure. Give it your best shot."
"Trust me. They'll make that hardware for us."
No backing down from Freakazoid—another first for Jack. Was he really sold on the brothers' brilliance for making that harpoon gun? Jack glanced over to Noam, hoping for an alternative. Another safer option.
"I got nothing," Noam said, still lost in the conversation. Any solution seemed better than his failed contraptions so far.
Jack didn't feel any more confident, but she decided to let it play out.
"I hope you know what you're doing," she muttered, both amused and puzzled, as she walked out of the garage.
Crane followed, initially confident. But as soon as he left the garage—with no one paying attention—he groaned, his steps feeling heavier.
"...Maybe they won't recognize me. My voice's fucked anyway."

THE LEGEND HIMSELF?#i don't give a fuck if he's a zombie now please bring him back#techland don't you see how well a sentient volatile/night hunter would fit into the narrative of 'staying human'?#how it would challenge what it MEANS to be human. is humanity defined by just not turning?#or is it defined by the act of kindness and connection to other people? something that crane has ALWAYS done and would continue to do so?#you cannot tell me that crane would just give up his courage and compassion. even as a zombie#okay i'm done

Crane: rahim, have you seen layton? he borrowed my lighter and i need it back.
Rahim: ...
Crane: rahim.
Rahim: he went to go and talk to fatin and tolga about a 'practical demonstration with indoor fireworks'.
-------------
And after this, Papa Crane went to fetch his chaotic child at the school.
-------------
Layton never really liked the engineer twins. They're too smart for their own good and their way of thinking reminds him of someone.
So he decided to let them off with a bang.

Hello! I found out this blog just couple days ago and I'm sooo happy that Dying Light has fandom blogs as yours, this game deserves affection so frikin much ! Thank you for blessing my soul with your beautiful work ❤ I wanted to ask, what is your opinion about Tolga,Fatin and Ezgi ?
AAAAAH JLSDKFJLSKDLFJKSLD thank you so much! I’m just completely up to my eyeballs in this game and its characters. There’s not a enough fanart so I had a moment a while back where I said to myself, “well, guess I need to MAKE art for it.”
My dream is to inspire others to do the same. I would love to see other creators’ DL art. ;O;
I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Tolga and Fatin. They are the absolute definition of obnoxious, but they’re also super hilarious and interesting characters and I love the humor they bring to the game. I haven’t finished The Following, so I don’t exactly know where their story arc goes, but so far, that’s where I stand. I think this post sums up my feelings best.
As for Ezgi, I’m really enjoying her so far! I’m very, very angry at some of the decisions the writing team made regarding her story arc, but she herself is really fun. I love her hair. (She’s also super gaaaaaaaaaay)
You should reblog and share your own feelings about them! Since you asked about them, I’m assuming you have thoughts regarding them (be them positive or negative lmao). I’d love to hear your opinions!

Thank you Dying Light 2 writers for, uh, *checks notes*, making the direction I am taking in Monsters, We. no longer feeling absolutely unhinged in comparison to canon.
On the other hand:
*inhales deeply*
DIMENSIONAL RIFTS?!
Look, I'm a total fan of dimension travel. My entire original universe is built on it (inspired by Stargate when I was a wee Taff). I even took Crane for adventures in it, where he went to go brawl with some Assassin's Creed Pirates (Who needs an Animus) and did his time with the BSAA annoying Chris Redfield.
But in the actual game.
I.
Of all the things.
I did not see that coming.

🦇🕸️♟️🧙♀️ for Kyle? 💕
Him ♥
🦇 - How misunderstood is your f/o?
People underestimate his intelligence. Tolga and Fatin, genius twins stuck in the same town, insult him constantly when he's in contact with them because they believe he's automatically dumb as he does physical work for them.
Rais is fully committed in believing Kyle is nothing but a obedient puppet of GRE and thus underestimates his strength, skills and will to live and kick his ass.
Bajram and Jeffrey also underestimate him, as they give out their challenges, he's able to clear all of them despite them (especially Bajram) believing he will die sooner than later.
The fandom also has misunderstood him. He is not a himbo, he has done some stupid choices - namely burning the virus-halting medicine - because of his loyalty to his employer, and walked into known ambush to save someone. He however is not the type of someone being stupid all the time, as personality trait, which is a part of what himbo is. Kyle even chastises others for their dumb decisions or ideas!
🕸️ - How does your f/o like to decorate their home or room?
He loves decorations! His room in Tower is very much decorated with anything he finds! Neon signs, action figure, guitar, polaroids, anything!
I think Kyle likes it when every surface in the room has something in it, he can't stand fully empty counter. I'm the same way.
Due to his mercenary work his home, his actual home outside missions is very bare bones and he hates it. It doesn't look lived in or warm at all. He loves when a home feels warm.
Kyle's favorite way of making a home feel warm is making it a safe place, be it with decorations, or creating a space in a room where he can feel safe and be allowed to let out all emotions.
He loves how I insisted our whole home to be made into lovely and warm sensory vise. Like a small countryside cottage. In apartment building.
His most used colors would be red and black, as those colours appear most often in his outfits. I consider his signature colour to be yellow and white, though. Not the intense kind of red he has in clothes, but more pastel red, hovering between pink and red. But in Tower he seems to favor blue. And blue is calming colour, I think. Blue or red with black, it depends how he feels.
On holidays I think he goes a little overboard, he's hardly home during them due to his work. Christmas sweaters with big tree and the socks hung somewhere and other decor around the house.
At least I'll know what holiday it is.
♟️ - How powerful is your f/o? Physically, emotionally, etc.
Physically he's very strong! He's able to move giant rebar, fight Volatiles with bare hands, end hordes within no time, able to parkour and run for a long time. There's a reason he's called "best runner in Harran" and became local legend.
Emotionally he's not. His weakness, at least according to GRE, is the fact he gets emotionally attached to subjects ie others. Rather easily as well, considering how fast he offers his help. He expresses his emotions freely, without hiding his reactions, which I love but can make him easy to deal with and trick. He is cautious around people and knows when someone tries to trick him however.
He takes a lot of baggage to his shoulders to carry, without telling anyone. He seems to thrive under stress and adrenaline pumping in his veins. He enjoys the thrill. There's strength and weakness in such approach. He's also able to be calm when situation calls for it, for example when he was in the pit fighting for his life.
Kyle's hopeful man. Even when all hope seems to be lost, he still believes and hopes things will be alright. I love it. He has realistic approach in life, while I have idealistic.
Kyle is man of action as well. Something needs to be done? He goes and does it, but he won't do anything against his beliefs. He can pragmatic, such as killing zombies for money because he needs it to survive, despite being disgusted with the killing methods.
All in all, he is physically strong, but emotionally like an open book and easily attached. I wouldn't call him mentally nor emotionally weak, as those aren't weaknesses, but in my opinion different kind of strength.
🧙♀️ - Does your f/o believe in luck? Curses? Fate?
He believes in luck, but brings more weight into skill and circumstances. Skill is the entire reason he has survived in Harran as long as he has. And Jade saving his ass within first 5 minutes, but we all cannot be perfect.
He doesn't believe in witches nor witchcraft as he is dismissive of Dahlia, a known witch within the quarantine.
Nor does he take the idea of werewolves seriously when encountered with a man who truly believes himself to be one. It's safe to say he doesn't believe in supernatural nor superstition. Thus, I doubt Kyle would be religious nor pagan. He is most likely atheist or agnostic, and I think the latter would suit him.
That said, he was skeptical of Mother being a divine figure in Harran countryside and sounded dismissive of her as something divine, so that could either be because he hasn't heard of her before thus unsure of her existence or legitimacy. Her religion is secluded after all.
But considering zombies exist for him, something not thought to be possible within science, would that shake his faith to believe in supernatural like ghosts? I think Kyle would at least become interested in existence of ghosts after his experience in Harran.

Now I feel so conflicted about the room easter egg on other hand 3rd person picture collage of kyle? NI CE even more fuel to the fire of night hunter shit NOT NICE
yeah i get it
personally i'm impartial on the whole volatile vs night hunter debate. both sides have compelling (and sometimes utterly dumb) arguments for either outcome, though i do think the night hunter side is a bit more convincing to me so far
but my view was always like this - it didn't really matter WHAT the answer was, crane didn't show any signs of showing up again
... well that is until techland lied about characters not coming back (they didn't bring back only spike after all, tolga and fatin are also present, albeit they never meet aiden personally). and with how much crane was referenced, in a way that DELIBERATELY keeps his fate vague and unclear, i really believe we just might see him in a dlc if things go our way
so i guess we'll find out either way, won't we? or at least i hope so
