it’s called cherry waves (or whatever else i may call it in the future), which is an au where instead of burning down the barn/beating up their foster parents jacob takes joseph and john and runs away, which results in jacob never going to juvie, the seed bros never get separated, and jacob possibly never even enlists in the military (but he still finna be a kickass teenager). i’m still working out the kinks, including the time period (their timeline is wacky asf as it is!) so probably mid/late-80s? early-ish 90s?

also— joseph still becomes a cult leader surprise surprise 🙃 but it’s kinda like a children of the corn type thing?? he’d still be young, like around eleven or twelve. just a baby faced cult megalomaniac <3 gathering people for the end of the world, killing people, and jacob having absolutely none of that shit. john would be a wee bab but still has an effect on the story.

i will possibly introduce other fc5 characters, but considering the timeline, i’m kinda iffy about it. plus i don’t know if the story would take place in georgia, or in hope county. maybe joseph intentionally leads jacob to hope county so he can build his cult, and not just to seek safe haven from abuse and neglect??? maybe he’s more manipulative here because he’s just a kiddo and nobody expects a kiddo to supposedly talk to god about nuclear warfare and killing people??? he’s just using jacob to get him to where he needs to be like in canon???

-Her name is Em/Emma B. These are nicknames, however. The only one within Hope County that knows her actual full name is Whitehorse, just for the sheer fact that he is the head of the Sheriff Department and is thus her boss. Of all the nicknames provided by Hope County, she likes Rook the most.

-Raised in a small Colorado mountain town as a child. A bad fight with her parents as a teenager made her leave home. Was aimless for a couple of years before taking a job as a farm hand in a farm near Hope County. After seeing and hearing about the cult + John buying out the farm she worked for, she quickly joined the Sheriff's Department as an impulse to attempt to help with the cult

-Youngest member of the Hope County Sheriff's department by a sheer year or two. Took the role of 'department baby' right out of Pratt's hands. Can't imagine he took this too well but it's not like he's gonna tell anyone

-4 foot 11. Yes. She is tiny as hell. Makes the saying 'the smaller you are, the closer you are to hell' a scientific fact with her sheer existence however

-She has short, red hair that is too curly and fluffy to really style too much. Large, bright 'yellow' eyes (she claims they're amber. It's more of a light, warm brown tone. Think honey).

-The worst impulse control known to man. Roads? Roads do not exist. People will see her burst through the forests on a out of control ATV and watch as she crashes into 27 rocks and 58 trees while somehow miraculously surviving.

-Secretly loves the cult's music. She can, will, and has listened to it in any way she can if a radio is present in the vehicle she uses. If someone gets in the car with her, usually the moment she turns it on, they're blasted with 'OH LORD! THIS EARTH WAS MADE FOR US!!' before she will violently and quickly turn it off. There is but a moment of silence before she just "....That was a hack- Wow, Ok, this is so rude of the peggies to just hack into my radio like that, can you believe that-?? I know rude and the fact that they literally hacked my car radio to play that song is- wow! Wooow-"

-Of course, no one believes her. Do they speak of it? Course not.

I have a mini AU where instead of killing the Seeds, the deputy simply slaps a 'Junior Sheriff' sticker on their chests and drags them off to have them help beat Joseph and unfuck the messes they all made! Here's some fun bits on this with dear ol Em!

-John was the first one she dragged along. He hated it, but it wasn't like he was going to miss up on an opportunity to skip out on death. Tried to use the flimsily holographic sticker as a way to get what he wants. That was shot down fast.

-Faith was next. She was less aggressive than John about it, as with the traumas and manipulation of the cult, she was more than happy to help a cause that would take them down entirely. It just took a near death experience to turn her views around. She was the quickest to befriend for this reason for Em.

-Jacob was the epitome of 'Why is it in a cage? Because it growled at me...' arguably the hardest to get to be compliant. Thankfully a bit more relaxed due to the fact his little brother John was present, but it wasn't enough for a small while. During this time of "taming the beast", Em found that he takes wolf documentaries like a baby takes sensory videos. Will stare mindlessly at the phone for hours.

-Upon any of the resistance members questioning Em on her inclusion of the Seeds of all people in their fight, she simply says "We're with the IRS!". This tends to just confuse them enough to keep them quiet.

Industrial!Silva and Azriel's relationship with Joseph Seed pre and post revelations

Pre-Revelation that Azriel is Joseph's daughter:

Silva and Joseph: Silva desires to cut off his resources and hopefully force him into a peace so they can end the conflict without much bloodshed. Has some respect for him as an authoritative figure like herself but not by much. From what she's seen so far, he's a better prophet than Adam Omar, so he has that going for him.

Azriel and Joseph: Azriel doesn't like Joseph much at first and doesn't really pay that much attention to what his whole schtick is. While she does kind of understand what it is like to move from one bad foster home to another, and how little she likes the present society, she thinks Joseph is kind of overreacting a bit.

Post-Revelation that Azriel is Joseph's daughter:

Silva and Joseph: Any first-impression small respect Silva had for Joseph had already been dwindling the more the Reaping kept on, but she remained on her path to at least hand him over to the authorities when everything was over. However, this all changed the moment Joseph told Silva the story of his wife's death and the sacrifice of his daughter (who she finally realises is Azriel due to the too similar backgrounds between Azriel and Baby Girl Seed; dead birth mother due to car crash, premature birth, father having been led in the room but had disappeared much to the confusion of the hospital staff, Azriel's unexplained night terrors of suffocation, and Azriel's own physical similarities with Joseph and his late wife). Now Silva wants to end Joseph before he can steal manipulate Azriel with the truth, which comes from a place of selfish desire (she raised Azriel since she was 9, for eleven years, and Joseph's biological connection threatens that relationship and bond) and genuine fear for Azriel's safety under Joseph (after all, he did listen to the Voice to sacrifice Azriel, who only survived by pure miraculous chance).

Azriel and Joseph: Azriel would be... in a state of conflict I suppose. She'd probably feel shocked, disgusted, lost and vindictive. The one person who had any relations to her, who was supposed to love her unconditionally, who was supposed to raise her like "the normal kids" (as Mr Rivers would say), the one adult who she was dependent on as a premature infant who also abandoned her (this is Azriel's go-to assumption as she doesn't know the whole truth of what really happened when she and Joseph were alone together in that room) was back in her life, and by pure chance no less. Also sharing overzealous and uncaring qualities with Omar's Guard who spread pain and misery while hiding behind the Freudian Excuse mantra of "God's Will". Probably also seeks him out for answers; like why did he abandon her? Why was she so unworthy of his love that he would leave Azriel to fend for herself? What was more important to raising her? What made her unlovable to him? (If you haven't guessed already, Azriel has deep-seated abandonment issues and resentment towards everything, especially to herself and her inability/failure to be "perfect" to everyone. Which is why she's so close to Industrial!Silva; Silva is patient, reassuring and constantly supportive of Azriel, while also giving Azriel her own independence and time to grow herself. To help, Azriel is a foil to John and a little bit of Faith as well, just as this Silva is a massive foil to Joseph and a little bit of Jacob, though Paul solely takes the title as Jacob's foil in FC:EIR).

Kind of short, I know. Might make separate posts in regard to Industrial!Silva and Azriel's relationship with the rest of the Seeds (can either be pre or post revelations too) if you guys want. I can also make an attempt at writing how the Seeds relationships with Industrial!Silva and Azriel is too, but I'm still not exactly confident in my ability of portraying them in a scenario as speculative as "Joseph's daughter lives and grows up being raised under a (crime lord) revolutionist from age 9 to 20, and eventually meets her bio father during the Reaping without even realising it". But if anyone wants to reblog/repost/tag me and send your own insight on how the Seeds would react to "secret revolutionist (with criminal connections in the Underworld) by pure chance has been raising Joseph's very much alive daughter for eleven years, who is now a destructive force of chaos" feel free to do so. "No, I turned down Mr. Hedge-Fund-Heir because I saw through your plan for both of us and wanted no part of it once it blew up in your face." Candice waved her off, "I closed the deal, by the way. Quite well, if I may say so myself." "I'd rather not be updated on your dealings, mother. Plausible deniability and all that." Her gaze narrowed at the words, "What I do is perfectly legal, you know that, darling."

So ended up writing another FC5 WIP, in which case my villainous OC, Paul Yellowjack, decided to pull off a Kenjaku move (Jujutsu Kaisen reference + spoilers for the manga and season 2) and hijacked Joseph’s body. If you feel the need to read more, go on ahead and continue on reading below the cut:

For those unaware, here’s a character summary on who Paul Yellowjack is; Paul was the man who adopted and raised a ten-year-old Silva Omar after saving and repeatedly encountering her in the Minas on the Archipelagos. They both lead the Tumultite revolt against their oppressors, the Congregation of Adam’s Guard, and spent almost a decade in this civil conflict. However, not even two weeks after Silva’s daughter Persephone was born, Adam’s Guard committed a massacre against the Tumultites, the violence and warfare separating Paul and Silva as both tried to get as many of their people as they could off the Archipelagos. Silva was only successful with getting her sister and daughter out, and Paul thought Silva had been killed. Between 2010 and 2015, Paul answers what he describes as “The Call”, a supernatural, almost divine contact between himself and some eldritch being, referred to as the Orchestrator, or Zachariah. He soon founded the “Apostles of Zachariah”, and became the “Herald of Suffering”, adopting five other individuals to fill out certain roles. This cult hid behind the façade of just a well connected institute of organised crime, hiding the more pious beliefs from the global government’s attention. Hiding under a radar of predictability and familiarity to turn attention away from the darker truth, almost becoming invisible except for the parts that needed to be seen. In 2015, while scouting out some Apostle spies reports on a local cult's production of some kind of hallucinogenic drug (that one of his fellow heralds, Zhan Tiri, wanted) in Hope County, he encountered Silva and Persephone. He made contact with them and attempted to persuade her to join his community (cult), but Silva declined, though was open to seeing Paul more often. This did not appease Paul, and both himself and the Apostles kidnapped Persephone to push Silva into a chase to force her to see the benefits of the Apostles. All they managed to do was push her to dismantle their operations, kill five of his fellow heralds, and end up driving the Apostles to near extinction. Paul retaliated by killing Persephone (an act he deeply regrets and resents himself for), which in turn caused Silva to kill him, not that he blamed her.

Even at death's doorstep, he found no rest. Zachariah kind of reincarnated/revived him (and the rest of the heralds... though they were tasked with different missions) with the same mind and memories, but a new-ish form. Paul consciousness was forced to become a hivemind of yellowjacket wasps, who's could replicate asexually only if they had a host body to control and turn into a mobile hive, as well as a source of food (they require meat to keep up energy). Usually hosts would be corpses not long after, and though the body will begin to naturally rot, the Paul's wasps can spread out pheromones and whatnot to create the illusion of a regular person who smells good and not like a corpse. Though he avoids cameras and other recording devices as pheromones aren't very effective against electronic devices. The wasps also reconstruct the corpse to at least look like Paul. He's also the main antagonist prominent in the Far Cry New Dawn fic (+ Silva's Hope sequel), Old Dusk.

Anyway, the idea of Paul pulling off a Kenjaku move against Joseph came from a deep pondering on what Paul would have done if he was present in Hope County around the time the Reaping was coming up, three years after Silva "killed" him, especially since Silva would be there as well. And the conclusion I came to was that Paul would win. He would burn down Eden's Gate, destroy and taint Joseph's reputation as the prophet who wanted to save everyone, manipulate Silva to become her best (almost worse) self, use the ruins of Eden's Gate with whatever and whoever remained, then rebuild and crown it as the newest chapter of the Apostles of Zachariah... all as an elaborate plot that ultimately makes Paul the hero Silva remembers and brings her back to his side again, while appeasing Zachariah. And to just punish Joseph (Paul hates prophets).

How in the world does Paul achieve this? Well, he sends one of his wasps to take over Joseph's body (after sufficient recon and observation allows him to have a good idea on how Joseph and his dynamics work), though not kill the brain immediately (as that would cause the body to die and rot, which he can't afford), instead putting Joseph's consciousness in a state of helplessness as patriarch watches and hears everything Paul does and says in his own body. Paul would proceed to puppeteer everyone around him until events unfolded in ways he wanted. And since no one in the county is none-the-wiser on Paul's presence or existence, and with him being a rather gifted leader (plus a cunning strategist), there's literally no one to stop him. The only downsides is that he will have to cause Silva great distress, but he sees it as worth it to make her stronger (he doesn't feel as bad for doing it to Eden's Gate and the Hope County residents), and even as Joseph, he has no clue on how to access or control the Bliss (he can control Joseph's body but has no way of accessing memories), so he kind of needs Faith to stay out of Silva's hit list while also pushing Faith to distrust Joseph enough to feel her life could actually be in danger. He will try to do the same for John (as he does have potential, though depending on his actions and how Silva feels about him, Paul will either recruit him or leave him to his fate), though Jacob to Paul is an impressive pawn, but a lost cause overall (since (a) Jacob would follow only Joseph and Paul doesn't plan to spend the rest of his life as Joseph, (b) out of all the Seeds, Jacob would likely notice something off about how Joseph and might try to expose Paul some way, somehow and (c) Paul needs Silva to be stronger and alive, so may as well play with Jacob's sense of sacrifice in order to improve Silva's chances of living and siding with Paul).

Paul's crafty, and he knows Silva very well, so he'll portray Joseph as someone she would never under any circumstances let live, while secretly spreading worse rumors as himself to ensure Silva kills Joseph's body and accepts the Apostle's creed as she initially refused to and denied it years beforehand.

So yeah, Paul's just gonna put Joseph through the wringer, get Silva back and win for once.

How does your OC act while they’re getting a tattoo? Do they grit their teeth and deal with the pain, do they need to hold onto something while getting inked, etc.?

Her first tattoo wasn’t horrible, but she did have to hold onto Jacob as she got it done, and she did shed a tear. Her pain tolerance is pretty weak in comparison to his. In the end it was totally worth it.

Would your OC ever get a face or hand tattoo?

A face tattoo is a definite no from her, but a hand tattoo wouldn’t be so bad. Thing is, she works as a politician in her Far Cry 6 era, so it would look bad on her part have visible tattoos, such as on her hand(s). Especially on the face.

She has a portrait of (a way younger) Jacob on her left arm, like Joseph’s one of his wife Faith. Unlike his though, it’s in full color. Selená wanted something to remember Jacob by, should they ever split or he die at war, not just in pictures and memories. Also to show off her love to him.

She would like to get a Taino tribal tattoo (she has Taino/Arawak ancestry!) along her entire lower right arm as a nod to her heritage, and perhaps something related to Oluwa on her thigh. If she didn’t work in politics, she’d definitely get the flag of Yara done on the side of her neck. She loves her country but it is a huge hot mess lol.

Yes, unfortunately, that parent is Father Omar, who treats Elsa's older sister Silva like shit, treats Elsa herself with little respect while expecting her to conform to a "traditional" role, and is a serial killer that has killed several other pairs of siblings neither Elsa or Silva will the chance to meet.

12. Yes, her older half-sister Silva. They're the best of friends. And trauma survivors. Though she is saddened she'll never get to meet the numerous pairs of siblings Father Omar disposed of.

13. Nope. Hell, both Elsa and Silva don't even know who their egg donating mothers are. Though she is best aunt to Persephone (Silva's first daughter).

32. Father Omar was very uncomforting to Elsa, and she had to be very careful about what she said and did around him or else face punishment... or even death. Al, while stern and hard to please, was far more rational to deal with, and was far more lenient to her rebellious actions than Father Omar would have been. She respected Al, and even more so after he sacrificed himself to buy her time to escape onto the docks.

33. She listened to Father Omar (life or death after all), but was far more comfortable doing her own thing when around Al (it amused him too).

35. Al gave help when she asked him for it on complex work that Omar would not have approved of if he found out. Father Omar only gave Elsa the basics to work with while never helping her on anything else.

Just so people know, I’m just gonna be info-dumping character and story information on my little Far Cry 5 fanfic universe in the next 3 to 6 hours.

What I have so far is:

- Paul’s and Silva’s twisted and toxic father-daughter relationship.

- Judge!Silva and Reverend!Silva’s relationship with the Voice/Philip.

- The biographies on the various versions of Silva.

- How Father Omar and Joseph Seed are foils.

- Reverend!Silva’s Curse.

- The unorthodox partnership between John “the Baptist” Seed and Kamski “the Good Doctor” Neon and how it is more plot relevant than it initially seems.

- The unexpected yet interesting romance between Silva and Faith.

- Azriel and the dilemma of wanting to get answers from her father, Joseph Seed, but afraid she’ll lose her (adoptive) Mamá, Industrial!Silva in the process (since the Tumultite ideology conflicts with Eden’s Gate).

- The conflict between Eden’s Gate and Tumult’s values, beliefs and attitudes.

- And the overall main story that takes place in Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn.

Additionally will include a post describing the Guards of Omar as well as the Apostles of Zachariah, and how both the Resistance and Eden’s Gate would (in your opinion, canonically and realistically) react to accidentally bringing both of these faction’s attention to the county (not really either of their fault, as no one could have predicted, respectively, a mass murdering death cult and a militaristic religious extremist group (whose dubious morality put Eden’s Gate to shame) would have been passing by at the time Hope County was in the early midst of their conflict), maybe some things surrounding my deputy OC Silva, and whether or not both Eden’s Gate would come to an agreement for temporary truce/team up in order to survive these two third parties before they kill everyone or stall long enough for the Collapse to finally make an appearance.
