Sanatani Saints
PART 1
I will be starting a new Series on Hindu saints who have inspired many people and guided their disciples towards moksha.
Most of the contents are choosen excerpts from the internet. I will be adding my lines too.
I'm choosing Neem Karoli baba today.
Neem Karoli baba was born in wealthy brahmin family. It is believed that Maharajji had acquired all the knowledge by the time he was 17 years old. It is said that Lord Hanuman was his Guru. He visited many places in India and was known by different names in different states. During his visit to Maa Tara Tarini Shakti Peeth in Ganjam, the local people addressed him as Hanumanji, Miracle Baba.It is said that once Baba was travelling in a train. He did not have a ticket. Due to which the TT officer caught him. Since he did not have a ticket, the officer asked him to get down at the next station. The name of the station was Neem Karoli. The village near the station is known as Neem Karoli. Baba was made to get down from the train and the officer ordered the driver to drive the train. Baba did not go anywhere from there. He sat down near the train with a tong on the ground. The driver tried a lot but the train did not move ahead. The train was not moving at all. Then all the people sitting in the train said that this is Baba's wrath. The reason for making them get off the train is that the train is not moving. Then the senior officer who was familiar with Baba apologized to Baba and asked both the driver and the ticket checker to apologize to Baba. Everyone together convinced Baba and apologized to him. After apologizing, Baba respectfully sat on the train. But he put a condition that a station will be built at this place. So that it becomes easy for the villagers to come by train because people used to come there from miles away. Only then they could sit in the train. They promised Baba and a station named Neem Karoli was built there. From here the miraculous stories of Baba became famous and from this place Baba's name started becoming known all over the world as Neem Karoli Baba. From here Baba got the name Neem Karoli.
He inspired many people such as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. Neem Karoli Baba was a lifelong adept of bhakti yoga, and encouraged service to others (seva) as the highest form of unconditional devotion to God. Baba would say that attachment and ego are the greatest hindrances to the realisation of God and that "a learned man and a fool are alike as long as there is attachment and ego in the physical body." He would advise people to surrender to God's will above everything else so that they might develop love and faith in him and thereby be free of unnecessary worries in life.
He was an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman.

Below is one of my favorite bhajans which reminds me of him.

Beatles Asks - 3, 7 and 13 please!
I'm gonna do these separately because it's a lot.
3. Whatâs your opinion on The Beatles wives?
This is a very broad topic.
Cynthia: I read Cynthiaâs book John: A Biography. Of course, any book like this has to be take with a grain of salt, assuming some level of self-interest and faulty memories. Even so, my heart really goes out to her after reading this. I believe she and John were truly in love. The pics of them together are always really cute. But I kind of doubt they would have married if she hadnât gotten pregnant. Either John fell out of love or was too fucked up in general, or his mental issues were exacerbated by Beatlemania and later, heavy drug use, for the marriage to last long. He neglected Cyn and Julian horribly and was a gigantic asshole. For example, he hounded her to take acid and then, when she finally did and had a bad trip, he completely neglected her and left her alone to suffer. She says she even considered suicide during that trip. And donât even get me started on the divorce. He really mistreated her. Granted, he was probably emotionally incapable of treating her with humanity, given his mental health issues. But he was just horrible and acted unforgivably.
Pattie: I also read the George part of Pattieâs book, Wonderful Tonight. She seems fine. I donât have any feelings about her one way or another. Theyâre cute together. Both she and George were so young then. George was a shit near the end, of course.
Yoko: You know, who really knows what was going on between her and John? I do think they were genuinely in love. But I also think, in May 1968 when they got together, the relationship offered transactional benefits to both of them. She obviously wanted to snag a Beatle and become famous. Sheâd been stalking John for a pretty long time. And John desperately needed a âguruâ to give he life structure and focus. He was really flailing after India, clearly in mental distress after losing Brian (and Whatever Happened In Indiaâą which may have involved John feeling like heâd lost Paul somehow) and doing huge amounts of acid again. (Enter my theory that he had borderline personality disorder where you latch on to an Important Person to provide your identity.) Both of them were all on board with a codependent, all-consuming relationship. She doesn't seem like a particularly nice person, what with the stories about her ordering around Apple employees like they were her personal servants. She also seems very manipulative, but then again, so was John. Personally, I cannot stand her "singing" (I study classical singing, so...it's just painful to listen to.)
Skipping to the seventies, my impression is John wanted Yoko to control his life and she did, Â Â Â Â although they also seemed to enjoy playing power games with each other. I donât know why he went back to her after the Lost Weekend, but I assume part of it was a need to give up control to another person. Itâs hard to tell if they were still in love in the seventies. I would love to find out what was really going on between them in this period because thereâs such a drastic difference in opinions, like âhappy, bread baking house husbandâ narrative vs. âdepressed, in bed getting high and watching TVâ all the time narrative.
Linda: I do think there was a bit of the starfucker in her but she and Paul were obviously in love and devoted to each other, as far as we can tell. No other thoughts. I don't really know much about her. Iâm grateful for all her photos of Paul. :)
Later Paul wives: no opinion, I donât know enough.
Olivia: same. I'm glad she and George were able to have Dhani.

Remembering the legendary singer #GeetaDutt on her birth anniversary (23/11).
âJaane kya tune kahi, Jaane kya maine suni, Baat kuchh ban hi gayinâ
Geeta Dutt, born as Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri on November 23, 1930, was a famous Indian singer. She was known for her work in Hindi movies and Bengali classical music. She was born in Faridpur, which was part of India before it was divided. Geeta was one of ten children in a rich family. Her family moved to Calcutta and Assam in the 1940s because of the Partition of India.
When she was 12, they moved to Bombay, and she continued her education. A man named K. Hanuman Prasad trained her in singing and helped her start her career in movie singing. At 16, she got her first chance to sing in a movie called Bhakta Prahlad.
Geeta met a film director, Guru Dutt, while recording songs for a movie. They fell in love and got married in 1953. They had three children.
Apart from films, she also recorded songs that were not for movies, working with famous music directors.
In 1957, her husband started making a movie with Geeta as the main singer, but it was stopped early. Their marriage had problems, and Geeta started drinking.
Guru Dutt died in 1964, which was a big shock for Geeta. She had financial troubles and tried to restart her singing career. She acted in a Bengali movie in 1967 and sang in another movie in 1971. Her last performance was in 1972 in an unreleased movie.

The Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust works 365 days a year to lug our Paras Guruâs vision forward. We have helped more than 10 lakh Needy, and thanks to Maa and our Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji of Sanatan Dharm, this number is steadily rising. And it is the grandeur of Sanatan Dharm that we strive to assist those who cannot afford to pay for their education or who are food insecure.
Because we usually hear the quote âUnity is Strengthâ in everyday life, the Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust would like for you to join our family. We are certain that if we all work together as a single family, we will be stronger and more committed to helping more people in need. Serving an increasing number of individuals in need will enable us to carve out a large place in the heart of our Maa. So, join the Paras Parivaar now for the chance of a lifetime to make the poor and needy smile widely.
Working hard to boost the lives of the poor and needy would also help us reduce the rate of poverty and increase the rate of education in our nation. In addition to providing aid to those in need, our Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji wants to educate them so that they may become self-sufficient and contribute to the cause. join our Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust and aid those in need and destitute with what they need for food, shelter, and education.
Goddess Durga is celebrated every year by Indians. In a patriarchal country like India, feminine energy is celebrated through this festival. From the Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust we all wish you a very Happy Navratri.
These 9 days are the most auspicious for Indian devotees. Navratri is made up of two names. In Sanskrit the âNavâ stands for number 9 and âratriâ means Night. This Navratri is called a Sharad Navratri and is celebrated in the month of Ashwin i.e. September or October. Navratri is a nine-day celebration of the incarnations of Goddess Durga. It often ends with the festival of Vijayadashami or Dussehra. Celebration of this festival varies across the country. 9 days represent 9 incarnations of Goddess Parvati. Jai mata di is the most famous and loved greeting spoken during Navratri.
First Goddess Shailputri:
The name of the first goddess worshiped during Navratri is Shailputri. She is the representation of power and bravery. Shailputri is wearing red colored clothes.
Goddess Shailputri was the daughter of Himalaya, and in Sanskrit Himalaya is called Shail, due to which her name was Shailputri, apart from this the Goddess Name is also known as Vrishorudha, Hemvati. Himalaya Raj is a symbol of steadfast and strong resolve. It is very important to have a firm resolve on the path of devotion. Strong determination on the path of worshiping and meditating on God, makes our path easier. By joining Paras Parivaar you can increase your inner knowledge of Spirituality.
According to a famous belief and by Paras Bhai, it is said that Shailputri is also known by the name of Sati. A yagya was organized by Satiâs father Prajapati Daksh. In this Yagya, an invitation was sent to all the Gods and Goddesses but this invitation was not given to Lord Shiva. Sati believed that she and Mahadev would also be invited by her father, but it did not happen. After this, Goddess Sati started repeatedly requesting Lord Shiva to go to the Yagya. God did not allow Sati to go because she was not invited. Because Sati was not convinced, Lord Shiva gave her permission to go.
After getting permission, Sati reached her fatherâs house, then she went there and saw that no one was giving her respect and honor. Apart from her mother, no one talked to her properly. All her sisters and friends are also making fun of her and Lord Mahadev. Not only this, Prajapati Daksh himself was also insulting her and Lord Mahadev. Sati became very upset after this kind of environment and this kind of behavior of everyone hurt her.
Maa Sati immolated herself in the sacrificial fire. When Lord Mahadev came to know about this, he destroyed the sacrificial fire in his fierce anger. Even Prajapati Daksha himself had not imagined this step of Sati. Lord Mahadev was burning in the flames of immense pain and anger. Goddess Sati took her next birth in the Himalayas, where she was again married to Lord Mahadev.
Shailputriâs abode is believed to be in Kashi, Varanasi. An old temple of Goddess Shailputri is established at this place. According to the popular belief, the devoteesâ sorrows are relieved just by seeing Shailputri Maa. It is also said that if devotees visit maa Shailputri on the first day of Navratri, their marital life becomes good and all the problems and troubles arising are eliminated.
The vehicle of Goddess Shailputri, who is worshiped first during Navratri, is Taurus. For this reason, it is also called Vrisharudha. Devi holds the trident in her right, and lotus in her left hand.

He does not recognise anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.
The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God. It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji says, "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord."
The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a Knuckle-duster for hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of the British Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand.

On July 7, 2024, I celebrated Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024 with my mother, aunts, and cousins. It was a mesmerizing event at the Shri Shri Rukmini Dwarkadhish, the ISKCON Dwarka, Delhi temple.Â
It celebrated the mango festival and gave up mangoes as prasadam. We were not fortunate enough to get the mangoes, being in line.Â
But when Krishna saw us with empty hands, he showed all of us flowers and sweets as prasadam. We were beaming with happiness and satisfaction.
However, let's get to today's topic and discover why Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is the heart of all living beings.
What are the 7 most popular Krishna temples?
Lord Krishna, the enchanter, is believed to be the greatest philosopher. He preached the biggest philosophy book, the Shrimad Gita, to Arjuna and allowed the world to know who he was and live a grounded life following righteousness.Â
Several popular temples are dedicated to Lord Krishna, but today we are talking about the top 7 most popular ones. Let's dive!
Prem Mandir
Prem Mandir is dedicated to love, Krishnaâs Radha.Â
It is situated in Vrindavan, where Radha and Krishna grew up.Â
Guru Kripalu Maharaj dedicated the temple to the Lord and eternal love between a devotee and the Supreme Being.Â
Prem Mandir is built with white marbles that make the temple look like heaven. It is spread across 54 acres and offers its devotees spiritual and educational knowledge so that they can get close to the Lord. ISKCON Temple

The shrine runs a movement, Krishna Consciousness, through ISKCON temples worldwide. ISKCON refers to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.Â

Dwarkadhish Temple is situated in the city of Dwarka, in the holy state of Gujarat. It is the capital of Lord Krishna, where he lived with his Ashtabharyas.

Lord Vishnu rests here as Krishna, the prime deity of the temple.
The shrine is also known as the Dwarka of South India. It was built in Kerala, and it is believed that Lord Brahma worshipped Lord Krishna here.
Jugal Kishore Temple
Jugal Kishore is the eternal and youthful Krishna. Lord Vishnu rests here as a young boy who likes to prank and play with his friends.
Jugal Kishore Temple, built in Mathura, is a peaceful shrine and one of the oldest. The temple is also known as Kesi Ghata and is built with red sandstone. It is mesmerizing and huge.
