After being chased by a force of Young Irelanders and their supporters, an Irish Constabulary unit raided a house and took those inside as hostages.…

This year’s State National Famine Commemoration takes place at the Famine Warhouse 1848 in Ballingarry on Saturday, 30 September. Attendees need to be in Ballingarry or The Commons  by 1pm from where they will be bused to the site. An Taoiseach, the army, and ambassadors to Ireland will be present. All are welcome.
