Tumblr media
A Call for Unity in Defense of Life
In a remarkable show of solidarity, pro-life advocates are preparing to gather in Mandaluyong City on December 8 for an interfaith prayer and march. The event, in honor of the Feast of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, is set to emphasize the significance of life and rally against any form of harm to humanity.   Pro-life Philippines Foundation President Highlights Purpose Bernard Canaberal, President of the Prolife Philippines Foundation, expressed the importance of this occasion as an opportunity for the community to unite in promoting the sanctity of life. In an interview with Church-run Radio Veritas, he urged advocates of pro-life and those involved in family and life ministries across religious denominations to join the cause. "This gathering is much attuned to the realities of our lives these days," he emphasized.
A Day of Commemoration Begins with Mass
The event is scheduled to commence with a Mass at 7 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ortigas Center. Following the solemn service, participants will embark on a march to the EDSA Shrine, symbolizing a collective stride towards a more life-affirming society.   Ecumenical Prayer for Unity Canaberal revealed that an ecumenical prayer would play a pivotal role in the event, with representatives from various religious denominations joining in solidarity. This diverse gathering aims to foster a sense of unity beyond individual beliefs and affiliations.
"A Walk of Gratitude" – This Year's Theme
The theme for this year's gathering is "A Walk of Gratitude for Life, the Filipino Family, and Global Peace." The chosen theme reflects a deep acknowledgment of issues that resonate with everyone's lives, transcending cultural and religious boundaries.   Parañaque Bishop Emphasizes Collective Responsibility Bishop Jesse Mercado, the President of the Family and Life ministry of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and spiritual director of Prolife, encouraged Christians to actively participate in the event. In a statement, he expressed hope that the gathering would inspire unity in devotion to life, family, and world peace, sending a powerful message of hope to the world. In the spirit of shared values and a commitment to a brighter future, the Pro-Life Advocates' interfaith prayer and march promise to be a momentous occasion, fostering unity and hope among participants of diverse backgrounds.   Sources: THX News & Philippine News Agency.
