“Ugh. Quinn.” You looked over at your husband. You had just gotten sick for the second time that morning, and you were feeling worse by the minute. “Quinny.” You moaned painfully again.

“Honey?” Quinn woke up rubbing his eyes hearing you call out for him from the bathroom. He looked over and saw you haunched over the toilet with pale clammy skin. “What’s wrong?” He rushed over to your side.

“What do you think Q? I’m -” You were cut off once again by another wave of nausea, making you cough up the contents of your stomach once again. Quinn just sat there on the side of the bathtub holding your hair back, and rubbing small circles on your back.

When you were done, Quinn carried you back to bed. He didn’t need to take your temperature, he already knew you were sick and that your temp would be high.

Just then baby Beck started to cry, a ‘wake up mom I’m hungry cry’. You try and sit up only to have your husband gently push you back down onto the bed.

“I need to get the Beck.” You try to get up again, and Quinn pushes you down once again. “Q, please. I don’t feel good and my baby is crying and he’s hungry. If I don’t get him soon, he’s going to wake up Hattie and then she’s going to be crabby for the rest of the day.” You were starting to get a little worked up, you hated hearing your children cry.

“No you need to rest. I’m going to feed Beck, then I’m going to call in and tell them that I can’t come in today. I’ll check in on you in a bit.” The tired father of two rubbed his eyes getting up to get the six-month-old baby boy.

“Don’t forget that you have to heat the milk up with warm water.” You wanted to go get the hungry baby but you also knew that Quinn would be able to handle his own.

“Yeah. Yeah. I know.” Quinn mumbled walking out the door.

Mid Morning

“Hattie girl, what are you doing?” Quinn ask his daughter, who was currently coloring in one of her coloring books.

“Nothing.” She giggled looking at her father. Hattie had taken the stickers from her coloring book and placed them all over her face and arms.

“Trix, those are going to hurt to get off.” he looked over to her and saw what she was doing.

“No they won’t.” She continued to place stickers on her arms.

“Well then don’t come crying to me when it’s time to take them off.” Quinn went back to making macaroni and cheese for lunch.

After Nap Time

“Beck Elias Hughes, stay still. Why do you have so much energy? You literally just woke up.” Quinn muttered to himself as he tried to keep the baby still long enough to take the diaper off and put a new one on.

“I will pay you money if you stay still young man.” That seemed to get Beck’s attention because he sat still long enough for him to get the dirty diaper off.  He was just grabbing the new diaper when he felt something warm on his other hand.

“Dude. Really? I thought we out grew this months ago, don’t be like your uncle” He groaned quickly getting the new diaper on before Beck made more of a mess. The baby just giggled and smiled at his daddy. “Yeah you think that’s funny? It’s not. How does Mommy put up with you and all your silliness?” Quinn joked once he was done and washed his hands.

Before Dinner

“What would you like for dinner Trix?” Quinn asked the little girl who was playing with her dolls quietly in the living room. How he had managed to stay sane today while he played Mr. Mom, he will never know. But he made it this far and it was going good so far.

“Mac and cheese.” Hattie looked up at him and smiled widely. She loved mac and cheese. She loved it so much she could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner if they would let her.

“No. You had that for lunch. How about we have pizza or something like that.” Quinn suggested holding Beck on his hip as he looked in the freezer eyeing all the food choices in there.

“NO. Mac and Cheese.” Hattie yelled, she was not going to give in. She wanted her noodles. Even though she had them earlier, she wanted them again.

“Hattie Beatrix. We’re going to have pizza. I know you like pizza. Why don’t you come over here and help me choose which one we should have.” Quinn just chose the entree. He knew his daughter would eat it, she wasn’t a picky eater, and she would like it.

“Ugh fine.” Hattie got up from her spot and trudged over to her father. She wasn’t too excited about this idea, but she was starting to get hungry. “Pepperoni.” She pointed to the froze pizza box her father held out for her.

Bed Time

Shortly before the kids were supposed to be in bed, you were starting to feel a lot better, and you had decided that you would say goodnight to the little kiddos and tell them how much you loved them. You had gotten to Hattie’s door when you stopped and heard the conversation that was going on.

“Daddy?” Hattie snuggled into bed.

“Yes Trixie?” Quinn came over to her bed and sat down on it.

“Can you tell me a story?” She asked rubbing her eyes. She was tired, but still wanted a nighttime story to lull her into sleep mode.

“What do you want the story to be about?” He was still holding the baby, who didn’t want to go to sleep either. He started coming up with fun little stories to tell his daughter. But the answer she gave her was the most surprising thing.

“Tell me about when you fell in love wif Mommy.” She yawned, but still looked at her father.

Quinn smiled. He loved telling his daughter that story. It was his favorite. “Well, when I first met Mommy, I didn’t really like her. I thought she was Uncle Jack’s  annoying friend. And if she was being honest, she would say the same thing. But Uncle Jack would say it was love at first sight.” He continued on with the story. By the time he was done, he had two sleeping babies. He placed a soft kiss on Hattie’s head, then he went to place Beck in his crib next door.

When he exited the he finally saw you standing there. “Hey you look a lot better than this morning.”

“I feel a lot better.” You smiled wrapping your arms around his waist. “Thank you for taking care of the kids today Quinny.”

“It was nothing.” He shrugged and placed he snaked his arms around you.

“I love you.” you smiled. You wanted to kiss him but you knew you probably shouldn’t.

Quinn kissed you not caring that he might stand the chance of getting sick. He didn’t care, he had everything he ever wanted and he wanted to show you just how much he loved you and appreciated what you did with that one kiss.

“I love you too.”

Sylvester Stallone's dog, Butkus, starred in Rocky and Rocky 2. Before Sylvester became famous, he had to sell his dog in front on a 7-11. He didn't have any money and couldn't take care of his dog properly so he sold him for $40. When he sold the script for Rocky, he bought his dog back for $15,000. Thankfully, they were only apart for 6 months. To me, that would've seemed like an eternity. I'm sure that he felt the same way. . I respect and love Sylvester for his loyalty and love for his dog. Those people took advantage of his love for Butkus. That's a lot of money to ask someone to give you to get their dog back. I love that Sylvester gave them that money. He must really have loved that dog. I, also, admire him for his loyalty to family. Not only did his dog get a part in his movie, but he also gave his brother, Frank, a role as a street singer. Both Butkus and Frank are in Rocky and Rocky 2. I love the Rocky franchise. It has given me strength and perspective throughout my life. Thank you, Sylvester. I love you for that. I can't thank you enough for what you did for me. 💜💜💜

Mother’s Day in the AUs:

-Current Moms-

West Winds: Bean's been a little upset. She didn't care that he went golfing on the off day. It was more so he didn't say happy Mother's Day or get her flowers or do anything like that. Her pregnancy hormones don't help any and she ends up crying.

Family is Everything: Quinn is currently in Edmonton. He makes sure to send Mom a bouquet of flowers and gets her a necklace with Hattie's birth stone. He calls from his hotel room and they spend time together will they had breakfast.

-Future Moms-Traditions-

Lola Hughes: They spend time out side. Mason packs a picnic and they'll go on a hike or to the beach or they'll do both. They like spending time together as a family, especially since they don't really get that during the hockey season.

Nicolette.grace: Nico gets the house to herself for the day, she usually sleeps in for a bit and then gets to work on a bit of cleaning while everyone is out. Matthew takes all three kids and they go do something fun together. He'll set out an array of fancy pastries for her and a note letting her know what a good mom she is and how much they love her. At the end of the night the put on a movie and fall a sleep in a cuddle puddle.

Lover au: Kylie gets sent to a spa every year, where she can be pampered and have a relaxing day. Cole takes the twins shopping where they get to pick out gifts for Kylie.

The Photographer au: Luke gets up early with the kids and lets Maisie sleep in. Axel and Freddie make cards while he whips up breakfast. They surprise Maisie in bed and she loves it! As the kids get older they want to be more involved and help Luke make the breakfast.

Cookie Crumbles

Pairing: Daveed Diggs x Black!Reader

Summary: Daveed figures out who’s leaving crumbs in their bed

Requested: No, another Drabble that was on my mind. I've had this WIP since Emmy and Daveed’s AD House Tour, which is still my favorite house tour. Also, this is fitting given the recent news of Daveed and Emmy announcing they’re having a baby!!! Enjoy!

Word Count: 752

Daveed huffed as he wiped the cookie crumbs off the bed, he’s been meaning to talk to you about it. Daniel must be leaving crumbs behind after he’s in their room. There’s always seems to be a trail of crumbs on his side of the bed when he gets back home from work.  The only ones home right now are you and Daniel, with you and Daveed having just moved from New York to LA, the two of you were still looking for a preschool for Daniel during that time he stayed home with you.

You shuffled into the bedroom, having just entered your ninth month of pregnancy; you were taking a break from working after just ending your run with Hadestown as Persephone three months ago. Now that you and Daveed made the move to LA you were looking to get into more screen acting roles.

“Who keeps leaving these crumbs?”

“Huh, crumbs?”

“There’s always crumbs on my side of the bed. I’m not mad it’s just every day.”

“It must be Daniel; he likes to sit on your side when you’re gone.”

You groaned as you climbed into the king-sized bed.

“Oh, my bad, babe.” Daveed grabbed your hand and helped you onto the bed.

“It’s fine,” You huffed out of breath.

“I’m so ready for this baby to come out. I’m so tired, you know I had to sit down on the steps midway. My feet are so swollen. I can’t fit any of my shoes.” You mumbled Daveed smirked as he moved to the end of the bed and started to massage your feet.

“I can get you new shoes.”

“That’s not the problem, with Daniel I barely gained any weight with this one I look like a—" You moaned aloud when Daveed massaged a pressure point on your foot.

“Feel good?”

“Mhmm,”

“Let me put one in my mouth.” Daveed joked, you giggled and tried pulling your feet away.

“Stop! We’re gonna wake up Daniel!” The two of you talked about your day. Daveed filled you in Season 3 of Blindspotting and the switch from STARZ to Apple TV. You talked about your meeting with Shonda Rhimes, there’s been talks of you joining Bridgerton for the next season. Daveed kept messaging your feet until he heard a soft snore. He tucked you into the bed and kissed your forehead before going to sleep himself.

Daveed heard chewing and assumed it was their new puppy Rocky, but he knew for sure that he put Rocky in his cage for the night. He sat up to inspect and accidentally leaned on to a bag of Toll House cookies on the bed.

“Babe!” You froze mid bite hoping that Daveed was talking in his sleep.

“Babe, I see you. You the one eating cookies in bed?”

“Hmm?”

“Hmm, you heard me. You lied on your own son.” You sighed as you sat up, the cookie still in your mouth.

“I can’t help it; your baby has me craving sweets. I’ve never had a sweet tooth before.”

“My baby?”

“Yes, your baby that you put in me.”

“Oh, the one you begged me to. ‘Leave it in Daveed! I want it! I want it!’” Daveed said jokingly mocking you.

“Be quiet!” You said slapping your husband on the chest. “I usually sit on your side because I miss you.”

“Aww!” Daveed teased pulling you in his arms.

“See, this is why I didn’t want to tell you. Let me go.”

“No, it’s sweet.” Daveed landed a wet kiss on your forehead making you groan aloud.

“I’ll make sure to get rid of my evidence. Next time.”

“Hmm, can I at least get a cookie?”

“Hell no, these are mine.”

You sat in Daveed’s embrace, listening to his heartbeat. Sitting in a content silence.

“What if she’s still breech?” You asked softly, at your last appointment, the doctor was worried that your baby hasn’t rotated yet. Daveed sighed heavily and held you closer wanting nothing more than to ease your mind of that possibility.

“If she’s still breech, then we have our other plan. We’ll do the C-Section and have a healthy baby girl. If not then, we have our original birth plan and have a healthy baby girl. Either way, we’ll be delivering a healthy baby girl. Okay?”

“Okay.” Daveed kissed the top of your head you sighed contently, ready to fall asleep.

“Let me put just one toe in my mouth.”

“Daveed, shut the fuck up and go to sleep.”

Sorry everyone that I haven’t been that active on here lately, I just wanted to let my followers now its cause my older brother passed away last month unexpectedly, and my family and I have been having an incredibly difficult time with it. He was only 32, and was in a different state which makes it even harder cause none of us could get to him. It wasn’t suicide, foul play, or drug overdose. It was a complete accident, and he didn’t suffer or in any pain. So having the motivation to write has been a little difficult, but I promise I will get back to writing, and you guys haven’t got rid of me yet. I hope you guys understand, and I look forward to writing more for you guys. Also, hug your family and loved ones tightly cause you really don’t know when it’ll be your last. Appreciate the people in your life and don’t ever take them for granted💜🤍

Our yearly summer camping trip was a bit rough to start with but ended up being a ton of fun. We went to Kent Falls, got lunch at Kingsley Tavern, checked out some covered bridges and some bakeries, and of course we fished!

I love my summer camping trip with my nephews. I love it so much I’m even posting the awful picture of me with my boys. ❤️

Even though it was a great weekend, I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed tonight! The air mattress for two nights straight was not fun.

y/n was jack's friend for about five days before she met quinn. she was over at the house when she wasnt supposed to be hanging with jack and she wanted a second opinion about their conversation about cheese.

"whose that?"

"quinn."

"hey quinn do you ever like in the middle of night get hungry for cheese? and just .."

a smile grew across quinns face because he knew exactly what the pretty stranger in the living room was getting at. jack had a block of cheese in the refrigerator that was exclusively for him, he liked to take a bite from time to time.

"eat some? yeah, i might take a slice sure. the shredded stuff is too messy."

"see jack. i told you no one eats it that way."

once quinn saw her smile, he knew he was done for. she was pretty and her laugh was infectious. in the few minutes he met her she seemed perfect. he needed to get this girl in to his life. only he never learned her name.

lucky for quinn, y/n had similar feelings. she couldn't help but feel all giddy and happy when he smiled. her heart literally sank when he talked. if she believed in love at first sight this might have been it.

"who was that earlier."

"that was y/n. the new girl at school."

"there was a girl here earlier?"

jack and quinn thought they were being quiet but luke had over heard their little conversation and told their parents, effectively getting both boys in trouble. quinn didnt mind though, hed got her name and that was the start of everything.

My sister is going thru chemo. She has six treatments left before surgery.

She was scared to have us see her in a hair scarf. That doesn't bug us. She is still our beautiful sister. We had breakfast and caught up. She thought it was a little funny the way we didn't treat her any different.

"Because everyone you see every day when they see you needs to be comforted?"

And she laughed cause that's exactly the day to day she has had. But we comforted her. We gave her some time to relax. She was able to get out of her head. And then we took her to the bookstore. She complained that she didn't need to be there... and bought no less than six books.

She was a little worn out by the end of the trip and a little shaky so we followed her home and promised next time we would have brekkie and then go over to her place for boardgames so it wasn't as traxing on her. She was super happy.

There was a moment though, when she made a face - she looked like our other sister and I'm grateful we had to take seperate cars after breakfast cause i couldn't. I broke down for a minute because I had forgotten my other sister for a minute. The little sister was nice and sat quietly, telling me it was okay.

Then I ran a fever when we got home and spent the two days off sick as shit. Still sick. Head isn't attached really but I have to go to work.
