Facial Nerve Decompression Surgery in India
The facial nerve is the seventh cranial nerve, or essentially CN VII. It rises up out of the pons of the brainstem, controls the muscles of outward appearance, and capacities in the movement of taste sensations from the foremost 66% of the tongue. Sensation on the face is innervated by the trigeminal nerves (V) similar to the muscles of rumination; however the muscles of outward appearance are innervated for the most part by the facial nerve (VII) just like the impression of taste.
What are symptoms of a facial nerve problem?
Facial nerve issues may bring about facial muscle loss of motion, shortcoming, or jerking of the face. Dryness of the eye or the mouth, change of taste on the influenced side, or even inordinate tearing or salivation can be viewed also. Be that as it may, the finding of one of these side effects doesn't really infer a particular facial nerve issue; the doctor needs to make a cautious examination so as to make an exact conclusion. Manifestations of a facial nerve issue can shift in seriousness relying on the degree of the damage to the nerve.
What conditions affect the facial nerve?
Trauma such as birth trauma, skull base fractures, facial injuries, middle ear injuries, or surgical trauma
Nervous system disease including stroke involving the brain stem
Infection of the ear or face, or herpes zoster of the facial nerve (Ramsay Hunt syndrome)
Tumors including acoustic neuroma, schwannoma, cholesteatoma, parotid tumors, and glomus tumors
Toxins due to alcoholism or carbon monoxide poisoning
Bell's palsy, which is also called idiopathic facial nerve paralysis (see below); this condition is sometimes associated with diabetes mellitus or pregnancy
Decompression is a complicated procedure. It involves removing the bone that is constricting the seventh cranial nerve. This is challenging because the nerve follows a meandering path from the brain stem to the face. It travels through the temporal bone around the inner ear structures.
After decompression medical procedure, the nerve may set aside a long effort to recoup. Eye assurance is significant until nerve recuperation and eyelid conclusion happens. Individuals can continue most exercises inside about fourteen days of medical procedure.
10 days after medical procedure, the sutures are evacuated. Follow-up visits happen in interims of two months so your primary care physician can screen your recuperation.

Typically, when it comes to burn wounds, debridement is done to help the area heal by removing dead skin cells or infected areas, cleaning out any dirt or debris, and creating a clean border to decrease the chance of scarring.
The different types of scars on the face respond to different plastic surgery techniques. Plastic surgeon in Chandigarh recommends avoiding any procedures in injury cases for up to a year after the injury. This interval allows the body enough time to heal completely.

Whether the surgery is done for functional or cosmetic reasons, the choice of who will perform the process and which procedure to choose is of the utmost importance. The best plastic surgeon in Chandigarh will examine the scar on the forehead or another area of the face to decide on the appropriate treatment and will inform you about the results that can be obtained from the surgery.
nerve decompression procedure
Procedures to erase scars on the face include nerve decompression, which relieves symptoms caused by pinched or trapped nerves, including burning, severe pain, loss of sensation, and numbness.
skin grafts
This is one of the more traditional treatments for people with deeper burns. Currently it is also used in minor cases. It consists of taking a patch of skin from a donor area of the body and transplanting it to another.
Depending on the severity of the wound, the plastic surgeon in Jammu will remove the epidermis and dermis (which are the top two layers of skin) or a full-thickness graft, depending on what is required for the procedure to be successful.
The recovery time of a surgery to erase the scars on the face of burns will depend on the procedure that is applied and the skin of each person. The severity of the injury and the extent of the area that needs treatment also play a role.

Dr. Sahil Singla, Plastic Surgeon in Rohtak, recommends that in the case of burn scars, the use of expanders as a complementary treatment is a restorative procedure where the tissues suffer a thinning and an increase in their vascularization, improving the appearance of the lesion.
With these treatments it is possible to remove prominent scars, with highly aesthetic results and better appearance, which favors good aesthetic and functional results, the skin retains its color and texture.

Skull Base Surgery In India
What to expect from Skull Base Surgery in India?
The greater part of the tumors of the skull base may involve the sinuses or the ear or surrounding vascular structures. Modern Skull Base Surgery in India is carried out in association with ENT and Head Neck surgeon, Neurosurgeon, Vascular Surgeon, Interventional Radiologist.
Endoscopic Pituitary tumour removal
This is a minimially invasive surgical procedure carried out through the nose and sinuses using endoscopes, to treat and remove tumours of the pituitary gland of the brain. This is a procedure carried out jointly with the the Neurosurgeon. An insignificantly intrusive method, called endoscopic endonasal surgery, utilizes a little entry point at the back of the nasal cavity and causes little disturbance of the nasal tissues. The ENT specialist works through the nostrils with a minor camera and light called an endoscope. In both systems, openings are made in the sphenoid sinus, and sella to reach the pituitary. Once the pituitary is uncovered, the neurosurgeon expels the tumor.
Endoscopic CSF leak closure
If there is a hole in the bone and lining (dura) along the floor of the brain, CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) can leak into the nose. A minimally invasive proceure can be performed through the nose to repair this hole, stop the leak and thus prevent infection. Normally performed under general anesthesia, a specialist will work endoscopically through the nose to recognize the break and repair it utilizing muscle and other tissue from the body. CSF leaksurgery does not include cutting through the skin, as it is performed totally through the nostrils. Most patients should remain in the hospital for one to three days after surgery. A few patients may require a lumbar drain that is removed before going home.
Endoscopic Orbit and Optic nerve decopression
An endoscopic procedure carreid out through the nose to decompress the eye ball or the optic (eye) nerve. This is sometimes required to reduce pressure on the eyeball or optic nerve and help treat certain types of visual loss. The objective of optic nerve decompression is to remove a bit of the hard optic channel, in this way removing pressure on the optic nerve. This method is finished with the utilization of endoscopes (little inflexible telescopes), enabling your specialist to experience the nose and sinuses to work in this sensitive surgery with no cuts to the face.
Microscopic Facial nerve decompression
The facial nerve that controls the muscles of the face travels through the ear bone. In certain types of facial paralysis, microscopic decompression of the facial nerve is performed to remove pressure on the nerve and allow recovery. By and large, facial nerve decompression is performed through the mastoid bone behind the ear. Bits of the bone are evacuated so that the compressed facial nerve can expandand the pressure that might bring about the loss offacial motionis removed. Contingent upon the individual case, the specialist may carry out the procedure through the middle cranial fossa technique or a mastoidectomy, or both.
Glomus tumour excision
These are slow growing benign vascular tumours of the ear and skull base. Of the various options available for their treatment, surgical removal may be one such. These operations are often carried out along with a Neurosurgeon. Fruitful removal of the tumor may likewise require delicateisolation of the tumor from the carotid supply route. This bit of the methodology is to a great degree sensitive and requires the nearby collaboration of the head and neck specialist, ear specialist and, now and again, vascular and neurosurgeons.
Acoustic Neuroma removal
These are slow growing benign tumours of the hearing and balance nerve. Of the various options available for their treatment, surgical removal may be one such. These operations are carried out along with a Neurosurgeon. A neurosurgeon or neuro-otologist can remove acoustic neuromas. The suboccipital approach is performed by a neurosurgeon and the translabyrinthine approach by the Neurotologist. Since every patient and every acoustic neuroma is unique, it is imperative to discuss the treatment that offers the full scope of alternatives, including surgery, radiation, and hearing and facial nerve preservation.
