Spotlight Friday
We’re slowly gearing up for the event, so we’re putting in a little more energy! This week, we’ll be putting two of our wonderful creators in the spotlight!
Seitou
Where can we find you? (Ao3, FFN, Tumblr, etc?)
Seitou and Seitoushi on Twitter and Tumblr, Seitou and lady_date on A03, I can also be founf on Y-gallery and Buzzly.art, we don't talk about FF.net...
Who is your favorite character?
Trowa followed very closely by Sally.
Which is your favorite Gundam?
Heavyarms Custom from Endless Walts
What is your favorite episode or scene from Gundam Wing? (Show, movie, or manga)
Trowa doing olympic level gymnastics to pull a gun on Heero
What got you into the Gundam Wing fandom?
The fan content and having more people to nerd out with.
Which type of fandom media do you prefer to contribute? And to consume? (art, fics, metas, etc.)
Depend on the idea I get some are easier to do as stories some of just an image. I'd like to be able to a comic one day, but I am not a fast artist.
What is your favorite trope?
Kinkwise - Consentacles (Consentual tentacles) and A/B/O. Storywise, subversion of expectations for the characters or the audience.
Shamelessly plug the work you are most proud of and the reason why!
I just reposted this my my old DA, but I really proud of the atmosphere I built up in this image it's 10 years old but still looks good. https://buzzly.art/~Seitoushi/art/headless-horseman

Rooftop Kiss
Rating: T
Pairing: Todomomo/Todoroki x Yaoyorozu
Disclaimer: I don’t own My Hero Academia.
Word Count: 3k
Title: Rooftop Kiss
Description: Oneshot, fluff
Similar to the school festival, Class 1-A is in charge of hosting a school dance to allow students to destress and have some fun. However, Todoroki is dealing with unwanted input from Endeavor, and Yaoyorozu just can’t understand the logic behind having a dance right now. Both escape the planning to get some air and find each other alone on the roof, needing someone to talk to.
A/N: This is my piece for the @todomomo-mini-bang-2020 with Marls_Bars!!

Shouto
I can’t believe the school is having us organize another recreational function. I mean, the school festival was fun, and I definitely think it brought everyone’s spirits up, but after everything we’ve been through this year? Shouldn’t we be focused more on training our quirks and doing more to dismantle the League of Villains?
“What do you think, Todoroki?”
“Hm?”
I turn toward the voice only to find Sero and Kaminari holding up a hand painted rocket ship the size of a person.
“I thought the girls wanted a starry night theme.” I frown.
“They do,” Kaminari pipes up instantly. “But rocket ships fly through the stars, so I thought this would be a good idea.”
“Maybe you should run it by Hagakure first–”
My phone starts vibrating in my pocket, and I feel cold run down my spine.
“Hold on,” I mutter. “I have to take this.”
If I don’t answer it, he’ll only keep calling, and since I’d rather him not have called this time, that sounds like a nightmare.
“What do you want?” I ask into the phone, my voice sounding much cooler and controlled than I feel.
“Now, that’s no way to answer your phone.” His non-answer is filled with that threatening edge buried under false politeness. “I am your father, after all.”
“I’m actually in the middle of an important assignment, so if you just called to criticize my phone etiquette–”
He laughs over me, and my stomach twists. Why does everything have to be such a hassle with him?
“Of course not, Shouto, it was just a thought. I called because I want to go over your training schedule. I know your professors have their ideas, but I just can’t seem to let it go without reviewing their plans for you.”
“You mean without comparing and dismantling their plans?”
A bead of sweat drips down my left temple, and I swipe at it with my free hand. I’m frustrated enough as it is with this whole “school dance” thing we’re working on. I hardly need my dad stepping in to screw with my school work on top of it.
“You want to displace me as the number one hero, don’t you?” he asks, his voice darkening. “You want to be the top? If that’s the case, you’d be better off learning from me than from teachers who are required to train all of the future heroes. They don’t have your drive and goals and ambition in mind. Only your quirk.”
My hand balls into a fist and frost begins coating the outside of my jacket.
“I’ve already told you how I feel about your plan,” I remind him. “As much as I think I can learn from you, I also think my teachers have a lot of good insight. I’m going to continue following the curriculum laid out for me here for now.”
“Shouto.” The edge is sharper now.
“Please, don’t call me about this again. Goodbye, Dad.”
I end the call before he can lay into me again, barely resisting the urge to throw the device against a wall. I feel jittery and hot all over and like I need to freeze something or burn something. It’s so intense I think I might explode if I don’t—
“Todoroki, can you help us light some candles?” Uraraka calls from across the large room. “We want to see what they look like in these frosted jars.”
Releasing a slow breath, I feel control return to my body.
“Yeah, sure.” I start across the room toward the group of girls gathered around flowers and candles.
Maybe if I focus on the dance, I won’t have to think about Endeavor. At this point, anything is a welcome distraction.
Momo
After pulling on a large, comfy sleep shirt and some shorts, I hang my wet towel on a hook on my wall before sitting down on the edge of my bed where I begin brushing out my wet hair. I didn’t realize how helpful a hot shower could be on a day like this, but with all the party planning and decorations and the girls with their boy talk, I was feeling a little frazzled.
Just as I’m setting down my hairbrush, my phone dings with a text.
Ochako: Come to the lobby. The girls are having ice cream before curfew.
I start to text back a “sure thing, I’ll be right down” when I pause. If the girls are all together, it’s guaranteed the dance will come up as a topic of conversation, which means potential dates will follow it. The only girl with a date already is Jirou, who is going with Kaminari. (Of course, she hasn’t exactly said it, but I’m pretty sure she was the one who asked him.)
And it isn’t that I don’t want a date or that I mind hearing them talk about the boys. It’s just…there’s so much pressure to have feelings for someone and we’re in high school, and also there are other things I think we should be worrying about like our classes or our quirk training or the growing number of villains who would like to see us bloody and broken and are probably planning a new way to infiltrate the school while we’re deciding what flavor of cupcakes we should serve with the strawberry punch!
Boys just don’t seem all that important right now.
On the other hand, if I don’t go down for ice cream…they’ll probably just come up here. And talk about them then.
I sigh and send my original text back to Uraraka before grabbing a kimono and sliding into my slippers.
When I reach the lobby, Ashido is quick to scoot over on the couch to make room for me while Tsu hands me a bowl with two flavors of ice cream and a spoon.
“We have to remember to thank Todoroki,” Uraraka says as she adds a fresh scoop to her bowl.
“Why?” I glance between them.
“Oh, he froze the table so the ice cream wouldn’t melt,” Hagakure pipes up. “Then he went upstairs.”
“Has he asked anyone to the dance yet?”
I swallow my ice cream and fight the urge to groan.
“I don’t think so,” Ashido says conspiratorially. “Personally, I’d like Eijirou to ask me, though.”
“Aw! You two would be so cute together!” Uraraka squeals.
“Well, if his hair didn’t clash with your skin,” Jirou murmurs. “But that’s barely noticeable,” she says quickly.
“I like his hair,” Ashido sighs. “He looks so cool, and he has such a good heart too. He’ll be an amazing hero.”
“Do you have someone you’d like to go with, Tsu?” Hagakure angles her body toward our green-haired friend, and she looks down at her large hands.
“I have an idea,” she says, shrugging, “but he probably won’t ask me.”
“You can always ask him,” Ashido grins. “Right, Jirou?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Who is it?” Uraraka asks Tsu softly. “If you don’t mind saying.”
“Yeah,” I join in. “Maybe we can come up with a plan.”
I mean, even though boys are not at the forefront of my brain, I do like seeing people happy.
“I’d rather not discuss it really.”
“Oh, well that’s okay.”
No one pushes it, and it goes quiet for a minute before I notice Uraraka sneaking peaks at her phone and blushing.
“Is everything all right, Ochako?”
“What?” she gasps, her phone falling between her hip and the arm of the sofa. “I mean, yes. It’s fine. I’m fine.”
Well, that’s not suspicious.
“Who are you texting?” Ashido asks innocently.
“Nobody,” she blurts. “I mean, not nobody, but no one…important.”
“Oh my God, is it a boy?” Hagakure bounces on her seat. “Which one?”
“Who is it? Tell us!” Mina leans in.
“Fine, it’s…” Her face goes up in flames as she averts her eyes from everyone else’s, “Bakugou.”
Everyone stares at her for a second.
“Um…why?” I frown, breaking the silence. “What does he want?”
“I think…he’s my date?”
“What!” Ashido screeches, reaching for the dropped phone. “Let me see!”
“Bakugou on a date?” Jirou cocks an eyebrow. “That…can’t be right.”
“I don’t know!” Uraraka moans. “He’s being all cryptic, and… I could be reading this all wrong. Forget I said anything. The dance isn’t for another week anyway, and we should go to bed. We have class and more preparation stuff tomorrow.”
“She’s right,” I announce, standing up. “There’s plenty of other things we should be thinking about that aren’t boys.”
“But boys are so cute,” Ashido whines.
“They’ll still be cute tomorrow, Mina. Besides, it’s almost curfew anyway.”
“I guess you’re right.”
We take a few minutes to split up the ice cream for our individual freezers and then head to our rooms for the night. I’m relieved no one asked me if I had a date in mind. I have no idea what I would say. I think it would be fun if we all went together as a group. Then we could have fun with boys or just with each other.
I sigh as I climb under my sheets, resigning myself to sleep. These are things I can worry about tomorrow.
Shouto
“Todoroki? Todoroki!”
“Hm? What?” I blink and turn to the girls who are staring at me in between sharing looks with each other. “Sorry, what was that?”
I try not to yawn around my words. I got next to zero sleep last night because my father wouldn’t stop messaging me about his plans for my quirk training and pro career and…a few other things I really could’ve done without ever knowing about, much less reading in a text at 3am.
“Are you okay?” Ashido asks, giving me a reproachful look. “You seem a little out of it.”
“I’m fine,” I snap, immediately regretting it. “I mean, I’m just tired,” I mumble. “What did you need?”
“We were wondering if you could help us out with the refreshments for the dance. Since your frozen table worked so well for our ice cream party last night, we thought it would be a good idea to have fruit and drinks and maybe ice cream sandwiches on frozen platters or something like that.”
“Yeah,” I answer, my voice coming out as exhausted as I feel. “That sounds fine.”
“Do I need to coordinate with someone specific for that?”
“Oh, well, Yaoyorozu is in charge of the drinks and snacks,” Uraraka chimes in. “But…I’m not sure where she is right this minute.” She glances around, frowning. “Did any of you guys see where she went?”
“I asked if she had a date in mind,” Hagakure says softly. “She got all flustered and said she had to get some air. I really wasn’t sure how to take that.”
“Well, she’ll probably be back in a little bit.” Tsu turns to me. “You can just find her later.”
“Okay. Cool.” I nod and start to walk off, though I have no destination in mind.
My phone vibrates again, and I feel my hands ball into fists. It continues vibrating, and I clench my jaw, resisting the urge to answer just to hang up on him. That or melt my phone in my hand.
“You okay, Todoroki?” Midoriya steps into my red-tinted line of vision.
“I just…need a minute,” I bite out before turning and walking swiftly to the door and down the hall to the stairs.
Students aren’t really supposed to go up on the roof, but at this point, I need the quiet and the peacefulness enough to risk punishment. Taking the steps two at a time, I throw the rooftop door open with more force than is necessary, causing it to bang into the wall.
I pause when I hear a gasp, and look up to see I’m not alone. Yaoyorozu is standing near the edge of the roof, turned back toward the door with a look of surprise on her face.
“Shit,” I hiss under my breath.
“Todoroki,” she stammers, her hand coming up to her neck. “You scared me.”
“Sorry.” I shift my weight awkwardly. I mean, do I stay? I was trying to be alone. “I didn’t realize anyone else would be up here,” I continue.
“Me neither,” she sighs wistfully and turns her back to me, looking out over the campus.
“Is, um, everything okay?” I move closer to her, the door clicking shut behind me. “Hagakure said you were upset…because of a boy?”
Her face goes red, and I regret my words instantly.
“No,” she shakes her head. “I mean, she asked about my date, but I don’t have one, and I don’t really want one. I just…” She sighs and turns to face me. “I feel like this whole dance is just so risky. Like, I understood why the school festival was important—to raise everyone’s spirits and show the world we weren’t caving under pressure, but this is just…”
“A waste of time?”
“Exactly!” Her eyes widen. “I mean, shouldn’t we be focusing on training our quirks and studying, and getting as much hands-on experience under the supervision of the current pros as we can before we’re thrust out into a world full of villains who already have it out for us based solely on the fact we were students at UA?”
“Not to mention who our parents are,” I mutter.
“What?”
“Nothing. I just agree with you, that’s all.”
“It makes me so anxious,” she goes on softer, her hands coming up to rub her arms. “I haven’t been sleeping well, and if I think about it for too long I start to feel lightheaded and breathless… I thought I was going to start crying, actually, when Hagakure was talking to me earlier. That’s why I came up here.”
I swallow, and I reach up to rub the back of my neck.
“Have you, um, talked to Recovery Girl about any of this?”
She nods and takes a deep breath.
“She said it’s normal to experience anxiety after all the trauma we’ve been through. She mentioned medication and went over some breathing exercises and coping statements with me. I just wish… I wish everything would calm down.”
“I wish my father would calm down.”
“What?” She blinks and looks over at me.
“It’s not… My father has been harassing me about my quirk training,” I confess.
“He…probably just wants you to do well.”
I give her a small grin, and shake my head. “You’re too nice, you know that?”
“Well, what is it then?”
“My father…Endeavor,” I say acidly, “has my entire life planned out for me.” Down to the kind of quirk I should look for in a wife. As if I would ever do what he did. “No matter what I say to him, he’s convinced he’s going to take over my training and disregard anything he disagrees with that I’m learning at UA.”
“That’s ridiculous,” she whispers. “He’s really going to do that?”
“No,” I answer harshly, a fist forming at my side. “I refuse to be his puppet.” I sigh, and look at her directly. “I came to UA to learn how to use my quirk most effectively to be the best hero I can be, not just to show how powerful I am. I’m not like him.”
She nods, and I flinch when her hand touches my wrist.
“I know you’re not, Shouto,” she murmurs. “You have a kind heart.”
My fingers uncurl as hers slide down my palm, moving into the spaces between them. When I look down, her hand closes over mine, and I return the gesture without thinking.
“It’s getting dark,” she says softly. “The sun is almost down.”
“I hadn’t really noticed,” I murmur, my eyes still locked on our joined hands.
“We should probably go back in.”
She faces me, and my eyes jump up to hers. My stomach flips, and I feel pink heat my cheeks. Momo is really pretty. I noticed that the first time I saw her, I just…
“What is it?” she asks suddenly, pulling her hand out of mine. “Is there something on my face?” She reaches up to check, and I backtrack in a hurry.
“What? No,” I shake my head. “I, um, just, well…you said you didn’t want a date to the dance, and I wasn’t really planning on asking anyone either, so…what if we went together?”
“You…you’re asking me to the dance?” she echoes.
“Yes. If you want. Just…so you can tell the girls you have a date.”
“Oh, so…just as friends then?”
My stomach sinks with disappointment, and I shake my head again.
“Well, no, um…I mean, you don’t have to go with me if you don’t want to, of course. I just–”
“I would love to go with you,” she interrupts softly. “In fact, I have the perfect dress.”
“Oh, okay.” I start to turn away because my face is hot, and my hands are sweating, and…I feel like I’m using my fire quirk, except I’m not.
“It’s a date.”
I jerk when her lips brush my cheek, turning to watch her go as she starts past me. My hand shoots out automatically, grabbing hers and pulling her back to me.
“Todoroki? What are you?”
“Forgive me,” I murmur, my eyes fixed on her lips.
“What? Why–”
And then I’m kissing her.
Momo
I’m dreaming.
Because if I were actually and truly awake on a rooftop kissing Todoroki Shouto, my heart would stop beating, and I’d drop dead on the spot.
The kiss ends for a split second only for him to tilt his head a little and lean in again. This one is even better than before.
Wow, he tastes good. And his lips are soft. And…and…
This can’t be happening!
I push at his chest a little, and he instantly backs away.
“I’m sorry,” he rephrases his apology. “I just…needed to do that.”
I blink at him, one of my hands coming up to my lips, gently feeling them to make sure they’re real.
That I’m real.
That…this is all real and really happening.
“Yaoyorozu, are you okay?”
“That was beautiful,” I whisper.
Oh no. Am I going to cry? What is wrong with me!
“Well, um, good…” He nods, and shifts his weight, his hand fisting and unfisting at his sides. “We should probably–”
Suddenly, noise from the stairs catch our attention. Voices.
“They’re looking for us,” I murmur.
“We have to go,” he says, grabbing my hand. “If Bakugou catches us, we’ll never hear the end of it.”
“Or any of the girls,” I add.
“You have a point,” he says, pulling the door open. “What if instead of going to the dance, we bail and hide out in the dorm?”
“I…have to work the refreshments table,” I choke out at that unexpected proposal.
“Oh, well, I think I have to help you with that, so that works too, I guess.”
“I feel much calmer now,” I admit as we rush down the stairs. “Talking to you really helped.”
“It helped me too,” he mutters, his hand gently brushing the back of my waist. “And now I’m actually looking forward to this thing.”
“Yeah.” I grin. “Just don’t tell anyone I said that.”
“Your secret is safe with me.”
We hit the entrance to the great room, and we both go our separate ways.
But when I reach the other girls, my lips are still tingling. I just hope they can’t tell.

Set directly after the cultural festival. Let’s pretend that whatever happens next in the manga happens later, okay? ;)
Cold. It was cold, much too cold. Bitter winter air nipped at her neck as she shivered, trying not to fidget. “Are we done, Papa?” she pleaded, tugging on his sleeve. It was chilly outside, and Momo wanted to go inside. But Momo was a good girl, so she didn’t cry. It was hard to hold in her tears, though, while wearing nothing more than a bathing suit in December. “It’s cold.”
He hardly spared her a glance. “Quit complaining and stop acting so petulantly, Yaomomo. You’re doing this to help others. You want to be a hero, don’t you?”
“But Papa—”
“Concentrate on the formulas, darling,” he chided.
“...please, Papa?”
“Just a few more, Yaomomo. A few more...”
“Yaoyorozu.”
Momo practically fell out of her seat, jerking upwards and letting out a small gasp. She blinked in surprise, taking in her surroundings before realizing that she was in the classroom. She had stayed after class to clean up, but she must have fallen asleep, for the classroom was only dimly illuminated by the dying rays of light that filtered through the window.
How long had I been sleeping for? Moreover...
Pink dusted her cheeks. “M-my apologies, Todoroki-san,” Momo stammered, bowing her head in apology. Self-consciously, she tugged at her ponytail, pursing her lips in annoyance when she realized her disheveled state. “I’m afraid I went to bed rather late last night. Is there something you need?”
The fire and ice user pinned her with a cool stare, tilting his head ever so slightly; she could vaguely detect the concern in his eyes. “Not really,” he answered. His voice, calm and steady, was soothing, in a way. “I was returning from training and saw the lights were still on.”
He didn’t voice his concerns aloud, but Momo read his nonverbal cues well enough. It was a given, considering the months and months she spent sitting alongside her taciturn, laconic seatmate. “I’m fine, Todoroki-san,” she reassured him, flashing him a bright smile. “Really. I was helping Jirou with something and stayed up a little too late.”
That was true: Momo had explained the day’s lesson to Jirou over cups of hot chocolate the night before since Kaminari had distracted the headphones-user during a crucial part of the lecture. They had finally retired to bed around midnight, which was hardly late for Momo, but she was plagued by nightmares (memories) for the rest of a very fitful night.
Todoroki looked somewhat unconvinced, but accepted her appeasement. “Are you heading to the dorms, then?”
“A-ah, I suppose I am.”
“Mm.”
“Why don’t we walk back together?” Momo suggested, giggling nervously to cover up her anxiety. Todoroki was one of the people she admired the most, but it wasn’t just for his looks or his insanely powerful Quirk: it was for his decisiveness, his intelligence, and his kindness, which she had been lucky enough to experience herself. Compared to him, I’m…
A hand reached out and touched her shoulder. Momo nearly jumped out of her skin. “T-Todoroki-san?”
“Stop thinking, Yaoyorozu,” he ordered.
“But—”
“Stop thinking,” he stressed. She stared at him, bewildered. Something about her gaze must have unnerved him, for Todoroki glanced away. “You always have that look in your eyes when you think of depressing things,” he mumbled uncomfortably, averting his eyes. “You’re a capable leader and hero, Yaoyorozu. Stop putting yourself down.”
A small smile stretched across her face as her eyes softened. This was why Momo admired Todoroki Shouto so much.
“You’re much too kind, Todoroki-san,” she replied. Suddenly, looking at him was harder than before. It was easy to speak to him about school matters, but compliments? Feelings? Momo still couldn’t completely believe that he had voted for her of all people to be vice president.
Todoroki, as always, bluntly expressed himself. “It’s the truth.”
Momo felt her face flush. Desperately, she glanced out of the window before finding immense interest in packing up her belongings. Todoroki was silent as she grabbed her notebook and quickly stuffed it in her bag.
“I’m always worrying you, aren’t I?” she rambled nervously, turning to face him while fiddling with her hands. At this rate, Momo might even accidentally create a few matryoshka dolls considering how jumpy she was. Her shoulders slumped as she mumbled ruefully, “As Class 1-A’s vice president, I should be reassuring you, not the other way around…”
She trailed off, unsure of what to say next. Momo usually had no problem conversing with Todoroki: in fact, initial embarrassment and starstruck wonder aside, he was one of the people she enjoyed speaking with the most. Yet, for some reason, her extensive vocabulary abandoned her when her seatmate quirked a questioning, somewhat amused eyebrow at her.
“O-oh! I forgot to mention this yesterday, but the special effects at the concert yesterday were amazing!” she gushed, clapping her hands together in an attempt to hide the way her heart fluttered. Unfair...it was unfair how Todoroki Shouto could throw her off her game with a small change of facial expression. “You and the others truly outdid yourselves. The crowd loved it.”
“It was because of everyone’s efforts.” Todoroki’s voice was lined with amusement. He offered her a hand, helping her out of her seat. “You and the band cheered them up, too.”
“I'm glad that the audience enjoyed it,” she admitted warmly. “Everyone worked so hard to make it special; it'll be hard to beat that next year.”
“We'll come up with something,” Todoroki stated confidently, sliding open the door and allowing her to pass first. She flashed him a grateful smile, exiting the classroom. They silently walked down the hallway side by side, matching their footsteps in perfect synchronicity. Momo was content with simply basking in the fire and ice user’s presence, but to her surprise, he initiated a conversation.
“Yaoyorozu,” he said suddenly, drawing her attention. “If there’s something bothering you, you can always consult someone. Anyone in the class would be willing to help you.”
Momo smiled faintly. “Does that anyone include you, Todoroki-san?”
He blinked, then tilted his head and deadpanned, “Of course.”
The sheer straightforwardness of Todoroki’s statement had Momo reeling. She stared at him in surprise, which he took as confusion. “I simply considered the fact that you might feel comfortable sharing your troubles with one of your friends, so I didn’t want to be upfront and offer my assistance,” Todoroki explained, looking assured in his logic.
Momo blinked. Then, she blinked again. Finally, she doubled over, laughter escaping her lips before she could stop it. “Pfft...you’re really something else, aren’t you, Todoroki-san?” Momo giggled, her obsidian eyes shining with humor and genuine happiness. She straightened herself. “I...I don’t mean to sound presumptuous, but I already consider you as one of my friends. Why did you think I would come along to rescue Bakugou-san?”
Todoroki ducked his head. “I thought it was because of your...obligations as vice president,” he mumbled, his voice so quiet that Momo had to lean closer to hear him.
“As vice president, I was concerned about you all,” Momo confirmed, bobbing her head. “But if I was just Class 1-A’s vice president, then I would have simply warned you and gone to the pro heroes to ensure that they would take every measure to keep you all safe. Instead, I chose to accompany you all. I did that because I consider you, Todoroki-san, and the rest of them as friends.”
“...ah.”
Some, at first glance, might say that Todoroki Shouto was just like his father; he had inherited the same (ironically enough) icy glare that Endeavor possessed, after all. But throughout their time together, Momo had discovered that Todoroki’s cool countenance was nothing more than a result of his frankly pitiable social skills.
...and that was fine with her: she didn’t mind filling in the gaps of the conversation.
“You seem surprised,” Momo commented, raising an eyebrow at him.
“It’s a...pleasant sort of surprised,” Todoroki reassured her. “If it means anything at all, Yaoyorozu...I consider you my friend as well.”
Warmth surged in her chest as they exchanged miniscule, silly smiles before continuing down the hallway, each highly aware of the other’s presence.
And in that moment, Momo could almost completely forget about those chilly years of her youth.

Title: I’ll Kiss You
Description: Todomomo One Shot – hurt/comfort and fluff
Momo gets hurt in the dorm on night, and Todoroki helps take care of her.
ffn || ao3
Momo
BANG!
I jolt awake and look toward the door to my dorm room. I heard a noise, right? That wasn’t a dream that woke me. Was it?
A stare at the door for a second, debating if I imagined the sound, when I hear a loud CRASH followed by a THUNK.
Something is happening downstairs. Doors in my hallway start slamming, and I hear footsteps running past my door. Scrambling out of bed, I grab my kimono and pull it on as I slip into my slippers and go to see for myself. I run into the other girls on the stairs.
“Uraraka, do you know what’s going on?”
“It sounds like a fight to me,” she says quickly, her eyes still crinkled with sleep. “I just hope it isn’t Deku and Bakugou again. Mr. Aizawa will definitely expel them if it is.”
“Yeah. I hope not.”
Something explodes below us followed by a grunt of pain.
“Oh no,” she whispers beside me. “That sounded bad.”
“You don’t think it’s a villain, do you?” Tsu asks from behind us.
“Oh my God. I hadn’t even thought of that!”
“What is the meaning of this!” Iida’s voice booms suddenly. “It is the middle of the night!”
“Stay out of this, Four Eyes! This isn’t your fight!”
I see Uraraka’s face falls at the voice.
“Idiot,” she whispers. “I told you not to–”
She cuts off as we reach the first floor, taking in the scene in front of us. The couches are completely out of order—one being upended completely. There’s a black mark on one wall and a fist-sized hole in another. One of the window panes is shattered, but somehow still in place, and at the center of it all, Bakugou and Todoroki are facing off in their pajama pants, both with looks of determination and anger on their faces.
“I told you we should take this outside before it got messy,” Todoroki says calmly, cold air visibly rolling off his right side as the air around his left gets blurry from heat.
“Fuck that! Finish what you started, Icy Hot!” Bakugou shouts. “Or are you like your old man? Too weak to follow through. Maybe there’s a reason he’s the number two hero!”
Todoroki tenses, and I see frost starting to coat his skin. On his other side, his hair has started smoking.
“Boys, that’s enough,” I announce, stepping forward.
I have got to stop this before they raze the building.
“Yaoyorozu, stay back,” Todoroki orders. “If he wants a fight, so be it.”
“Dont be a fool,” I hiss as I move to his side, trying to grab his arm. “Have you forgotten fighting is against the rules?”
“Since when do we follow rules?” Bakugou moves behind me, and I turn to look when suddenly I’m shoved to the side. I fall into the coffee table, banging my arm. When I look back, Bakugou is on the ground, and Todoroki is shaking his hand out.
“You son of a bitch!” Bakugou starts climbing to his feet. “I’ll–”
Iida and Kaminari grab him, holing him back.
“Get out of here before I set the smoke alarms off,” Todoroki says flatly. “We’re already going to be in trouble for this damage.”
The boys drag Bakugou away, and I hear the girls starting back up the stairs as I climb to my feet.
“Yaoyorozu,” Todoroki turns to face me. “That was really dumb.”
I sigh.
“I know. It wasn’t my smartest idea to try and interrupt Bakugou during a fight. I just–”
“Oh my God,” he interrupts, “you’re bleeding.”
“What?” I follow his gaze to my arm, and I gasp at the wide streak of red on my sleeve.
How did that happen? I didn’t even feel it. I just…
“You need to sit down.” His voice is firm and calm, but I can’t take my eyes off the blood.
“There’s so much,” I whisper.
“Do you feel light-headed? Yaoyorozu!”
I sway, and he catches me, easing me onto the nearest sofa. He removes my kimono, and drops it on the ground. Normally I would be self-conscious about him seeing my nightgown. Not that there’s anything indecent about it, but usually it’s only other girls that see it. Somehow, when it’s him, it feels more…risqué.
But he isn’t interested in my clothes. He’s too focused on the gash in my arm.
“I think the bleeding has stopped,” he says softly, “but I want to clean you up. Can you make it to the bathroom?”
“Sure.”
He leads me into the boys’ restroom, half carrying me, since my semi-swoon earlier must’ve scared him. Honestly, I’m fine to walk on my own, but having his arm around me is kind of nice.
“What did you hurt your arm on?” he asks as he grabs a washcloth and holds it under warm water.
“Must’ve been the coffee table.” I clear my throat and hop up onto the counter. “I hit it when I fell.”
“You mean when I pushed you,” he corrects, bringing the cloth up to gently stroke at the drying blood on my skin. “I was just trying to get you out of Bakugou’s way. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“I know,” I tell him, reaching up to stop his hand, making him look at me. “You don’t have to say anything.”
“I’m really sorry, Momo,” he apologizes anyway, and suddenly my heart is pounding in my throat.
Wow, he’s standing really close. I can see all the flecks of silver in his gray eye. And the dark ring around his blue one.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he says suddenly, turning back to my wounded arm.
“Like what?” I whisper, trying to catch my breath.
“Like…you want me to kiss you.”
I blink and feel my face heat as blood rushes into it. Did I really look like that? I didn’t mean to.
Did I?
I mean…I don’t want him to kiss me! Right?
“Unless you really want me to.”
“What?” I look up at him again, my head spinning.
“If you give me that look again, I might not be able to help myself,” he says softly, still cleaning my arm.
“I don’t understand,” I breathe.
He pauses and looks at me again, his beautiful mismatched eyes landing on mine.
“I’ll kiss you, Momo,” he promises huskily.
I open my mouth to say something, but he turns away.
“There. All done. The cut isn’t deep, so I don’t think you need a bandage really, but if you want me to, I can–”
“No. I’m okay,” I blurt, sliding off the counter with the briefest glance at my arm. “I’ll just be going to bed now.”
“Okay. Goodnight, then.”
“Um, right.” I start for the door. “Uh, Goodnight, Todoroki.”
“And I meant what I said, Momo.”
“What?” I gasp and look back, my heart tripping over itself.
“I really am sorry for hurting you,” he says softly.
“Oh. Um. It’s nothing.” I wave it away. “You took care of it, so no worries.”
He nods, and I swallow.
“Well, see you tomorrow then.”
I leave without waiting for him to say another word. I mean, what just happened? He cleaned my cut I guess, but aside from that…
Were we flirting?
He said he would kiss me if I looked at him like that again. But I don’t even know what I was doing! What if I do it on accident? Will he kiss me without warning? Do I want him to?
I can’t think about this now. It’s the middle of the night.
I stop to grab my ruined kimono in the lounge before heading up the stairs. Dropping it in my laundry hamper, I remove my slippers and climb into bed. I pull the sheets over me, and snuggle into my pillow.
His eyes really are beautiful though, I think sleepily. I can’t decide which one I like the best.
I yawn and let my eyelids flutter shut.
All of him is beautiful. Of course, I want him to kiss me.
My eyes pop open, and I stare at my wall.
Did I really just…
I shut my eyes again, and my mind fills with the image of his face. So close to mine.
I’ll kiss you, Momo.
I roll onto my back and stare at the canopy of my bed.
“Oh no.”

Stay With Me
Rating: T
Pairing: Todomomo/Todoroki Shouto x Yaoyorozu Momo
Disclaimer: I don’t own My Hero Academia.
Word Count: 1970
Title: Stay With Me
Description: Todomomo One Shot/fluff
After curfew, Shouto stumbles upon a sleepless Momo in the common area of the Class 1-A dorm.
A/N: This was in my head. Let me know if I did okay.
ffn || ao3
Shouto
Great.
I sigh quietly as I glance at my watch on the bathroom counter. It’s later than I thought. I should know better than to shower this late, but I like the privacy. Even if I am breaking curfew. Having to sneak back upstairs to my room, on the other hand, is incredibly irritating.
Pulling at the knot at my hip, the towel I’m wearing falls to the tile at my feet, and I step into a pair of boxers. God, why is my body so sore? Must be all the extra training I’ve been doing with my flames. I still don’t feel as comfortable using my left side as I do my right. But, damn, if I’d known my shoulders and back were going to feel like this… I almost regret listening to Midoriya.
Almost.
I run the towel over my head and watch as my two-tone hair splits down the middle. I’d put more effort into fixing it, but at this point I couldn’t care less. It’s the dead of night anyway, so no one should see me. I grab my sleep pants and tank top and start to get dressed when I pause. If no one should be up but me, what’s the point? I’m only going to take them off again when I get to my room.
Throwing the wet towel in the collective hamper, I stuff my clothes under my arm and slide my feet into my slippers. I slip out of the room quietly, yawning as I enter the common area. Movement from the sofa catches my eye, and I freeze.
Someone else is up? Who could be down here? Wait. I know that ponytail.
“Yaoyorozu?” I whisper.
She turns her head suddenly as if I startled her.
“Oh. Todoroki,” she murmurs. “It’s you. I thought you were Mr. Aizawa.”
I walk closer to the couch where she’s leaning against the arm with a blanket over her legs and shake my head. “Fortunately, for both of us, I’m not.”
Her eyes widen, and I pause.
“What?” I frown, glancing behind me in case our homeroom teacher really is here about to catch us breaking curfew.
“Um…Todoroki,” she says, her face turning red as she looks down to the floor, “did you forget something?”
Oh no. I’m suddenly reminded of my state of undress, and quickly scramble to fix it.
“I didn’t realize anyone would be up,” I say rapidly, pulling on my tank top. “I was just heading back to my room.”
“It’s okay,” she says quietly.
I yank up my sleep pants and look up to see her watching me. It’s then I notice the tear streaks on her face, illuminated by the moonlight.
“Yaoyorozu, are you okay?”
“What?” She blinks.
“I mean…why are you in here in the middle of the night? Instead of asleep in your room?”
“Oh.” She glances down, and I watch her fidget with the edge of the blanket. “I…couldn’t sleep.”
Sitting down on the couch adjacent to hers, I lean forward and rest my elbows on my knees.
“Any particular reason?”
“Nightmares,” she admits softly. “Ever since I got out of the hospital, I’ve had these dreams about being back in the woods…choking on that gas. It’s always dark, so I can’t see anything, and I can’t move. Like I’m paralyzed, but I can hear the others screaming and this…laughter.”
She shivers, and I’m tempted to reach out and take her hand.
“What are you doing up?” she says after a minute. “You can’t shower during the day like the rest of us?”
“I can.” I shrug. “I just…like the privacy better at night.”
“Oh, well I guess that makes sense.”
“And…I’ve been having trouble sleeping.”
She looks up at me, and I swallow. I can tell she wants to ask, but I also know she won’t. Momo is too considerate for that. Still…
“Sometimes I dream about the Hero Killer: Stain. Other times it’s what happened in the woods. And…then there are the memories from when I was little. Like how my face got burned…”
“Todoroki.”
Her hand on my knee surprises me, and I look up.
“You don’t have to tell me,” she whispers.
“I just meant I understand.” I start to get up, instantly mourning the loss of her touch. “Anyway, I’d better get to bed.”
“Todoroki, wait,” she says suddenly. “Do you… Do you mind staying with me for a while?”
I shouldn’t. It’s after curfew and the longer we’re out of our rooms the more likely we are to get caught. Not to mention what kind of rumors will start if we’re caught breaking curfew together.
On the other hand, I can’t say no to her. I could never deny Momo anything. I’m so weak when it comes to her. Ever since we fought Mr. Aizawa together for our exam. Hell, even before that. I work so hard to be the strongest, and after just one look at her, and I’m a complete mess. Somehow, I’ve managed to fake it for this long.
“Please,” she adds softly, and I know I’m screwed.
I couldn’t tell her no under normal circumstances, but late at night, alone with her, in the dark, after she’s been crying, and she’s so vulnerable? And she’s asking me in that voice? I don’t stand a chance.
“Yeah.” I nod, giving in, even though there was no real fight in me. “I can stay.”
I watch as she shifts on the couch, making room for me beside her. As soon as I sit down, she starts to lean on my shoulder, and I wince.
“Oh, am I hurting you? I didn’t realize–”
“It’s fine, Yaoyorozu. Let me just…”
I turn so that my back is against the side of the couch and then slide my arm around her, pulling her against me so her back is against my chest.
“Todoroki,” she says softly, her breath tickling my neck.
“Just call me Shouto.”
“Okay, um, Shouto, this is…uh, a little more intimate than I was expecting.”
“Is it a problem?”
“N-no,” she squeaks, and I look down to see her cheeks blushing prettily.
“Get some sleep, Yaoyorozu.”
“Um, you can call me Momo.”
My heart squeezes in my chest, and I bite down on my lip.
“Okay,” I say as coolly as possible. “Goodnight, Momo.”
I watch as her eyes flutter closed, and then I sigh, leaning my head back against the armrest.
Momo
When I wake up, I’m confused. Why is it so bright? My curtains are room darkening. And what am I sleeping on? My cheek is pressed to something way hotter and harder than my pillow. I start to open my eyes when I hear a grunt, and I freeze.
“What time is it?” a deep voice slurs in my ear, and I look up to see Todoroki’s jaw right next to my nose.
I watch as he reaches up to pinch at his eyes with one hand before he yawns. What is going on? I suddenly become aware of the rest of my body—and the rest of his body—and crane my neck to look down the couch. We’re sharing a blanket. I’m lying on his chest. I shift my leg a little, and my mouth dries up. His leg is between my legs. Or mine is between his? Our legs are tangled. Wait. What is that? Is that his…?
Oh God.
I feel my eyes get wide, and I immediately look down at his chest. I need to get out of here. The sun is up. Other students will be awake soon. If they’re not already. What if someone saw us?
I hear a door open down the hall, and I start to panic.
“We have to go,” I blurt, starting to get up.
“Wait. What?”
“It’s morning. We’re going to get caught.”
“Oh shit,” he hisses.
“Let me up.” I struggle to move, but we’re so intertwined I can’t seem to…
“Hold on a second, Momo. Let me just–”
“What are you two idiots doing?”
We both look over the back of the couch at the same time only to find Bakugou glaring at us and holding a mug of something hot.
“Nothing,” we blurt simultaneously.
“Bullshit,” he growls. “You’re obviously doing something. And whatever it is it’ll get you in huge trouble with Eraserhead.”
“Listen, Bakugou,” Todoroki speaks up, carefully lifting me off of him and rising to his feet. “Nothing is happening. Momo and I were just talking last night. We fell asleep. The end.”
“Oh, so she’s ‘Momo,’ now? And since when do you have to sneak around after curfew to talk to her? Sounds suspicious to me.”
“Just…please don’t tell Mr. Aizawa,” I plead, holding the blanket to my chest as I stand.
“Why shouldn’t I? If you two are stuck in detention, it gives me a better chance at being top of the class.”
“How about this?” Todoroki speaks up again. “You don’t tell him about this, and I won’t tell him why you’re always late to class.”
I watch as Bakugou’s entire body stiffens, and his hand holding the mug begins shaking as the other forms a fist at his side, the faint sound of sizzling coming from both of them.
“How do you know about that?” he rumbles.
“Well, for starters, I’ve got eyes and I’m not an idiot.”
Bakugou’s feet move into a fighting stance, and I feel the air around Shouto begin to cool.
“Mind your own damn business, Icy Hot!”
“I will if you will!”
“Hey guys, what’s going on in here?” Midoriya stumbles down the stairs rubbing sleep out of his eyes, and Bakugou instantly turns on him.
“Shut up, Deku.”
I watch Midoriya blink in confusion before Bakugou storms over toward him. It’s then I feel a hand on my side.
“Go to your room,” Todoroki hisses as he nudges me. “Before anyone else comes down.”
“Oh. Okay.” I turn to go before I stop and turn back. “Wait. What did you mean about why Bakugou is late to class?”
“Oh, you didn’t notice?”
“Notice what?”
“He and Uraraka are always late on the same days.”
“Oh. I guess that didn’t occur to me. Why is that important?”
“Well, it wouldn’t be except…” He glances over at Bakugou again and then back at me. “I was running behind one morning, and I saw them behind the cafeteria. From what I could tell they were just talking. I mean, he was standing really close to her, like her back was against the brick, and he was tilting his head down, but she was smiling and…they weren’t doing anything more.”
“So…what were you going to tell Mr. Aizawa?”
“That he’s late to class because he’s too distracted by Uraraka.”
“He wouldn’t get into any trouble for that really.” I frown.
“Yeah, I know. But can you imagine how upset Bakugou would be if anyone found out he had a crush on a girl?”
“You make a good point.”
“Anyway, you should go.”
“Right.”
I start for the stairs to the girls’ side, pausing at the bottom to look back at him.
“Thank you,” I mouth wordlessly.
He nods once, and I feel my cheeks go pink as I turn around and dash up the stairs. Fortunately, none of the other girls notice anything strange as I make it to my room, and nobody says anything to me during the day. Meanwhile, I can’t stop watching Bakugou and Uraraka, trying to figure out what’s going on there. I mean…what does she see in him?
Todoroki does keep his distance, though. Or rather, he doesn’t approach me or talk to me anymore than usual, but I guess that’s understandable.
But, at least now I have something good to dream about at night.
