thinking about 17776 again (forever) but just thinking about the fact that it's a world without children. it's a little detail that doesn't get as much attention placed on it as other aspects, but humans are literally unable to conceive children anymore. there will never be another lifetime where you get to watch this little creature barely entering sapience grow and discover the world; you will never have to answer a four-year-old's thousand daily questions about why there's night in a bush or where the sun goes at night. you are all adults forever and nothing changes because nothing can. an eternal stagnation

The greatest trick I ever pulled on my sister, in Minecraft.

This was a few years ago. My sister, who is several years younger than me, was playing Minecraft - when she came across a witches hut. She went inside, then thought she saw a witch and got scared. She would have left immediately, but she was called away to do a job, and left the game. I quickly logged on to her account and spawned a whole coven of witches around the hut. When she returned, she - understandably - freaked out, and left quickly, returning to her house. She did some building for a while, then left - and I logged on again. I built a witch hut, and filled it with witches. You may be able to see where this is going.

For several weeks, everywhere she would go - any world, any location - I would fill it with witches. I got quite good at building witch huts! She was completely convinced that the witches were chasing her, and that this was some strange quirk of the game.

After a while of this, I shook things up, by introducing a new element - the Witchhunter. I built a hut, but then, instead of filling it with witches, I lit it on fire, and shot several tridents at it. I even mimicked witch drops, leaving several glass bottles and spiders eyes lying around. I then put a sign outside, saying something to the effect of

"You're welcome. The Witchhunter".

After that, I got really invested, placing hints and clues around, eventually leading her on a quest that took her all over, searching for the Witchhunter. Shockingly, she never found them, eventually finding, instead, a book that purported to contain a ritual to free herself of the curse. (She didn't perform the ritual, due to the fact it involved the death of a chicken. She really likes chickens.)

I did eventually tell her the truth - that I had tricked her - and she was. Displeased.

Hey, what do your tags mean?

I'm setting up a reference/filing system for all the posts on my blog - I'm just sorting through the posts in my queue at the moment - and so I'm tagging them all with a code which represents a category: music, technology, blood, etc. Each of these codes can also be crossed with a different code - for example, if a post contains both music and blood - to narrow it down. Once I'm all finished, I'll post a list of all the codes.

UPDATE: I have (hopefully) finished tagging all of the posts from my first month on tumblr! Now I've only got ~two months to go.

UPDATE²: Going through my more recent archive, and it turns out I apparently used to leave funny tags? For about a month or so. I don't remember any of it.
