Hanatalia Christmas - 2023

In 2021, I did a little Hans and Natalia doodle on Christmas (it's on my @kam00dles side blog), and I felt like doing that again this year.

This pic was inspired by the fact that in Frozen: Past the Present Time (the yet-unwritten second fic of my Frozen: Step into the Dawn trilogy), Hans and Natalia announce their first pregnancy to their family on Christmas. This drawing would not be that exact scene, since that scene happens outside in the cold, but this can be the aftermath later that evening or the next day, when they're discussing it further with the fam.

My adorable commission(s) of Natalia and Hans from @danvama! She did two versions of Hans for me, so I made some slight edits to Natalia in the top image for depictions of two different (yet similar) scenes in my fanfic series, Frozen: Step into the Dawn. The first is from Frozen: Sacrifice and Forgiveness Chapter 9 (link in the source field), and the second will occur in Frozen: Past the Present Time.

Frozen fanfiction, KAM's way (F:PtPT)

"It will be fun, trust me."

Hans squinted skeptically at his friend. "The last time you said that, I ended up with a faceful of applesauce and an earful about being party to your eccentric schemes."

"How was I supposed to know Sitron would hate applesauce?" Leone protested. "Or Kjekk would go crazy from a stray splash? Or–"

Hans covered Leone's mouth. "Precisely why I'm not interested in whatever fantastical plan you've concocted this time."

Leone escaped the makeshift gag. "It doesn't involve applesauce."

Hans arched an unamused brow.

"Or horses."

"Ah, yes, that certainly narrows it down," Hans remarked with a note of snark.

"It eliminates about five percent of the possibilities," mused Leone.

Hans rolled his eyes. "And yet somehow ninety-nine percent end with me on clean-up duty."

"Not this one!" Leone grinned. "All we have to do is find some winter clothes, have Elsa make a giant ice slide with a huge pad of soft snow at the bottom, and voilà, instant fun!"

Hans thinned his lips at the scenario.

"Don't worry, we'll make sure to invite Natalia!" Leone paused. "Although she wouldn't like a tall slide like we would..." He snapped his fingers. "Multiple slides!"

"This idea grows more complex by the second."

"Come on, it's the perfect solution! I'm sure Elsa can make all kinds of slides: a small one, a curvy one, a mountainside one!"

Hans' skepticism was palpable.

"If she makes one steep enough, it will be faster than a galloping Sitron!"

Hans' mouth twitched. "Is that a challenge?"

"If it gets you on board, then yes." Leone grabbed his friend's sleeve. "Now we just need to convince Elsa to do it! That should be easy enough." He started to pull Hans toward the nearest door.

"Wait a minute," Hans commanded, yanking Leone back by the collar to look him dead in the eye.

"You can't talk me out of this!" Leone insisted, shielding himself from the intense stare.

"We need Anna."

Leone stood dumbfounded before lighting up like a chandelier.

"OH! Of course! TO ANNA!"

He dashed off. Hans shook his head with a chuckle and followed.

I decided to change the banner (and icon) for the Frozen: Sacrifice and Forgiveness Tumblr to one of my newer commissions. I added the sequel’s logo (Frozen: Sacrifice and Forgiveness - Past the Present Time) to the new banner, mostly for balance (since I’m nowhere near writing the sequel).
