You exhaled a deep and heavy sigh as you fell back onto the bed, your arms stretched out on either side of you as she stared up at the ceiling. You heard Kallian's soft laughter as he approached, taking a seat at the edge of the bed by your side. You sighed once more, closing her eyes while appreciating the prince's warm company.

"That's the umpteenth time you've sighed in the past hour," Kallian noted, a soft and sympathetic look on his face. He reached out and brushed your cheek with the back of his fingers. "You sound exhausted."

You hummed in acknowledgment. "Mm, I guess...? I really don't know... I just... feel so tired. Like my body and mind just want to sleep."

"Then rest," Kallian suggested, his fingers carefully tucking carding through your hair, the action helping you relax. "It looks like it's something you desperately need."

"Definitely," you breathed out, the fatigue obvious in your voice. You turn your head to nuzzle your cheek against Kallian's lingering hand. "Rest with me," you whisper, almost pleading. "I'll be able to rest better with you by my side."

The prince nods his head and tenderly strokes your cheek once more. "Very well. I suppose I can use some rest myself."

Carrying the Weight of Life:

This song tells an entire story, from the slower sections at the beginning and middle to the fast-paced yet melancholy mood of the rest of the song, to the leitmotifs from past games seamlessly incorporated into the original melody. This song even got the Xenoblade honor of only being used twice in the main game! Both the times it was used were some of the best cutscenes in the entire game.

Gaslight: Tricked an entire species into worshipping a god that wanted to enslave them and turn them into mind reading dragons to wipe out all life in the world Gatekeep: Deliberately supported a cult to increase racial tensions in the species to not only divide them and make them more manipulatable but also the keep their genetics in such a way that they would be turned into the mind reading dragons Girlboss: She is the minister of research. A woman in stem! Plus, if you don't vote for her, you'll pay for your insolence.

Gaslight: When he resurrected his best friends he took away all their memories and gave them new names. He never reveals to them that he was the one who killed everyone on earth in the first place. He really plays up the "benevolent God" act Gatekeep: As a God, everyone is vying for his Favour and he is the one who gets to decide who gets it. He also doesnt share his knowledge of how to become immortal without killing your best friend. Girlboss: Literally made himself God. Never strayed from his ten thousand year old plan of Revenge. Rules an entire solar system and is colonizing more.

Jod is a frequent gaslight and gatekeep, however he falls more under the girlflop the girlboss. All of his plans go wrong but goddamn if he's not trying. Horrible ideas from an even worse person. Whent above gasligting and just straight up wiped his friends memories. Gatekeeping the knowledge of the universe. Had a child he didn't know about for 18 years and only found out cause she showed up dead(she's fine now(mostly)), girlboss move. Had a threesome with two of the gaslit friends, this would be less gross if he wasn't middle-aged. Gatekeeping the planets(I cannot explain this one). Ressurected humanity but also killed a lot of cows(girlboss). Put the soul of the earth in a woman and then put her in prison(but not before killing half of the amigos). Anticaptalist, bisexual, father. He has babygirl energy

Killed entirety of humanity and the whole solar system save a handful of billionaires and their victims, then resurrected the sun and a select handful of humans, wiped their memories, and established a religion in which he is god for over ten thousand years. Also an ex-tumblrina (probably) and goth twitch streamer (definitely).

Killed almost all of humanity, the sun and the solar system and then resurrected some of them deliberately without their memories and didn’t tell them that he killed them in the first place, and also told them that he was god. Renamed his friends after killing and resurrecting them. Set up imbalanced and toxic power dynamics among his inner circle that led to half of them either killing themselves or being killed by the other in each pair in order for half the group to become immortal saints, something he didn’t tell them wasn’t actually necessary to reach that sort of state. Lied to the surviving friends about why the ghosts of the planets in the solar system were hunting them, he told them they were after all of them because of the way they’d become saints which meant they could never go home, but they were actually only ever after him. Also because of this lie he was able to manipulate them into fighting the ghosts and dying in the process, saying that they would kill him which would destroy the sun, when actually they couldn’t kill him and also the ghosts were after just him so everybody would be fine if they just stopped hanging out with him (this is true in a LOT of senses actually). When he decided to get new immortal saints he specifically asked for the heirs of the houses, who were mostly younger in the 16-22 range and therefore easy to manipulate especially after killing their best friend (again, he knows that isn’t necessary and is asking it of a group of teens/young adults). When one of the people who was successful appears to have done it wrong, he pretends to be a mentor or father figure to her face (knowing that that is something extremely important to her) while having one of his surviving original friends try to kill her without her knowing he was behind that. On the girlboss front, I think he kinda thinks he’s a girlboss more than he actually is one, but he’s so good at the gaslight bit he’ll have you believing that too.

SUMMARY: Kallian admires your expression before sharing a kiss with you.

"You're staring quite intensely, you know." Kallian's gentle voice breaks you out of your thoughts. He turns his head to look at you, a soft smile on his face.

"I wasn't staring," you retort. "I was admiring the view."

Your attempt at hiding your embarrassment at having been caught makes Kallian laugh, the warm sound making your heart skip a beat. He subtly tilts his head to the side, his smile not once leaving his features. "I brought you up here as it's one of the only places where you can see all of Alcamoth in its splendor. I thought you would like the view, but instead, you choose to stare at my face."

Your cheeks glow with a pinkish hue, and you puff your cheeks into a small pout. It isn't obvious, but you can still tell that he's teasing you. "I can't help it since you have such a pretty face..."

Kallian chuckles. "If we're talking about pretty faces, I personally find yours to be quite charming."

You furrow your brows, but your eyes are unable to hide your bashful joy from his compliment. "You're teasing me," you accuse.

"I'm not," he responds, but the playful and light lilt of his voice says otherwise. Kallian turns fully to face you now, and he slowly approaches you, lessening the distance between the two of you. He cradles your cheek with one hand, his touch gentle and comforting. The two of you lock eyes, and Kallian can't help but let out another small laugh. "That expression of yours never fails to fill my heart with joy," he comments.

"What expression?"

"Like you're happy but don't want to make it obvious, so you try to look angry instead," Kallian clarifies. "It's a rather cute expression, and it makes me want to tease you."

"You're horrible," you note, but of course, you both know that you don't mean it.

Kallian laughs once more. He finds himself smiling and laughing more around you. It feels refreshing. He traces the curve of your jaw with his fingertips before cupping your chin. He carefully tilts your head back, prompting your breath to hitch for a moment at the deep look in Kallian's eyes. He leans down, slow and purposeful, and you understand his intention.

You close your eyes and lean forward, meeting his lips halfway. Kallian's lips are soft, warm, and gentle. The way he kisses you, so full of love, makes you melt against him. Kallian pulls away with a quiet sigh of bliss, and he takes a moment to stare at your face. He enjoys your embarrassed face quite a bit, but this one... with your eyes so radiant that they emphasize the glow of your cheeks and small, bashful smile... He can't help but find it incredibly endearing as well.

I don't normally do this, but here are the few things I hope to see during tomorrow's Nintendo Direct:

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom This is all but guaranteed with the game only being three months away and still only a few details are known. I expect the Direct to open with this and get it out of the way before moving on to new announcements. They'll probably also announce a DLC expansion pass (which I would day-one, BTW).

Wave 3 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass This was originally scheduled for the spring, but I think there's a chance it could be shadow dropped after the Direct.

Baten Kaitos remaster This is a long-shot rumor, but I hope it's true. Baten Kaitos is a game I regret passing on back in the day.

F-Zero news Another rumor. If true, it's hopefully a new game, but a remaster of a previous game (X, GX, or even AX) would be fine, too. Maybe even a spin-off title would be cool. One thing I hope it is not is DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

That's pretty much all I can think of at the moment, but there isn't long to wait anyway!
