A knock on her window startled her from her sleep. She lay still in her bed, her thought process being if she doesn’t answer, they’ll go away. She couldn’t think of anyone who would be knocking on her window at three in the morning. It certainly wasn’t the Curtis boys, Steve would probably be in some car race, and Dally was in the slammer. Unless…

She shot up from her bed, running to her window. Sure enough, Dallas Winston stood outside her bedroom window in all his glory, bruises only just fading from his beautiful face, a cigarette dangling from his lips. “Open the window,” his voice was muffled from the glass dividing them. She hurried to open her window, stepping back as he climbed into her room.

Hers and Dally’s relationship was complicated. They were together, but, he liked to act like a tough guy around everyone else, a fact which bothered her to no end. It’s no secret she loved him, she just wanted to know the feelings were reciprocated in public. They argued endlessly over this, his gaslighting only angering her more and more, leading her to break up with him. It hadn’t even been a day when Darry Curtis called her up, letting her know he had been arrested for shoplifting. Again.

And now, here he was. Sitting on her bed and smoking a cigarette.

She broke the silence, “what are you doing here, Dal?” She watched as he took a big puff of his cigarette, his eyes fixed on his boots resting on the bed.

“I had to see you,” he said after a minute. His voice was quiet; he was never one to be vulnerable or talk about his feelings. The way he saw it, he didn’t show his affection for anyone, he couldn’t get hurt. Frankly, she was shocked to see him look so vulnerable and utterly defeated.

“We’re not together anymore. You can’t just come running whenever you’re fresh out the slammer,” her voice was small as she shook her head at him. She was hurting all over again.

“I know, just hear me out, will ya?” His eyes met hers, the sassy tone coming back to his voice for only a moment. “I know I haven’t done treated you right. I’ve been a shitty guy to you, and I regret it. I’m not good with this kinda thing, man, I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know how to express what I feel for you or what you mean to me, ya know?” He stopped to take another drag of his cigarette. “And, I was sitting in that damn cell and I finally realized, I don’t wanna lose you. Damn, I love ya. I don’t know how to be without you, it’s- it’s like I can’t breathe, ya know? I am trynna be better for you, I swear. And if you let me, I’ll keep trying. ‘Cause you mean everything to me. I’m just scared of gettin’ hurt.”

Again, she was extremely shocked. He had never once told her he loved her, let alone that he couldn’t breathe without her. Either way, she knew in her heart, that Dallas Winston was the love of her life.

Without saying another word, she walked over to him and engulfed him in a hug. They held each other tight, reveling in each other’s presence.

Pulling back, she said, “I forgive you, but you have to drop the hard ass act. I want you to actually acknowledge that I’m your girlfriend in public. And not just in a possessive way,” her lips were pulling into a smile.

“Ya got it, doll,” he gave her a rare grin of his own. He pulled her back in, inhaling her scent and committing it to memory. “You better not tell anybody about this, ya hear me?” Her laughter could be heard from miles away.

It depends on the situation, if he's around the gang or Shepard's gang then you aren't going to get any affection. But, if you're alone or if someone is trying to flirt with you then he's extremely affectionate.

B = Beauty (do what they admire their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?)

Besides your looks, I feel like Dally would admire your fiery personality or passion for something/someone you really care about.

C = Cuddling (how do they like to cuddle?)

You're most likely the one to initiate it so you always end up in the same position. Your arms are wrapped around him and your head is in the crook of his neck.

D = Dates (what does their ideal date with you look like?)

You're either at Bucks, just taking a drive, or are at the Drive-in. Your dates are simple, there is nothing too fancy about them.

E = Emotions (how do they express emotions around you?)

You're usually the one to get him to express his emotions whether it be from an intense interrogation from you or you get into a fight about it.

F = Fight ( Would it be easy to forgive their s/o?)

I feel like Dallas is extremely stubborn so he wouldn't forgive or apologize to you right off the bat. (Mostly because he thinks he's in the right 99% of the time.)

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

It took a little bit for him to be less abrasive around you. But when he finally lets go of his past experiences with Slyvia he can be surprisingly soft.

H = Holding Hands (when/how do they like to hold hands?)

He doesn't hold hands with you often, only really ever doing it when he's jealous.

I = Injury (how would they act if you got hurt?)

He would be livid if you got hurt and if he finds the person who hurt you well... let's just say you might have to bail him out of jail.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Dallas gets really jealous and when he does get jealous he'll approach you, wrap his arms around your waist and just glare at whoever is trying to get with you. If that said person doesn't get the hint Dallas would pretty much just drag you away from them at that point.

K = Kisses (how do they like to kiss you?)

Kisses with Dallas are usually a bit... messy.

L = Love (how do they show you they love you?)

I feel like he would rarely say I love you so he'd either give you his Christopher. He'd show his love through actions rather than words.

M = Memory (favorite memory together?)

The day you agreed to go out with him. It would be a day/night he would never forget.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Let's be real here. it would either be at Bucks or your place. He may or may not always be sober either...

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

He would definitely wait a while before he opened up to you about his past and he wouldn't just blurt everything out at once.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He surprisingly has pretty go patience with you, but if someone else is messing or trying to do something with you that's when he goes off.

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?)

As long as he's with you he's not too picky about what the two of you do. But he has to admit when you get really into explaining something that you like. He loves to just watch the passion and joy on your face as you ramble on about whatever it is you're talking about.

R = Romance (How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?)

Dallas Winston is the exact opposite of Cliché and I feel like he isn't the most romantic person out there.

S = Security (How protective are they?)

Extremely protective... again someone messes with you Dallas is ending up in cuffs.

T = Time (how long did it take you to get together?)

A while, even if you guys were friends for a while it would take a lot for Dallas to get into another relationship after Sylvia.

U = Upset (how do they act when you’re upset?)

He's unsure of what to do to calm you down. Usually, he'll just let you rant or cry it out.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He takes some pride in his looks but he's not overly concerned about them.

Dallas x Cherry Headcanons

I’d like to believe that Cherry and Dally would be such a cute “Good Girl with the Bad Boy” couple.

But realistically, especially when considering Dal’s true character, their relationship would most definitely be t o x i c

They would be THAT couple that’s always breaking up and getting back together.

Longest break up they had lasted two weeks, they’re both hella petty so those two weeks were all because they were waiting on each other to see who would reach out first.

Constant bickering and arguments.

Usually over the most minuscule things.

You think Dal is mature enough to not start a fight over who drank the rest of the milk in his apartment???

Dal is extremely stubborn, so as you can assume he will never admit to being wrong and he rarely apologizes for anything.

They both have issues with jealousy.

Dallas is very protective when it comes to the people in his life, as well as territorial.

What belongs to him is his, anyone or anything that tries to meddle with whats his and he’ll go ballistic.

A lot of fights have occurred due to him seeing another guy try to approach her and flirt.

Def is that douchebag boyfriend that tries to tell her what she can and can’t wear.

“Change out of that right now.”

But Dal ain’t no saint though lemme tell you bbg.

A lot of their arguments stem up from Cherry seeing him with other girls.

Cherry isn’t blind, she knows that Dallas Winston isn’t the type of man that’s going to remain faithful and settle down with anyone.

Knowing that, the thought of him getting bored of her and leaving is one of her biggest fears.

Still doesn’t stop her from staying with that stupid, handsome, bastard.

One time when Dal got locked up, Cherry wanted to visit him. Begged her parents to let her borrow the car to go see him, they refused and instead she was given a lecture about how she shouldn’t be wasting her time with that “criminal.”

Pleaded with her friends who had cars to give her a ride, said they wouldn’t be caught dead outside of the police station with her.

Ended up walking with Ponyboy to go see him.

Speaking of good ol' pone bone, he was extremely butthurt when he found out they were dating.

Legit avoided Dallas for like a week after he found out.

Anywaysssss enough with all the angsty stuff lemme talk about some of the cute stuff.

On some occasions where Dal really f*cks up and doesn’t know how to fix it, he will go out and get her small gifts.

Such as candy, jewelry, food, etc.

Sometimes he will even send Marcia with some money to a boutique to get her a new article of clothing.

Because let’s be honest here, Dally would never step foot inside of a boutique lol.

If that doesn’t work then he always pulls her up into a huge hug when he see’s her, lifting her up off the ground and squeezes her tightly. She can’t ever resist the urge to giggle when he starts kissing her all over her face.

“You still mad at me, brat?”

“I’m always gonna be mad at you, Winston.”

He let her braid his hair once... never again will that happen.

“Wow, Dal! You sure do look pretty.”

“Shut up.”

“I think I’m gonna start callin’ ya ‘doll’ instead of ‘babe’.”

“Don’t even push it, kid.”

Dal sneaks through her bedroom window unannounced practically whenever he feels like it.

Even if she’s not home, you know this man got the balls to just sit and wait. Get a nice nap in on her bed.

“What the hell are you doing here!? you got any idea how much trouble I’ll be in if my parents catch you in here!?”

Well she went to watch Dally get one, then he convinced her to get one too.

Let’s just say Cherry has a tiny tattoo of a butterfly on her ankle that no one other than Dallas knows of.

He ended up getting a tattoo for Johnny on his forearm.

“Am I the tenth girl that has received the honor of wearin’ this?”

“The second. I’m hopin’ I can trust you with it more than I did the last girl.”

Cherry confessed that she loved him one night when she was drunk.

She threw up on his floor right afterwards.

She woke up the next morning laying in bed with him, hungover and totally confused.

She can’t even remember the events of that night, Dally claimed that he didn’t either.

He remembered though.

And he was relieved that she didn’t remember the part where he said I love you too.

The Sixth and Final Straw

Dallas x Sylvia Imagine

WARNING(S): Swearing, brief mentions of violence and s*xual content.

Sylvia stood outside the police station with her arms crossed, her lips pulled into a tight frown as she waited for her boyfriend to be released. Dallas Winston getting sent to the cooler wasn’t out of the ordinary, but it still didn't stop her from getting worked up every time. Sylvia had been counting, this was the sixth time he had been sent away while they were together.

She spent most nights up, crying her eyes out and screaming into her pillow. Always worrying if he was safe and not stabbed in a cell. Everyone constantly asking her ‘How’s Dally? How much time he get? What'd he do this time?’ While all the other girls with boyfriends were out having fun, Sylvia was always waiting for him to get out of jail or any other trouble he was in. Tonight was the last time, the final straw.

She was done.

Dallas came sauntering out of the front doors, a cop escorted him down the steps to the sidewalk where Sylvia stood. He sent her that signature devious smirk, but this time he was impressing nobody.

“Y'all have a good night.” The cop grumbled before making his way back into the station.

The pair stared each other down, not a word was spoken until the doors slammed closed indicating the pig was gone.

Dally sighed deeply, “What’s with the face?”

She stayed silent, jaw clenching as she did everything in her will power not to slap him right across the face.

“Oh gee, what did I do now?” He rolled his eyes, “Got any cancer sticks?”

“No.” She spat, “I don’t have any.”

Dal’s thick eyebrows pulled together as he looked down at her. He was annoyed, five months without seeing or even talking to his girl yet somehow she found a reason to be mad at him.

“What’s the matter, doll? You not happy to see me or sum?” He asked.

“Don’t you 'doll’ me, Dallas.”

He raised an eyebrow at her and chuckled dryly, that only fueled her anger. He found the situation humorous. How was it funny? She didn’t have a clue. But she did know he was one cocky son of a b*tch, and nothing with Dallas was ever easy.

“Syl, I really am not in the mood to fight with you right now. Especially when I just got out of jail five seconds ago.” He said with a bored tone.

“Do you know what time it is?”

“Wha–”

“I said do you know what time it is?” She cut him off.

“No, Sylvia. What time is it?” Dallas’ voice became hard, his patience was running very thin.

“It is four in the mornin’. Four o’ clock in the mornin’, and what am I doin’ up this f*ckin’ early? Hm?”

He didn’t respond, instead he began to slowly walk down the sidewalk and away from the station. He knew a fight was coming and there was no avoiding it, and for the first time ever he didn’t want to get in trouble… again.

“Don’t you dare walk away from me, hood.” She growled.

Sylvia quickly walked over and stopped in front of his path, there was no way he was escaping what was coming.

“Hood?” Dallas snickered, “That’s cute.”

“It is four in the mornin’.” She repeated. “I got up and walked over to the police station, by myself may I add, for the sixth time since I’ve been with you.”

Dallas shrugged, “So?”

“So?” She breathed out. “T-That’s normal? You think that’s fine? To go in and out of jail constantly while your girlfriend is worried sick about you?”

“Don’t start with me.”

He went to walk around her, but she slammed her hands on his chest and pushed him back.

Dallas shot her a deadly look, “I ain’t your punchin’ bag, kid.”

“Do you even care? Be honest with me Winston is there any tiny part of you that cares the slightest bit about me, and how I feel whenever you’re gone?”

Sylvia mentally cursed at herself as she heard her voice break. She didn’t plan for it to go this way, her breaking down in front of him. This time she wanted it to be different, she wanted to be strong.

“How you feel?�� He scoffed. “From what I hear you’ve been havin’ a blast while I’m gone.”

“You can’t be serious right no–”

“You got some serious balls coming at me, making me feel like I did something wrong when you’re the one thats been f*ckin’ another guy while I’ve been away.”

She was completely and utterly gobsmacked, how in the world did he find out about that? She watched him with tearful eyes as he bent down so his face was level with hers.

“You should’ve know better… I got eyes and ears all over this town. Did you really think that wasn’t gonna get back to me?”

Dallas didn’t get answer, only a choked sob. She hastily wiped away the tears that were cascading down her cheeks, smearing her make-up in the process.

“Syl, I may not be the best boyfriend in the world…” He leaned in closer and brought his voice to a whisper, “But I never cheated on you.”

He straightened himself up and took a few steps back.

“Yeah, I’m a horrible f*ckin’ human being.” He admitted. “But guess what, baby? You’re just as sh*tty a person as me.”

With that he turned around and walked away, shoving his fists in his jacket pockets. He tried his very best to not belt out any obscenities towards the girl he once thought he knew. Sure, they fought like cats and dogs, but that never changed the fact that he was always loyal to her. He had actually trusted her, and that was one of the biggest mistakes he had ever made.

“I was done waitin’ for you!”

He halted in his tracks as her strangled voice cried out into the atmosphere.

“Dallas I love you, god damnit! But you’ll never love me!”

He shook his head, closing his eyes tightly trying to shut her out as he tried to leave again.

“You kept leavin’! You were always gone and it hurt me so ba–”

“So that means you had to go and f*ck Tim Shepard!?” Dallas roared.

The greaser girl visibly flinched as he whirled around to face her once more, pure disgust was evident in his features. She trembled while wrapping her arms around herself in a lame attempt to pull herself together.

“Dal… I am so sor–”

“F*ck your sorry!”

He stormed right back over to her, she whimpered and turned her head away to avoid his hateful gaze.

“How would you feel if I went and f*cked Angela, huh!? If I went and banged one of your friends how would that make you feel?” He seethed.

“You weren’t there…” She said quietly. “I couldn’t just sit around and wait for you to grow up.”

She reached behind her neck and unclasped Dally’s Christopher that he had given her when they first got together.
