Toyota APM 2020/2023. Some of the Accessible People Movers that were originally designed for the (delayed) 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games have been repurposed and transformed into cat buses for the Expo Aichi Memorial Park in the Japanese city of Nagakute. The cat buses have been designed to resemble the cat character from the 1988 Studio Ghibli animated film My Neighbour Tortoro. The APM is fully electric with a range of 100km and a top speed of 20km/h (12 mph). There were around 200 APMs made for the Olympics, it’s unclear how many have been turned into cats

Ghibli Park Opens Theme Park Entrance Early for Free to All

  Construction on Studio Ghibli's Aichi-based theme park continues ahead of its November 1 opening but ahead of schedule, the 19th Century inspired "Elevator Tower" entrance to Ghibli Park was completed and opened to the public free of charge. Ghibli showcased the building in a series of tweets explaining that the 19th Century aesthetic was the influence on how Laputa: Castle in the Sky looked.

    The building is open now to those who visit the Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park in Aichi prefecture for free, while the rest of Ghibli Park is set to open on November 1 with the Ghibli's Grand Warehouse area, the Hill of Youth, and the Dondoko Forest. The second stage of the park's opening, which includes the Valley of the Witches and Mononoke Village, isn't yet dated.

Studio Ghibli Releases 1st Official Ghibli Park Visual Ahead of November 1 Opening

  Ahead of the opening of Ghibli Park, the official theme park of beloved anime studio Studio Ghibli, on November 1 in Aichi prefecture, the teaser website opened today, giving everyone a taste of what's to come when the park opens as well as the first teaser visual (above) of the park's Ghibli's Grand Warehouse area, which will feature decor inspired by Howl's Moving Castle and houses "all of the studio's secrets."

  Alongside the Ghibli's Grand Warehouse area, Ghibli also outlined the two other areas which will open with the park on November 1: the Hill of Youth, which will recreate the World Emporium, the antique shop from Whisper of the Heart, and the Dondoko Forest from My Neighbor Totoro which will be behind the recreation of Satsuki and Mei's House.

        The two other confirmed areas, Valley of the Witches and Mononoke Village, still don't have a confirmed opening day as of yet, but both had their concept images shown off on the website.
