I'm obcessed with the idea of Hugo Strange, Jonathan Crane, Jeremiah Arkham and Harley Quinn all working in Arkham together at the same time in some point. Of Jonathan and Jermiah having graduated together. Of Strange later joining them and being older enough that they respected his views a lot. Of Harley being Jonathan favorite student. Of a photography of the four of them as a newspapper calls them the Four Horseman of Arkham without knowing that at most five years from now all of them will have done indescribable crimes.

Okay, you knew someone was going to ask this, just how does 'Kenpachi' get used by the Arrancar? Do they turn it into a verb?

After Aizen's defeat, diplomatic relations open between Las Noches and Soul Society. There's even a peace treaty and an experimantal program to pair Arrancar and Shinigami into more efficient hollow-hunting teams. An incredible feat that almost nobody thought they'd see within their lifetimes.

It's not without hiccups. The arrancar all speak Spanish, but any hollow gillian-class and above has access to the Translation Matrix, so the two parties are largely mutually intelligible. But the matrix isn't perfect, and it does lead to some confusion when a word doesn't translate because there isn't an equivalent, or worse, translates something that should be left untranslated.

Someone eventually explains that, no, it wasn't just a bizarre coincidence that every captain of the 11th is named "Kenpachi"-

Chad, unhelpfully: the last six mayors of my hometown have all been named "Jose"

-thank you. But "Kenpachi" is a title like "Duke" or "Father" for priests, and the Kenpachis commit to the bit by giving up their name and using the title instead.

"Got it." Say the arrancar, who absolutely do not got it, because they think it's weird that the title doesn't get gendered- they have duchesses and mothers superior, after all?

Later, it comes out that Unohana was the First Kenpachi, and there is some diplomatic muttering in the halls of Las Noches. Unohana is a very scary woman who they take great care to address as diplomatically as possible. Surely then, they should be calling her Dr. Captain-Kenpachi to give her proper credit (Dr. goes first because it's her Most Impressive Achievement) ...But that will create more than a little confusion with the current Captain-Kenpachi (they saw "Captain-General" and bracketed Zaraki's name incorrectly).

Then the news that the Captains-Kenpachi are married, and someone leaps to the beautifully Incorrect conclusion that because it's a name as well as a title, and the married couple share it, that it is a inheritable family title like Duke!

This is obviously how it works- Renji has complained extensively about how his boss inherited the title of Captain from his grandfather - and the new titles are updated as such:
