Network Update 8/10/17
Doug Clay Elected General Superintendent
Douglas E. Clay is the new general superintendent-elect of the U.S. Assemblies of God, elected Wednesday afternoon subsequent to George O. Wood, who has held the post for 10 years, withdrawing his name from contention.
Information
Greetings from Superintendent Terry Bailey:
Today is my mom’s third anniversary in heaven. If my mom were still alive, she would would be 87 years old today. Mom was godly, stable, and took care of others. She was one of the most godly women I have ever known. She was the stabilizer in our home when I was growing up. As a nurse and person, she was a caregiver who took care of many. I miss her and still grieve her home going. Grief is real.
I have grieved the loss of my mother to Alzheimer's, the loss of both my father and father-in-law to automobile accidents, and the loss of Susan's mother to a massive stroke. I have grieved the loss of friends and parishioners who left this earth suddenly and unexpectedly, without the chance to say a last goodbye. Susan lost her little brother, who was run over by a drunk driver while he was riding his bicycle. Susan and I have also experienced the pain of loss as a result of miscarriage twice, in between the births of Michael and Rachel. Losses are never easy.
However, despite all these various losses, nothing is quite like the grief of a parent losing their child. Nothing can prepare you for the agony you experience when you lose that loved one you brought into the world. Susan's mother never fully recovered from Joseph's untimely death. Parents are supposed to die first. It seems unfair but sometimes life is simply not fair.
About a year ago, Susan and I walked into a home where a son had been found dead by his mother the previous day. The young man was only 28 years old. Those parents were totally heart-broken and our hearts broke with theirs. It was tough and words were not adequate. You cannot explain why. We all cried and prayed together. We were their former pastor but I was so proud of the magnificent way in which their current pastor, Chris Moore, ministered grace and comfort to this devastated family at that time.
Through it all, you learn to trust God through every circumstance of life, no matter what happens. Keep pressing forward and looking upward!
Love and appreciate you much!
Terry G. Bailey
CPCD Exponential Transformation Offering
Tennessee Ministry Network Ministers,
As you know, on Sunday, September 17th, we are asking every church to receive a special offering for Church Planting and Church Development. We, as a Network, are moving forward to plant over 100 churches in the next 10 years and see 300 healthy churches across the state of Tennessee. A goal like this one is going to take a collaborative effort with every minister, church, and section in our great Network. As I look at the dozens of counties and the 71 cities, in Tennessee, that do not have an Assemblies of God, Pentecostal witness, my heart is stirred to plant churches that will be a lighthouse in the midst of darkness. On September 17th, your church will have the opportunity to partner with us in this endeavor. By giving in our Exponential Transformation Offering, you will be "Giving to a Future That Has Not Been Written."  Your church does not want to miss out on this opportunity to give to future church plants! Thank you in advance for giving!
God Bless, Bruce Headley Tennessee Ministry Network Church Multiplication Director
A Vision for 10,000 New Congregations
Church Multiplication Network Senior Director Chris J. Railey announced an audacious goal for the U.S. Fellowship to launch 10,000 new congregations in the next decade, at a CMN luncheon Tuesday afternoon in Anaheim, California.
While the vision may seem outlandish, Railey noted a bold strategy is required to meet the diverse need for instituting churches in rural, suburban, and urban settings.

Top 10 Stunning Romantic Islands
 1. BORA-BORA IN FRENCH POLYNESIA
Some scenes could be tempting in the crystal clear water to watch with your loved ones a water bungalow with private pool for a night under the stars. Readers of T + L agreed to give the Four Seasons Bora Bora (and two luxury resorts Bora Bora) high marks in the survey. The postcard views worthy of Mount Otemanu welcome visitors from all angles, and during the Dome can not lift the foot, travelers can instead place the Mount Pahia or Mount Ohue Tour. After a day of lagoons, snorkeling or strolling through one of the most famous beaches on the island to explore winners can be found in the sun "Motu Piti A'au" called, which translates as "island of two hearts" in Tahitian.  2. MALDIVES
With about 26 atolls and islands 1,200 couples to choose from which is the Maldives have become a popular destination moon surprise. The archipelago could be known by the theater, but there are other ways for visitors to admire the aquatic life. Situated in the middle of coral reefs 20 feet below the surface and accessible only by boat complex "Underwater Park" Per Aquum Niyama Subsix does can be tested in the eye with marine life. If things go well, couples can exchange votes in the middle of the Indian Ocean, courtesy of the four seasons in the glass-bottomed Maldives of the Landaa Giraavaru Wedding Hall. 3. SANTORINI IN GREECE
It has been scientifically proven that Santorini is heaven on earth, has the most beautiful sunset, and won the first place in the best overview of the world for 16 years and counting. For breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea, make a reservation at the Katikies Hotel, praised for its intimate restaurant and towed the device between Oia. Wine lovers, take note: some argue that this came to the Greek island, is the best in the country, thanks to its pleasant climate and mineral content volcanic soil. Visit little-known winery Gavalas in the charming village of Megalochori, where visitors can enter the grapes during the harvest season. 4.MOOREA IN FRENCH POLYNESIA
Regardless of Moorea - with its green volcanic peaks, blue lakes and white sand surfaces - Inspired Bali Hai James Michener in Tales of the South Pacific, the two are drawn to the island's mystical splendor in French Polynesia. Jump on an ATV or Jeep to the top of the Magic or Lookout Mountain's Belvedere, both of which may just be the perfect proposed locations. Travelers to stay on the active thrive to tie their boots and available to the network of difficult but beautiful set trails. More important? The island has the shape of a heart. 5.BORACAY IN THE PHILIPPINES
Size does not matter: The small, four square miles of retirement in the Philippines knows how to work, what you have. Extensive nightlife, with parts of October spilling on the beaches and in the morning, sets the tone. Travelers come here to loosen up. Famous white beach of Boracay is the reception of the Beach Bums with what some say is soft sand in the world, while Bulabog beach is a mecca for surfers and windsurfers. Readers love Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa, where couples in Treehouse Villa hide hiding pass two levels on the hillside. Hang in the hot tub on the balcony on the second floor and proceed to your honey at sunset (personal butler election drink, of course, provided). 6. KAUAI IN HAWAII
To get to this emerald Hawaiian utopia, visitors are greeted with cinematic interest: 60 films are more Kauai as the backdrop. The first island in the Pacific formed to be exploring pain. Rated by T + L readers like No. 1 Island in Africa and the Middle East and praised for its pure beauty, it's no wonder celebrities (including the love of the honeymoon - couple Kate Middleton and Prince William) Flock to this celestial archipelago. After all, the island of Praslin - one of the 116 in the Seychelles - was thought to be the Garden of Eden. Try not to blush, but the island's indigenous coconuts, dubbed "love nuts", are often consumed as aphrodisiacs. Come for the beaches, but for the views of the bathtub. 8. MAUI IN HAWAII
Perhaps the most popular of the Hawaiian Islands, this favorite T + L reader offers a variety of stylish resorts and opportunities for adventure and relaxation. Honokohau Falls - The largest waterfall on the island can be seen only by helicopter, so book a tour during your stay at Mount Kapalua Bay and change your fear of rights heights to claim entitlements. Start a digital detox (probably has no cell service) and embark on the trip of a lifetime to Hana Maui. Fresh and impressive pineapple along the route waterfalls will make everything better.  9.CAPRI IN ITALY

The couples can be individually housed, the lagoon with access to the beach of Nusa Dua, overlooking the St. Regis Bali, the world's highest rank the best hotel villas. My Best Travel Experiences of 2016
2016 has been my biggest travel year to date and now I’m ready to retire. Ok, just kidding. But, seriously, I put in some serious miles this year and had some incredible & breathtaking adventures along the way!
Here’s a breakdown of my 2016 travels:
0Countries Traveled
0Flights Boarded
0Miles Flown
Countries Traveled: Brazil, the Bahamas, Indonesia, Austria, England, South Africa, Mexico, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, China, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Belize, Japan, Iceland, Colombia, Ecuador, French Polynesia
I can’t believe that I can now say I’ve traveled 54 countries since starting this blog just 4 years ago — which is incredible to think about!
Here are the highlights from my 2016 travels!
Brazil
I took my mom on her first ever international trip last year for Christmas aboard a cruise where we sailed from Puerto Rico to Rio! We explored the Brazilian cities of Fortaleza, Salvado De Bahia, Recife, Olinda and Buzios, and rang in the New Year in Rio!
It was one of the most luxurious travel experiences I’ve been on– and my first cruise!

The Bahamas
I got to travel to The Bahamas for the first this year! I spent some time exploring the islands of Bimini and and later fulfilled a childhood dream of staying at the famous Atlantis Resort.
The Bahamas are a haven for beachgoers, fishermen, and water sports enthusiasts, and only a short flight from Miami!

Miami
How it took me 28 years to visit Miami is beyond explanation. And, just my luck, a massive cold front hit when I visited. So, aside from sporadic windows of sunshine, I mostly spent my time exploring Miami by bike and cozied up at my hotel.
However, I will admit the Edition Hotel takes the cake for coolest setup with a full club, bowling alley and ice skating rink in their basement!

Bali
I returned to Bali for the first time in 5 years — it’s always held a special place in my heart, so I was excited to return. I then returned TWO MORE TIMES later in the year! Yes. Three trips to Bali this year.
You could say that I’m mildly obsessed
On my first trip this year, I went to Bali to participate in a 10-day coding course from the Institute of Code. Taught poolside in a villa, I can say it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for my blog and my business.
I returned to Bali later in the summer to hide away for a week between trips in Asia and then I returned again later in the year to spend a few days relaxing before setting off to explore more of Indonesia.
As I’ve said, time and time again, Bali is a heaven on earth! It is one of the best (and cheapest) places to unwind, relax and focus on wellness.

California Coast Road Trip
With a goal to explore more of my home state this year, I thought, “What better way to do so than by road trip?!” The iconic Pacific Coast Highway continues along most of the California coast up to Oregon and Washington.
The drive up California can be enjoyed at any pace — whether it’s over the course of a day or a couple weeks!
From San Diego to San Francisco, we had so much fun going up the coast and stopping in Santa Barbara, Big Sur and Monterey! We also celebrated “The Blonde Abroad” blog’s 4th birthday at the famous Madonna Inn!

The Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico has always been one of my favorite getaways for relaxation and beaches. So, I returned this year to spend more time in Playa Del Carmen.
Its world-class diving and beautiful beaches have made it one of Mexico’s hot spots for people from around the globe.
I did my Advanced PADI Scuba certification while I was there, and also took the ferry over to Isla Holbox to relax for a few days (check out my daily vlogs here!). It was absolutely amazing, and somewhere you NEED to visit!

Sri Lanka
Wonder why they call Sri Lanka “The Pearl of the Indian Ocean?” Well, I found out. Going into my first trip to the island destination, I didn’t know what to expect. But, I was blown away!
There’s definitely no shortage of natural beauty between the tropical, green mountains, overgrown forests, sparkling coastlines and lush rivers.
I also attended the TBCAsia Conference while there and The Blonde Abroad was awarded Travel Blog of the Year, which was such a huge honor!

China
This was my second trip to China and I was lucky enough to visit the Qinghai region of China, which is highly regulated and not very accessible to Westerners.
It was an amazing cultural experience and I learned so much more about local culture, cuisine and customs than I ever expected.
This region is China’s most sparcely populated province – with 1 yak to each person – and is known for its strong Tibetan and Mongol culture.

This was actually my second trip to Dubai. I visited back in 2012 on my first trip to the Middle East in my early blogging days.
From a traditional Turkish hammam experience, to hanging out with camels in the desert, to climbing to the top of the Burj Khalifa (1,820 feet high!), I quickly remembered that there’s no shortage of adventure and new experiences to be had in Dubai.

I say this every year, but my third Burn was even better than the last. I’m so grateful for the incredible moments I get to share with old friends and new every year. The magic of the Playa is in the wonder of the often uncomfortable and utterly unbelievable.
Which is why I can’t wait to attend AfrikaBurn this year in South Africa!

Iceland
My first trip to Iceland was back in 2014, so I had been daydreaming of a return trip for the last two years! I was able to spend a few days in Reykjavik as well as do an epic camper van road trip around the iconic Ring Road.
We spent 10 days exploring the rugged and stunning landscapes, dipping in geothermal lagoons, chasing waterfalls, trying new kinds of foods and drinks (like fermented shark!) and, I have to say, it was one of my favorite trips of the year!

NYC
Immediately following Iceland, I headed to New York City where I was asked to speak at the PhotoPlus Expo with Fujifilm! It was such an honor, and a great event to both attend and speak at.

Colombia
Before flying to The Galápagos, I spent a couple days exploring Bogotá, Colombia for the first time. The city is known for “not-so-great” weather, but we got lucky with a couple of sunny days perfect for exploring!
I’ll have a guide to Bogotá in 48 hours up soon, but some of the highlights were staying at Click Clack hotel, taking in the view from the top of Monserrate, walking around La Candelaria and having a night out at the famous Andrés Carne de Res restaurant!

The Galápagos
After spending a few days in Bogotá, Colombia, we flew over to San Cristóbal Island in The Galápagos to board the luxurious M/V Origin vessel for an eight day cruise through the islands!
I was especially excited for the diving and learned there are amazing dive locations off of San Cristóbal, namely Kicker Rock, famous for spotting Galápagos and hammerhead sharks. I’m still organizing all of my photos so stay tuned for many more blog posts on the trip!

French Polynesia
My most recent (and last) trip of the year took me to the islands of French Polynesia! We spent a few days exploring each of the islands: Taha’a, Rangiroa, and Tahiti.
Taha’a is known for spectacular vanilla, while Rangiroa has the most diverse marine life and is known around the world for its diving and snorkeling sites. I also discovered the untouched side of Tahiti where you can explore lava tubes and trek to waterfalls.
Stay tuned for blog posts!
Las Vegas
I couldn’t think of a better way to end the year than in Las Vegas with my best girlfriends! The ultimate party city, a helicopter rode over the Grand Canyon, and dancing until the sun came up made for an amazing way to end the year!
