current mood: watching a video about genetics in Elder Scrolls
#the elder scrolls#elderscrolls#tes#elder scrolls#I love genetic science and The Elder Scrolls so this is mixing two things I am very normal about#fucking love speculative biology so much#my personal Headcanon when it comes to Elder Scrolls Genetics is that it's a lot like IRL genetics but sometimes the gods meddle#like in rare cases the Aedra or Daedra will be cause more interesting traits like extra fingers or strange eye colors/skin colors#Except Argonians they are confirmed to have their traits determined by the Hist and therefore is all magic related#Khajiit I imagine are a lot like IRL cat genetics when it comes to their coats but the furstocks are all magic based#I imagine that also racial abilities are sex based (liked to the X chromosome) which is why kids get the mom's race
