Vampyros Lesbos / Las Vampiras (1971)
The single greatest lesbian vampire exploitation film of all time, shot through with style and genuine sensuality. We love you, Jess Franco!
Director: Jesús Franco
Cinematographer: Manuel Merino
Starring: Soledad Miranda, Ewa Strömberg, Dennis Price, and Paul Müller

Every couple of years, I gotta rewatch. Soledad knew how to work the camera and so did Ewa Strömberg. Franco took some great shots in both interior and exterior. I think the hardest thing to convey was the sense of being in a trance on the verge of ecstasy and horror while being unable to do a thing about it; this was performed incredibly well. Smut classic to me, but I’m always curious what others who have seen this think. It’s not my favorite Franco flick, but I think it’s his most all encompassing. I think if you watch VL, you gain a good overview as what to expect from a Franco film.
5/5 classic cult

§ 3.313. Las vampiras (Jesús Franco, 1971)
Tumblr media
