You were never the greatest at expressing your emotions- and not in the aloof cold hard exterior way. There were times where you were, sure, but it was harder to pin point in what way.

Edd, everyone's bona fide buddy, knew this very well. So when he introduced you to his other friends Matt and Tom he expected things to be a mess.

Having been invited over to Edd's apartment for pizza was like a blessing. Your fridge was depressingly baren and grocery shopping procrastination was rampant. Thankfully, his apartment was only a couple floors above you, making your walk short.

At the sight of his door you knocked, shifting in your spot uncomfortably in the empty but still somehow messy hallway. You could hear the loud sounds coming from Edd's tv, presumably drowning out the sounds of your knuckles against the cheap door.

Sighing, you pulled your phone out to text Edd. The sound of the door to your left opening caught your attention. You kept your face buried in your phone as you texted Edd that you were at his door, too socially anxious to glance at whoever just exited their apartment.

"Um..'scuse me.."

You darted your head up from your phone to look at the person...guy?

He had no eyes, or all black eyes, you couldn't tell but it made you think of 2-D from Gorillaz. You took in his appearance as you spoke,

"Oh- sorry."

You moved to be out of his way, which you thought was the rest of the hallway. Edd had neglected to mention that it wasn't just gonna be you and him for pizza that night. After having moved closer to Edd's door and glancing at your phone you noticed two things.

One, this guy hadn't moved and he looked confused. Two, Edd texted back and you could hear footsteps on the other side of his door.

Speaking of the devil, Edd's door opened to reveal...well, Edd.

You made an effort not to make eye contact with Tom from the kitchen, or just in general. Edd's tv was louder inside his apartment, the sound of mario kart wii filling in the ringing of silence.

"Nope! Matt's already here. Also, do you want some supreme pizza? I put a frozen one in the oven but Matt doesn't like peppers on his pizza. It'd basically just be me and Tom eating it if you dont want any."

Grabbing a paper plate from his cabinet, you picked up a few pieces of pepperoni pizza that were already laid out on his counter. It was still warm, but definitely not hot out the oven.

"Matt? Who even are these guys? And uh...sure I'll have some supreme."

Leaning against the kitchen counter, you started eating your pizza. Edd was taking out a pizza from his oven and set it on the counter next to the pepperoni, it was cheese pizza. He was using oven mitts that you got him from a gag store for his birthday a few months ago, they were supposed to be roosters but he called them cock gloves.

Pair: Future Edd x gn!reader

Second pov (Angst)

“We should be fine around here, it’s almost abandoned” Edd says, looking over a wall. He grasps your hand tightly, the two of you walk cautiously over the sidewalk. It felt ages since Tord, or what he calls himself “Red leader” took over and banned cola. It hadn’t the best effect on Edd, since it was his one true love, but he had you to keep him sane.

You and Edd were immediately close after you moved in. Even through, zombies (multiple times), mummies, sea creatures, aliens, you stuck togheter. Sadly not so long ago, Matt and Tom had been captured by the Red Army, their current status being unknown.

It was quite, the two of you didn’t exchange a single word and that was fine. Edd holds your hand tightly, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb. It was his sudden way of comforting you. He had become a lot quieter and energetic, but he was still your Edd.

“There over here!”

A voice calls out, from afar. You and Edd tense up, already knowing who the cry belonged to.

“How did they find us?”

Edd says under his breath. The both of you begin running away and bullets are send your way, lot of them flying past your face. You suddenly feel the wind knocked out of you, you ignore it and continue to follow your companion.

Making a quick turn, Edd pulls you into an alleyway. You watch as Red Army soldiers run by, desperately looking for the remaining members of the rebellion. The man let’s out a sigh of relief “that was close”

You cough, feeling something come up your throat. You cover your mouth with your hand, when you look at your palm, you find it covered in blood. Then you realised…

You had been shot

It felt like your world was spinning, horror sets in. Edd looks over, worried at your silence. His eyes widen when he sees the shot wound in your chest and the blood coming out of your mouth. He grabs onto your shoulders “Hold on, please, I’m going to get help as fast as possible”

You weakly place your hand on his “Don’t, the nearest doctor is a town away. When you reach that, I’ll be already dead. I want to spend my last moment with you” You move your hand to be placed on his cheek.

“Don’t say that!” Tears emerge from Edd’s brown eyes, a dreadful expression on his face. It’s been a while since you saw him last cry, it’s been longer since you saw him smile.

“Come on, give me one more smile. Your smile was always my favorite, you were always my favorite” you muttered out. You could barely breath.

Edd lowers his head, his soft cries turns into sobs “Don’t do this to me, you know how much you mean to me” He places his hand on the one that was on his cheek.

“If you see Tom and Matt, tell them…that I love them” You let out a soft chuckle, before going quiet. Edd feels your hand going limp, he watches as your eyes closes peacefully.

“No, (Y/n)!” He cried, bringing your now dead body into a embrace. He puts his head onto your shoulder, soaking the fabric of your jacket “How can I go without you..?”

He pulls out his ray gun from his jacket and looks up at the big distant Red Army base, his eyes darkening “If I can’t have you in the future, I won’t have a future at all” He picks up your lifeless body and walks away, looking for a place to bury you.

I might have gone a little overboard but meh- read more under the cut!

Edd is definitely they type of partner to draw on his S/O. The guy just really likes tender moments. All huddled up close to his partner while they mindlessly scroll through their phone. Meanwhile, Edd has their wrist and is just covering them in little doodles.

His favorite thing to do for his partner is draw for them. Of course, it's not often he finds the time to since he does do commissions for a living but sometimes, he makes an exception. He loves drawing the two of them together. Though, if you're into a particular series, he most definitely will draw you something from it. Even if he knows nothing about it, he will spend hours studying your favorite characters to try and piece together a masterpiece. It's so sweet when he finally shows you what he's been working on! Edd looks so proud of himself and goes into intricate detail about all of the hidden references and details he includes.

His favorite cuddling position? Well, he loves sitting on the couch with his partner with them between his legs. His chest would be against their back as they lean into him. He's big guy so he's actually really comfortable to snuggle with.

The first time you share a bed together is pretty much the starting point of you moving in together. He physically would be unable to sleep without his partner after the first time. If you work late at night? Don't be surprised to find a tired Edd at his desk working on some commissions when you come home.

His hands get so cold sometimes. It's not even funny. Plus, they get stiff after working for hours on end. If you're not careful he will sneak up on you and ruthlessly press his cold fingers to the back of your neck. It's impossible to get mad at him though, because Edd will pout and whine about how achy his hands are.

Cuddle him while he works on commissions! Do it! He loves physical contact and will happily let you sit in his lap while he works. Edd bought a larger desk chair for this purpose now go snuggle the man. He doesn't care how long you want to sit there or if you fall asleep against his chest, he will happily endure the inevitable pin-and-needles later on if it means his S/O is comfortable.

Surf & Turf Wars (x reader)

(A/N: In this story 'the end' didn't happen, hence tord being here. also this is just a silly story i wrote based on one of the eddisodes as you can see!! since i can't find a lot of eddsworld + reader </3. might make a pt2)

(f/d): favorite drink

It was the middle of summer, and the house felt like it was on fire.

You were sitting (slouching) on the right side of the sofa, with Tord and the rest sitting at your left as they, absentmindedly, watched television.

 It really didn’t help that the couch wasn’t that big. It made everyone even more sweaty as you all were hunched together. You grimaced at this, starting to wave more the hand fan you had, to try and give yourself some air.

The five of you were sweating a lot. Sighing, your gaze averted to the right, eyes landing on the grey cat who occupied all the fan to herself. Purring as she rolled on her belly.

‘’Good for you, girl… Good for you.’’,  you mumble with a frown, your wrist feeling numb from all the fanning.

‘’Ugh, it’s so hot.‘’ Tom complains, wiping some sweat out of his face.

Tord groans, nodding slightly. For once, he seemed to agree with Tom on that one.

‘’You’re so hot.’’ Edd spats out, his eyes then opening wide, realizing what he’s said. ‘’Oh. Wait, no. You… suck?.’’ He mumbles, more sweat coming out of his forehead from how hot the house and everything was. ‘’Wait, what did ya say?’’ He eyes Tom, as he quirks a brow.

‘’I don’t remember! It's too hot.’’ He says again, melting more on the sofa.

‘’You’re too hot’’. Edd smiles proudly at the ‘new comeback’ he made, looking back at the TV.

The interaction made you smile. Amused, you glance at Tord, whispering.

‘’Does that count as flirting?’’ You chuckle, finding the situation funny.

‘’Mmh? What'd you say?’’ Tord blinks, getting out of his daze as he registers your words. ‘’Does what count as flirting?’’. You shake your head, muttering a never mind as you look at the Cola commercial that was presented, becoming quickly distracted to even notice Tord stealing your hand fan, a tiny smile of mischief on his face as he starts fanning himself. Relaxing more onto the furniture.

You then hear the window opening, and lean forward to see Matt sighing pleased, ‘’Ah, much better!’’ He says as a breeze passes past him, his hair catching on fire. You shrug as he seems to not notice, your attention going back to the commercial

‘’Are you so hot you’re melting into your sofa? Then you need the ice-cold drink in your mouth! Survive the heat with Cola. Cool Cola.’’ Edd perks up, lifting himself up from the sofa and smiling.

‘’Are you guys thinking what I’m thinking?’’ He asks all of you, excitement obvious on his tone. You hum, thinking of drinking a nice, iced beverage.

The guys, however, seemed to think all of different stuff.

‘’I hope so.’’ Tom then says, smiling.

‘’Let’s go to the beach!’’ ‘’Coconut bra!’’

‘’Iced (f/d)!’’

You snort, a bit confused as how Matt seemed to get his hands on a coconut bra, while Tord stared at it.

‘’Finally! That five-hour drive was worth it.’’ You say, stretching yourself as you all get out of the car. ‘’Definitely.’’ Tom mumbles, looking at you up and down, mesmerized by the outfit you chose to wear to the beach. When you look up at him, his eyes widen and he quickly looks away, coughing and putting a fist near his face to hide his blush.

‘’Sun on a beach!’’ Edd throws out a pun, his mouth agape. ‘’It’s… beautiful’’ He takes his sunglasses off to look around the beach, a cute smile tugging at his lips, his eyes closing as he feels the cool air on his face.

‘’How are you holding up, Matt?’’ Tord turns around to search for the mentioned. Now that you were all sitting on the inflatable sofa with your towels placed, only he was missing.

‘’Oh, don’t mind me! Just taking precautions.’’ He says, as he grabs a huge, family-sized bottle of sunscreen, bathing himself on it. The guys stare in disgust at how all the sun screen covers him, meanwhile you stare in disbelief as he wastes all the sunscreen you bought for everyone on himself. The sunscreen quickly vanishes, his skin absorbing it.

‘’Matt, dear. That- was supposed to last for all year.‘’ You say, body trembling slightly. But the ginger doesn’t seem to hear you, as he puts an umbrella hat on, walking as he knocks people over with the hat. ‘’All that sunscreen, my money, gone just like that huh.’’ You sit back on the inflatable couch, looking down with wide eyes as you stare at your sandals.

Tord pats your hair, shrugging. ‘’Meh, it’s not like the rest of us need or even use the sunscreen.’’

You roll your eyes at this. That was exactly the problem. The last time you all went to the beach, Edd and Tom kept whining to you like little kids all next week ‘cuz of their burning skin. Tord tried to play it cool, but it was so obvious he was suffering too, you remember how his skin was peeling off the days after. Yikes. The only one who was fine was Matt, as he always uses sunscreen.

‘’Suuure.’’ You say sarcastically, but finally deciding to let them be as you put your sunglasses on and get into a comfortable position.  ‘’Just don’t come whining to me when I’m right.’’ Tord holds back a smile, waving you off.

‘’Ah, don’t you just love the beach?’’ Matt says now sitting with the rest of you, a controller in his hands as he plays a video game base on the beach. (Ironic) He then blends a banana, throwing the peel away. Edd, who was beside him scoffs.

‘’Hey, don’t litter!’’ He reproaches Matt, his head turning back as he hears a man slipping on the banana skin. ‘’Ahhh yes, not a care in the world.’’ Matt relaxes as he continues playing, his gameplay not lasting long as it suddenly turns off.

You tilt your head. ‘’What happened?’’ You ask, seeing Matt throw the controller to the ground as he pouts. ‘’It turned off! How could this happen?!’’ He crosses his arms pouting, making you giggle at his dramatic reaction.

‘’There’s a lot of other things to enjoy!’’ Edd says, suddenly with a can of soda in hand. Tom nods, agreeing. ‘’For me, it’s the cool, refreshing sea breeze’’ He says as he moves his right hand in a breeze motion. You turn your head as you hear footsteps approaching, it was a worker with a refreshing beverage. ‘’Sir, your sea breeze’’. He says, giving the drink to Tom.

Tom then starts drinking the sea breeze, and you can’t help but stare at it, crearly thirsty. The taller one notices this, and stops drinking to offer it to you, leaning closer. ‘’Hey. Want some?’’ He offers it to you so casually, that you don’t notice the faint blush on his cheeks.

You smile a bit flustered, but nod nonetheless as you start drinking from one of the many straws the drink had.

Tord huffs, crossing his arms as he sees you two interact. Suddenly, an idea pops onto his head. Whistling, he looks away and waits for Tom to take a sip of the drink, to then slap his head from behind the couch, making him spill the drink.

‘’Ugh. Why, you…!’’  Tom quickly hands you what what’s left of the drink, to then pull Tord by his red t-shirt. You deadpan, ignoring the two of them fighting and Edd telling them to knock it off. As you take in the ‘Sea breeze’, you look to your right, noticing someone was missing.

‘’Hey, where did Matt go?’’ You ask to no one in particular, making the guys pause a second to process what you said. Some seconds in silence passing, to then go back to fighting as if nothing.

'Ah, why do I even bother'. You think, sipping on the iced drink.

‘’Hey, beach buds!’’ A man with glasses and a clipboard approaches your group, ‘’Surfing hard or hardly surfing! Am I right or am I right?

This makes the guys halt in their tracks, as they stare at him in silent.

‘’… Cool, cool. Are any of you signed for the fun-petition?’’ He asks with an annoying, but cheery tone.  The norwegian quirks a brow ‘’Huh? That’s not a word.’’

‘’Well I never claimed-‘’ ‘’You suck’’

‘’He’s right, that’s not a word. You do suck!’’ Edd points out

The guy was about to respond, but was pushed to the ground by a taller dude. ‘’Out of the way!’’ The blonde dude says, lading on top of the poor guy and then laughing as he’s about to go away. Edd frowns, and approaches the guy.

‘’ You can’t walk over people like that, man. Not cool.’’ Your friend says, and you decide to ignore the fact that he was standing on top of the clipboard guy, who was still knocked out cold. ‘’So what. What’cha gonna do about it, huh?’’ He mocks Edd, his two other friends laughing with him.

‘’Us against you. The fun-petition.’’ ‘’The losers don’t get to come back to the beach.’’ Tord says with his arms crossed, pointing at the sign that confirmed it. He was now standing at Edd’s side, Tom doing the same.

‘’Deal. And we get your girl.’’ The dude says, making you spill the drink and cough. ‘’What?’’ You stand up, shocked. Edd quickly gets you behind him, staring dead in the eye at the dude. ‘’No.’’ The man scoffs, rolling his eyes ‘’Not her! Her.’’

‘’Coconut bra!’’ Tom exclaims, wearing a coconut bra.

‘’Oh.’’ ‘’Deal.’’

You’re not sure if be offended or glad at what just happened, ‘’What…’’

I still wonder where Matt went to though. Huh.

‘’Let’s start the fun-petition, then!’’

''Okay! Uhm.'' You look at the clipboard in your hands, unsure on how you ended up being the judge for this competition.

‘’So, the first event is the…sand eating contest.’’ You announce, trying to hide your confusion for this weird start. Shouldn't the event be something like who makes the best sandle castle instead?

Your thoughts go away as soon as you hear eating sounds and sand. Quickly looking up from the paper, you find Tom bending over as he grabs fistfuls of sand and stuffs them into his mouth.

You gasp, now even more worried about this. Checking the clipboard again, you realize the paper was stuck together. ‘’Dude, wait! The first event is the watermelon eating contest!’’ Tom spits out sand, looking at you with widened white eyes.

‘’The what?!’’He says, and you look over to a table, Tom doing the same. There were the watermelons, with Tord on one side as he smiled ‘innocently’ at Tom. Edd waving at him with an actual genuine smile.

‘’Sorry Tom, paper was stuck together- let’s start now.’’ you apologize, cheeks red from embarrassment.

He gently guides you through everything, taking it slow and at your pace to make sure he doesn’t overwhelm you or make you uncomfortable. He regularly checks in with you, making sure you’re okay and feeling good.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Edd’s pretty affectionate! The way he shows affection is definitely through gifts like drawings and sweets he would buy while on a shopping trip. It’s definitely OOC but idc, he would share his cola with you, HA I SAID IT!

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Edd would love a best friend who would go with the flow with his adventures, someone who wouldn’t even question why things were happening and would say things like, “Guess we’re doing this now.” The friendship would start by you two crossing paths in the grocery store, stopping when he saw a cute keychain of a gray cat on your bag and saying “Hey, that looks like my cat.”

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Edd loves cuddling, he would do it all day if he could. But things have to be drawn and they’re not gonna do it themselves. I see Edd cuddling anyway honestly, one day he’ll have you in his arms and the other with him in yours. It honestly just depends if he had a rough day or not. 

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He was already the domestic type right when you started dating, as you two act like an old married couple. So of course he has no second thought about settling down with you. Cooking and cleaning are a-ok with Edd (although sometimes they end in chaos), he will pretty much become a househusband who works at home on his art.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

This man is in LOVE with you, he would not leave.(If he had to, It would definitely be in person and very much a “it's not you, it's me” situation). 

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Edd’s pretty much committed to you fully when you are dating, he is no different when you are engaged. People ask him if he’s really committed during your engagement and he’s like, “Well, that’s a dumb question, I wouldn’t have asked them to marry me if I wasn’t committed.” Although, he’s in no rush to get married and is ready whenever you are. 

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He’s very gentle, hugs are his specialty! He’s not gentle in a way to where he’s afraid to break you like you’re glass but in a way like he’s holding your hands and smiling at you all the time when you need comforting. Emotionally? He’s always considering your feelings, he’s very gentle with them whether it be telling you how much you mean to him when you’re sad or telling you you might have put salt instead of sugar into your batch of cookies. 

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He ADORES hugs! He hugs you several times throughout the day whether it be from behind as you cook breakfast or holding you as you watch tv together. His hugs are very warm and inviting, considering Edd has abnormally warm body heat. 

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He says it fairly quickly and will not see a problem with it and go about his day while you stand there bewildered like, hey? No, get back here?

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Edd doesn’t really get jealous, he trusts you and that’s that. Although, if someone isn’t getting the hint and is making you uncomfortable, he isn’t at all afraid to step in. Will act like he’s not angry at first but will quickly get his point across. “Hey there. You see me right here buddy? I’m their boyfriend, so move along. They’re clearly not interested.” 

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

He usually does soft and small kisses, although to mess with you once in a while he will do sloppy kisses on your cheek to laugh at your reaction. He loves to kiss you on your cheeks and just your face in general, to hear your laugh as he plants kisses on your nose and neck is something he thrives for. He loves to be kissed on the lips of course! To feel your soft lips against his, yes please!

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He’s fairly good with kids, he plays with them and goes along with whatever they are talking to him about. One time, your younger cousin came over and they had a whole conversation with Edd about how fairies are real and he just went along with it. “Yeah kid, you’re totally right! I think I saw one in my backyard the other day.” I would see him wanting a kid or two but if you don’t, that’s fine with him! He wants you to be comfortable and that is his number one priority. 

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Lazy mornings are essential when you’re in a relationship with Edd. Lying in bed, still in his t-shirt and boxers, and both of your hair messed up whilst you show each other videos on your phones is his ideal date, to be honest. 

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights are very sweet, holding you in his arms on the bed either while he draws or just scrolling through his phone. He’ll take glances down at you occasionally and smile as you make eye contact. He’ll place kisses on your forehead as he softly laughs, “Hey hon.”

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Edd is very open in your relationship, he tells you pretty much everything even before the start of your romantic relationship. The less touchy stuff he would tell you straight away and would reserve the other stuff (like his past stuff) to tell you when he’s ready. 

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Edd kinda has things that set him off (and even then, he doesn’t get THAT angry) but other than that, he is not easily angered. He never really shows it towards you anyways and mainly shows it towards his friends when they steal his soda or food.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He tries his best to remember everything he sees and what you tell him but some things can’t help but slip his mind. Although most of them he remembers, like your favorite things such as food and color as well as things that you dislike and avoid. Edd has a pretty mediocre memory so forgive him if he asks for clarification. 

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Definitely one night whilst he was drawing you, you offered to draw him. He posed and everything for you and you couldn’t help but giggle and give him a thumbs-up as you sketched it down in an empty sketchbook he had lying around. When you show it to him, his heart couldn't help but swell with affection. Art is VERY special to him, and to see you putting in so much effort into one of his interests? He passes away.  It might have not been the best art ever to the average eye but to him? Priceless. (It hangs above his desk so he can look at it whilst he works). 

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Edd’s a slight bit protective, of course most of the time he trusts you but like stated before if someone is bothering you he will become protective. He will wrap his arm around your figure as he puts on an aggravated fake smile at the other person (you know his real smile and that is NOT it), and gets the two of you out of there. Edd would think it’s comical when you get protective and would joke around when the two of you would walk away “Aww (Name), you were totally being protective just now.”   

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

At the beginning, all his effort goes into your relationship. Of course, his friends (mostly Matt)  freak him out into thinking if he doesn’t you’ll leave him, “Edd you need to do this! A good boyfriend makes sure their partner is happy and secure or else they’ll leave him!”. You reassure him that you’re dating him not for the gifts and dates but because you love him. Dates slowly got more and more mundane but you were ok with that, as long as you two spent time together you couldn’t care less what the bloody hell the two of you did. Anniversaries though, he goes all out with gifts and flowers, it’s one of the few days a year he gets to spoil you dammit!

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Personally, I see him diving too deep into his work to the point he shuts everything out around him, including you. Even if you walk into the room to ask him to take a break, he’ll shoo you out so he won’t get distracted as his eyes are glued to his drawing tablet. 

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Not very much, he tries to keep up with his daily hygiene but doesn’t go as far as to have a daily facial cleanse like his roommate. He’ll clean up nicely on dates though. 

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

100%. After you enter Edd’s life, he doesn’t know how to live without you or how he did in the first place. You are his world.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Edd was quite nervous on your first date, taking all the advice his three friends gave him before he left, in a suit and tie he was sweating all over the place, reading from cards his friends gave him to help him make conversation with you. His friends went as far as to hide and pretend to be waiters for your table to help him. Of course, you recognized them right away and decided to go along with it.

Pun haters. Just joking, Edd would not like to be lied to. Please be honest with him, after all, honesty is the best policy! At least in his eyes.
