Edd, everyone's bona fide buddy, knew this very well. So when he introduced you to his other friends Matt and Tom he expected things to be a mess.

Having been invited over to Edd's apartment for pizza was like a blessing. Your fridge was depressingly baren and grocery shopping procrastination was rampant. Thankfully, his apartment was only a couple floors above you, making your walk short.

At the sight of his door you knocked, shifting in your spot uncomfortably in the empty but still somehow messy hallway. You could hear the loud sounds coming from Edd's tv, presumably drowning out the sounds of your knuckles against the cheap door.

Sighing, you pulled your phone out to text Edd. The sound of the door to your left opening caught your attention. You kept your face buried in your phone as you texted Edd that you were at his door, too socially anxious to glance at whoever just exited their apartment.

"Um..'scuse me.."

You darted your head up from your phone to look at the person...guy?

He had no eyes, or all black eyes, you couldn't tell but it made you think of 2-D from Gorillaz. You took in his appearance as you spoke,

You moved to be out of his way, which you thought was the rest of the hallway. Edd had neglected to mention that it wasn't just gonna be you and him for pizza that night. After having moved closer to Edd's door and glancing at your phone you noticed two things.

One, this guy hadn't moved and he looked confused. Two, Edd texted back and you could hear footsteps on the other side of his door.

Speaking of the devil, Edd's door opened to reveal...well, Edd.

"Y/n! Tom! Come on in!"

To say you were surprised was an understatement, but you just looked uncomfortable instead. Heat rose to your cheeks, embarrassment now cementing itself within you.

It was painful how awkward you sounded, at least to you. You moved to let Tom go in first, feeling bad for essentially cutting him off just a second ago. He didn't say anything and just walked inside of Edd's apartment.

"So uh, is there anyone else coming that I should know about?"

You made an effort not to make eye contact with Tom from the kitchen, or just in general. Edd's tv was louder inside his apartment, the sound of mario kart wii filling in the ringing of silence.

"Nope! Matt's already here. Also, do you want some supreme pizza? I put a frozen one in the oven but Matt doesn't like peppers on his pizza. It'd basically just be me and Tom eating it if you dont want any."

Grabbing a paper plate from his cabinet, you picked up a few pieces of pepperoni pizza that were already laid out on his counter. It was still warm, but definitely not hot out the oven.

"Matt? Who even are these guys? And uh...sure I'll have some supreme."

Leaning against the kitchen counter, you started eating your pizza. Edd was taking out a pizza from his oven and set it on the counter next to the pepperoni, it was cheese pizza. He was using oven mitts that you got him from a gag store for his birthday a few months ago, they were supposed to be roosters but he called them cock gloves.

After taking your seat in the arm chair you bit into your pizza, watching whatever was unfolding on the tv. Matt and Tom had glanced at you but their focuses were not held on you. You quietly sighed and leaned back, getting comfortable.

Your embarrassment from earlier still haunted you, and so you were not looking forward to socializing.

"So uh...you're friends with Edd right? How'd you guys meet?"

"if you don't get your foot off my damn book." his expression is all shit-eating and smug, even though you can't see it. "nope. i warned you, so now you're gonna suffer."

in response, your thighs lock around his waist and keep him flush against you. his face is burning, and all of a sudden he's grateful that you can't see him. after all, your thighs wrapping his torso was kinda hot--

"eddie?" his name barely leaves your lips. "hm?" "i--"

your goddamn phone goes off. the rosy lens is cracked and suddenly the two of your are jolting away from one another with flustered stammers and apologies. you swear that you're gonna throttle whoever dares to interrupt your precious moment. "sorry, i gotta-- y'know.. work and whatever!"

"no, that's-- yeah! mhm, cool! w-work's important! go, uh... yeah." you rush out the front door, phone in your hand while he's left inside. never has your face felt so hot. and dear god, your heart is beating so fast, it's a wonder you haven't fallen into cardiac arrest yet. your hand cups your cheek, reminiscent of where his own had just been. slightly calloused and rough.. but sturdy. and oh so gentle.

Edd is definitely they type of partner to draw on his S/O. The guy just really likes tender moments. All huddled up close to his partner while they mindlessly scroll through their phone. Meanwhile, Edd has their wrist and is just covering them in little doodles.

His favorite thing to do for his partner is draw for them. Of course, it's not often he finds the time to since he does do commissions for a living but sometimes, he makes an exception. He loves drawing the two of them together. Though, if you're into a particular series, he most definitely will draw you something from it. Even if he knows nothing about it, he will spend hours studying your favorite characters to try and piece together a masterpiece. It's so sweet when he finally shows you what he's been working on! Edd looks so proud of himself and goes into intricate detail about all of the hidden references and details he includes.

His favorite cuddling position? Well, he loves sitting on the couch with his partner with them between his legs. His chest would be against their back as they lean into him. He's big guy so he's actually really comfortable to snuggle with.

The first time you share a bed together is pretty much the starting point of you moving in together. He physically would be unable to sleep without his partner after the first time. If you work late at night? Don't be surprised to find a tired Edd at his desk working on some commissions when you come home.

His hands get so cold sometimes. It's not even funny. Plus, they get stiff after working for hours on end. Eggs… Check! Milk… Check! 

You were crossing things off your list left to right as you walked through the grocery mart, essentials and other goods were in your trolley, not paying attention to where you steered the metal cart. Soon enough, your thoughts and checklist were interrupted by your trolley running into another man’s, earning an ‘oof’ sound from the both of you as your trolley handles collided with your stomachs. 

You finally looked up from the slip of paper, shaking your head in surprise as you finally noticed the poor soul you had bumped into. “Ah- sorry sir, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” You flushed as you spoke, especially calling him sir seeing as you two seemed to be the same age.

“Ah- it’s fine, no need to be so formal…” His eyes drifted to your bag that was slung over your shoulder, a little grey tabby keychain hanging from one of the zippers. He softly laughed as he pointed to it, “Hey, that kinda looks like my cat.”

You looked down at the little keychain you got from online shopping, smiling as you looked up at him. “Is that so? Can I see your cat?” 

He nodded, pulling out his phone and showing you his lock screen. He was right, it certainly did look like his cat! A cute gray tabby was sprawled out on its back on green sheets, its paws up in the air as it looked up at the camera. So cute!

“Aw, how cute! What’s their name?” The man chuckled and said, “Her name is Ringo, oh and I’m Edd by the way.” He held out his hand to you.

Your eyes drifted to the contents of Edd’s cart, full of cans of soda. You certainly did not want to say anything but just looking at it gave you a sugar rush. 

You were pulled out of your thoughts to him handing a slip of paper to you, “Here’s my number if you want to keep in touch, only if you want to of course.”

You quickly nodded, not wanting to come off as rude, “Oh! Y-Yeah! That would be great. Thank you…”  

He smiled one last time and walked off with his cart, the squeaking of the wheel slowly dying down as you were left in silence once more. 

You couldn’t exactly put your finger on it, but Edd giving you his phone number made your cheeks flush and gave you a funny feeling in your stomach. 

You looked down at the slip and smiled, stuffing it in your jacket pocket as you tried to go back to your boring shopping trip.

You had gotten up and grabbed a remote, already familiar with their location by Edd's tv. It made you think of the last time you came over, and both of you had stayed up late playing various games. The memory made you smile as you popped the remote into the wheel accessory.

Speaking of the devil, Edd had peeked out into the living room. You both locked eyes before he spoke, he looked happy- excited even?

"Hey, I'll be over in a minute guys, I just gotta watch this pizza and then I can play."

Matt turned his body and held the back of the couch to look at Edd. The sight was slightly amusing to say the least, making the smile from earlier linger. Tom looked up from his phone, between you and Edd. His movements were hard to miss and momentarily you both held eye contact.

"Cool, you can join after this race then."

Tom had a smug grin on his face as he looked at Edd, knowing that his bluntness would push his buttons. Like predicted, Edd rolled his eyes and went back into his kitchen.

The casual closeness between the guys made you wanna speak up so bad with small talk, but all the words died in your throat. Nothing felt like the right thing to say so you stayed quiet.

Matt had switched the mode to three player versus and picked Luigi as his racer. Tom chose king boo, which was what you'd guess he'd pick besides bowser based off of looks alone.

You picked your favorite racer, earning you a questionable look from Matt and Tom. However, you had played against Edd, who is quite possibly the most competitive man on earth, multiple times.

You furrowed your eyebrows as you focused on the screen, trying to lock in. On the inside though? Oh you were so cocky right now. Come on, these guys had no idea what was coming and it was hilarious.

Tom spoke up, referring to the race that had just occured. Matt was waiting to hear from you as well, but he knew damn well you were that good because of Edd. He shot a dirty look towards Edd in the kitchen, but Edd was too busy listening to the background music from the game and dancing as he watched the pizza bake.

✩ like every single fanfiction author on the face of tumblr and wattpad would describe, Tord has caramel brown hair. It can really easily get staticky which is funny as fuck when he works on his robots. You’ll walk in and it’s all over the place.

✩ I see people describing his hair as ‘hair horns’ which isn’t wrong per-say, but a better word for it is cowlicks. He literally cannot control them. When he was a teenager he tried so hard to gel them back just to have them spring right back up. Despite that, his hair is actually really silky. He doesn’t like having body hair so he shaves all of it off. Sometimes he leaves a happy trail though.

✩ his eyes are a very striking grey. Depending on lighting they look wildly different. They can look almost white and icy in the light But in the dark they can look menacing and deep.

✩ Tords skin is pretty pale. His skin has warm-neutral undertones. He mostly prefers to be indoors, especially when he’s deep into a project. However when it isn’t above 70 degrees he loves to go out into the woods.

✩ He’s around 6’3 and lean. He’s not very visibly muscular but you can tell he works out. when he’s just out in a t shirt you might catch a glimpse of bicep.
