The special fandom woe of really not liking the original, but losing your damn mind over the prequel
#Everything about THG actively repels my brain#the concept the execution everything about it is just tropes I do not enjoy#but the new film gives me everything and I am dying#doomed protaganists enacting revenge on the narrative itself (or succumbing to it)#enemies to lovers to enemies in love (with actual chemistry oh my gosh the chemistry)#folk music by someone who can actually sing folk music in a narrative with the same tropes as folk music#children murdering each other but make it gladiators#ptsd except done really well this time (of course surviving the games would mean they hold onto that mindset and it destroys them)#also some actually good dystopia for once#it's all such good food
