Harry just understood at 19 that if he wanted his career to be going somewhere after one direction he shouldn’t be hanging out with people like Liam or Louis. He was especially close with zayn and after he left (and seemed to have started a decent career too at that point) Harry was mostly hanging with Niall when he was at work. He was close with the azoffs since 2013. He was besties with nick grimshaw who was also a decent guy with decent connections and a stable career in 2012. Harry made Stevie Nicks a carrot cake in order to get more in contact with her and now has a very special friendship with her which both of them take benefits from. You can tell, Harry makes deliberate choices when it comes to the people he works with. He doesn’t work or is even friends with people who aren’t hard working, smart, talented or in any way a good influence. And I think it’s out of the question that Louis a bad influence in every sense of the world. And Harry is just really kind and humble and everybody confirms it after meeting him how an amazing person he is. Meanwhile, Louis just get in fights with people all the time especially when he was in the band. And it’s those people who now refuse to work with him and also don’t recommend him to other good people in the industry. Louis also never had an interest in expanding his connections or his little group of people he’s close with and only works with his best friends from childhood who tell him what he wants to hear, who look up to him because he is so rich and famous but who can teach him nothing about his job or give him good advice. Harry was always looking for exactly those kind of people. People he can learn from, people who can bring him to a better place and help him push his career. He doesn’t want reassurance, he wants inspiration. He has the right idols to look up to and of course he brings the talent. Which louis doesn’t have.

👏👏👏 It speaks volumes that Louis doesn't have any celebrity friends. Even his idol Liam Gallagher failed to show up at the aotv premiere.

“James? Could you come into the living room for a minute?” Sirius asks him.

“Sure.”

James follows Sirius into the living room and Regulus and Remus are already there. Sirius goes to sit in the chair beside Remus and James sits beside Regulus.

“What’s going on?” James asks them.

Sirius looks down, fidgeting with his hands and Regulus takes one of James’ hands. “Sirius has something to tell you.” Regulus says with a sigh.

“Are you okay?” James asks Sirius then turns to Regulus. “Are you okay?”

“Oh, I’m fine.” Regulus says lightly. “I’m only here because Sirius thinks you’re going to need emotional support.”

“He will, Regulus! He’s going to be devastated!” Sirius gives James a solemn look.

“Okay, someone tell me what’s going on because you’re starting to scare me.”

Sirius takes a deep breath. “Okay, well… erm… someone that Moons works with is moving out of their flat.” Sirius starts slowly. “And�� well, they asked us if we’d be interested in taking over their lease… and… erm… we said yes.” Sirius finishes with a wince.

“You guys got your own flat?” James asks and Sirius nods very slowly. “Congratulations guys! That’s amazing!—”

“James…” Sirius cuts off James’ excitement. “It means we’re moving out.”

“Yeah! I’m excited for you both!” James says then turns to Regulus. “And that means—" Regulus is already smiling back at James. “—We’re going to be here. Just the two of us. Are you ready for that?” James asks and Regulus nods as his smile gets bigger and James leans in to kiss him.

“James!” Sirius interrupts them. “I’m not going to live here anymore!” He practically shouts.

“Yeah, I sort of figured that part out.”

Sirius huffs. “Why aren’t you devastated?”

“Am I supposed to be?” James asks Regulus, very confused.

“Apparently so. Do you need emotional support?” Regulus asks with faux sincerity.

“Oh… erm… yes?”

“There, there.” Regulus deadpans as he pats James on the shoulder.

“This is ridiculous! Aren’t you going to miss me?!” Sirius is still shouting.

“Of course! But we’re still going to see each other all the time.” James tells him “And Pads. We’ve lived together for fifteen years. I think we’re ready to try something new.”

Sirius huffs again and crosses his arms, slumping back in his chair. “You should at least be a little heartbroken.” He grumbles.

“Do you need emotional support, Sirius?” Regulus asks him.

“Fuck off, Regulus.” Sirius stands up.

“I really will miss you, Pads.” James tells him.

“Whatever.” Sirius mumbles as he stomps out of the room, Remus trailing behind him rolling his eyes.

“I think we should turn their room into a study.” Regulus says casually.

you know, what gets me about OoTP is that sirius decided to do the whole ‘don’t you have questions harry. shame.’ routine in PUBLIC. in front of everyone. he could’ve very, very easily done it in private, just taken harry aside for a minute and info-dumped but he didn’t.

and that’s honestly such an important part, i think.

like, for one, he sincerely thinks harry should be getting this information at the same time as everyone else, in the same method. it’s not something that’s meant to be hidden and whispered. he is essentially establishing that harry has a right to this knowledge. that’s something no else has done. even when dumbledore tells harry something, he doesn’t do it because harry should know, he does it bc harry needs to know, at that time.

i also think, another part is bc sirius realises that the kids are involved in this together. he saw the golden trio dynamics upfront in the shack, he knows these kids have his kid’s back and they will either find out from harry and/or they’re in as much danger (virtue of identity, proximity, and curiosity) and therefore must know as well. he can’t force the weasley parents to tell their kids, but he can put them in a position where they might just have to. (low level rebellion incitement lessgooo)

Sirius Black would wear a shirt that says "best dogfather ever" at Harry's birthday because him and James thinks it's hilarious and would laugh their ass off.

Remus Lupin with the bent nose that’s a little too big, with the soft tired amber eyes, with the soft jawline, with the slightly crooked teeth, with the spattered freckles all over his face, with the knobby knees, with the lanky limbs, with the skinny and completely un-muscled body, with the fluffy curly and inexplicably tangled tawny hair, with the awkward and hunched posture.

Remus Lupin who is so strange and weird that no one really understands why/how he’s friends with James and Sirius, and everyone is even more confused when he and Sirius get together and this literal god of a man is with such a dweeb (then you see them together and they’re so sweet and in love that it makes sense). He has to have a hand on Sirius at all times because, if he doesn’t, he’s scared that Sirius will leave and he won’t know where he is. He always wants to be in Sirius’ lap because he’s freezing cold constantly and Sirius runs hot, so he clearly needs to be cuddled, because why else would they be the way they are. He always has to be held and reassured that he is loved because he’s an insecure little baby.

Remus Lupin’s first kiss was Sirius, he lost his virginity to Sirius, his first relationship was with Sirius, because he’s scared of everyone else finding out he’s a werewolf. The only time he was ever called a Casanova was when his friends poked fun at him for so much as talking to someone outside of their direct friend group (Sirius, James, Peter, Lily, Mary, Marlene, etc.). He was an antisocial weirdo that shied away from conversations, and panicked and ran if any confrontation occurred.

Remus Lupin was not an active problem solver, his fight or flight response was permanently set to flight. He lived on chocolate and tea and whatever snacks his friends brought him when he was studying. He wasn’t a natural straight-O student, he had to work his ass off to get Es in most classes and Es and Os in his best ones. He couldn’t work for the life of him because he had a bad back and hips and knees and once hurt himself trying to lift a stack of books the wrong way (with his back not his legs). He’s allergic to pollen and dust and peanuts and he’s lactose intolerant and his stomach is super sensitive. He doesn’t smoke because he’s got asthma and is too scared he’ll get lung cancer or something because he’s drop-dead terrified of literally everything.

Loser kinda-ugly nerd Remus John Lupin needs to make a comeback because he is so cute.

Tom Harris. He went from being the stereotypical best friend character to the glue. His parents probably don't know where he is most of the time, and they don't seem to care, he idolizes his big brother in the way only a boy raised by his brother could. He's willing to give up spending time with his idol to keep his best friend safe. He's fully aware that his friends could do this without him, but as long as he's alive he makes sure they never have to. He hates museums and Spiderman, and he's bad at cool spy tricks like hopping over walls or hacking but he can keep a level head hundreds of miles from home when a ship with his best friend aboard explodes. His first instinct is to get them to safety, regardless of how much he wants to stay. He's strong enough to drag Kyra out of harm's way while she's falling to pieces. He is eternally optimistic, he doesn't give up hope that Alex is alive, and he refuses to leave him, even in a lot of emotional turmoil and physical danger. He comes up with solutions quickly, and he knows how to tie a bowtie. He eats cereal straight out of the box. He records everything because he wants to make films. He records everything to make sure that there's evidence to protect Alex this time. he has microbangs. He's Alex and Kyra's number-one hype man. He calls his best friend's guardian more than he calls his parents, he doesn't believe anyone is ever broken beyond repair. He would dress up as a pizza man and bike for miles just to hug his best friend and make a poor analogy about anchovies.

“rumor” - Jegulus microfic - @into-the-jeggyverse - 375 words

Gossip spreads faster than fiendfyre at Hogwarts, so it’s no surprise that the rumor about James and Regulus is all over the school by the end of the day. When James walks into the Great Hall for dinner, all eyes are on him instantly and whispers break out all around him as he walks over to the Gryffindor table. He sits down across from Sirius and tries to keep his head down, but he can feel Sirius’ eyes on him, so he looks up at his friend and immediately regrets it. James has seen Sirius’ glare before but never directed at him and it’s so intense it actually makes him flinch back a bit.

“It’s…” James barely gets a sound out before Sirius cuts him off.

“My baby brother, James?” His voice is threateningly low.

“It didn’t actually happen, Sirius.” James tries to defend himself.

“Not that I didn’t want it to.” James hears Regulus say. He didn’t even notice Regulus walk up behind him and he whips around to look at him.

“What does that mean?” Sirius asks and James turns back to him.

“I think it’s pretty obvious what that means, Sirius.” Regulus says casually, completely unaffected by Sirius’ murderous glare.  

James turns again and just as he makes eye contact with Regulus he leans down and kisses James on the cheek. Despite all the eyes on him and Sirius’ glare burning into the back of his head, James can’t help but close his eyes and sigh a little.

“Meet me in the locker room after dinner. We can finish what we started.” Regulus whispers with a smirk then just turns and walks away.

That boy will be the death of me. James thinks as he slowly turns back around only to meet Sirius’ glare again. Nope, Sirius will quite literally be the death of me. James corrects himself.

Sirius stands up slowly giving James just enough time to get a bit of a head start. He runs out of the Great Hall but slows down as he’s passing Regulus and kisses him on the cheek.

“I’ll see you after dinner.” He tells him.

“NO, YOU WILL NOT!” Sirius yells and James starts running again.

James is pretty sure he knows what the gossip will be tomorrow.
